busy place, lots going on and getting busy for the evening, the bros and I enjoyed a couple drinks here before moving on, did not eat here. Parking good plenty of taxi's.

Little variety of food. You can only order the full menu, it is not possible. Just eat some potatoes or onion rings with your drink, otherwise a 10

Nice afternoon, nice place staff that served us were the slowest ever, to the point we were going to leave. The only things that stopped a 5 star rating!

Sick of the sticky tables must have used the wrong varnish 😕.love the extension but could do with a food menu tapas for the oldies early pm on a Friday after all we are the ones with the money in this area 😜.kids can have it after 9pm !! I used to love early Fri but spoilt by loud DJ ,there is room for everyone just get the times right .Over 50's aren't dead yet 😁 xx

Had a drink while waiting for others before we went to the upstairs pizzeria. The bar staff were lovely. The place I can imagine being a great spot in the summer . Good sized carpark. Was a tad tired in places . Over all a good spot .

Went to bottomless brunch service was amazing by Mark Adam kai and Erin really friendly and made sure our glass and drinks were always topped up mark was very helpful explaining from the start how it works Adam kept the drinks flowing kai angering just added to the mix lively friendly helpful staff which made us deffo go bk thanks to you all xx

Went to bottomless Brunch during their last available slot, 5pm. Our food didn’t arrive until almost 6 and it was freezing cold, the cheese on the fries and been melted and went hard again, pizza was freezing too so we were quite disappointed with that however our server was absolutely lovely, unfortunately didn’t catch her name, she had black hair plaited back? She was super attentive and we never had to wait for a drink and the drinks were really nice too! She was definitely the saving grace.

Riverbar is the perfect place for any occasion, the food is always cooked to perfection with a unique array of menu items, the cocktails are fantastic and the staff are always so polite and accommodating! Can not recommend this bar enough :)

We stumbled upon this place by accident as we were on a bike ride, having lived in the bournmoor area since December we were struggling to find anywhere modern and young, we passed the river bar on a Saturday afternoon around 3 pm and it was extremely busy so we went home and decided to return and take a look , I have to say it is extremely good there seems to be a mix of young and old people and the atmosphere was great the drinks prices are about average and they do serve food although we had already ate but looking at the menu it seems nice good bar food and they do two cocktails for £10 from 4 till 7 which is a great deal all in all a great find and we will return

Been many times before. Often visit on a Thursday when it's 2 for 1 cocktails. Can be pricey otherwise. Bit small inside but they have a lovely outside area too. Food is lovely

Went for a drink on bank holiday Sunday, was awful, full of very young drinkers, who were shouting over the top of the music. Left after one drink.

Wow where do I start? A pub rammed to the rafters with pre-pubescent , barely legal kids that resembled a chimps tea party. In fact that’s disrespectful to chimps! It’s quite clear that covid can’t enter the river bar because any lockdown rules are completely disregarded. Near us was a large table that appeared to be having a game of musical chairs with another table, which was quite apt for average age of the your guests. The table was housing anywhere between 8 to 10 at time. Unless I’m mistaken, I thought covid guidelines stated 6 people per table? Movement around the bar was also a joke! Signs saying wear a mask which were not adhered to or even policed by the door staff - who quite clearly stuck to their title, as they didn’t move from the door. To summarise the river bar..... it’s like a Monet painting. From a distance it looks nice, but when you get close it’s a mess.

Visited the RB with a few friends on Saturday 24 April. Within minutes of being seated we were asked by 3 staff members if we wanted to order even though it was very busy with every table occupied. The staff are really friendly, helpful and offer an excellent service. A special mention to Danielle who manages the team and runs a slick operation. Not only does she greet the customers with a smile. but takes food and drink orders, cleans and disinfects the tables and brushes the floor. A real gem for her employers!

Now in this type of climate with the cases on rise you would think the staff of river bar would have to wear a mask now all on shift bar one who I'm understanding is a senior member of staff... Which is laughable in itself is walking around serving customers without wearing a mask it has made me feel very uncomfortable and less safe... If she's wearing an invisible mask would love to know where she got it from...

Orders wings and a few other sides to share - no side plates, no napkins. Sick to death of going in and being asked to move from where we are sitting. The lady who is the manager is so rude , feel like we are at school being told off by the headmistress. This place needs to decide what type of customer it wants to attract, if your over 30 ,once you get to 7pm , you are made to feel very unwelcome

The River Bar has just launched a new menu- seemingly back to basics and what they do best- good old burgers and fries. There’s a huge choice of burgers sides and fries and other stuff- I went for the Hot Chick buttermilk chicken in a brioche bun with other bits and I upgraded to the cheese and bacon fries which was the best decision I’ve made this week. Pint of Moretti went down perfectly with it. Go there- there are other things on the menu too, but the burgers are wonderful. Ding dong

After our meal upstairs we decided to have a look in the river bar . Only two staff on and half price cocktails so every body was ordering cocktails so you had to wait and wait and wait . Eventually we got served and found a table , a very dirty table . My wife stood at the end of the bar for more than five minutes trying to get someone’s attention to clean it , but the staffs attention to detail on seeing someone standing there for so long was non existent . My wife had to go to the back bar to ask someone to clean it . All I can say it was done in a slap dash way and there was still food clinging to the edges of the table . The mannerism and attitude of the young staff needs addressed otherwise this place will plummet even further down than it already is

We have found the food standard very inconsistent here, however today was probably one of the best meals we have had here. I understand a new chef is in situ and this was reflectied in the quality and presentation of food served.The garlic mushrooms were tasty and attractively served. The childrens potato skins were very tasty. Boys pizzas came with ample toppings and for once weren’t over cooked. The Fiume pasta was delicious and the chicken and bacon in good supply. Both my husband and I thought the main portion sizes were much improved. My complements to the chef.Service was a little slow but not a problem for us. I just felt sorry for the one guy who was on his own for a while.Excellent meal and good value for money.

Disappointed/annoyed to be told by the young(ish) lad serving that, whilst standing at the bar ordering food with a friend, I should have ordered my food at the same time as my friend to save him having to take my order back through. At first I thought it was banter but then realised from his next response he was unprofessional, miserable and a jobsworth: when I asked what a burger came with for dietary requurements, I got the response "nee idea". What a joke! A gentleman in a shirt (presumably the manager) then had to interject and explain.If that's the level of professionalism given, my friends and I certainly won't be returning or recommending this place.

Arranged a thursday night out with friends for cocktails and tapas. It was half price cocktails in Riverbar however the menus were taken away at 6.25pm and we were told we could not order food. Very disappointing. We ended up going to Havelock for food. This is second time the kitchen has been closed early evening when we have visited.

What a absolute joke, happy hour asked for a pint of cider and a small glass of wine yes that’s £6:50. Sit down and see it’s £2:50 a pint of cider and a Large glass of wine £4. I returned to the bar, is it happy hour the barmaid replies YES I say should I have got a large glass of wine instead of a small glass yes, but unfortunately you didn’t ask for large one. Totally unprofessional.

We popped in for a quick meal and drinkon Valentine's fay. However, I don't know if the staff got our order food wrong or the chef is purely usless. We have been there 2 weeks before and the we heard the chef telling the staff he stoped serving food, at 1pm in the afternoon!!! It only started at 12! Then an hour late he changed his mind and start serving food again. This time around however, we order what it suppose to be a nice giant fish burger which basicly was served as frozen cod fish fingers in a bun with no sauce on! It did specified mushy peas, it didn't came with that. We asked for, and we got some over microwaved frozen garden peas. I asked for the salt and pepper squid and got a bowl of chips for some reason. The wings we ordered weren't even prepared, the end bit wasn't chopped of, they were chewey and it suppose to be BBQ sauce on, not 1 with sweet chilli and the rest some tiny little drop of bbq on!!! You could tell they were deepfried and then finished in the oven for s bit longer. Since the new hotel chain took over this place is ridiculous in terms of food quality. They had much more choice of food before and better quality. So it's either the case of, management sit down and have good think about where things go wrong and how they can improve or just give up because it's no point for us, the customers, spending money when the customer service is going down.

I ate here most recently on a Tuesday evening with my partner before the quiz. Luckily, the food is half price on Tuesdays. I ordered the fish burger and asked for sweet potatoes fries with it instead of the regular chips, which I didn’t get. The “giant battered cod finger” with tartar sauce and a bun sounded lovely, unfortunately I got two large bog standard fish fingers on a dry bun. When I asked for some sauce to go with my otherwise totally dry meal, it took ten minutes and asking two people to arrive.

Dropped in here after a walk around the river. Very impressed with the food, excellently cooked and service was first class. Very reasonably priced too.

Haven't been for a while but decided to eat here on a Saturday lunchtime as it had been recently refurbished. First impressions, looked a lot smarter however little things like the floor still sticky from the night before just make it feel grubby. Ordered the same drinks as what i would normally at the nearby havelock and was surprised that it was cheaper. Bar staff friendly and prompt. Sat down looked at the limited menu, which to be fair had popular things on it and was fine for bar food. I ordered a burger and chips which was fine for bar food and my wife had the "cod dog". Cod dog arrived with tartar sauce missing, however was very surprised at what was a very decent sized and tasty piece of fish. BUT SERVED IN A RIDICULOUSLY SMALL HOTDOG BUN. Honestly, yes its bar food and if it hadn't been for the stupid (pre sliced defosted) hotdog bun it would have been fine (see pic). Why not just serve in a decent bit of bread or a stottie or something?These are the little things that let places down, along with dirty toilets and the already mentioned sticky floor from the Friday night before. Spend thousands refurbishing then don't get the basics right!! Very average but will always thrive with the young crowd and location.

RiverBar has always been good. After the recent refurb it’s even better; well done on some quality barfitting. Bigger tables, more seating, soft furnishings, new lighting, and thankfully a new ceiling. Gone are the louvre doors painted red and yellow and blue which to me always looked like a job lot from B&Q; bought to cover some flaking plastering or something. I hope the place does very well indeed. We shall be returning as regulars

Booked a table for the Tuesday half price meals. The River Bar burger was delicious and very filling - couldn't eat the chips. We had a 4 year old with us but the bar doesn't cater for children particularly. I couldn't see a children's menu and there were no chicken nuggets available (She is a picky eater). But she enjoyed her ice cream. Staff helpful. Being half price night it was great value for money. I'd recommend you book ahead as virtually all the tables were reserved.

Mi yo y mi novio llamamos hoy (06/06/18) con nuestro perro. La acogida y el servicio fueron fantásticos, nos hicieron sentir muy bienvenidos. Le dieron a mi perro agua y algunos empleados salieron a ver al perro. La comida era excelente y nuestro camarero era igual de amable, nos habló sobre sus 2 lanos de chocolate, que una vez más fue un toque personal para el servicio. En general fue una gran tarde algo que no encuentras en mi pub, especialmente con un perro akita.

Llamé el lunes a la hora del té para el trato de hamburguesa a mitad de precio. Pedimos bebidas y luego pedimos comida. La comida tardó casi una hora (el bar estaba vacío) y una de las hamburguesas no era comestible. Nos dijeron que no había chef en el pub y que venía comida del restaurante. Se ofreció un reembolso y una bebida gratis, pero aún así fue horrible.

Visité aquí para aprovechar al máximo la oferta de cóctel a mitad de precio. No nos decepcionó y probamos algunos. Habíamos reservado una mesa pero no había reserva cuando llegamos. Afortunadamente, no fue un problema ya que había muchas mesas gratis. Parece que hay una escasez de algunos de los ingredientes necesarios para algunos de los cócteles, pero debido a que el menú era tan extenso, no fue un problema. Aparte de algunos problemas iniciales, disfrutamos de nuestra tarde y la comida y las bebidas eran realmente buenas.

Came to the riverbar last night and couldn’t of asked for anything better. One of the bartenders called Dylan was excellent as he had a positive attitude toward all the customers and his service skills were exceptionally amazing as he always came over and asked if we were alright with drinks, honestly couldn’t ask for a better bartender

Recientemente visité el bar River ya que la mayoría de los fines de semana, sin embargo, a pesar de un montón de perseverancia en los últimos años (sí, años) la cerveza no hay nada mejor. Tenía una pinta de Fosters supuestamente pero siempre plana y sin sabor, probamos la Tuborg y sorprendentemente esta probado el mismo como la fomenta, cómo extraño! ! !

No estoy seguro de qué mercado River Bar es su objetivo, pero de los tres pubs en Bonemill Lane no parecen ser hasta la competencia. El servicio es básico, sin participación del personal en todos y, después de una espera donde nos parecía invisible, nos quedamos con la sensación de que los clientes eran una molestia. Yo podría haber vivido con eso si las bebidas no eran horribles. Pedimos una pinta de frutos oscuros y una pinta de cerveza. Los frutos oscuros sabía de químicos y mi marido estuvo de acuerdo su bebida era similar. En este punto nos decidimos ordenar comida para evitar nuevas decepciones.

La comida aquí es mal, y hay varias cosas que estoy muriendo para probar, pero la actitud del personal del bar (no todos, pero la mayoría es más que una broma! ! No sé si te odian sus vidas o trabajos, pero de cualquier manera...

Checked website to make sure the 50% off food and cocktails was still available on a thursday as visited before christmas and the food was first class. However on arriving had to ask bar staff if they were open as no one else was there. When i asked about the half price food and cocktails i was told they now do it on a monday. Bought drinks and while we were there several people came in but left without purchasing a drink . Will definatley return on a monday . However it may be helpful to update your website as it still shows 50% off as Thursdays.

Reserved a seat which was just as well as it was pretty full. Drinks and food 1/2 price. Delicious sweet potatoes fries. Staff rushed off their feet but still smiled

Witnessed a bouncer punch someone outside on Friday night. Never again will I set foot in a pub where I don't feel safe. Absolute disgraceful behaviour by the people who are there to protect you.

I am not a fan over River Bar on a weekend, the drinks are quite expensive but is what you would expect for good quality cocktails and plays strange house music. On a Thursday they do everything half price, including food and cocktails. Came here for my boyfriend's birthday on a Thursday and had a really great night. The sharing platter, which we got half price was amazing. The bar had a really good atmosphere and played good music.

Been awhile since i had been but still never failed to impress. The sunday roast was delicious! Reasonably priced too. Staff where friendly and helpful would recommend to anybody

Have been here for lunch the last few weeks, at least once a week. Food is fab and great value. Cocktails are amazing and the young girl who is usually on her own in the day serving deserves a pay rise she goes out of her way to make sure every visit is spot on.

Me and a mate visited here as we were in the area. We visited in a Wednesday evening where they have a wings night on. Basically 25 pence per wing in denominations of 5 wings. They had a fair choice of wing flavours. Surroundings are nice enough and the quality of the decor was canny. We were both horrified when we ordered a couple of beers and the bar maid felt it necessary to trim the head off both beers with her bottle opener that come out of her jeans pocket. After she used it to take the head from our pints her male colleague used it to open a couple of bottles of beer. We seen her again do exactly the same to someone else's drink. It's not good hygiene practice using utensils on customers drinks being stored in your jeans pocket never mind sweaty hands and what ever else she used it for that we didn't see upon our visit.The wings we had were OK nothing special but we're good value. It's just a shame that poor hygiene by the bar staff was witnessed a couple of times on our visit. Staff training needs to be improved to prevent things like this.

On the Riverside, great location for a walk. Modern with great food and surroundings. The service is friendly, quick and efficient. You can sit outside with great views of the countryside and river. You won't be disappointed. It can get busy though! Enjoy!!

Visited with a couple of friends for food and cocktails.. Food was lush.. Nachos portion size was huge.. So tasty.. Enough for 2 to share. Cocktails were good too.. Lots of choice. Couldn't fault the service. Will be back.

We opted for the mini burger sliders and a chocolate waffle for desert - both were amazing! Been here twice now and its deffinitly one of my favourite bars in the North East.

I visited here the other day and it was very quiet, being a weekday lunchtime. The first thing we noticed was that the menu was very limited and not the menu that is advertised on their website, leading us to have to rethink our meal orders. As nothing was really catching my eye, I went for a cheeseburger and asked them to add ketchup, mustard and tomato for me, which they did willingly. This came with skinny fries and coleslaw. I also ordered a J2O and it came to £9.85 altogether. When it was brought to us on a tray, it looked ok but nothing like what they advertise. My burger was nice but just average really. The chips didn't have much taste, and tasted like cheap skinny oven chips and the coleslaw was strangely spiced, I couldn't decide if I liked it or not. They brought us a selection of four sauces which included ketchup, mustard, BBQ sauce and hot sauce. I couldn't believe that they didn't have normal ketchup and it was a Bloody Mary one with alcohol in that tasted terrible. After that I ordered a Chocolate Fudge Brownie Sundae for £4.95. This consisted of brownies, vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce and cream. It tasted ok, I would have expected the brownies to be warm but it did seem more like chocolate cake than brownie. The toilet facilties weren't very impressive either. There were six toilets with three of them being out of order and one that didn't lock, and they weren't particularly tidy.Overall, the food was average but I think there are better burger places out there for a similar price.

After having good service from the girl at the bar we sat down and waited for our meal, my lunch then came which looked lovely(not complaining about the food) and my friends did not come... 15 minutes later and hers turned up mine was stone cold by this time and hers had half the things missing off which was included normally we wouldn't be this fussy but the principle of how long we waited and then this. The young boy who brought the food did not even apologise for the wait but he must have noticed the length of time it took between the two meals. Another 5 mins later and her food finally come to which mine was now freezing. Bad service on behalf of the river bar

After living in the area for over a year, both myself and my partner had heard great reviews about here yet only decided tonight to give it a try! Food was to die for and drinks were very reasonably priced as I was expecting them to be extortionate much to my surprise! Not sure what all the reviews were meaning by the staff being ignorant as the 3 staff members I came into contact with were both lovely and attentive! Only downfall I have is we couldn't find a seat for a good half hour after arriving and we couldn't find a drinks menu as the cocktails sound lovely but hasn't put us off and were hoping to come back next week to enjoy a full afternoon here!! Can't wait already!

I last reviewed the River Bar earlier in the year and gave it a glowing report but did mention that that there was problems getting served especially on a Thursday when cocktails are half price and you just want a pint of beer.Great news! The problem is solved as you can get served at the side bar for beer and the staffing levels have increased so you don't have to wait long at the main bar.However, the best thing to happen since last review is the loyalty scheme they have implemented. For every £10 you spend in River Bar or upstairs in the Fiume you get £1 credited to your loyalty card. How good is that?So tonight News Years Eve I will hopefully be able to redeem my Sweet Rewards points for a bottle of Moet Chandon ( Rose if I have enough points).Don't want to outdo the missus but think she is redeeming her Boots Advantage points for a No 7 eyebrow trimmer for me! Think Sweet Rewards just gets the edge over Boots Advantage!Would also say that staff in RB are great, from the management to the glass collectors.Best place to drink in Washington!
