Grand Connaught Rooms in Camden

At an event attended by a member of the Royal Family the dinner service was disastrous. There was no organisation, the food was poor and the waiting staff totally out of their depth. Many guests had to leave before dessert was served as the service was so slow. Totally unacceptable for a venue and event of this type. Many people travelled great distances across the country to be present at this event and meal afterwards. To have to experience such a poor meal is unacceptable. A total disgrace!

Well, where do I start. I attended the luncheon last week after SGC. The staff were not very organized by their leader. Service was completed in a very haphazard way, that is when we eventually got our food. We had a marvelous morning at SGC, and I expected to dine with my colleagues who had also travelled from Devon in these wonderful surroundings at a standard that befitted the occasion. I have attended this function for a number of years and I have noticed that professionalism is on the wane. This will be my last visit to the Grand Connaught Rooms to dine.

Attended luncheon after meeting of SGC next door. Staff were disorganised, service very very slow, many guests left before dessert was served it was that slow. Hot food served cold! Not impressed at all.

After an wonderful morning at UGLE next door we expected another wonderful luncheon However ,this was not to be , The food was acceptable but the service was appalling , some received the wrong meal ,and had to wait for soup .A colleague only got his vegan meal when we had finished ours. no drinks could be obtained from the bar and one waitress was observed to spill biscuits from a plate of cheese , stoop to pick them from the floor and put them back on the plate. I very much doubt that I shall return .

Attended a large set piece lunch for 600. Cold starter or soup, hot main, cold dessert. 30-40 minute delays between finishing one course and the arrival of the next. Soup arrived luke-warm 15 minutes after the remainder of my table had been given their starters. Main course was average. Many people left without pudding because it simply did not arrive (it was a cold, slab of pre bought cake - hardly challenging for the kitchens). Guest of Honour (a member of the Royal Family) left early vowing never to eat there again. This is the service they provide for Royalty. I will be taking his advice and not ever returning there either.

I have dined at the Connaught many time, and they consistently fail. The venue, if you are in one of the major rooms, is excellent, but there are never even close to enough staff to serve, I am estimating they need 20 to 30 more waiting staff than they had working this luncheon. Therefore when there are several hundred dining you can expect cold food and to be served anything up to 40 - 50 mins after the top table.

I attended a banquet function here last week which was quite the most awful experience I have had to endure. Food was tepid, small portions (very) and the service was disgustingly slow and inept. No-one appeared to be taking charge of the situation. This was not the first such experience I have had to endure at this venue but it will certainly be the last as I shall never return and I would advise anyone considering going there to avoid it at all costs.

600 plus people sitting down for a formal luncheon is going to be a challenge, however to a professional organisation that has been dealing with just such an event several time a year it should be a piece of cake (no pun intended)

This was my first visit to the Connaught Rooms and I was not disappointed with the decor of this venue. It was splendid in every respect and naturally increased your anticipation as to what was to follow. However the quality of food and service did not equate. The staff were under pressure to cater for the large number present and it showed in their lack of attention to detail and just getting the food out on time to all at the table and hot ,was beyond them. The serving process lacked coordination. This was such a shame as the venue had all the ingredients for a very enjoyable occasion. Attention needs to be given to staff training and supervision over a number of tables which would help that coordinated and professional process.

It was a large group of over 600 people. There were not enough staff and/or they were not properly deployed to serve this number (which they knew well in advance). The lunch took exactly two hours, with long gaps between courses. The main course (in my case fish) was excellent, but the staff need better supervision.

I attended a large event luncheon, had to leave for final course and coffee. Very poor level of staffing

I dined here at a large function in the presence of am member of the Royal family. Service was appalling and incredibly slow. The delay between all the starters arriving was incredible, and the main course was even slower to arrive. A number of us had to leave (as did the Royal) before dessert was served. I have had a few mediocre experiences here, and am used to the delays in serving large functions, but this was the worst.

I dine at the Connaught Rooms at least a dozen times each year, normally with 500+ diners each time.

Had lunch there yesterday, the meal was dreadful and the service even worse.

Service exceptionally poor. Members on my table received their soup 20 minutes after others had received their starters. My main course never materialised and after 4 separate members of the floor staff for a main course - which I never received I walked out.

About 600 of us dining, and although the quality of the food was good for such a large gathering what a mess they made the service.

I attended a training course here and was surprised this venue had been chosen as it's less than ideal for people with certain health conditions/disabilities. The rooms are spread over 9 floors, which isn't helped by the fact that the lifts don't go to the top of the building. You also have to walk up and down flights of stairs to get to the toilets. Poor signage doesn't help matters and the staff only are only present in the reception area.

Attended a wedding here - staff were great, all friendly and attended to your needs

As well as space for our organisation to exhibit there was a large room for the 150 attended. Staff were professional and the food was adequate.

The venue's gallery speaks for itself. The Grand Hall is beautiful and makes any event in there as grand as can be. But I really want to commend the staff who were incredibly accommodating in both the planning and execution. There was a fleet of staff who all delivered on the night. This extends to the fantastic security and reception staff as well as the bar and catering staff. Roxana and Madison as the event coordinators were excellent as were the managers who led the bar and catering staff on the night. I highly recommend this venue. I would say that drinks could be better value for money for large scale corporate events. But this is central London and you have to know what you are paying for.

I attended an evening event here recently. It was like a rabbit warren finding our venue. The bar was unstaffed and we couldn’t get a predinner beer. When we got to the room it was soulless unappealing and not somewhere one would want to dine. Really disappointing won’t be going again unless I really have to !

Very pleased with the quality of food and service. My dietary requirements had been catered for - much appreciated, Great improvement!

Attended a Masonic function here today and the quality of food and service is still as awful as before. The quality of the food was mediocre at best. The starter, supposedly a crayfish cocktail was just a few scraps of shellfish and some salad leaves - no sign of any thousand islands or any dressing of any kind. The main, a pretty standard chicken kiev (sans any filling) and a few cubes of veg - anyone with even basic cooking experience could prepare. A garlic mayo was served on the side in a cracked dish.

Hubo una gran confusión por parte del personal que parece no tener idea de lo que estaban haciendo y el servicio de comidas fue lento. La comida en sí estaba bien, pero si el servicio hubiera sido mejor tendríamos comida caliente! Lástima porque cuando las New Connaught Rooms se hicieron cargo de Friendly Hotels eran muy buenas y las comidas y el servicio eran muy buenos, pero a lo largo de los años la comida y el servicio se han deteriorado. . . Si está planeando un banquete por la noche, mejor evitar este lugar.

A friend and I invited a table of people to the above event who had helped us raise funds for a charity called DT38 at a charity White Collar boxing event last November. One of our guests John Conteh MBE signed a menu for my friend. Sometime after the event had finished he realised he had left the menu behind. I returned and was met by Behnam who went very much above and beyond to retrieve it from the rubbish. Not only did he find it within some 20 minutes but went out of his way to post it to my address the next day. A great event, good food topped off with exceptional customer service from Behnam

Great place, 5-10 mins walk from Holborn Tube Station. No parking. Brilliant setting, always great service by largely very friendly and efficient European/Overseas waiting staff. Food is simply to die for. Management superb although bar service poor with long waits and of course the totally unrealistic rip-off London prices. Would certainly recommend particularly if you're a tea totaler

We attended a work away day at this venue. The lady who works in the coffee shop on ground floor could do with some customer service training. Quite frankly very rude to customers.

Having been looking forward to my conference at this venue I was really disappointed at the whole experience.

Lunch and afternoon activity was arranged here for 35 staff. A superb hot and cold buffet lunch, catering for several dietary requests was served in the Drawing Room on the first floor with the activity afterwards in the adjacent Edinburgh Room. Despite arriving an hour late from our previous business briefing elsewhere, staff were very flexible and accommodating. Lunch options to suit several dietary requests was excellent and well labelled and several staff returned for a second helping! The Edinburgh Room was a large comfortable room laid up cabaret style for our team activity afterwards. Overall great venue, superb food and helpful and accommodating staff. Would definitely choose the venue again.

Very positive experience using Connaught Rooms for our Strategy Meeting. Staff very helpful and well organised. We would definitely use again!

Very grand from outside and main entrance hall. Slightly more bland on the inside. We were in Edinburgh suite which was nice. Food was very good esp pudding plate. Service excellent. Table decorations were a bit naff, they hadn't even swithed on fairy lights before we went in to dinner which was a shame, as with dimmed lights would have looked a lot better. Cloakroom was very efficient. So good night out.

First problem- how to get to the Grand Dining Room and bar on the first floor? I can't do stairs any more and no visible lift to it or anyone to tell me how to find one - eventually getting a lift up but then finding myself lost at the back of the rabbit warren of a building, was guided through other rooms, lobbies, kitchens etc to the main hall. So missed pre-lunch drinks upstairs including specially ordered one (elderflower presse/cordial). Tried atthe bar downstairs didn't the girl there couldn't comprehend what it was and even showing her my pre-order form was no use.

Attended a "Think Tank" followed by sit down meal. Small bar on the ground floor, impressive staircase to get up to the room we had booked. Sit down meal on round tables sitting about 10 people. Good was very good. Service pretty speedy given the number attending. Impressive building but lots of stairs and not the most convenient placed lifts.

Un lugar perfecto para una boda de invierno en el centro de Londres con muchas salas diferentes adecuadas para una gran variedad de usos. La sala de Edimburgo fue perfecta para una ceremonia y el Gran Salón fue espectacular para nuestra celebración. También teníamos una habitación para novias y un par de otras habitaciones utilizadas por los huéspedes.

We dined in the Grand Connaught Rooms. The occasion was an Armistice Centenary Luncheon. There were many guest but that did not seem to phase the management as everything was orchestrated to a high level of efficiency from the Prosecco on arrival through all course to the coffee and mints. Meal was good and service excellent. Only one small 'gripe'! We were seated in the Balmoral section which did not have any loudspeakers so we missed all of the speeches.

Read a few negative reviews about this venue, but yet again on Friday I was impressed by the quality of the food and the efficiency of the Staff serving several hundred people and keeping to a strict timetable. The lunch was between a 2 part ceremony taking place in the adjacent building so everyone arrived together and had to be out on time.

Looks grand from the outside and the reception and main hall do feel luxurious but the working spaces aren't. It's a rabbit warren of meeting rooms which have seen better days with very basic facilities and even toilets are in scarce supply, lifts don't quite reach the floors you want or are out of order, catering is average, enough said really.

Conveniently situated a two minute walk from Holborn tube station.

With over 600 dinners Service was excellent , wine acceptable , entertainment was superb , great company Meal of salmon starte & Salmon main course did not.go down to well, The chef should have advised ......

Was there for a large function on 22nd October, I was disgusted by the quality & standard of the food served. The salmon was dryed up, the whole meal was barely warm, people who didnt eat fish ended up with nothing for their dinner after bring told there was no alternative, which i find unbelievable. The staff were rude, i had to ask for milk for my tea 4 times!!! When we asked for anything there was tutting & huffing & puffing from them & most if the time we had to ask 3 or 4 times for things. The staff need some lessons in customer relations!!! I was really looking forward to going there but i can honestly say i will not be going ever again.

When we arrived, there was a bar set up with several people serving, but only 1 could work the till --- consequently, everything backed up and it took ages to get a drink .... very poor service, and yet expensive at the same time.

Had a lovely evening at a Masonic Function last night 22nd October

The location is convenient, just a few minutes walk from Holborn underground station. We were running a series of interviews and tests requiring a range of meeting rooms. The rooms were spread all over the venue, which was massively inconvenient. Some rooms had adjoining rooms with doors that didn’t shut properly and were not soundproof, meaning some of our rooms could not be used. Staff are lacking in customer service skills. Really poor experience.

Attended a business function...from London Kings Cross a 2 stop ride, disembarking at Holborn...literally a case of crossing over the road to arrive at the venue. Main Hall is a good size venue, overall good rooms...disappointed with the food

Beautiful venue with all amenities.

I participated into a conference in here and ate lunch there for the whole week. It was good but not great. I think they are not selling lunch for everybody, just for conference people.

It was ok,but well overpriced.Mainly foreign/student,underpaid & untrained waiting staff who really tried their very best under their trying circumstances.

Asistió a una conferencia grande aquí recientemente en lo que fue un día muy cálido. Mientras la mayor parte del día fue un éxito el aire acondicionado simplemente no daban abasto con el número de asistentes el día haciendo muy incómodo. Aparte de esto las comidas estilo buffet, café té eran todo servido eficientemente. Personal podría sonreír un poco más a veces.

Me visitan regularmente como un montón de funciones tienen las cenas. Ya Vere la comida y el servicio sin duda fue mejor. Obviamente, no puedes ir y comer allí como un evento desorganizado, pero no probarlo - recordar un montón de diferentes menús la más pagas mejor que te dan. Finalmente Bar Pricesare caro.

Alrededor de 150 de nosotros para el almuerzo, en un día muy caluroso. Con un menú seleccionado, hay mucho tiempo para conseguir la comida. El pollo en la ensalada era un poco difícil, pero el plato de trucha era delicioso, seguido de un refrescante ensalada de frutas. Las opciones de vino eran aceptables.

It’s a beautiful place, it looks as summery as an sunny outdoor garden! Its grandeur and suits for big wedding!

Estaba asistiendo a una muy gran acontecimiento anual que requiere grupo a sesiones en habitaciones diferentes. Primera habitación por muchas escaleras y ascensor roto que no es bueno cuando algunos del grupo son ancianos o tienen problemas de movilidad. Habitaciones muy oscuras y anticuado, y en algunos casos francamente desaliñado. La segunda habitación que estalló tenía sin proyector creado en él. La señora de la organización desde el lugar no hablaba inglés muy bien discutiendo por qué habíamos cambiado de habitación. . . Por eso cuatro estaban llenos! Finalmente conseguimos un proyector y llegaron con un proyecto de ley para ser firmada por 230 libras para el día utiliza un proyector! El almuerzo fue otra farsa, no hay forma de bloquear la habitación, ya que no hay llaves disponible! Cola y se acabó dejando algunas opciones de pescado (no es bueno cuando su alérgicas). Postre salió corriendo y a pesar de ser reportadas tardaron mucho tiempo para venir a la mayoría de la gente se había dado, lo que es una buena manera de obtener ingresos cuando se ha pagado. . Dejar tiempo suficiente. y que no tiene que ofrecer!

Esta es posiblemente la peor experiencia de banquetes de mi vida. Pero permítanme comenzar con los aspectos positivos - Los baños limpios, el personal vestido con aparte de Gerente que piensa un cuello abierto corto es ropas adecuadas por 550 hombres vestidos formalmente. Servicio lento, descuidada y despreocupado. ¿Desde cuándo sirven sopa después de paté? Ya que cuando no te sirven un plato de sopa sin platillo debajo/? Dedos y pulgares en la sopa no es una buena cosa. Una hora entre el primer y segundo supuesto es que aceptable? Quejas a supervisores banquetes significaba que eran claramente ignorada y sirve de última. El plato principal estaba servido a nuestra mesa con platos de otras mesas de elevarlo sin carne? Quejas a la administración no fueron solucionados adecuadamente, sin ningún intento de atenuar la sensación de agravio. Este fue un día muy especial para mí, estropeado por debajo de la media de la comida, el personal poco formado y de gestión que no entienden su función. Evitar, evitar, evitar

He visto algunas opiniones bastante apocalípticas de las habitaciones Connaught, pero estos no corresponde con mi experiencia. La comida me pareció excelente para catering de masas, con un precio razonable y muy buena relación calidad-precio.

Went for an awards ceremony and was taken aback by the building, it is stunning. The food served on the night was equally good and the service was excellent.

Had our work awards ceremony here. The venue was good, the staff were fine, and the food was also good, every table got their food together and most people were happy with it. Agree about a lot of the loos being blocked, and consequently out of order, but otherwise it was fine.

Over priced drinks poor service of drinks. Had cheese board for desert and were given spoon and forks to eat them the milk was in a gravy boat. 6 of us went without cheese. We asked for more and were rudely told your table has...

This is a review of today's experience at the connaught rooms. I think de vere must be in terrible financial troubles as all the signs are there. Terrible: service, quality of food, service, signage, toilets, service, drinks, drink prices, service, toilets (blocked, out of order)...

We went to a function with about 150 people and the service was appalling, it took over 3 hours for a poor 4 course meal. The meal was cold and our table had to beg for our sweets as they said they had run out, then out of nowhere they appeared. The staff were unhelpful, did not appear to care less and many could not speak English.

Not impressed. Attended a masons meal but food and service was poor. The food was so-so, and they messed up the menu choices which meant we had to opt for what was ‘left-over’. Very not impressed especially from DeVere...

When it has to be very very special ....this is place to have a super event ! I was very luck to be at just such a 'do'

Catering very good for a conference location. Central location at Holborn so quite good for main rail links. Easy to get lost.

I visited this central London hotel as part of a day conference. The experience was pleasant in part because the venue was so good. The facilities were clean, well organised and the staff could not have been more helpful. The food was well prepared, offered variety and tasty. All of these things made a long and draining work day more bearable.

We had a business lunch arranged (by others) at the grand Connaught rooms.It is a clean well preserved place and the rest rooms are always kept to the highest standards.The meals was excellent and brought out hot (400 meals) with a good choice of table wines.PA system is clear to hear for speeches.

I've been to the connaught rooms several times for social events for some years and it has always been a little more miss than hit though seems to have gotten worse.The food is often poor and the service seems to be done by predominently inexperienced staff. It probably does a job if you have an unimportant function and need to cater for big numbers.They seem cater for functions though I can't imagine they get much repeats business other than the rather captive audience from freemasons hall next door. Shame, it could be a great place if they put more effort into the quality.I will avoid in future.

Attended a lunchtime banquet here with a few hundred in attendance.Atmosphere was terrific. Food was excellent and service was very slick and professional.Read a few reviews about poor/expensive food here but I’ve been a few times and never been disappointed!

We attended a charity function at the Connaught rooms and the event itself was brilliant and fabulously well organised by a wonderful family. However the venue itself was somewhat different. Reception staff appeared surly and the poor cloakroom attendant had to be woken up. The starters and dessert were good but the main course arrived cold and there must be a veg shortage in this part of London! The meat was also poorly cooked. The staff serving were incredibly grumpy, with the exception of the lady in black who did at least smile. Bar prices were extortionate but I suppose that’s to be expected but at least the bar staff might smile. No clearly the head man wanted to be somewhere else and his helper really should have been as he seemed unable to even work the till. All in all extremely poor.

Attended here in the past with a group of 25 and had all our money refunded as the food was appalling. Salmon removed twice from the table because it was not cooked very embarrassing for me as I invited a guest. He ended up having an omelette.Returned last night with some of the same group. Soup was cold, scraps of meat you would not give your dog, and a glass of whipped cream with a small piece of strawberry on the top. DISCUSTING.We will never return here again.

we were invited to a wedding at this venue, although it looks quite nice, we were shocked at the rodent issue. the mice were having races in the downstairs bar. the mice were also in the drawing room, there were mice spotted in the Edinburgh suite where the main event was being held. the kitchens were disgusting and the sink in the bar look as if someone had been sick in it. this place is a health hazard and should be closed down. I feel sick thinking how the food was being cooked around these rodents! Vile! we complained to the De Vere Group and they don't think its an issue.Shocking!!!!

We booked our wedding here and in the early stages whilst working with Francesca all seemed to be going very smoothly and to plan.We agreed on seating plans for the ceremony and for the staff there to arrange the seats accordingly and our caterers and DJ would set up the main room for dinner and the entertainment.We had a call from one of our ushers at 3.30 pm to advise that the room had not been made ready and that there were no chairs in there to be set up, we called the venue and asked why this was the case? we were informed that there we no staff to help and that they did not set up rooms for events!! We had agreed that this room was to be set up by the venue teams.The chairs were finally tracked down and arranged by our guys. Not a good start.The ceremony went very well and the after party was also successful but this was only because our Caterer, DJ, Ushers and best men work their socks off to ensure all was good for us, there was NO assistance from the venue team at all.We were expecting to have a floor supervisor for the entire evening and a cloakroom assistant all evening as per the contacted agreement, we saw neither for the entire evening. Our caterers also had to inform us of chronic vermin issue, Mice everywhere in the kitchens so they had to do a deep clean before any food was prepared, this was also echoed back to us after the event from 3 of our guests that saw mice in the Drawing room bar area!We had also reported the mice issue on a one of our earlier visits when we were sat in the little bar downstairs and there was little Micky running about, we reported this but clearly nothing has been done to address this problem.One of our guests was also accused of assaulting on of the staff, of course I needed to address this immediately so made contact with the manager, he made inquiries and the staff member changed his story to Insulted, funny that 4 of us heard him say assaulted? One of our guests made a joke of asking the staff what they were watching on TV every time they popped outside during the course of the evening, they were clearly to busy to do what they should have been doing.The staff here are less than friendly should you need to ask them for anything and not wanting to sound horrible but some of them did not understand what was required of them and have no idea of what contractual agreements stand for in the UK.I have made contact with the manager and the directors but to date all they want to do is arrange a face to face meeting to discuss these problems, Time wasting springs to mind.I have been told that I will have an answer by close of play in 24 hours time, I will not be holding my breath.Totally and utterly disappointing experience and even worse customer service with excuses on top of excuses to try and cover up their mistakes.

I attended a training occasion here - such a lovely interior. Fabulous chandeliers everywhere! The buffet was very good with all allergens indicated on the labelling. There was a wedding party in the room below my meeting room and it seemed as though every detail had been paid attention to. The staff were really well-informed and knew exactly where to direct everybody to - and there were several hundred people attending this meeting so they did exceptionally well. I have attended several of these meetings over the last few weeks, in various venues, and this was by far the best run of them all.

An iconic venue at the true sense of the term ! This grade II listed property goes back to 1775 in it's history. The hall itself looks amazing. There are plenty of breakout rooms over several floors. The lunch was good but the gala dinner disappointed . The main course chicken was under cooked and the starter was uninspiring. However, the desert definitely compensated well. The lighting and décor looked surreal . Overall, a grand experience.

Attended a large black-tie dinner in The Grand Hall .It is certainly an impressive building and first impressions were great.There was a very large reception room and bar and the pre-dinner side of events were very good.One tip if you ever go there - don't leave it until you are called in for Dinner before using the conveniences. These are a long way from the reception area and with lots of stairs to negotiate.The reason I cannot give more than an average rating is due to the service during the Dinner itself. The Grand Hall is very grand indeed however, this impression was slightly spoiled by the heliufilled balloons stuck to the ceiling, presumably from a previous event. Not really very professional. There was then some confusion over the meals. There was a vegetarian option that had been preordered for some but clearly the waiting staff were not directed on this and total confusion reigned our our table for a while while plates were put down and then taken away again.The food was, for a very large attendance, actually very good and the fillet beef well cooked however, it was the service that was generally very sloppy. When coffee and tea was served we pointed out that we had no sugar on our table. Three times different people came and searched our table as if we were not capable of locating the sugar ourselves and it must have been 10 minutes after we first asked that someone realised that they had forgatten to put any on the table and delivered some. By this time it didn't really matter beacuse the drinks that were lukewarm at best when delivered, were cold and undrinkable.Finally, the last straw and one which annoys me intensely, is when the dancing and social side of the evening got under way, staff came around clearing tables. It is not the clearing up that I mind, that is a good thing, but, just because someone isn't sitting holding their glass it doesn't mean it is finished with! I lost several partially-filled wine glasses when I was not at the table and several times I had to go queue at the bar just to get more empty glasses for the wine still on table.My 'average' overall rating therefore reflects the very good surroundings, the good food but the poor service.

For many years I have eaten here, mainly dinners with friends, normally groups of up to 50 people but a number much larger functions. It has always been a good experience. It is always a mystery how they manage to produce such outstanding food so beautifully, within a tight time frame,for so many people. It is expensive but the overall feeling you have is that it was worth ( nearly) every penny. The service is friendly and professional, of course, even though the staff are mainly of foreign origin. The meals are happily customized for a large party within the budget and beautifully cooked and presented as though you were the only person there. You know that you're in one of the best eating places in London.

A lovely hotel 5 mins from Holborn tube in a nice vibrant part of the city. Well presented, plenty of snacks, drinks and good lunches. Staff friendly .

Visited here for a conference. The running of the conference was not great, no one knew which room we were in!Once in our room, the Stafford Suite, we were joined by two mice!! They ran around happily as delegates sat nervously! No one attempted to rectify it.Lunch was odd. They set up a room but it was not big enough for all delegates so we had to stand to eat lunch which is not great when you had been up since 4.30am in order to get to London for the conference! The rooms were nice enough, but lack of fresh air sadly. Unlimited hot drinks were welcome and selection of small snacks but we had a mountain of cardboard coffee cups as the rooms were not cleared at break times.

Attended a conference here and the hotel was not ideal for a large event. The layout is confusing, with corridors, stairs and floors not all necessarily connecting so frustrating and time consuming to ding your way around. Too few toilets, also too hard to find. Catering was good though, especially given the numbers attending.

We held a training session for 40 of our clients in a central London location near Holborn tube. From minute one, the staff were professional and very friendly explaining the house rules and how the day would work. On the fourth floor there is a coffee station with numerous little snacks for the clients to enjoy. The room itself was set up, and apart from putting together our audio system there was very little else to do. Two issues which were a negative (1) some of the chairs had markings (2) some of the table clothes were badly marked. However, the food and service at lunch was superb along with flap jacks which were provided at afternoon break. All in all, a really well organised conference provider.

This was the 3rd gala dinner attended and all of them have been very well organised in lovely surrounding and great staff. Food always well presented and quality. Drinks reasonably priced. Can't wait until next year !

We went to the Grand Connaught Rooms for a reception, dinner and award ceremony. It was a sparkling venue with subtle lighting, good sound and great comfort. The food and the service was very good. There was a complementary cloakroom and the building was clean and elegant. We stayed at the Kingsway Hall Hotel which is conveniently right next door. Holborn tube station is very close by..

Very good venue for weekend course. I was on a meditation course and the venue was quiet, well supplied with biscuits and easy to get to.

We went here for pre dinner xmas drinks. I chose the Red Snapper, gin with spicy tomato juice. Absolutely delicious. The best I have ever tasted.Lovely classy surroundings. I will definately be returning.

Ran a 2 day business event here and I felt it didnt live up to its reputation.Very impressive from the outside and entrance. The main room is impressive, but when you get upstairs to the smaller function rooms things start looking very tired and shabby. During the 2 day event, the session room I was using was pretty much ignored by the F&B team, requested refreshments were not delivered on time or at all, despite chasing up with the reception. We couldnt get hold of our assigned contact person at all during the first day. Day two was slightly better, but not much.Overall not a great experience and I wouldn't bring clients back here again as a conference / meeting venue

Attended a party here this month. Excellent layout for a grand party. Staff were very attentive, food also tasty, served with a smile. Nothing too much trouble. Would highly recommend that you hold an event here.

What a stunning venue my daughter had won an award and we had been invited here to the ceremony. Arrived at 6pm upon entry we were greeted with champagne , we assembled in a room with a bar but decided to take up the option of the free champagne. The awards were handed out and were then taken through to a room with the most beautiful ceiling and chandleries, they were stunning. The tables were set out beautifully, house red and white wine was available (and water) our food arrived, to start it was salmon, mains chicken and desert crumble. Was amazed that all the food arrived piping hot bearing in mind there were approx 300 others attending the ceremony. We then had port, cheese and crackers and petit fours. A truly stunning venue. Couldn't fault any of the staff, waitresses or waiters. A truly unforgettable experience.

Impressive building. Easy to get to from Euston - walkable if you're minded to avoid the tube. A bit of a rabbit-warren inside, but in a good way and the main reception rooms are suitably grand.
