Went for an evening meal on a bank holiday was quite busy. Food came out and steak wasn't quite to my preference so I looked up for a server and was clocked instantly by Sophie who came and replaced my whole meal not an issue. Then also received a visit from the manager apologising and offering to take my partners meal and keep it warm while we waited. Replacement was sorted in 5 mins. Customer service was exceptional from the get go considering she was in training and nothing was a bother!

Food quality is not great and certainly not worth what they charge. I ordered a second glass of wine after the starter which never arrived.

Dined at the Sunderland branch today our 3rd visit and couldn't fault the food and service both outstanding. Our server today was Kayleigh, lovely pleasant young lady. My partner opted for the dirty burger which wad awesome and I had the lamb rump which melted in your mouth. I have to say the sticky toffee pudding was one of the best I've had.

Dave was amazing and was very attentive we had an amazing night and he dealt with a lot of complicated customers surrounding us very well! We definitely will be returning and he is an asset to your business!

Our waiter was Dave, a well mannered, pleasant guy. Dave made our experience today a lot better. Our food was delicious. Our steak was cooked to perfection and our chips were salty and crispy. The time for our food was great aswell. Thank you Dave and the chefs for a great time and miller and carter. Never disappoints

We visited on Saturday evening, 17th August for a birthday celebration. Food was excellent and great service by our server Liv. Will definitely return.

Gcse results day and time to celebrate out eldests success at M&C. greeted as we entered and seated by very attentive FOH staff. We were looked after during our evening by Liv, Olivia R, who was very informative and attentive to our order and what was available and not during our ordering. Food as per usual was really nice. Son and wife had the steak experience and myself and youngest had burgers. Most enjoyable evening and we no doubt will be back, again. Thanks M&C Sunderland

Came here with my partner for a birthday meal and Kylie was nothing but lovely to us. Very attentive but not overbearing. Food was great, and the orange chocolate bomb was great way to end the meal. Also james the manger, was warm and welcoming.

I’m disappointed with Miller & Carter tonight. This is my local and I have never ever had a negative experience here so it’s a shame that tonight wasn’t good. I don’t know what has happened but we were not the only ones with a complaint, 2 other tables complained and one table refused to come back when the waiter said I hope you have a better experience on your next visit. For us, we waited over 35 minutes for our main course, I think we were forgotten as another table was served their main course and we had been seated well before that table. The red wine sauce was terrible and we sent it back as I thought we were given the wrong sauce but we hadn’t. It was no way a red wine sauce it was more like a thick congealed gravy. They gave us a choice of another sauce, so we had the peppercorn and beef dripping but it just wasn’t good. The iceberg wedge was half the usual size than normal. A very disappointing visit.

The service by Liv was great. The cocktails were tasty. The onion rosti was tough & the sauted green veg was tasteless and looked as if it had been microwaved. The music was a bit loud.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. Food was amazing, we had calamari and chicken bites to start, then 50 day aged fillet and ribeye followed by the brownie and banofee pie for desserts. All really tasty

We booked on the spur of the moment, easy to check online for a table and book. We arrived slightly early and were given a bleeper so our drinks while waiting could go on the food bill. We were served by Daisy who was very friendly and helpful. We had a sharing steak which was cooked medium and very tasty. Not too busy and a good atmosphere no loud background music, so easy to talk over dinner.

This is by far the best restaurant in the Northern hemisphere. Everything, from the Forest Mojito to the steak and lobster was absolutely delicious. My taste buds were melting from the first second the food touched my tongue... the service and the atmosphere weren't any worse either! I'd recommend it to anyone and i congratulate the chefs and the staff for everything!

Thank you for saving our anniversary this evening after our reservation elsewhere was cancelled without notice. Our reservation was very last minute, and the restaurant was pretty busy too. The food was delicious, and the service was second to none. Thank you for all the recommendations, too.

Our waitress Daisy was absolutely fabulous. I had an issue with my starter and she sorted it out no problem. It was also our anniversary while dining here and she had made us up a little plate with happy anniversary written in chocolate decorated beautifully with a little pot of chocolate and ice cream. It really made our night. We hope we get you as our server when coming back.

Food was lovely as always, service was extremely slow and uninviting. We came at around 7:20 and didn’t leave until close to 10pm our little boy is only 3 years old and this was very late for him. We were waiting around quite a long time between dishes and clearing plates. I wasn’t asked if I wanted another drink so only had 1 drink throughout the evening and we had 3 courses each. Very disappointing as we visit here on special occasions but several times a year. The meal cost £156 so wasn’t exactly a cheap meal out. I did tip 10% but only because I felt pressured by the waitress standing over the top whilst I decided on what to tip.

Been to Miller and Carter Boldon on a number of occasions now. Have to say, highly dissapointed this time round. went on A Thursday night.Not too busy. Lot of staff standing around talking behind where we were eating, so got to hear all about what they had been up to ! Waiter was friendly, but didnt know the menu and initially took the wrong order. Starter was tasty, but some bits chewy, which you dont expect from a chicken dish. Steak was so so. Not much flavour, whoch was disappointing. My wife had the steak cut chips, which were obviously cooked from frozen, extra charge of a pound. Ok, not expensive, but expect better than frozen. Opted for the sharer dessert ( additional 2 quid). No option for my wife to get a dessert, as mine was to share. Not a huge portion for two. When the bill came, we had been charged full price for dessert, even though we had set menu. luckily my wife spotted it, as would have been overcharged. There is now a policy of charging gratuity. which you have to decline in front of the staff. The numbers are so small, you can hardly make them out. I pressed what I thought was 0, ended up it was 8% Not impressed. Not be going back

We celebrated our 13 Wedding Anniversary in Miller and Carter last night 24.07.24. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. Our server Yousif, went above and beyond to make our night extra memorable. We would highly recommend it.

Saturday lunch: 3 of us, 2 courses £16.95. We had a lovely warm welcome, staff all very smart and polite, also helpful. Chose our own table by window, very pleasant. Spacious and clean, well presented table settings. Drinks orders taken and brought without waiting. We chose starters of x2 Sticky Chipotle Chicken, chilli jam dip, my son had halloumi fries, chimichurri dip. All gorgeous!!! 👍 Chicken was melt in your mouth delicious. Mains were: x1 fillet steak (£6.50 supplement) with fries, onion loaf. Ordered steak medium-well done, which was perfect and delicious 😋 !! My husband and my son both had the steak sandwich with fries and onion loaf, more like a bhaji, if I'm honest, plus ordered 1 mac cheese side. We shared 3 more sides £10 which we could share, of sautéed green veg, garlic mushrooms and more onion loaf. With drinks, the price very reasonable just over £80. Would love to visit again soon, most enjoyable afternoon here, would definitely recommend !! x

Second time we’ve visited this restaurant and both times, we’ve been served by Antonio who creates the warmest atmosphere with his friendliness and politeness. The food is absolutely amazing with a lot to choose from on the menu and if you don’t fancy a steak, there are alternatives to choose from and they’re all so good. Definitely coming back here and hoping to be served by Antonio once again! Genuine asset to the team ❤️

We came as a large group, which I appreciate can be difficult to accommodate. The food was, as always, very nice and extremely well cooked. The only thing that was frustrating was trying to get staff attention for drinks. Then, when we did, they forgot one and brought it, once all the food was finished. In fairness to them, they did take it off the bill, which is why I have still given them 5 stars. Within our party, most people had steak, all of which were perfectly cooked. One person had chargrilled chicken and smashed potatoes and really enjoyed that, another had fish and chips, which they too really enjoyed and one had a steak sandwich. The starters were also really well received. We had baked chedder mushrooms and sticky Chipotle chicken.

Took my Father out for a meal here on the 19th June, a fantastic starter & of course it would be a sin to come here and not have one of their amazing Steak’s. We thoroughly enjoyed the night and the Service from Daisy was 10/10, she was friendly, always smiling & she definitely added to an already great night. Would also like to thank M&C who listened to my online request for a certain table placement. As with lots of Veteran’s, being seated in certain table positions, can really affect my PTSD. Can’t say anything else but that M&C went out of their way, to both provide a table where I had no one behind me and also where I felt comfortable. So it was Lovely Food, a Lovely Waitress and a Lovely Atmosphere, will be booking again really soon. Thanks Steve

Antonio was our very efficient, friendly and professional waiter. We ordered medium steaks - it was perfectly done. Perfect place for date night!

Staff were amazing, really friendly and attentive. Food was great and their lunch deal is definitely worth it. The restaurant is a bit out of shape, walls had sauce or something staining them, wall paper is peeling and bathrooms are looking a bit battered. I will also say drinks are very expensive. For the price of the food, drinks should be cheaper.
