Our second visit albeit some time ago, ordered two smaller plates aloo tikka chaat & samosa chaat whilst not what we expected interesting and tasty ingredients. Our mains were lamb curry what a disappointment thin brown almost gravy like curry sauce there was an abundance of meat cubes soft but tasteless.We shared a pilau rice which was fine and a garlic nan, the nan was light. Other diners had arrived and whatever they had ordered smelt great.when we told the waitress we were disappointed with the curry she told us it wasn't their usual chef , apparently she did tell chef about our complaint but no one came to discuss. The curry was listed as gluten free ? Was this the reason for no flavour.staff pleasant but we won't return.

Discusting dry food, not a curry at all.. just dry meat. Naan was so thin it was transparent..no flavour. chips were fried in old fat! Rice dry! When I told them my thoughts, he went into kitchen and told manager who all laughed, because I said it was edible but not a curry! It was my birthday treat, and they laughed about that too!! Waitress scruffy, waiter not even a there u go, just plonked on table!

Always love going here we are regulars when we are in Solihull, friends gathering or the girls. Fabulous staff, great menu choices and drinks also. Can get noisy sometimes but to be expected in a popular and vibrant venue. Food never dissapoints and always am enjoyable visit. Not overly priced either ... see you again soon.

I visited this venue for the first time in around 4 or 5 years. I met up with friends and we decided to meet there for a meal and a catch up. I was made to wait for what seemed like an eternity to be acknowledged and recognised as a human being when I arrived at the bar. Once I was eventually acknowledged, I ordered x2 pints of Guinness at £5.50 each (£11.00 in total) which makes me cringe when I know I can get a 4 cans of Guinness in a pack of 4 for the same price at a local store. The venue looked clean and it was well patronised. When my friends and I placed our order, I was a little surprised how the waiter delivered the food at our table. He pretty much threw down the bowls in the way a person would throw and fling down a bowl of food for their cat or dog at home! This seemed completely acceptable and normal to him. There was no finesse or panache about how the food was delivered - no due care and consideration at all. We are not pets or animals - but fee-paying humans! The food I ordered was quite pleasant, but nothing to write home about. I loved the Chilli Prawns – they were delicious and I would certainly go back just for these alone. The Lamb Curry was okay, but lacked the ferocity and burn I was looking for to enhance the flavour. The Cumin Rice I ordered was a little watery and oily. The venue promised much, but I was disappointed at the level of service. The art of customer service has been consigned to a distant memory, it seems to me. It’s a case of “grab the money – get the food out, and onto the next!” The customer service makes a dining out experience more memorable and somehow – enhances the quality of the food received to. Apart from the prawns – I didn’t really like this place, as I do not believe it really appreciates or knows how to properly recognise customers. Unless it changes – it’s days are well and truly numbered.

Went on a Thursday night, place was packed but managed to get a table within 10 mins of arriving. Lovely, bustling atmosphere, food is incredible (and amazing value considering the portion sizes), and staff are top notch. Will definitely go again.

Chicken curry with garlic naan was delicious!

The food was amazing, and the drinks were uniquely delightful. It's a great place to try Indian cuisine, with excellent service and a very helpful server. The washroom is super clean and spacious. We'll definitely return.

Food was amazing. Myself and 2 friends ordered a few things between us to share and try and the everything was really lovely. Fabulous service too. We had a lovely evening and reasonably priced, too.

Lovely food and great selection of craft beer and cider. You can watch sport in the bar area. Also, you can just go for some beers. You don't have to order food.

Best curry in Solihull, the bonus is the fact that it is open at lunchtime, because the portions are large and being an old geezer eating after 5pm is a no no.The fish curry. Is fantastic

Hadn't booked and originally just went for a drink. Food smelled so good we ended up ordering food. Service and the food were exceptional. One of my favourite places to be.

The quality of the curries have gone down hill and the mixed grill is expensive for what it is in comparison to other local desi bars. I've been comming here monthly for a while but think it's time for a change. Manager dismissed concerns and didn't want to know. The mixed grill was greasy and not sizzling , it was also a small portion for £20+ I expected more. Disappointed

Lovely place. Staff were great, really helpful. Ordered the Chicken Curry, Pilau Rice and Garlic Nan. Unfortunately the Chicken Curry was really watery, no substance to the Sauce. Unfortunately there was a hair in the rice aswell.

Lady who served us was lovely, genuine and very helpful. I asked about gluten free beer battered bhajis that are on the menu but was told not to have them, which is always good advice if unsure! I have also now noticed a coeliac menu and they are not listed so it's good that I was advised not to eat them. Overall a good experience, good was lovely, staff were lively and not too expensive! Will definitely be returning.

Food is too oily and bland...drinks are over rated and over priced ...keeping fancy names doesn't result in good food or good beer...won't recommend

Sheesh Kebab starter was lovely and madras chips, tika in starters is flavourless and mild in temperature. Mains (chicken curry & lamb keema) were the worst ive tasted, basically microwaved, runny and flavourless. Staff handled our complaints really well though, would go for a pint there but not for food. #neveragain

Situated near lots of restaurants the Tap and Tandor is like an Indian restaurant meets sports bar meets a pub. Welcomed upon arrival, great vibe and very busy with an awesome aroma of Indian food. Relaxed seating with many tv screens showing football/ sport. We opted for the loaded naan to start and mixed grill with prawns. To be honest, food massive, but great taste and couldn’t eat everything. Naans loaded are huge. Great friendly service. Definitely go again. Enjoy

I only order delivery so I can't imagine how amazing this food is in real life! It's fresh and has a very authentic taste to it. I usually go for the soya dishes like the keema and they are seasoned perfectly. Their garlic naan is my go-to but would love to see a garlic and chilli naan as an option. Their samosa chaat is usually a hit and their masala fries are perfectly seasoned with their masala blend. Delivery is super quick and the food has always been nice and hot. It's my go-to for curry in Solihull.

Had an evening out at Tap and Tandoor last Saturday night with friends and had a fantastic time. Plenty of options on the menu whether you want hot and spicy or something a little less so. Between us, we had the large mixed grill, chilli chicken, butter chicken, mixed veg curry and the masala chips were great too. Loads of options for the beer drinkers among us too on draught which was a bonus. In all, a brilliant evening out and highly recommended.

Unbeatable!!! THE best venue in Solihull without a doubt. Went with my wife, kids and parents and throughly enjoyed the experience. Amazing service from friendly staff who couldn’t be more helpful. A wide selection of great beers and drinks for all and then the food was out of this world. Great selection I shared the mixed grill and would highly recommend it. The kids meals are also amazing value and whilst milder than the adult menu don’t miss out on flavour. I will be returning again and again and again!!!

Go here as often as we can. Always great food, the staff are superb, friendly and swift. Beer selection is also 👌👌 Went for mother's day and it was awesome as usual and I even got to watch the villa match!! We have booked big group tables every Christmas for the last number of years and it never disappoints.

Incredible food. Always busy!! So book!!

We have been here so many times since opening and always loved it but tonight was very disappointing. The food was okish ( but not a patch on previous visits) . The service was fine . But at about 10.15 the waitress came over to tell us they were closing. When I said the website says 11o clock , we were told , well once there is only one table left in ,we close!! Didn't make us feel very valued customers to be basically told you are the last so we are closing 45 minutes before closing time!!

I read a few things on here from fellow desi folk that had me worried about visiting this pub - restaurant, but I'm glad I still went here regardless. Visited on a weekday lunchtime. Was getting lively around then but not crazily busy, which is good. Staff were great, very polite and attentive. The Large Mixed Grill surprised me as it is the most equally balanced one I've had, not overloaded with wings like most of them, and four lamb chops were on it! The only downside is you have to pay extra if you want fish on there. That said, they accidentally put a piece of salmon on mine so I got lucky! Beer selection is good, I found one I really liked so had a cheeky 2nd pint. I have a Solihull BID card so managed to get 10% knocked off the bill.

Wouldn't recommend if disabled or coeliac. Booked for my mother in law's birthday, as a wheelchair user I didn't think I would have to do anything further than confirm the place was accessible then book a table. Table was booked a week in advance and included in the notes was a message confirming that there was a wheelchair user and that there was an allergy. When we arrived, the waitress looked a shade of white after it became apparent that they hadn't bothered to check the notes and sat on a table that was in fact taller than me! They confirm multiple times that I wouldn't be able use a high table, they then informed me that would move stuff around and try to figure something out... not a great start. No apology for the delay or any recognition that there wording made me feel like a burden or like being a disabled person in the 21st century was such an unheard of thing, including hearing a member of staff referring to us as a s**t storm. We then had to stand and watch a family who had only just finished eating, be offered their bill and ushered quickly off their table. Next we confirmed with the server that we had an allergy, she then informed us that the menu was out of date and to scan the QR code to confirm cross contamination. After checking the app where none of the side flagged as cross contamination we were then informed that was also wrong and even though 90% of the sides were labelled as gluten free on the menu, but are actually fried in the same oil and fryer as gluten, therefore making them not gluten free. While our main server did her best to be accommodating the whole event was a shambles and generally unwelcoming. I couldn't help but feel like everyone was on egg shells at the disabled person who god forbid wanted to eat at a table they could sit on. The staff as a whole need to just learn how to read the notes on the booking system, or even pop a note on advising to phone if you need something specific!

All in all - good food 👍🏻 We ordered Dal Makhani and Mix Veg. The mix veg was really nice. Dal on the other hand could have been better.

Got a takeaway from Tap and Tandoor. The Masala Chips were dry and hard. The Mixed Grill was very average. Most of the Chicken Kebabs were dry. The Lamb Chops were the worst I have ever tasted. It was like eating cardboard. The Garlic Naan and Dal Makhani were of good standard. Overall not very impressed and won't be in a hurry to return there.

Visited with work colleagues to celebrate my 60th on Tuesday lunchtime. As usual food was very good but staff spoiled me with a warm brownie and ice cream. Thank you!

Man vs Food!! What a great place!! Tap and Tandoor was 5 mins walk from my hotel, so I booked there rather than eat the average hotel food and boy am I pleased I did! I ordered a Naan Slider to start which came with Sheekh Kebab and it was HUUUUGGEEEE!! Fortunately it came out at the same time as my main - Hariyali Chicken and Pilau Rice, so I was ablet to have a buffet-style meal. For £7.95 the starter was incredible value and so tasty. The main course was also really good. I was unable to take advantage of the selction of craft ales they offer as I am not drinking alcohol. But the selection looked really good. Service wassuper-fast and very efficient. Next time I'm in the area I will be revisiting definitely!!

So disappointed in Tap and Tandoor, I've been ordering takeaway for ages until October when I decided to eat their for my birthday with all my friends and family. I had a couple of people showing up late so the manager kept telling me he is going to take a table off me. (Late by 10 mins minimum) Still I did not let it ruin the night. Went again last Sunday with my work colleagues as I said they had a lot of vegan food. After ordering I was told that my food labeled vegan was not vegan. I asked why it stated vegan on the menu. I had 3 different staff members coming back and forth to tell me that the food was not vegan but then for them to say it was. I have an allergy to dairy. My colleague needed halal food to be told that all meat/chips etc is cooked in the same oil. So disappointed would not recommend. The manager is also rude af

Loud football on tv’s which were out of sync with one another, food was excellent if a little overpriced for the portion you got. Big selection of beer and a few ciders plus lilleys cider on offer

I have previously been to the Tap with my dad for a beer, but this was the first time for food. Came with wife and two children, 4 and 6 years old. Went for the mixed grill sharer for two, and the kids had a fish and chips, and a butter chicken curry. We also tried masala fries and the fried Okra. The food was amazing! There was plenty on the sizzling platter. On a hungry day, I could've given it a good go myself! We tried the kids' food and the fish was masala fish and that was nice. The butter chicken curry was smooth and not spicy, so the little one enjoyed that. The gent who waited on us was polite and welcoming. A very pleasant person. I can't remember his name but we went in at 12pm lunchtime on Sunday 7th Jan. The only gripe, and not worthy of docking any stars, is that the naan's felt like tawa naan, rather than a tandoor naan. I suspect, despite the name, there isn't a tandoor in the kitchen. I could be wrong. Was great, next time, wife and I will be going ourselves to experience more!

Recently had a large family gathering here (28 of us) the staff were incredibly helpful from booking, taking our pre order and service on the day. They allowed us to have the food at times that suited us and were very attentive throughout. Amy in particular was fantastic. Thank you

I was recommended by a friend to this place. I went with my family. Its a pub nothing special, but a problem had arose the boss had big attitude which just ruined the day.interm of food the large mixed grill taste was good but its £28.50+VAT. We have ordered 2 curries (lamb curry and chicken saag) and asked to make it spicy but it wasn't spicy especially chicken saag was so bland.Spent £70+14 VAT.which is not worth indefinitely not recommended

Had a beautiful curry at this establishment, although it didn't agree with my stomach and I was sat on the loo in pain for an hour once I'd got home

pretty normal pub when u first walk in. We ordered everything and we asked where we should sit which the lady said u can sit wherever. When we sat down what appeared to be like the the boss had came to us very aggressively with an attitude. We proceeded to order 70 pounds worth of food (10 pound VAT added on). The curry portions were very minimal and couldn't even be classed a main dish. The waiters were okay. Not a great experience and wont come back. Waste of a time.

This was the first time trying this place and will be definitely coming back! Food was all fantastic, would definitely recommend the bhajis! And the 'naan slider' was much bigger than expected - we definitely ordered too much! And such good value for money! Won't be long until we are back!
