Used a Wowcher deal £14 for two and a drink, The wine was nice and chilled tasted good. The food was a little disappointing from all the hype on the website. The best part was the chips and wedges section with the chicken drumsticks. The restaurant was empty the whole time we was there, the staff were very friendly im guessing the food had been there since lunch time as it wasn't very hot by 7pm. The fresh cooked food was ok by far the hottest in heat there, but quite tasteless. Overall ok for what we paid wouldn't go back or recommend, we both had a dodgy tummy the next morning.

I booked this place for my mums birthday. This place was so disgusting & awful! No way was there over 100 dishes more like 20. The food wasn't cooked fresh! It was cold! The waiters were rude &the service was poor! My nephew ended up going mc Donald's! I found a LADYBIRD in my food. Yes a lady bird, when I alerted the waiter he told me it was because the door was open. For me that was the last straw! The chairs were stained all over! The bathroom was a mess, broken dryer to dry your hands! Messy toilets. We were extremely unhappy with food and service! We still had to pay the full bill. They didn't even give us 50% of the bill or nothing! When we suggested this the supervisor laughed at us! They just didn't give a dam! Even though we was unhappy, they said the manager wasn't available so he as the supervisor couldn't reduce the bill, he had no authority! What kind of non sense is that! My mother whose birthday it was,was so upset she was crying. I wouldn't advise anyone to go there! Their website makes out it's a world buffet! There was no Mexican or Thai to eat! The only Italian was pizza which looked like the one from Iceland freezers. The sushi looked like it was from yesterday's dinner night, there was flys all around the table. I wouldn't advise anyone 2 go here. POOR! If I could I would give no stars.

I've never been to one of these world buffets before and wouldn't again. We tried to book but was told it was full and to turn up and hope they had a space, we arrived and it was half empty so we were quickly seated and our drinks order taken then we were told we could get food. We went and filled our plates, the food wasn't great, there was a fair choice but mainly of similar stuff. The best bit was probably the chicken and onion wing bar bit. The crumble was dried on to the dishes. I wasn't impressed. Worst of all was after ordering our drinks numerous times they finally turned up luke warm and whatever they were serving was not real coke or pepsi. I was glad to leave. Finally to top it off my little boy had a poorly belly the next day and the only thing I can put this down to was the prawns he ate from the cold buffet bit.

I went yesterday. When I booked the person suggested a time after a large booking so queues wouldn't be long and food wouldn't run out. So good start. Arrived and seated quickly. There were different options available Indian, Thai, Chinese, salads and 3 sushi, plus a pasta dish and a Mexican fish. With the bad reviews we expected less options and similar flavours. But the dishes all tasted different and were nice. I particularly like the freshly cooked noodles. You can ask the chef for additional ingredients if things run out. He cooked it up nicely and I loved it. He was also friendly and a service with a smile. The chairs and seating was fine. It was busy but only 3 waiters so ordering drinks was a bit slow but they did their best. Waiters and chef were all nice. No rudeness there. Not sure what all the negative comments were about. Food could have been warmer my guests said. It was ok for me. I wish there were more Chinese starters but there were lots of main dish options. I had a nice time. I got a Wowcher so didn't pay full price.

MORE AT TripAdvisor

In 44 years eating on this planet, this is the worst eating and dining experience in my life. Before I get personal, here are the facts:They claim to provide world buffet. Rubbish! Some remnant of a crab stick rolled in horrible rice is not Japanese food.Water thin sweetcorn soup, water thin sauces, and carrots (acting as a fillers) in sweet and sour chicken, in fact carrots and courgettes in most of their oriental selection of abominations of oriental cuisine. Starter selection included a selection of shrivelled and droopy leaves dotted with what looked like couscous. Talking of shrivelled and droopy, I will comment on their staff later.Starters are a dried up, greasy mess as must be the Chef’s thought process.I asked a waiter for fresh wraps for the Fajitas dish and he suggested Nan bread! I should have launched the last remaining wrap as a flying saucer at his thick head (the wrap was hard enough and his head dense enough to absorb the impact). To represent North Africa we have a labelled Chef’s special Moroccan dish. Special needs more like! In a world rich with diverse language, poetry, simile and metaphors; the words to be used here can only be “looks like excrement!” Not sampled as I am not into that particular deviant fetish. On to India. As an Indian I say shame on you that you represent our beautiful cuisine in such an abhorrent fashion. Lentils are thinner than the diarrhoea shooting from my bottom this morning. I tried all their curries and they are the worst I have ever eaten (Manchester curry mile, Southall, Green Street, Brick Lane, India and Pakistan). Dried up, cardboard tasting floating chicken and meat bits that had given up all hope of being saved from puddles of brown, dismal polluted excuses for sauces.Desserts:Bits of cake, jelly that had melted like the hopes of this place ever having success, Indian red (not normal colour) galab jaman Indian dough desserts that had been left abandoned and had dried of shame. You would think cut water melon cannot be ruined but the occasional flies soon ended that (perhaps they were the back-up boys referred to by the waiter later on, see below).Staff:I complained to the early evening Manager who was pleasant and empathetic. He left later on perhaps to end his shift or search his inner being to question how he ended up working in a living nightmare. He did not defend the indefensible and brought out the Chef (see photos). Chef’s response: “… different tastes… can’t make everyone happy… doing my best…”Thank God this Chef is not a mechanic as his best would leave you with wheels missing and a car without clue or direction. I discovered later he is related to the owner; 2 observations: an answer to how he got the job and please, oh please stop the breeding! Now the waiters. Positive: One white waiter (also in photos) asked at one point if all was OK and was told “No” apart from his kind question. I feel his question really meant “help me I am on less than minimum wage and don’t get to keep my tips.” Here is a tip: RUN! Don’t look back. RUN!Other staff were at best indifferent zombies wandering aimlessly in a barren wasteland of buffet hell apocalypse. When marginally active they contaminated the washed cutlery by drying them with a rag of a dish cloth with their grubby hands (no gloves) that they cleared used plates with.On leaving my deeply, disappointed 71 year old Father tried to give constructive advice that was resisted. Frustrated he called it as it is and told the scrawny, weasel of a late night manager that his place was rubbish. He and the other waiter became aggressive at which point I guided my Father out. I am a 19 stone trained Martial Artist and body builder and was threatened that they will call their boys (see flies feeding on water melon above). Heads up maggots, do the maths… really? You would need many more 5 foot nothing, skinny and shrivelled reprobates to come close to achieve that fantasy. In this instance the pen is mightier than the sword. On coming home and settling my Mum who finds it difficult to walk and whose 67 Birthday was ruined; we as a family researched this hell hole and discovered people of the world are united in condemnation of this world buffet: “…no words…stay away… awful… give it a miss… rat excrement...nasty… beware the staff… boring and dull… let down… rubbish food… forced to pay beforehand…” there are many, many more. As for the good ones: nonsense, they wrote them themselves!!!Food hygiene rating is the lowest one could get: “1”We are reporting you to Camden Council. We are reporting you to Group on. We will spread the word to prevent potential customers being duped by their web site: “... an exciting new world buffet restaurant … offering good quality food at an affordable price, but with a far greater variety of food on offer”. You sad liars!Gordon Ramsay would blow this place up. We got Group on vouchers and paid £6.25 per head instead of £14. Get what you pay for? To summarise rename Tara Tari to Tata Tati (Indian for Testicles Poo) and I would not pay for that either.Shakespeare said “If music be the food of love, play on...” I say shoot the entire orchestra, burn them and bury them in blessed soil… bury them deep.

Worst ever eating experience of my life! Tara Tari translates to “Quickly Quickly”….. follow the meaning, leave quickly, very quickly. Website deceiving…… you think you are in for a banquet from around the world, unfortunately couldn’t be further from the truth. Website quotes that the chefs have a wealth of experience in their chosen cuisine…..Really!!! One chef related to the owner who clearly doesn’t have the experience of good world class cuisine. Food was an insult to the countries they are promoting. Dried up, lukewarm, unrecognisable, insipid mush that had been sitting there all night. Sweetcorn Soup was watered down with a few sweetcorn kernels. As I filled the ladle I thought chicken had been added, to my horror it was a poached egg swimming in murky water. Since when is Sweetcorn Soup made with eggs? Desserts, all three of them, left uncovered for the flies to feast on….even they seemed to leave disappointed! Staff are rude and unprofessional. No attention paid to the customers, nobody came to the table to see if everything was ok other than to bring one round of warm diet cokes. Save your money, DO NOT eat at this restaurant. No food hygiene certificates, checked the website and they only received a 1 star rating, lowest you could possibly get!

The chicken khorai was delicious (and tender) as was the pilau rice and chicken biriyani and thai green curry. My parter and I did not like sweet & sour chicken and the noodles were bland and a bit cold. Wrap for fajitas was stale and poppadoms didn't taste fresh. Yes, toilets did smell of wee. Drinks were a bit costly. Eight quid for two soft drinks. Not bad but not great and not worth the full price. There was no chef present to cook for us, so that felt a little let down. Maybe if the chef had been there and we had some nicer selections of food, we both would have enjoyed it more.

Waiter came over after we had sat down asked us if we had booked (very unfriendly) only about four other tables taken so not over run with customers, we were under the impression it was a world buffet well NO it more like an indian one with only one pizza and soggy pasta with broccoli thrown in for the Italian, spring rolls for Chinese, what tasted like warmed up chips and hardly any meat in the curry and the choice oh no sorry just the one very sad looking dessert to have. There are different varieties of curries and chicken; but the only thing we did not like was the chicken was dry. I explained this to the manger which he has acknowledged. Staff were very helpful, free Wi-fi available on site to pass the time. .Place was packed with customers. The bad bit of this restaurant was the chair which had stain marks. The other dishes did not even seem appealing to the eyes, and I'm not a fussy person but especially the Mexican dishes were very stale. The beetroot was dry and smelt gone off but they said it was a vinegar that they used which my friend was eating and was put off also of the cold noodles. We have eaten at Tara Tari on six or seven occasions over the last two years, when we visit from Australia. At the beginning the food was well priced and the variety more than acceptable. But the last two visits in June and August have been marred by grumpy staff. The 'greeter' was not happy when we arrived. The evening feature live cooking station didn't seem to be working from 8:30 onwards - the chef is always the friendliest staff member. I asked for two pancakes - the waitress queries 'two?'. I confirmed, yet only one arrived. The sullen and angry cashier was the worst he has ever been - treating my daughter with scorn when she paid - leaving us walking out asking ourselves 'what was that all about?' I think that will be the last time.

Each time I have visited I have had a very enjoyable meal – OK, it’s not fine dining but it doesn’t claim to be and you wouldn’t expect it to be for the price you are being asked to pay. The food has always been hot, tasty and there is plenty of choice. It is a great place to bring my teenage son as he is always hungry and eats so much! I particularly like the Indian food. The drinks are of good quality and the wine glasses are always sparkling clean – (I notice this as some places seem to have glasses clouded by the dishwasher and/or with lipstick marks on them – but not here). I have always found the staff to be friendly and helpful. My family like this restaurant so much that both my children chose to come here for their birthday dinners rather than anywhere else – so as you can see my experience does not echo that of some of these other reviewers.

Went with my husband. Bit far from where we lived but because we want to try out new restaurants, we didn't mind that. As soon as we arrived, there were only 2 or 3 customers including us. Was so disappointed. Worst buffet we had been to. Foods were rubbish, so ordinary. Not one fish dish in sight. We're better off eating at Mc Donald's for that matter. Place not organised, bit dirty looking. And the drinks we ordered was supposed to be homemade lemonade. Because of the steep price, we expected a real homemade one but it looked and tasted as the ordinary fizz drink.. No bits as you would expect for a real lemonade. Tsktsk.. Felt like we'd been ripped off. So disappointing.. Never again.. Their website is so misleading as well.. No Japanese food even, one dish.. If there is a zero rating, I could give them zero. I don't know how they could have won an award..

We visited Tara Tari on Saturday at 11:30 but they send us away saying is still closed. We come back at 12 and we were first guests. Staff were polite but not very interested to serve. We used Wowcher coupon but they didn't offer any wine or drink. They don't say much. But food was very nice. It was fresh, delicious in we have a lot to choose. Nice meet, good prepared salads. Over role it was not so bad.

I visited Tara Tari on a Wowcher coupon. Upon arrival the gentleman who greeted me was very polite and accommodating. From the way the made it sound on the phone I expected the place to be a lot busier and from photos online I expected it to be a bit bigger as well. That aside the atmosphere was decent, decor was fair, chairs could really do with a good cleaning/reupholstering as they were very stained.Onto the food. The food was DISAPPOINTING. The selection was decent enough but the taste was not. I had some sweet and sour chicken, wedges, coleslaw, samosas and onion bagahi. The sweet and sour chicken was way too sweet and left a strange after taste, the coleslaw you could tell was either reused or left out for too long, the samosa and onion baghi were fried in reused oil. My first plate was seriously unappetizing and I had to leave the majority of it. I tried the stir fry bar next, this was a good deal better and the stir fry was prepared right there. The desert was fair, vanilla cake (guess you can't get too much wrong with that).Weird little side note. I asked for a Fanta and the bartender served me orange juice with soda water and charged me 2.50 quid! That definitely needs to be fixed.Staff was quite friendly and helpful, very polite. No complaints there.Overall thoughts: with a bit of a refurbish and some revamping in the food arena this could be a good place to visit. As it currently stands I wouldn't suggest going out of your way to have a meal there. I'm just happy I didn't have to pay full price.

Tried this place out as it was recommended to me, ok let me start with the food, didn't look appetising to start with, salad looked like it was a day old and most dishes looked like they haven't been cooked fresh just re-heated, the starters were all over the place people using there hands to put food on there plate, really unhygienic.. The empty dishes were not replaced during the duration I was there but I suppose I didn't stay long, the choices for the main dishes were not appealing at all, some of the food didn't even taste like what it was suppose to be? Finally desert was very limited and again it was like just put there for the sake of it, tried the apple crumble with custard, again very disappointing, it was all cold including the custard. The only positive the service was ok. Unfortunately wouldn't go back or recommend this place.

I have visited this restaurant a couple of times in the past, and remembered it as being a venue where though the food quality wasn't the best, had a vast selection of cuisines and was a fun place to visit. My friends and I visited Tara Tari today for a birthday celebration, and thanks to this experience will not be returning. The 'manager' made us feel unwelcome from entry, forcing us to pay beforehand (though this is not common practice in this restaurant) because he didn't seem to trust that we would pay! He was then continually rude to us on a number of occasions, such as when one member of our party asked if he could have another set of cutlery to eat his dessert with, and was refused for some reason, and told to 'use that one brother', with the manager pointing at a fork that had already been dirtied from the savoury food. I have worked in the service industry myself for a number of years, and found our treatment completely unwarranted and souring. After we had finished, and I had just ordered a £4.25 pint of lager, we were told we had to leave because our table had been booked, even though we had booked ourselves, and had only been there approximately an hour. I'm not sure what this staff member's problem was (all the other staff were polite, though obviously inexperienced) and he successfully made our trip into a bit of a joke. Not particularly appealing considering the already unimpressive prices for the buffet and drinks. Never again.

Staff needs to be trained.Management only seems to spend additional time on tripadvisor to respond to people's reviews clarifying their great experience (apparently). They only keep toting a random food award they managed to pay their way through.Seriously, you got to have air conditioning in a this big a sized restaurant... We, and I noticed few other tables too, were actually sweating and uneasy by the time we finished the meal. A couple of our friends actually left the table to breath easy outside.I got a groupon deal n thought it would be worth it, what I blundered on was that I did not take the reviews on tripadvisor seriously. The staff carries a rude behaviour and unprofessional way of handling complaints. The management keeps repeating on tripadvisor to have sorted the matter at the time of complaint, but, ALL the staff there seems to have an attitude problem. While all we asked was to replace the coke we ordered because it was genuinely fizz-less. A squash in still water would have more bubbles!! And the waiter started debating over it...Anyway, the food was hovering around average and below average. Pluses-The variety was immense3-4 items were actually nice; spicy chicken wings, stir fry station (live), chicken tikka masala, lamb bhuna and creme' brulee' in desserts. There was a pancake station while I didnt find them catering to even a single pancake request...Still the place had quite a turnout. Probably everyone got pulled in by the 10 pounds buffet deal from Groupon and partially coz it was a saturday...

The concept is a good idea - international buffet, but they failed badly on delivery and quality. The staff appeared to not want to be there, ordered drinks they forgot to give them to us had to ask for the drinks three times!! The first thing that worried me was food poisoning, so I stuck with rice, chickpeas and spinach, which was ok. But I saw some freshly cooked tandoori chicken wings and took a chance, but unfortunately they not cooked properly, the chicken was pink. There was a large selection of deserts I had the vanilla cake and cream brulee, it appeared that the vanilla cake had mice droppings on it, I was so upset as I had already eaten 1/2 if it. Had a row with my partner for taking me to such a terrible restaurant, he had purchased a groupon deal. I said to him you have wasted your money, next time research a restaurant on trip advisor before buying a groupon deal.

Like a number of previous reviews I had a Groupon voucher and Tara Tari sounded like an interesting and inexpensive meal out. In total four of us dined.Parking was relatively straightforward as after 7pm the bus lane on Finchley Road is fair game. As you enter there is a bar to the left, three rows of tables stretching towards the back of the restaurant where the buffet is located. There is a fairly good array of dishes. I enjoyed the green thai chicken curry and rogon josh. A lot of the dishes were not to my taste and some looked to have been on the buffet for quite some time. Much of the food tasted quite fatty but it was edible and there was quite a lot of choice. There is a tepenyaki chef there to cook fresh noodle dishes and prepare fajitas. These were good. Most of the staff were nice and helpful. The soft drinks we had were quite pricey. A small coke will set you back £2.50 and a coffee slightly more. The toilets were not well maintained and the hand dryer held on the wall by strips of brown tape!Overall I liked the restaurant but it's not somewhere I would rush back to. Other similar restaurants are slightly better. That said it's ok and at Groupon prices good value.

The food sounded great with a huge selection of cuisines so we thought there would be something for everyone- What a DISAPPOINTMENT. It would have been value for money if the food was anywhere close to what it was portrayed as. The Indian cuisine was ok, everything was absolutely hideous. Bland, dredged in oil that upon tasting it was obvious had been sitting there for an eon. The service was swift and that is the only positive thing I can say. The "sushi" bar consisted of seafood sticks wrapped in rice and seaweed- definitely not sushi!! Waste of time and money. And we were all hungry when we left. Hope the restaurateur is reading these reviews and acts upon then quickly.

Visited this restaurant today with my husband and baby. There is a vast amount of food on offer ( mainly asian) and all of it was hot, fresh and wonderful. The red thai curry was the best we have had in ages! The drinks were not so great- warm apple and orange juices tasted like tesco value stuff and cost £3.25!!! The coke was flat and the glasses were small. Wasnt impressed with the service( except one nice friendly man!) The others were unsmiling, unfriendly and quite rude. Our baby son had dropped some food on the floor and one waitor came along and started sweeping it up, pulling the tables apart in order to reach underneath with his broom while we were still eating! He acted annoyed by the mess and didnt reply when I apologised. The other guy took payment from my husband without a single word! Just handed him the machine. No please, no thank you. Awful service! Need some training I believe. However all in all the food was good enough to make us want to come again... just hope different staff are working! :)

I had a poor first visit but thought I'd give it another go as I saw positive reviews. This was far worse than my first visit, rubbery ,cold food, thought I'd try the Indian as I hadn't before and wish I hadn't bothered. Toilets were filthy..as we're the hygiene standards of some of the waiting staff. If anyone's bought vouchers ..get your money back. It's not even worth the discounted rate. Somehow the management feel that voucher users should be getting substandard service...my suggestion is that less time is spent on the Internet blaggarding customers and go and visit other global buffets such as Cosmos and JRC.. Then go and train the staff and keep your toilets clean...if they are caked in faeces, imagine the germs returning to the table. For every negative review there seems to be excellent reviews, I struggle to see how it's possible to have such contrasts, unless different cooks and managers are on duty .... Or the positive reviews are fake...

We have been to several buffets in the London area, and by far Tara Tari was the worst. Their only semi-decent dishes are the Indian ones, other than that all other dishes were horrendous! Having one-two dishes from a country does not qualify this restaurant to include the cuisine in its title. Sushi was terrible to even look at! We were in and out in under 30 minutes. I've actually been there twice today! The first time I was alone and I was so impressed I went again later with a friend. The staff were very friendly and helpful: they let my friend bring his bike inside, which not everyone does; one man pointed all the vegetarian things out to me; one came running over to me when he thought I'd got something which was not vegetarian as he did not want me to have anything my own principles wouldn't allow and they let us and another group stay for hours without ever getting annoyed. They were very welcoming indeed and they gave me a discount voucher after the first meal which we used with the second. The food was unusually varied for a buffet - it came from so many different countries! It was really good stuff as well. What incredible value it is to be able to eat endless amounts of Indian, Thai, Chinese, Italian and other types of food for those sorts of prices!A great place indeed and so conveniently located right next to a 'bus stop and so no near to two London Overground stations on two different lines (namely Finchley Road & Frognal and South Hampstead) and to Swiss Cottage tube station.

Got a deal to go to this restaurant which is situated almost next to Swiss Cottage Tube.It was quite large inside and tables in very close proximity to each other.nobody explained the way it worked in this all you can eat buffet style restaurant so you just had to figure things out for yourself.first thing I noticed was just how many chicken dishes there were I'm guessing because it's because chicken is cheap. they had one lamb dish and one beef dish some vegetarian dishes too.I was disappointed that in the Italian section they only seemed to have pizza with sparse topping so I never bothered with that. no matter what dish I sampled everything seemed to have an Indian flavour to it be it Chinese or Mexican. Found it a little frustrating that some items on their drinks menu had been discontinued but had not been deleted.Service here would not win any awards but it was ok. I was glad to see that they had fruit on the sweet section and not just the usual array or chocolate cakes etc.To be honest I got full sampling the various foods on offer, would I go for a romantic meal here NO would I go with a group of friends possibly. As long as you like the taste of Indian food you'll be fine Indian Chinese, Indian Mexican Indian Italian etc.
