Tapri in Birmingham

Went with some friends to watch the euros , we had pre booked a table for 8 of us and all ordered drinks and some food. By the time the football started the manager came over and told us to leave as we were not spending enough. They then let another group waiting at the door have our table and we had to leave our drinks and food that we had all paid for. Absolutely disgusting. Will tell everybody I know to stay away

I'm a big fan of Desi food. Therefore, I have travelled around the West Mids quite a lot. Service here was excellent, as was the choice in lager. We ordered a large mixed grill (5/10). Seekh kebabs were awful, very dry, lamb chops were small, tikka was sparse, no wings! Masala chips (9/10) & Methi Chicken (8/10) Would recommend the curry & masala fries, but go elsewhere for a grill.

Terrible customer service. The restaurant over booked tables and turned us away would not recommend. They tried to sit us outside in the rain with children with no cover. Cost us money in taxis and wasted everyone’s time

We went as a group of 27 to celebrate a family birthday and we had an amazing time. The service was excellent and staff were very accommodating to all our needs. We had a variety and starters and mains and the food was excellent. Dishes tasted really good, very served hot and portion sizes were very generous. The lamb shank was amazing meat was perfectly cooked and falls of the bone and full of flavour. Would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone definitely the best in the area.

Worst customer service ever experienced. Main meal stone cold before rice arrived. Kids meal finally come out roasting hot 10min after everyone’s else’s.

We had booked a table for 7:30 and showed up at 7:40 to be told our table had been given away. We got told that they had rang us to ask us where we are and left a voicemail, looking at our phone they had rang us at 2:30 pm - whats that all about?? We stormed out and went next door to another indian grill which was excellent and got us in straight away. Only 15 mins later they rang us telling us they had found a table for us to have, we refused this because we had already got our starters at the grill next door. They were rude to us both in person and on the phone. Avoid at all costs - if you book a table it obviously does not mean you get a table. Terrible service.

Just myself and a former business colleague having a catch up. The restaurant was quiet for a Wednesday night approx 8pm. There was CL football on the screens and probably 5 or 6 other parties dining. Good selection of drinks and some nice Indian foods on the menu. Service was quick and food of good quality. I'd recommend the place and might go again later in the week to see if there's a slightly more vibrant atmosphere.

Absolutely outstanding, had Lamb Karahi flavours were gorgeous, best keema naan I've ever had, both Nick and Mya made sure we enjoyed our evening, lovely staff making sure we enjoyed our food and night, totally recommend, will definitely be back xx

The food service was pathetic. The waiter didn’t even bother to ask for water. If you need any drinks, you need to go to the bar to get it. The boneless mix grill ordered was rubbish. The chicken served on the boneless mixed grill was smelling badly and it was food color with no spice; the sheesh kebab was tasting too much cumin; and the fish pakora was tasteless. The quantity for the price is not even worth it. The lamb biryani was soggy rice with lots of garam masala; it isn’t anywhere near a biryani. It can’t be called a pulav either. The raitha can’t even make a simple thing.The butter chicken was a sweet dish with a can of tomato puree poured over some smelly boiled chicken chunks. Again, the portion is very small. Thank God they didn’t give a large portion; it would have gone to waste. The ambience is very pathetic—so very loud and cramped up.After having the rubbish food, my family got a throat infection and stomach pain. I would never visit this place, and it isn’t anywhere near Indian food. The chef cooking the food doesn’t know anything about Indian food.The food served was not even hot; it seems the microwave wasn’t working. It would be better to get some proper M&S food and warm it up. The place may run better.

I’m not one for sports bars type places but was really pleasantly surprised by Tapri in Sutton Coldfield. We are going back tonight it was so good so definitely deserve a good review. The food was delicious!!! We loved it. Great Mix grills, delicious chicken wings - we had to order two more portions as the kids loved them so much. Chicken and lamb curry dishes were really good - my partner ordered more and asked for a doggy back which he never does! Plenty of veggie options, I loved the paneer makhini - it’s the best in Sutton by far! And the dhal, all the starters were so good. It’s defo my go to for Indian food now locally, I won’t go anywhere else. Good atmosphere, men loved the sports, kids loved the food and ate well and good value for money too. Everyone was happy! It’s our New Years dinner out so looking forward to it!!!

Absolutely amazing food, service was spot on staff are very friendly. Went with the family and the atmosphere was lovely. Food was excellent tapir crispy wings are a must really nice. Will definitely be going back.

Went here a few times when it opened we had friends come from Derby so took them . Ordered the food asked for Poppadoms first they came same time as Mixed Grill which we stale no plates given out. I had to get get to find out where the rest of the order was and was told it was on its way by which time other food was cold - no apology was told you can see it’s busy. Butter Chicken was disgusting tasted like tomatoe ketchup had to query if it was the right dish - we did not eat it - the nasns were dry and cold by the time they came out - will definitely not be returning food - average Service appaulling - unmannered u friendly staff
