First time here since the change over from Harvester to Miller and Carter and I have to say it did not disappoint. Our waiter Dave was amazing from start to finish such a nice guy looked after us well throughout our visit. Food was amazing everyone says its over rated I say it's under rated as it's the most amazing steak myself and my partner have came across along with the rest of the food. Such a joy to be here this evening and we will be back for next date night. Hats off to Dave!!

Had an Anniversary Meal today,had The Butcher's Block,and WOW.!..It was Absolutely Amazing,and our Steak Expert was Bethany,who was Very Friendly,Chatty and Pleasant..And the chef wrote us a "Happy Anniversary" message in chocolate with a couple of heart shaped strawberries..So You All Get Another ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ For Effort...Thanks And See You All Again VERY SOON...👌

Food was delicious, service was brilliant, so polite and kind. The only thing, I know steaks need to rest so are not piping hot when they're served but all main course food wasn't very hot. All other food was perfect. Miss the sweet potato fries though!

I visit this M&C all the time, the food is always good but the service is always, always poor. We experience everything from having to call staff over to order drinks, food, get the table cleared and receive desert menu's. When they bring drinks to the table they do not remove the empty ones, every time I visit lately it's different waiting staff so I assume staff retention is high and I am always served by a new, less experienced staff.

The food was nice not what it's made out to be, the service was spot on can't complain

Lamb was very good, potatoes great. Not enough variety of veg on Sunday sharer, didn't feel like a Sunday dinner. Yorkshire puddings were comparable to aunt Bessie's, you can do better. Steak was way too thin and overcooked due to the thinness. I've never been blown away with a steak at Miller and Carter. I was hoping today may change my mind but I was left disappointed

I brought my brother here for a meal, wish I'd not bothered. The food is gradually getting worse at Miller & Carter. The starter arrived (bread board) although they brought the wrong one. They brought sourdough and no sideplates - so the table was a mess. The steaks were both ordered medium - mine was closer to being rare and my brother's was more on the well done side. The fri es were dry as sticks and tasted stale. Honestly, as someone who's visited quite often, it's sad to think that I won't be so keen to revisit. The prices are VERY expensive for mediocre food and the "dress code" is non-existent. People dress better to go McDonalds. No, I didn't complain about the food as I wouldn't trust anything that arrived at the table after complaining.

5 stars are given for the impeccable table service given by Shaun and surroundings. 4 stars for food is because we were slightly disappointed that our meal went cold quite quickly and chunky chips were mainly scraps (and clearly frozen chips)Home made would have been far far better in a restaurant of this calibre.

Family celebration for our Nephew’s 21st birthday. Nice to have Family together but the restaurant and service were very poor…. Waited ages for drinks to arrive and for food orders to be taken and to arrive. Food was poor with starter chicken chipotle just fatty and gristly. Main wasn’t much better with half roast chicken appearing to be pink tinged… again service between courses was really really slow… tables were all squashed together in a long row not good for a family get together, thought we would’ve had a large round table so we could all chat together. Overall really disappointed in atmosphere, food, service and value. Will definitely not be recommending this Sunderland branch.

Great value for money and excellent food and service

Visited recently and was really underwhelmed by the basics. Food was served not particularly warm. Steak and sauce was good (if they can actually cook it to your liking though, not just how they think it should be served) but the chunky chips sides were virtually inedible. Would expect better for something that is £35 a head. Wouldn’t rush back.

Came for my husbands birthday. As soon as we got there, the host wished him a happy birthday. The food was good, and my steak was slightly overcooked. The server we had was slow, we were waiting to get drinks for over 15 minutes. Overall good. Would go back.

Food was like other Miller & Carter restaurants I have been to. This means the Steaks were cooked very well and seasoned beautifully. Dave was very attentive and made us feel welcome. Really enjoyed it here.

Always one of our favourite places to visit - we love the more relaxed atmosphere of the Sunderland venue, plus the accessible parking is always a winner. Service tonight from Daisy was absolutely spot on - great food recommendations, especially some of the newer sides to accompany our food. Unfortunately I didn’t think to take a photo before we ate those… but the beef shin is a must try!

Our server was Shaun he was very attentive and made our evening fun. If you are fortunate enough to have Shaun as your server you are guaranteed to have a lovely time. First class.

Defiantly recommend the ‘BUCHERS BLOCK’ and the beef dripping sauce! Also the best lobster tail we have tried. Everything was cooked to perfection!

We came here on Sunday and had the 3 courses for £32.50 which I thought was excellent value for money. The food was outstanding and full of flavour. The 12oz ribeye with beef dripping sauce is recommended. The young waitress Alex was very welcoming and efficient.

From Reception to waiting on and food presentation, everyone was very professional and the food perfectly cooked.

Saturday night for my wife’s birthday and was so disappointed the service was great but the meal was a total letdown as the chateaubriand was tough and flavourless complained to the management and they offered a complimentary sweet which we turned down as we weren’t looking for any discount or anything else we just wanted them to know about the quality of the meat for any future orders

Brilliant visit today for an early birthday meal with the better half. Building itself was warm clean and very well decorated. Somehow the staff were aware it was a celebration meal 🧐 and had a birthday card ready for me. Service was amazing (Thank you Olivia) from start to finish with nothing being an issue.
