Only gave one star as I couldn’t give less. The mango lassi had a spider in it. After talking to one staff he acknowledged it was a spider, said that it must have fallen in from the storage area and agreed that we shouldn’t have to pay for it. A short while later when we went to pay he had run off ‘conveniently’ and left someone else to take our payment instead. This guy didn’t understand the situation and we ended up paying the £6 for the lassi. Really shocked we how disgustingly we were treated even though they admitted they were in the wrong and like a coward hiding behind in the back just to make £6 from us. Please avoid as they clearly don’t care about customer service or basic food hygiene. Will also be reporting to Trading Standards.

After some search, we found Chaska Chai for a desi breakfast. This place did not disappoint! From the moment we walked in, Chacha Jee greeted us with such warmth and kindness that we instantly felt at home. The food was delicious: halwa puri, tarka saag, haleem… chai to name a few dishes —just the kind of authentic flavors we were craving—but what really made our brunch special was Chacha Jee himself. His friendliness and genuine care turned a good meal into a great experience. If you’re in the mood for tasty food and a welcoming atmosphere, I highly recommend Chaska Chai. It’s definitely worth the drive!

Food was ok. Not bad. Service was good too very attentive waiters. Decor inside was. Price wise I would say very expensive price ranged around £9 per dish. Toilets were absolutely unsanitary and smelt of urine. Very unpleasant to use.

Great prices, good food without being overtly spicy.

The food was good. However, the interior requires some marked maintenance. The couches were old and ragged, and some portion of the wall clothes were torn. The seating arrangements did not look tidy enough. The servers were very cordial though.

Service was OK but desi breakfast (halwa Puri) wasnt as i was expecting, too salty and chanay taste like they mixed with qourma.

There was only 1 waiter at breakfast time. He didn't listen to the oder properly, got us extra stuff which was not ordered and forced on us that we did oder. He was not writing the oder and not even repeated at the end. Didn't even apologise 🤔

After making wasted journey thought try this place as I was very hungry first I wanted butter chicken as it one my favourite desi i notice on the menu told by waiter they only got chicken jalfrazi so I have to have that instead the roti was rock hard to eat jalfrazi lack any spice very bland jalfrazi went toilet to wash my hands not paper towels to dry your hands definitely not coming back to this places pointless have menu if you haven't got dish's you want the waiter who served me can't fault him boy some need to send the so called chef to catering desi school and learn how to cook desi Currys the worse chicken jalfrazi I ever had lucky to get one star I give myself the other four stars I was one have to finished my meal don't like to waste food big major disappointment with rock hard bottom roti bread and very bad experience eating by the way what ever you called it it wasn't jalfrazi

We came to this restaurant the other day for iftaar. As we were in the local area, we decided to try out. It was buffet, good selection of food and snacks. The staff was friendly and helpful. I do recommend this place for dinner etc. Reasonably priced meals.

Went for the iftar buffet. Very pleasantly surprised, cost only £14 per person, drinks included. Although there are not that many dishes, the dishes they had were really well made. The food was delicious, samosas and pakoras were fantastic, seekh kebabs were delicious, as was the biryani. Would definitely recommend for people to come down and try it out, perfect for iftar.

We went for breakfast today Sunday 18th Feb 2024 and ordered a Desi breakfast and English breakfast and the food had no taste to it and found it to be over priced for what it was. My son accidently spilled his drink and I asked the waiter for a mop and even offered to clean it up myself, he did not say anything but his behaviour was rude towards us... however the older uncle I think he possibly is the owner or manager of this place was really helpful even replaced the drink for free of charge and said these things happen when young kids are involved and not to worry. The only positive think about today was this gentleman who had good customer service but since my last visit 6 months ago the place has definitely gone downhill.

Visited today at 6.15pm and the place was completely empty, no atmosphere nothing , then another 2 people came after us, the place is cash only and the nearest cash point is outside Lahore village a 5 min walk down the road. The waiter was nice and attentive and the food was ok but nothing special, wanted to eat a chicken karahi but was told they have no chicken so had to settle for lamb karahi, left around 7.30 and still the place was completely empty apart from the 2 people who came after us

The combination of the paratha and omelette was absolutely delicious. The crispy and flaky paratha perfectly complemented the fluffy and flavorful omelette. The richness of the eggs and the savory spices in the paratha created a mouthwatering harmony of flavors. It was truly a delightful and satisfying meal.

Absolutely disgusted and very disappointed with the food. The tawa is not freshly cooked. Its all heated up in the microwave, even the roti and naan. Don't waste your money in this place. They have made it look nice, you have invested in the decor, maybe invest in a new chef. Raw chicken curry

Had a quick nibble whilst shopping. Were greeted by waiter and given our table to sit at. Order masala fish alongside a kids meal. The food was very nice but would have preferred a larger portion size of the fish (were given four individual pieces), no salad. Only two sauces supplied (ketchup and chilli). Kids chicken nuggets were nice. Mango lassi +++

So where do I start, came in for lunch with family, got halwa puri with channa, nihari, paya, pashwari naan and tea. Food was really nice, really liked the curry for the paya, first time tried the pashwari naan and really nice got to say the honey on top was the perfect balance great with tea, the service from the waiters was really good ordered the food and came in good time. I am very pleased to come to the restaurant today with my family to have some breakfast/ lunch. The experience was amazing, very nice food, the staff was really friendly. I have to say the peshwari naan, nihari, and paya was really tasty. The decor in the restaurant was beautiful, took some pics. I cant wait to come again

V bad .... I visited around 6 pm several days ago with my family. The order was taken by the waiter and after that he disappeared. When it was a long time to be there , I saw the same waiter was coming to take orders from a new customer. Then I asked him what the matter was(because it's been a long time since I was here, even no water was provided). And I was shocked when he replied to me. He said , "Sir sorry for everything, In fact there is no chef available in the restaurant at the time and I am the only person here and I am cooking the food by myself that you ordered. I don't know about others but I am sharing my experience as I am residing in Coventry and went to Birmingham for food. And when we were leaving the place , the chef was coming in and he just passed the smile and ignored my complaint.

Im a big supporter of local small businesses but our first ever experience here, sadly was not a good one. I wanted a place to take my wife and kids to have lunch and this place caught my eye driving past. We sat down and order wasn't taken until 20 minutes of sitting at our tables. Finally once ordered we was waiting another 30 minutes and felt I should ask how long and was told 2-3 more minutes. The old man (who I think is the owner) was very rude towards his staff who felt they had had enough from being bossed around. I asked the waiter how long is the food going to be and the boss walked over and told him to stop chatting and get back to cleaning tables. Eventually after another 20 minutes I had to leave as the service was appalling and the food hadn't arrived. The old man couldn't care less and just charged us for the orange juice we drank and let us go out the door. What a complete waste of time. Maybe he should retire and let someone else run this for him as I genuinely do believe their food looked quite good.

The food is very underwhelming, order the paya for myself not at all sticky. My wife had the samosa chat which had no samosa. One child had fried egg breakfast with no butter on the toast. The second had a omelette which I requested not to be spicy and it made my eye water. The service is very poor asked for water for the children was told twice that only bottled water was available, snickered at for asking for tap water none available. The tea was fine not worth what I paid. The plates are clearly old some chip others black marks. Paid £30 for this utter joke. The only saving grace the venue was it was relatively empty.

Well it's been a while had some Pakistani breakfast so chose to go here and unfortunately was bit late so just had a normal lunch but was good though we ordered Lagori chana with naan and was great and delicious but it got all down when we had the tea sort to say that it wasn't fresh and after we left the restaurant my wife start feeling unwell bcz of the tea and she started vomiting over all every thing was good but just that incident made their reputation way down what i was expected and felt.

We ordered the Pakistani breakfast which was tasty and filling. The best thing was that it was served hot! Spacious seating with friendly staff.

We had such an amazing service at chaska and chai..such great management and chef. Especially the gentlemen called brother Abbas, he was extremely helpful as we came with both our children on wheelchairs and he made sure we had everything we needed and helped us carry the chairs in and out. We wish him all the best and please be sure to praise him for his hardwork when you go to visit. We would actually come back to Birmingham for this place, the food and service was incredible.

Our first time eating here and uncle made us feel so welcome and accommodated us, we had desi breakfast and it was so nice and flavourful, the atmosphere was clean, tidy and welcoming. My auntie drinks english tea and they do not serve this however uncle went out of his way to make some english tea for her and even gave his own cup and milk saucer, she also wanted to take home some more lassi saag for her autistic son and uncle gave us more for him and didn't even charge us extra. Overall amazing place to come and will definitely come again :).

The chanay and halwa were equally impressive in terms of their deliciousness. However, I must admit that the puris were too dry and flaky. Nonetheless, it was still a good Pakistani breakfast experience that I enjoyed.

Had a great authentic Pakistani style breakfast here. Food and service was great! The boss and the waiter was very polite and well mannered. Had some good conversation with the Boss. Very disappointed with this place. Im from London visiting Birmingham with my parents and brother. We ordered 4 karak chaii, 4 parathas and 4 omelette's after waiting for over 35 mins was served the food. The place is filthy and the boss not hospitable at all, im not sure how he is running that place. The parathas were thick and tasteless, the teas too sweet. When I went to pay I was charged £45.50p. I almost fainted, the eggs were £6.50 each, thats unheard of! When I questioned the boss, he replied well thats our prices. Please beware, daylight robbery!

This morning we went to get some breakfast. Me and my colleague ordered the nihari and paye with roghni naan, paratha, and the aloo paratha. The dishes came out hot and extemely tasty, the naan was really soft and tasty, and the paratha reminded me of home. Brilliant experience as always.would recommended.

Haji Shaab's restaurant is a gem! The warm ambiance and friendly staff made the dining experiences delightful. Their mouthwatering sheek kabab was a standout dish. Haji Shaab's personal touch as the owner made it even more special. A must-visit for all foods enthusiasts. Not to mention, their naan paratha, chai, and kheer are the best in town.

I visit here with my family regularly. Food is always fresh and tasty and presentation on point. Staff always go out their way to give exceptional customer service. My family always choose the Tawa as it has something for everyone, great portion size, value for money and most importantly every piece is delicious! The pomegranate mocktail is my fave. Don't leave without trying their tea - its beautiful! I've also tried their breakfast - went down a treat, and again staff were attentive and gave excellent service! Hajee saab is ever so lovely, I would definitely recommend Chaska and Chaii!

BEST GRILLED FOOD IN BIRMINGHAM! I was really impressed with the tawa, which offered a range of biryani, curries and grilled chicken and lamb. Perfect for a family dinner. The atmosphere is also suitable for family and children, which is supported by large seating areas allowing for conversation. Waiters were excellent and prompt with any additional needs. Also allowed us to bring our own cake and cut in the restaurant, additional cutlery, plates, and tissue were provided. Will visit again!

What can I say about this little gem, family visited here last night. Personally I'm a fan of sheesh kabab and lamb chomps. They were cooked to perfection, juicy and tasty. Loved them. Portion size was good, presentation spot on and smelled lovely. Wife enjoyed her breakfast again was spot on. Kids really liked there chicken loaded fries and we had to order another portion. Overall, a must try, well presented restaurant, nice and friendly staff, excellent service and food, place was busy and food came out quickly and efficiently. I would recommend this restaurant.

A lovely place to visit with the family and kids! There is something delicious for everyone! The environment is perfect, picturesque, and the food is even better. You can’t fault the quality! Everything is fresh and smells amazing! The kebabs are sized and spiced perfectly, the biryani is flavoursome, and the food portion sizes are better than most places. Staff who work here are pleasant, and present themselves very professionally. Everyone has a smile on their face. Once again, a lovely place to go. We will definitely visit again to try further options.

Absolutely nasty. Nothing was fresh, kebab where out of date I told the workers and he was like no it's not I said to him try it then he said sorry. Staff where rude. Wouldn't be surprised if they gave food poisoning. DO NOT GO THERE.

First time going here and definitely the last. Food is fresh but it's not tasty. The parathas and Puri's are so thick that I swear they're still raw. I actually felt sick after eating. Tea is nice though! Just don't have the Puri's or parathas otherwise you'll regret it

I had the halwa puri breakfast yesterday and thought it was one of the tastiest desi breakfasts I've had, I'm not from the midlands but it was my second time visiting Chaska & Chaii and I chose it as I'd enjoyed it the first time too. The lassi is made fresh unlike many other venues which was a refreshing change and the karak was also tasty I dined alone as a young woman, it was one of the few places that feels comfortable to do so unlike many other venues in the area. I also took away some samosa chaat which was very tasty.

Avoid at all cost. Went for breakfast, food was reheated and smells really bad. Nothing was fresh and the service was pretty bad. Total Rip off.

First time went to the restaurant for breakfast last weekend with my family. Overall the food and service was pleasant and we will return In Sha Allah. Owner please note, the chef needs wear a full hair net, not just a cap. He has long hair almost to shoulder length. Only noticed this whilst waiting to pay, and hygiene is very important. This is why I’ve taken a star off from my rating

Travelled from london for a family event and made sure to pit stop for some brekkie at this place, and, what an absolutely diabolical, filthy and unacceptable experience it was. From the offset, the manager / owner was very unwelcoming asking us wait over 15 mins to be seated when the restaurant was half empty (claiming all tables are booked), he then tried to make two of us sit on a single persons table! And then with a family leaving we were moved to that table. We then Waited another period of time before the food was bought to us. NOW NOTE: since we sat down at this table, NO ONE had even bothered to clean the table after the previous customers and instead they had the audacity to bring our food expecting us to eat with all the present dirty plates and dirty table. I had words with waiter who the apologised and retuned with a couple of tissues in an attempt to clean the table but instead smudged all the dirt everywhere. After some more words, he returned with a spray and some more tissues, and now, after some DIY cleaning … the table was finally decent enough to have food on. So we began eating our food. We ordered … Halwa, Channa, Paya, Samosa Chaat and Naans. Firstly the Naans we ok, they seemed nice, fresh hot and decent. But unfortunately … that’s where it all stops and it goes downhill from here. The Channa were cold, bland, tasteless and the gravy wasn’t fully cooked. It seemed as if they ran out of gravy so added some water and reheated the dish. The Paya was cold and the gravy was thick and more like a nihari gravy rather than what you would expect a Paya gravy to be like. The Halwa was very oily, not to sweet which was nice, but cold and oily isn’t what I would serve Halwa as. But we were hungry and angry, tired and now running late to attend a family event, so decided rather waste the food let’s just eat. So we did. Well at least for about 2-3 minutes before we found hairs (yes NOT 1 but several) in the Paya Gravy. Not just any hair, dark black curly pubic style hairs mixed with some brown hairs So I immediately called the waiter who noticing the amount of hairs apologised and said he would change the dish. But by now enough was enough, so asked him to take it back to the chef and cancel the item from our bill, and bill us up. We were not going to finish the food as we were now put off the food totally. Most people would have simply walked out the restaurant without paying, but knowing the waiter was being pressured by the boss and fearing he may lose his job, we decided to pay the bill minus the Payas. We then refused to have the rest of the food packed for takeaway. If I am not willing to eat that unhealthy, unhygienic food. Then why will I pack it up .. I wouldn’t even feed that to a Dog. We then went to pay and noticed the boss run up to waiter, whisper something into the waiters ear and then head off upstairs to the office area. Upon paying and taking my receipt I realised they didn’t remove, but instead charged me in full for the Hairy Payas. As I had now already been tricked into paying, so I asked how this had happened. The staff replied it was the bosses call, and that the waiter was simply following instruction. I asked to speak with the boss but was told he is in the toilet. Now the hairy Paya dishes were less than £10 each but it was the bloody principle here that if items should have removed, then remove term. Do not pretend to remove and trick the customer into paying. The boss was in the loo for over 10-15 minutes and then we were advised he had left to pray. Which basically meant he ran away after instructing his waiter to de-fraud us from my money. We were now running very late for a family event so decided just to not cause a scene and waste time and just leave, and expose this low life scum who shouldn’t be in-charge of any eatery, by leaving a fully informed review. So If you wish for a clean environment, fresh food and good ambience. Then STAY AWAY. If however you enjoy cold, oily and full of hair food served on dirty tables with previous customers plates and mess still present, then you’ll love this place ❤️. And remember, be prepared for the boss to defraud you of your money 💰 even if it’s just a penny. Because that all his mindset is worth.

We went to Chaska and chaii today for lunch. We had chicken saag karahi and lamb karahi, the food was delicious we really enjoyed it and kids. so have to rate them on that. But have got to say the service and wait was absolutely dreadful and the staff were so un-attentive and slow. Had to repeatedly call them and ask them how long the wait would be. we went at 1.30 and our order wasn't taken till around 2.15 and then food arrived just around 3ish that to as i nagged and asked for it to be quick. Service and wait time is very bad and there is no structure in place. The atmosphere was lovely but it was extremely busy. Husband wanted Puri and chole but by the time we was served they had stopped serving it as apparently after 1.30 they don't do puri chole.

Service is an absolute joke. The old man [front of house] didn't really care, waited over 10 minutes before we got menus, and an hour before we got our food. The waiter hardly spoke any English, and when asked for anything, he would acknowledge it and would not bring what was asked. Food was less than mediocre, halwa puri and channa weren't the best 4/10, the nihari was 7/10, on completion of the meal we wanted to take the remainder meal out but we was told we don't do take away. Wouldn't personally go there again unless the front of house was changed to someone who knows what they are doing instead of piling people in and making them stand untill a seat is available, customer service skills definitely need fixing, far better place to eat on the ladypool road like taste of pakistan.

I am thoroughly disappointed with Atmosphere on a Saturday. The place was completely empty, devoid of any atmosphere or liveliness. I ordered two teas for takeout, and the experience was excruciatingly slow, taking even longer than Royal Mail's delivery. The tea was disgustingly sweet and tasted like sugar water, and to top it off, the flimsy cups resulted in the entire beverage spilling on me. The staff was equally disappointing, lacking any personality or charm. I found it easier to converse with my cat than the lifeless and unsmiling staff. The whole experience left me feeling let down and dissatisfied.

Where to start! This place is amazing when it comes to customer service and even more so the food is amazing !!! The Nihari is the best we have ever had out. The prathas again so authentic not these frozen Shan ones like everywhere else. The plates always come out warmed. The milk for the tea again comes out warm and fresh tasting The quality of the chappli kabab is also amazing and so juicy!! Honestly I can’t recommend this place enough. We drive 20 miles with a toddler to come here and it never disappoints. Thankyou to all the waitering staff and the owner who is so humble and always on hand to help. May your business blossom in sha allah and Thankyou again for a lovely plate of food. Jzk

Overrated tawa grill. Rice were old didn't even take a bite. Chops weren't cooked properly and the service was very poor. Told the waitress about the food and all I got back was that 'I will let the chef know' Never again
