Vine con un grupo de compañeros de trabajo 10 en total. Todas las muestras que los muchos cócteles precios globales. Toda nuestra comida era excelente bien presentado y sabroso. El ambiente es genial alabándote siempre toe jugar golpecitos canciones en el fondo. Este es un buen lugar para amigos, he estado con mi familia pero no es lo que yo llamo romántico para una comida casual.

Fuimos a este lugar en 2015 Diciembre para una oficina comida de Navidad.Gran error!El personal parecía completamente abrumados por un grupo de 12 - que sería una brisa para la mayoría de los restaurantes.Tuvimos que asiento nosotros mismos - pide el menú - luego después de lo que parecía una eternidad preguntar si no te importa coger nuestros pedidos.8 de 12 órdenes equivocado. Pedí vieiras @ £6,99 . He recibido tres diminutos vieiras muy calientes, que fue una atrocidad.Los platos principales no tarifa mejor - se servía fría, equivocadas pedidos y una mala actitud.Para rematarlo todo lo que queríamos 50 libras por el servicio cuando llegó la factura. No!!Evitar a toda costa!

Visitamos el Mango Shack en Camden para reunirse en Navidad entre amigos. El lugar era tranquilo, pero el ambiente era muy agradable. Tiene un ambiente muy agradable y el personal es muy amable. La comida estaba bien aunque las raciones parecen bastante pequeñas cuando lo primero que ves. Yo tenía la lubina mientras mi novio el pollo Jerk. Ambos disfrutamos mucho de nuestra comida. Tuve el cheesecake de fruta de la pasión para el postre tales era preciosa, aunque podría haber tenido un poco más en el camino de la base de galleta. Un bonito lugar para ir para disfrutar de una velada agradable.

I booked this restaurant for my girlfriends birthday. The reservation went through but when I got to the restaurant it was closed. That just isn't acceptable. If you know you're going to close, why not contact open table so they can decline any reservations rather than people turning up expecting a meal and getting nothing. Very disappointed.

I went with the squad from work for a birthday dinner..firstly I was quite surprised of where is was as I been through camden regularly. But once inside we were extremely impressed with the decor an ambience of the place we couldn&#039;t wait to eat something <br />The food was great could of done with a little more food in the starter but the main was filling and delicious the only reason the food didn&#039;t get a 5star was because the plantain was blacker than Drė lol<br />But overall it was a wonderful experience, and was planning a second visit so it&#039;s such a shame it closed a few days after we went

My date and I were absolutely underwhelmed at the service we experienced here. I had previously eaten here and it was wonderful, but has completely deteriorated. The prices are shockingly terrible and the service is slow. The waitresses are also unattentive and got my order wrong. We&#039;ll never return.

Mi otra mitad había reservado una reserva para la cena de Nochevieja a las 8 de la tarde, recibimos un correo electrónico de confirmación que nuestra reserva se había confirmado. Estábamos muy entusiasmados por la comida todo el día al leer todas las críticas. Viajamos una hora y media para llegar a encontrar el restaurante traslado sólo para el restaurante cerrado!!! No nos informaron que el lugar sería cerradas. Tuvimos que acabar en conseguir una comida para llevar en la tienda local de kebabs porque todo alrededor de la zona estaba completamente lleno. No me quedé impresionado con el servicio con este lugar!

We booked this restaurant for dinner for the 2nd of January on OpenTable. We had a booking and then even received a reminder email about it a few days before. However once we turned up to the restaurant we found it was still closed for the holidays! <br />We had to scramble to find alternative Saturday night plans for our group then and there. It was particularly disappointing as I&#039;d booked this restaurant for everyone and had told them what a great place it was. <br />I couldn&#039;t believe the incompetence of the restaurant and/or OpenTable in allowing people to make online bookings for evenings when the restaurant was completely closed!

Was nice to a notice on the front door saying we are closed and will be open in the new year. Open table or the restaurant didn&#039;t inform us! New Years dinner with the wife was spoiled!

La comida es total increíble. Mis amigos habló sobre este lugar y quería darle una oportunidad así que después de un amigo nuestro queríamos llevarnos por un gracias comida nos pareció que Mango Shack sería el lugar a donde ir.El servicio era excelente y nos las arreglamos para elegir una noche era que no estaba demasiado ocupado, que era una ventaja ya que estaba saliendo de Navidad. La comida era muy agradable y sin duda volveremos aquí.

Whilst the food is amazing the service is very poor. We had to wait a long time for the staters which arrived nearly cold. We had to go out of our way to get attention for drinks and drinks took a very long time to come. The service was not warm or friendly and I received attitude at one specific time. This is a pity as the food was delicious but I will not be going back. The restaurant was empty and we were still ignored.

Visité después de conseguir una recomendación de un amigo que me encantó su experiencia para cenar, así que tenía grandes expectativas.El menú no era tradicionalmente Caribe y las camareras no podrán familiarizarse con cocina caribeña. Nuestra camarera principal apenas hablaba inglés y no podía entender las palabras escritas en el menú, por lo que los platos eran.Mientras que los entrantes era comestible (pasteles de pescado eran un poco aleatorio estilo alternativo que no mejoran en el Caribe método tradicional de servir), mi principal no buen sabor. Tuve la cazuela de mariscos ... con roti (acompañamiento extraño con mejillones, etc. ) Me comí el roti pero no podía comer el marisco. Mi compañero diner tenía el pato, el cual era muy miserable porción para el precio y no tienen ninguna lados, etc.Pedimos postre todavía estaban hambrientos. Sticky toffee pudding no es un plato Caribe pero parecía 'seguros' en las circunstancias. Muy malo! Pastel sabía a que había mucho polvo para hornear y la salsa toffees parecía quemado. Una vez más, no comer los platos. Nunca nadie pregunte si no nos gustaba con la comida, ni nadie pregunte si queríamos más bebidas, etc.que nos dolía tos con las £72 al final de la comida, que casi no comieron ninguno de. No volvería ni se lo recomendaría.

I've been here a few times and the food is always excellent. Would be 5 stars but the last time I went the place was quite smoky due to a dodgy kitchen extract and the service was only OK

Estoy muy decepcionado y molesto porque éste no es un restaurante barato. He estado dos veces en este restaurante y no volveremos por las siguientes razones: -El personal que nos servía no hablaba muy bien inglés, hasta el punto que tenían otro miembro del personal que hablaba mejor inglés, a responder a nuestras preguntas.- No parecen ser cualquiera que vaga de descenso del Caribe, ¿qué es eso?- El miembro del personal que nos servía no sabía lo que era breadfruit y traté de insistir en que el ñame que compró para nosotros fue breadfruit!!!- la comida es muy caro para la calidad y la cantidad que te dan.- Las dos veces que hemos visitado me preguntó si el restaurante está utilizando fungiendo extranjeros gratuitas, como su personal. Puedo ver cómo esto sería una gran experiencia para estudiantes extranjeros que deseen practicar su inglés. No sé, quizás estoy equivocado, pero estoy muy confundido, ya que hay muchos desempleados gente allí, que hablan un inglés excelente y trabajaría para el salario mínimo, pero Mango Shack opta por uso, no Caribe personal, que apenas habla inglés, que sirven comida que saben nada!- No es posible emplear personal que tienen un dominio básico del idioma inglés? Especialmente con los precios que cobran creían??!!!!

Visited here in the early evening and was blown away at the quality of this hidden gem . Situated under a railway arch you would expect it to be noisy, but it's as peaceful and relaxing as can be, coupled with fine dining at reasonable prices and excellent service, this place is a must for anyone visiting camden

I visited this restaurant for the first time for lunch with work colleagues and was impressed with the lovely and interesting decor. My food was nicely presented and tasted very nice. However, there was a 20 minutes wait for our food and when we asked if there would be any free snacks to munch on while we wait, we were swiftly told no and would have to pay for it. It was also a very expensive for a lunch. I would not go back.

We visited as a family of 14 for my brothers Birthday on 24th October 2015. The food was good.No child menu so the children had to have food from the £22 or £26 set menu. One of the waitress' pretended to be the manager when we started to complain. We suspected it was the male looking from accross the bar.The set menu price in the restaurant were more than the prices as advertised on the website.First we were told the rice and plantain was unlimited, then we were told it was a mistake.The staff at times walked past and ignored requests for service and the look on some of their faces were not customer friendly. No one asked how things were going at our table.Customer service was the worst we have ever seen and we will not be returning or recommending the restaurant to anyone.There is absolutely no point in serving good food with unashamedly bad customer service. As the bad customer service will override the quality of the food and that's what customers remember.

At the end of the dinner party we had, the four of us leaving at the very end were stopped by the owner/general manager. He told us we owed 60 pounds in a very rude way, and that we had to pay. We actually were very sure that everyone had paid for their share and stopped to calmly look at the copy receipts they had. Yep, indeed one copy receipt of 60 pounds was missing. We thought of calling our friends or the reasons for this to had happen. So I saw that the tip amount summed 60 pounds and told the owner... 'Let me ask the girl who sorted out the bill calculations if she gave the tip in cash to the waiter, so that would explain the copy receipt missing'. He then yelled at me: 'What?! You dont know how restaurants work or what?! Tips you have to pay along with the bill!!!!!!! I started calling my friend and suddenly the waiter found the missing receipt. The owner was screaming at the waiter too by the way. The waiter had been very nice to us all and was very quick and friendly when we asked him for anything. We even clapped and cheered him at the end of thedinner as we were like 20 people and he managed. Now he was all nervous as the owner was screaming at him in front of us. Really shameful, the food was yummy but the experience left us feeling awkward and disturbed for the night. That guy really needs to learn some manners and take a chill pill. Never going back and will definitely recommend people to not have dinner there.

We went yesterday evening (October 18th, 2015) to celebrate a birthday. The food is ok although prices are very high and portions very small. The service was not good. It took ages to receive our food. When we were leaving the owner had a terrible attitude toward us, as if we were trying to steal from him. He treated us like robbers! When he noticed that it was HIS mistake, that the account was ok and the amount he was complaining was missing was the tip we gave in cash to the waiter, instead of apologising by his miserable behaviour, the told us off! It is a disgrace. I will never come back to such place and I will tell everybody how mean the owner is. Because the waiter very sad told us that as usual he (the owner) will keep the tip. We fell very bad.

I came here for a birthday meal and was impressed at the decor and ambience. The food and cocktails are nice but having had a lot of Caribbean food in various places in London this place lacks the same authenticity and flavour. The food is delicious if you are a beginner to this type of cuisine. The vibe is really nice but the service agreeing with the other reviews is a little slow. Worth a visit though.

So I had been recommended to go to mango shack for my birthday meal. Once we decided to order majority of things on the menu they didn't seem to have at the time, one of the staff who turned out to be the 'manager' turned around and said its not their fault. We then order drinks she came back and said one wasn't available, my friend then said this is ridiculous the so called manager rolled her eyes at us and said u can leave if you don't like it here! For a 'high end Caribbean restaurant' the customer service is appalling! I had to leave on my bday and go else where. This lady deserve to be fired as she is very unprofessional and highly rude, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Would never return again. The staff including the manager are extremely disrespectful. The waiting time for just a drink is ridiculous, after complaining the manger said "if you don't like it just leave" would not recommend to anyone, awful dining experience.

We were happy to experience the space - done nicely, and the dishes were great: Ackee saltfish starter, tiger prawns, sweet potatoes, fish tempura, snapper fillet, goat curry, steamed veg and basmati rice.Between the four of us, it was plenty! No dessert.

I went for dinner with friends at Mango Shack last Saturday.<br /><br />The food was without a doubt lovely. It is a shame the customer service didn&#039;t match up.<br />When we came the restaurant around 6:30pm, it was not as busy however had to wait over 30 mins for our drinks and after it got busy the wait was even longer. To actually get the attention of a waiter was unbelievably hard.<br />Our service charge was £17.80<br /><br />As a group, we didn&#039;t believe the service amount reflected the service we received due to the lack of attention and actual service.<br />The manager came over to ask for the service charge, I tried to explain why we didn&#039;t want to pay that much for service charge. When explaining this to the manager, she was rude and abrupt and stated she doesn&#039;t care and is not going to argue with us as the service charge was optional.<br /><br />I found her manner absolutely disgusting as we were giving her constructive feedback on our dining experience.<br />She wanted to say they had large bookings on the night and I can take that into consideration. <br />However, dining at other resturants as busy as Mango Shack, I have never had to track down a waiter for orders or just to simply order.<br /><br />Ultimately, the staff could not handle a busy night like saturday.Therefore more staff should be drafted in for busy weekend nights.<br /><br />Also the Manager should really work on her customer service skills as it evidently was missing last Saturday.<br /><br />Thank you for the food and will definitely back for the food.

We were late for our booking it didn&#039;t matter they seated us quickly .the waiter I&#039;m sorry I don&#039;t know his name was wonderful gave good recomendations and made me feel more special than my date did. our food came quickly and was delicious .<br />My mai tai cocktail was on point and there were 2 other birthday groups at the time lovely atmosphere . Very pricey would be the only reason I wouldn&#039;t go again unless I&#039;m lucky enough to find a date who would be willing to pay next time .thank you for a lovely evening .

The staff are very rude, disrespectful and unorganised, this restaurant needs training for customer service with hospitality especially the acting manager who called a customer a 'B*#%h'. They need to know their menu to avoid any complications with the customer. The waiters never asked their customers if they're ok or if they need anything, they will stand there and just watch you eat. Although my friends and I were running late for our booking once we got there I felt like they wanted us to eat as fast as possible, once they have seen a customer finish eating they would come over to the table and pick up the plate, in any other restaurant they will ask if you have finish but firstly they will wait to see if the table has finished. I will never come back to this restaurant again after the way I have been treated by the staff in here.

Coming from the Caribbean myself I was very surprised by the quality of food. Really reminded me of home. I&#039;ve been to lots of restaurants but never have I felt as though the food was authentic, more a watered down version, but the mango shack was great!! The dessert menu was a bit underwhelming, that&#039;s my only criticism but on the whole a brilliant experience, with great service, and a lovely looking restaurant. Oh and great prices too

The food is pretty good (not great) and the atmosphere is fine - but the service is just a mess. The good-natured staff seem undermined by an apparently slow and chaotic kitchen. Our waiter kept apologizing to us but was at a loss about what to do when the food did not emerge for long periods.

The food was bland and took forever. Don't let the nice looking interior fool you into thinking anything else will be as good. The fish with some type of fruit salsa on top was completely flavorless and poorly cooked. Our drinks were poorly mixed because they admitted they didn't know how to mix them and had no proper bar man for dinner time, we got mojitos. I can see why there was only one other sad couple in this place on a Friday evening.

I came here for my birthday a couple of weeks ago. We booked last minute but the place was pretty empty as it was a Monday night. I had the pork it was very tasty. Portions were a bit small for my other half. The French waiter was very accommodating and helpful. We were with a wheelchair user and a child and we had no problems, disabled toilet is on the ground level.

Was disappointed with the food. Not as authentic as hoped. Flavoursome in places but not worth money paid for. Great tasting cocktails however.

Restaurant was in a great location. Inviting drinks, and very good food. Service was very good considering we were a large group, and they were serving several other large groups the same evening.

Three of us visited the restaurant for dinner. My guests visiting from NYC especially wanted Caribbean food. I choose this place because I had heard good things from a relative who had been the week before.We were seated quickly. The ambiance was pleasant. The decor ok. The tables had enough room, chairs adequate. I did have to ask for water which I felt should have been put on the table immediately. But we were not pressured to have alcoholic drinks as my companions wanted to drink later elsewhere . Familiar with caribbean food we ordered quickly, but I just had a sneaky feeling about the side dishes, and sure enough the the rice and peas, a very cheap dish to make, was a tiny portion. I mean Tiny! I could have eaten two easily. The fish with mango was excellent. Ackee and salt fish ok, the chicken needed more sauce. The cassava perfect, the plantain soft and sweet.I am a great believer in smile at the service staff, be polite, engage them, talk to them as people and not as peasants and it will make a huge difference to the Service. The chef is a different matter.So service 5 stars, chef 4 stars. Having said that I would recommend this place andbi would eat there again.

The people working there do not seem to know what their daily special is. When ordering a glass of wine from the waitress she had absolutely no idea about anything to do with wine. And on a very quiet day, I was waiting for 10 minutes before I had to ask where my wine was, and even then they were very reluctant to serve it "as I had not got my food yet". I don't want to give my money to people who don't know how to be professional or even friendly, so I got up and left.Not worth going to.

First visit here and will definitely be returning. We share the goat curry and seafood soup, both of which were excellent. The restaurant was quiet as we went early on a Mevening. Good service.

Non sono è un bel posto, arredato bene, ma sono anche molto gentili.Forse hanno poca luce e nella stanza ti sale l'abbiocco (direi una delle note negative). Il cibo è caraibico e valido, mi è piaciuto molto.Altra nota negativa è che l'attesa è lunga e infinita, ma infine in vacanza non te ne rendi neanche conto. Prezzi nella norma, posto valido

The cocktails are great and the staff are welcoming and attentive. The spacious layout is relaxing but not impersonal. I could sit in there with friends for hours ( I have!)

Really enjoyed the food at Mango Shack; however the temperature when I entered the restaurant could only be compared to a sauna! My feet and my bag were actually hot...we were seated directly above the kitchen! And even the window which was open didn&#039;t really help. That aside, the food was really tasty (portions were too small), the service of one particular staff member was great –but I&#039;m not sure whether the others had really come to work, as they didn&#039;t really seem to know what order belonged to whom and we waited a very long time for our order (because they gave it someone else).<br />On the plus side, I will definitely be returning here because the food was very tasty!

After finding that The Mango Rooms in Camden Town was shut for decoration (but will be open again soon) the painter pointed us the direction of the sister restaurant Mango Shack.A bright and sunny sunday lunch was the perfect time a red stripe. The char grilled chicken with coconut sauce was delicious. And the Piña colada went down really well with the Bananas Flambe!Will definitely go again.

Apart from my meal consisting of the biggest bone I&#039;ve ever seen, the food was pretty good. I ordered ackee and saltfish as a starter which was a very very small portion, curry mutton plus a large bone and the fruit cake.<br />The waitress took long to take our order and forgot my friend&#039;s drink. Their English is very poor too.

Always a joy to go there and eat amazing Caribbean food!.but the service needs to improve some more. My boyfriend and I chose this restaurant as it is conveniently located right next to Camden Rd overground station..and the menu looked great (if you like Caribbean food). So we came in in Wednesday evening for a mid-week dinner. We were motioned by the waitress (who was busy serving another table, with whom she appeared to be friends with as they were all speaking Romanian) to sit anywhere. She then walked away, and we sat waiting to be given our menus for about 5 minutes in the mostly empty restaurant. Another waiter eventually gave them to us, but not until we asked! My boyfriend had a question about the goat curry and the waiter responded &quot;I don&#039;t really know&quot;. Our starter (dry fishcakes) were sitting outside the kitchen for 5 minutes before being served to us. Our overpriced cocktails were served in tiny glasses, whereas the &quot;preferred&quot; table of VIPs next to us were served much larger ones! When we finally got out food, the waiter gave it to us and said nothing about what he was serving or that the plates were burning hot! Also this is such a shame as the food was actually of a decent quality. My salmon with coconut and mango sauce was flavorsome and well-cooked. My boyfriends jerk chicken was tender and spicy...and the rice and peas was as it should be. However, these were certainly not hearty Caribbean portions! More like tapas...for the price of full meals...we could have both eaten double what we were given. Needless to say when we finished out meals, we asked for the (already included) service charge to be removed. The waitress did not even ask why we were unhappy! This place has potential, great space, fun decor, good kitchen...just needs a new set of wait staff and management!

We were looking forward to our meal as this place was highly recommend but we're dissapointed with the dinner. we had two main issues, firstly the service was incredibly slow and the second was the risotto we ordered. It was watery, full of cream and flavourless. It was not a risotto it was more like a savoury rice pudding. We returned the risotto uneaten but we're still charged for it, fortunately we noticed and so had our money back. Our last complaint is that the upstairs area was far to hot as it was above the kitchen.

Having booked a table for 11.30pm, having received confirmation ,we as one would expect, expected to arrive and be shown to our table!<br />Having arrived as it turned out 45 minutes early at 10.45pm , we were greeted by a waiter who informed us that the kitchen was closed!!<br />He then informed us that the kitchen closed &quot;every&quot; night at 11pm, being only 10.45 we asked if we could have a table to he said &quot;no! The kitchen is closed&quot; he said the site got it wrong and said he knew nothing regarding the &quot;Confirmed&quot; booking. <br /><br />Due to this appalling attitude towards customers and total lack to try at least to ease the situation I would highly recommend Avoid this place so not to be disappointed and waste time making a journey there!<br />If you must book I strongly urge that call to confirm EVEN if you receive a confirmation!<br /><br />There are many more Restaurants in &amp; surrounding the area where you will be made to feel welcome!!

Booked a table here for 11.30,arrived at 10.50 to be told the kitchen was closed because they had a quiet night!! Really angry as travelled a long way to eat here, and was starving!!not happy!!

This is a great find nearby Camden with resonable prices and delicious food. The only negative I can think of is that the ventilation might be improved....it got too smokey towards the end of the evening.

We celebrated my son&#039;s 21st birthday at the Mango Shack. They allowed me to decorate the table. The food was fantastic, the service was friendly and the cost was reasonable. <br /><br />They went the extra mile to make my son feel special- putting a candle in his pudding and singing happy birthday to him. <br /><br />We would definitely go again!

I had eaten at Mango Room once before and had really enjoyed the experience, so I wanted to take my new date along for a meal and rang up to book a table, I was put thru to the Mango Shack and it was explained the other restaurant was closed for refurbishment but the mune here was the same, so went along and was seated upstairs which was full of cooking smells and HOT like an oven, the service was as another reviewer mentioned sightly confused and slow, the food was OK but didn't taste that authentic, what was quite off putting was that being seated upstairs we were overlooking part of the kitchen area where food was left out in containers on a counter where we could have accidentally dropped anything or sneezed etc into these open containers of food, the area was generally messy and not what you want to look at whilst having a meal. We did have a cocktail to start but it was very lame and tame, the wine was reasonable, total bill for 2 was £85, yikes ! For a mediocre chicken and rice, shared starter of ackee and saltfish, and a seabass, and bad service. Won't be going again.

Was really excited about going here because I have been trying to find time to go for months, but I must say I was slightly disappointed. The restaurant itself is very nicely decorated and looks really nice from the outside. The staff was the friendliest, I got the impression quite a few of them didn't know what day it was even, just seemed a bit clueless. I ordered curry goat with rice and peas which I must say was not bad, not the best but it was nice. I prefer authentic Caribbean food and this did seem like thy had modernised a lot of the meals. I would go back defiantly for the food but I really do think they need to teach a lot of their staff the importance of good customer service, it's not that difficult to smile is it.

Wandered around Camden looking for somewhere good to eat and saw this place and decided to take a chance. Great atmosphere, excellent staff, faultless food with an interesting menu and, overall, a really warm vibe to the place. Glad we found it and if we're ever in Camden again we'll be back to the Mango Shack for sure.

Had my birthday dinner with my mates, got there a bit late but was still greeted and seated with a smile, I think during the course of our visit had at least three staff members tend to us.Good Friday means no meat, gutted as they serve an excellent curried goat..so in keeping with tradition had the salt-fish fritters with apple chutney starter followed by fish, snapper fillet with a mango sauce, and lots of rum punches.The mango shack is next to Camden overground railways station and yes you can hear the trains rumble overhead, this is noticeable to begin with but a few rum punches later and you wont hear a thing.Please visit, i cant wait to go back for the curried goat.

Great place to eat, they are the same people who ran Mango rooms, the menu is the same and is just as mouthwatering good, great drinks menu, i recommend the rum punch and the pina coladas.<br /><br />Mango shack claims to serve the best curried goat and they are not wrong, I&#039;ve eaten this from a few places and found theirs to be top draw. <br /><br />The prices are decent, the establishment has changed venue, the sound of the Camden overground does reverberate in the building but with a few rum punches and the good music you&#039;ll soon forget this.<br /><br />the staff are great, very attentive and always smiling, pay a visit you wont regret it

Good food, nice place, you can try some cocktails as week. Nice way to try different flavours.

Relaxed ambience. A banging selection of rum and the scallop, tiger prawn with the sea bream was delicious.

Went for a meal with my girlfriend and was happy to have a fairly private table. The food was really nice and full of flavour. I had the curry goat which didn&#039;t have the kick I was hoping for (excuse the pun) but still tasted great. She had the salmon with mango sauce (recommended by the waiter) which was also really nice and cooked well. However £2.50 for a small pot of rice and peas was ridiculous. I paid £66 for 2 2 course meals and a cocktail each which isn&#039;t bad except when you compare it to caribbean takeaway and the amount of food you get. <br />Still would definitely recommend it and would go again

Nous cherchions ce samedi soir un pub tranquille pour boire un verre. Hélas tous sont bondés et le volume sonore qui en sort ne donne pas envie. Nous entrons donc au Mango Shack qui semble plus calme. Il y a quand même pas mal de monde à cette heure et pas vraiment moyen de trouver une place assise. Nous prenons nous bières au bar et le serveur nous invite à prendre place sur des chaises de bar dans le coin réservé aux prospectus dont il se charge de nous débarrasser. Il se propose même de demander à la gérante de nous trouver une table dès qu'une se libère. Ce que nous refusons poliment tout en appréciant vraiment l'intention et l'attention.

The best carribean restaurant in london,I personally think it's very hard to find some where with good carribean food and great service the flavours were divine the food was fresh served hot the drinks where lovely and also the staff where very attentive.great Sunday meal will be back keep it up.

Went to family party at Mango Shack last night. Our large group from a toddler to an 80 year old birthday girl could not have had a better time. We were looked after by kind and attentive staff who put up with our many various requests with patience and charm. Although service was slow, we were in no hurry. It was nice not to be rushed. The food was very tasty and well priced. Would have been nice to see a childrens option. The music was great - old style reggae and soul just as we like it! A very lively and fun restaurant, thanks to the staff for making it such a memorable evening!

This restaurant is local to my work and it is a great place for a gathering after work. They have great cocktails and specilal menus which changes. I have tried their curry goat roti wrap which was famous in camden but it does not appear to be on the menu anymore. I asked for roti on the side but the taste is slightly different. Even so i will be back for sure.

I have been to Mango Room many times but this was my first visit to Mango Shack. I have to say I loved the location and the space. The restaurant is a hair&#039;s breadth away from Camden Road overground station.I liked the layout: you can build some extra time into your visit to try a cocktail at the bar before heading into the restaurant. It&#039;s a large atmospheric space, plenty of ambience. It filled up completely on the Saturday evening we visited so important to book a table before hand. Mango Room/Shack cocktails induce in me a very benevolent view of the world. Be aware that they are strong. I ordered the curry goat, rice and peas, plantain and roti. My companion had fish (there are many fish dishes). We were reluctant to leave so were persuaded to try a dessert. We tried the three sorbet/ice cream option. All three were full of flavour. Service was friendly and efficient. Food was brought quickly. We had a lovely evening!

Third time at this rest and never disappointed..food is good service is friendly and not intrusive..would most def recommend.

Ate here with friends last night. First time to this eatery right under Camden road overland station. Lovely uncomplicated menu and pleasant decor. I had the mackerel starter which was unbelievably good and a steak - I asked for it rare and it came cooked to perfection! All six of us raved about the food and the service was perfect, unpretentious yet attentive. Well done mango shack - we'll definitely be back.

The bruschetta was absolutely disgusting, jus French bread toasted with tomato smashed into it and a horrible garnish. The honey BBQ wings were nice that&#039;s most probably the only nice thing out of the whole meal, I order a curry goat roti, which tasted so bland I could not eat it... I also expected traditional roti skin and that&#039;s not what I got, Nan bread type is not roti... My bread had duck and that too was jus horrible. Neither of us could eat our food. The drinks had toooooo much alcohol in them I felt like I was getting ready for NHC all over again. I didn&#039;t throw the food as I thought it would b a waste, but I did offer it to the homeless people I saw on the way home. <br /><br />Please evaluate your menu, it&#039;s not very caribbean....also your drinks have wayyyyy to much alcohol in them, I want to be able to enjoy my night and remember it not leave intoxicated.... Please please teach your chefs the correct ways of preparing and making West Indian food as I felt they did not do it justice extremely disappointed. I was meant to b making a booking in the new year, but I think I will pass. Unfortunately I can&#039;t recommend you to my friends as there where too many things that let you down.

I visited this restaurant for a friends birthday, upon entering was pleasantly surprised with the warm feeling of the restaurant as from the outside wasn't quite sure what to expect. It was reasonably busy not uncommon for a restaurant in Camden on a Saturday night. Our party was really looking forward to the evening but left extremely disappointed &amp; insulted!This restaurant is by no means a traditional Caribbean restaurant &amp; serving anything but authentic cuisine &amp; being that our party were mainly Caribbean we were expecting the food to taste well......"CARIBBEAN" The jerk chicken just tasted like roast chicken in a bbq sauce &amp; the "Famous Curry goat" just tasted like a well cooked stewed meat, there was none of the seasonal spices or aromas you would expect from a "famous" &amp; well loved dish of the Caribbean.The staff showed no real knowledge of the menu, our waitress dared to suggest that macroni cheese &amp; mackerel where the same!!!!!Food aside, for the most part the ambience of the restaurant was ok. The music in the background was nice until we found ourselves listening to very explicit &amp; degrading lyrics of a song to which the staff were totally oblivious when asked if they knew what the song was referring to (not something you want to hear when taking a mouthful of seafood soup full of bones!) With all of this we were determined not to make the experience of Mango sham sorry "shack" spoil our night so being that we were now practically the last ones in the restaurant we would have a nice conversation with the chef who was walking by our table (whilst we waited for our bill to be calculated which at this point was now taking more than 15mins to generate!!) The chef proceeded to inform us when asked if he learnt to cook Caribbean food whilst on his travels to the Caribbean, that he had no interest to travel there &amp; that Caribbean chefs couldn't cook, especially Jamaican chefs, then he walked off. How RUDE. Feeling really insulted at this point by a chef who clearly couldn't cook the food he was trying to emulate we settled our bill &amp; took ourselves out of this sham of a restaurant never to return.The only good thing I would say about this restaurant is that the location is great as you can find somewhere else in Camden to have a fantastic meal including authentic Caribbean cuisine.

This is our second visit to Mango Shack !!!! It was my daughters 13th Birthday and she insisted that we go back to Mango Shack after a busy day on Oxford St. The staff are very friendly and the food is amazing ........ Mango Shack has a beautiful vibe to it !!!!! <br /><br />All 4 of us would highly recommend !!!!

This restaurant claims to do Caribbean and Italian food. So i wanted to try the Caribbean food, because that is my background and i have eaten enough Italian food that week.The curry goat was not Caribbean curry goat, it tasted nothing like it. But it didn't taste bad or anything, but he was not want it claimed to be. The chicken wings was supposed to have chilli and garlic, but it didn't taste of either, but again it didn't taste bad, it just was not has described. We was a big party and was waiting for some other guest to arrive before ordering our meals, but it didn't mean that we could not order our drinks as soon as we got there and we had to wait for a while before the waitress decided to take our drinks order. She did take our food order at the some time and said she will hold it until the other guests arrived, which was good, but that could of been done at the start.

Food arrived at different times, waitress knew nothing about the food English language was poor, food arrived not as shown then told certain parts pf the meal wasn&#039;t available told no cream on cake and it arrived with cream inattentive waitress and the lust goes on the manager was receptive to out complaint needless to say we didnt pay the 12.5 per cent service charge although did leave a tip for the chef as the quality of the food waa good

We took relatives from the US last Friday. We wanted to showcase Camden, the nightlife and restaurants. We decided on Mango Shack as opposed to Cottons. What a mistake! The service was non existent despite the fact that the restaurant was virtually empty. When the waitress finally came to take our order she had very little knowledge of the food on the menu. She recommended several roti dishes but came back 10 min later to inform us that they were all out of roti. Considering this was a third of their offerings we were disappointed. All the dishes we ordered were not traditionally cooked and bore little resemblance or taste to their names. The cocktails were heavily diluted which the barman was happy to top up. The service was appalling and it came as no surprise to the waitress when we declined the service charge, "I had a feeling that would be the case" was her response. Is this what we have come to expect from establishments serving "Caribbean" food. Bad service and tasteless food. I hope not as I know a few Caribbean restaurants in London that, not only pride themselves on their service but delight in serving excellent cuisine. Unfortunately this was not one of them ...

I&#039;m so frustrated with this restaurant! The service was atrocious. I had invited family members from America to join us for dinner. It was ages before anyone came to take our order let alone drinks order. The place was empty but despite this there was no service. Drinks were heavily diluted and although we were recommended several roti dishes which we ordered only to be informed 10 mins later that they had run out of rotis?. The food when it arrived was disappointing and our guests were not impressed. The bar had more customers than the restaurant! When the bill arrived well over £100 we refused the service charge to which the response of the waitress was &quot;I&#039;m not surprised&quot;. We left embarrassed and headed to Cottons for decent cocktails!

Came here on a quiet Tuesday lunch time. I had curried goat and my friend had salmon with spicy coconut sauce. The food was absolutely superb - the salmon in particular had so much flavour. We really, really enjoyed it!

Found this restaurant on Visit London and I was super excited to visit with my boyfriend. The food delighted our tastebuds and was beautifully presented, the ambience was really nice aswell. Even though it is situated right next to Camden Overground station, you can hardly hear the trains. Perfect place for a birthday party, romantic dinner, special occasions etc. My boyfriend and I thought it was great for value considering we are students, cost £30 for the both of us!

My Dad was over from Jamaica and we really wanted to give him a special dining experience. We did not get that. The fusion of Jamaican and Italian does not work. Adding fruit and peppers to everything does not make it Caribbean/Jamaican. Some of the sweet/savory options were awful. I had the salmon and some kind of fruit. Awful. <br />Chicken wings were good, once they were sent back for additional cooking time. Curried goat was passable but not amazing. Service was slow and in attentive. We were left with empty glasses frequently; even having to go to the bar ourselves to get a drink on one occasion. Will definitely not be visiting again.

Came here for lunch with my work colleagues. The only thing that was decent was the salmon. Aside from that I think there&#039;s much to be desired from their Caribbean style cooking. Not authentic and the plantain was practically raw! As someone who knows how plantain should be cooked, this was disappointing. The ambience wasn&#039;t anything special and the meal wasn&#039;t value for money. The waiting staff were nice but that&#039;s about it. I haven&#039;t returned.

We all enjoyed our dinner last night. Two ordered char-grilled chicken, one with peanut sauce and the other with coconut curry. The peanut sauce was good but needed more peanut flavor to it it advertise as peanut sauce. The third dish was salmon with jerk spicy sauce and was very good too. The sides we tried were the basmati rice, plantains and sweet potatoes. All were very good. Cocktails were just okay. ALL of the wait staff were wonderful and clearly were working as a team. All and all I would recommend this as a great stop to enjoy wonderful food.

The food had no taste and was overpriced the service was terrible no atmosphere the waiters were standing around but not checking on their guest the cocktails were very weak The experience was horrible i don't recommend it to anyone

We visited for a late Saturday lunch and strangely the restaurant was almost empty. This did not detract from our enjoyment. We all had rotis (prawn, chicken and goat) and they were the best I had eaten since visiting Trinidad almost 40 years ago! The restaurant is decorated smartly but colourfully and although quiet looked as if it would be great fun in the evening. There were 2 attractive bars and a good atmosphere. The bill, including service, was £56 for three with drinks and 1 sweet. We shall return.

I've been a couple of times to the Mango Shack, which is a junior version of its parent, The Mango Room in Camden Town. The Mango Shack has a laid back atmosphere, cool décor and tasty modern caribbean food. I love the jerk chicken wrap for a lunch of substance, and for my money you can't beat their curry goat. My only comment is that the curry could be just a touch spicier. However, that said, there is always the option to add a bit of hot sauce, and it means it's not too hot for those who prefer it mild.The location is great for me as I live 5 minutes walk away, however, be prepared to hear the roar of the trains overhead. Nothing they can do about it, and maybe it doesn't matter. Didn't bother us. But I suspect this could be the reason a few restaurants have faltered over the past few years,in this precise location. Let's hope for us that this one stays.

Food was so-so. Customer service was terrible. Had to keep waiving them down for service. They took our order, then came back 5 mins later to tell us, they&#039;s run out of the meal we&#039;d both chosen. We chose again and they&#039;d run out that also!! Eventually choose meals they could serve and the food lacked terribly. Was overpriced for the quality of food.

I have to say I loved the decor of Mango Shack! The food was yummy but could of done with some more sauce for the rice. plaintain was succulent, rice n peas a little dry my main was Sea bass it was delish!! A little coleslaw on the side would of helped too. Had to send back the cocktails as they were full of froth and was made with no ice.

I was really disappointed, because the food took 90 minutes to arrive (apparently their head chef had cut himself earlier that day, so there were delays in the kitchen), which the staff had not told us about before. The food was tasty, but overpriced. I think there are better restaurants in the area and I would not go back to this one. I was with my family and friends and all of them said the same.

First time was so good I went back again 4 days later! The decor, atmosphere and surroundings are what makes this place. Situated very conveniently next door to Camden Road overground and directly opposite the Grand Union (great for drinks before/after) I will happily arrange to meet friends here for after work meal/cocktails in future.<br /><br />Whilst waiting for friends there&#039;s a fantastic bar at the front of the restaurant, with two comfy sofas, where you can order cocktails.<br /><br />I highly recommend the tiramisu. The best I have ever tasted.

Just a short distance from the Regent's Canal and away from the crowds of Camden Lock, we happened on this restaurant late on Saturday lunchtime.Curry goat roti was exceptional with a generous portion, and the sweet potato fries delicious though a little overpriced.

First time in Camden Town. First trip to Mango Shack. First trip to West Indian restaurant. I will be back for more! Loved the atmosphere. Staff very friendly and helpful. Flavours in food were amazing. I had the mackerel and banana which I would have never thought to put together when cooking but was a lovely combination of flavours. Then I had the chicken roti wrap. Couldn't make my mind up which sauce to choose so the lovely waitress brought me both! My partner had king prawns followed by the scallops. He loved his choices too. Would highly recommend Mango Shack.

I went for my Birthday with family and friends and given that we consisted of Jamaican, white British, and Irish, and Egyptian we had varied palates so not such a straightforward bunch to please. That said we were all happy with our meals, and because we were a large group despite having a table at the back reserved for us we were allowed to have the space up top which had a great ambience for my Birthday celebrations. <br /><br />I went the following week just me and my partner, and it wasn&#039;t as great :-( I love Camden for it&#039;s laid back vibe but I am not a pet owner and allowing a pet dog in a restaurant - a bit too laid back for me, and this time round the curry had a sweet taste? That said the cocktails are amazing whatever day you go!

We chose this restaurant because previous reviews said the atmosphere was good, playing ska music. Unfortunately there was none of that. We had an early booking, so this probably didn&#039;t help, but there was no other diners in the restaurant. Slowly one or two others showed up. Cocktails were fabulous, food was delicious, and very reasonable portions. Staff were very good, eager to please. Just a shame about the atmosphere.

My first time here and it was a good experience although we were asked to move tables as they were due for more people in one booking which was unexpected. We didnt want to move nearer to the kitchen so they were happy for us to stay where we were but i am sure they would have planned our table better if they knew the size of the party prior to their arrival. The food was really good i really enjoyed the curry goat roti wrap - i love roti and having additional curry when requested was fabulous - one wrap was enough to fill me up, happy and content, will come back again.

Second time we have been to Mango Shack, this time with us just as a couple, and the food was again excellent... fresh, tasty and perfectly cooked and the cocktails great too (particularly the chilli-raspberry caipiroska - wow!).The service is excellent, it has good atmosphere, it's a great place for couples or parties, highly recommended!
