Tap & Tandoor in Solihull

Visited recently and just dropped in without a booking, it was a little awkward as the place was relatively empty and when asked if we had a booking and we got the impression that it was booked up and someone had to check the computer. However upon being seated we were pleasantly surprised with the craft beers available, and the food was bang on. Absolutely delicious and fresh. Staff were friendly and approachable. And I’m sorry to say this, but the beer keg urinals in the men’s, the craftsmanship, never seen anything like it!

Always love going here we are regulars when we are in Solihull, friends gathering or the girls.

Went here tonight for the first time. Wasn’t that busy at first but filled up more. Food was good and fresh, reasonably priced for Solihull. Great selection of craft beers and a decent cocktail menu. Would return. The Manager was extremely friendly and introduced himself.

The Food was great and tasteful. the Service was great and atmosphere was electrifying.

It's a small menu but the food is good. We were able to get our chicken currys madras hot, which was nice. Prices were reasonable and the service was excellent. I'd go back again

Usual good service and excellent food,really big portion on the fish curry,I always struggle to finish but force myself.I only gave 3 stars for atmosphere because we are 1st through the door @ 12 noon so a bit quiet but that's not a problem

I sneaked into this place for a Liverpool match a few days ago.... tried the mix grill platter while gulping a few beers...it was an awesome experience...cosy atmosphere yummy food and very friendly and helpful staff

Mixed starter was nice, chilli chicken delicious, lamb curry tasty and naan was amazing. Only negatives are they don’t sell popadoms and they didn’t have the Pilsner that I like on tap.

It was nice, they "lost" my complimentary tip left on the tray?! A part from that it was all good, abs very high quality restaurant & service & food

Habíamos ido al cine y decidimos quedarnos en el centro para tomar algo de comer. Hay un montón de restaurantes, pero tan pronto como este se menciona nos dirigimos allí. Era bastante temprano así que logramos conseguir una mesa y siempre pedimos lo mismo, porque a los dos nos encanta. La lista de cerveza artesanal cambia constantemente, lo cual es genial y me da la oportunidad de probar algunas cervezas inusuales. Gran favorito.

Down for the weekend from Scotland for the NEC car show. Lovely meal here last night, we has the butter chicken, lamb curry, chips, rice & plain Nan, we both agreed the butter chicken was the best we have ever had, incredible value for money here too, staff were very friendly, helpful & always asked if there was anything we needed. Our only small disappointment was there was no popadoms available. Other than that this place deserves full marks & if I was ever back down in the future this would be my first choice.

Wonderful service with friendly staff and a clean atmosphere. All the food was delicious. The team are very knowledgable about dietary requirements and make the effort to double check when ordering which is much appreciated. It’d be great if the portion sizes were a little bigger though!

Solo estuvimos en Solihull por una noche y ya había reservado un restaurante cerca. Paramos en The Tap y Tandoor para tomar un par de copas en el camino. Estaba ocupado con casi todo el mundo comiendo y solo unas 2 mesas vacías. No dejaba que mi pareja se sentara en uno de estos en caso de que impidiera que alguien entrara a comer y obtuviera una mesa, así que nos apartamos de los taburetes de los bares de la esquina. Recibimos una cálida bienvenida, especialmente porque solo allí para un par de lo que eran bebidas encantadoras. El olor y el aspecto de la comida era absolutamente increíble y podía ver que todo el mundo estaba disfrutando a fondo. Definitivamente lo intentaré cuando regrese a la ciudad

Best place to eat and chill in Solihull! We've been here a number of times and never disappointed. The food is absolutely gorgeous, I highly recommend the mixed grill shared platter- so exciting when you hear it sizzling as its bought over and then the flavours are perfect 👌. Also, try the beer battered onion bhajis - I'd eat a whole plate of these if I could! Staff are lovely and very welcoming, we met the manager once and he was wonderful, really friendly and funny. Large selection of drinks and plenty of seating.

Mixed grill is overpriced and states for 2 people. 2 of each item only. Not enough between the two of us. Not worth £21. Better out there. Removed large mixed grill from menu. They've gotten greedy. Will not return.

Lost 2 stars as they no longer accept our dogs in.

I was recommended by a friend to this place. I went with my family. Its a pub nothing special, but a problem had arose the boss had big attitude which just ruined the day.interm of food the large mixed grill taste was good but its £28.50+VAT. We have ordered 2 curries (lamb curry and chicken saag) and asked to make it spicy but it wasn't spicy especially chicken saag was so bland.Spent £70+14 VAT.which is not worth indefinitely not recommended

Lovely decor and atmosphere. Waitress was really attentive and had a good knowledge of the menu. Food arrived after a short wait and was delicious. Can't fault the venue,food or service.

Eat here regularly and the staff are always courteous and friendly. Daysi in particular is so helpful, with a great personality and attitude. Always a pleasure!

Quality of food was great as was the service and drinks, my only complaint is that the prices do NOT include VAT, I eat out quite a lot in the Solihull area and have never seen this before, nothing on the menu to say that VAT needs to be added, a £59.76 I’ll came out at £71.71 , quite a difference, I feel like it was being hidden as we were not told, we don’t think we will return, the food was good but 1 out of 1000 restaurants in Birmingham, be aware!

I ate here whilst staying in a nearby hotel on business. The concept is an interesting one: craft beers and Indian food. The menu isn’t very large and I was considering trying somewhere else. I’m so pleased that I didn’t! The food was excellent and the beer was much enjoyed. I would very happily eat here again, notwithstanding quite a noisy atmosphere.

I visited the restaurant from Chicago, United States. This restaurant has the best palak paneer, lamb keema, mixed platter and chicken chili. Special thanks to chef badri for the remarkable food experience.

Afternoon meal, mixture of food, all cooked fresh,wine , beer and food all very reasonable priced, staff friendly and professional, will definitely be eating here again,,Ned Solihull 👍

Have been coming here since it opened but very disappointed in the last couple of visits. Top of the list is the sizzling platters for 2. They’re great if you only want to have chicken wings! On our most recent (and last) visit we had x2 pieces of tikka, x1 lamb chop and x2 1/4 slices of shish kebab. Felt a bit ripped off tbh. That’s poor form, especially when other local establishments like Soho Tavern, who offer way better equivalents and better quality. Second up is the beer, whilst some ales still remain it’s gone a bit high street.

Our second visit albeit some time ago, ordered two smaller plates aloo tikka chaat & samosa chaat whilst not what we expected interesting and tasty ingredients. Our mains were lamb curry what a disappointment thin brown almost gravy like curry sauce there was an abundance of meat cubes soft but tasteless.We shared a pilau rice which was fine and a garlic nan, the nan was light. Other diners had arrived and whatever they had ordered smelt great.when we told the waitress we were disappointed with the curry she told us it wasn't their usual chef , apparently she did tell chef about our complaint but no one came to discuss. The curry was listed as gluten free ? Was this the reason for no flavour.staff pleasant but we won't return.

Another superb meal @ Tap&Tandoor. The food is always excellent , very busy last night and a lovely atmosphere. Aiden always looks after us well and is an asset to the business ....however we'd like to see him back in Greens!

Discusting dry food, not a curry at all.. just dry meat. Naan was so thin it was transparent..no flavour. chips were fried in old fat! Rice dry! When I told them my thoughts, he went into kitchen and told manager who all laughed, because I said it was edible but not a curry! It was my birthday treat, and they laughed about that too!! Waitress scruffy, waiter not even a there u go, just plonked on table!

I visited this venue for the first time in around 4 or 5 years. I met up with friends and we decided to meet there for a meal and a catch up. I was made to wait for what seemed like an eternity to be acknowledged and recognised as a human being when I arrived at the bar. Once I was eventually acknowledged, I ordered x2 pints of Guinness at £5.50 each (£11.00 in total) which makes me cringe when I know I can get a 4 cans of Guinness in a pack of 4 for the same price at a local store. The venue looked clean and it was well patronised. When my friends and I placed our order, I was a little surprised how the waiter delivered the food at our table. He pretty much threw down the bowls in the way a person would throw and fling down a bowl of food for their cat or dog at home! This seemed completely acceptable and normal to him. There was no finesse or panache about how the food was delivered - no due care and consideration at all. We are not pets or animals - but fee-paying humans! The food I ordered was quite pleasant, but nothing to write home about. I loved the Chilli Prawns – they were delicious and I would certainly go back just for these alone. The Lamb Curry was okay, but lacked the ferocity and burn I was looking for to enhance the flavour. The Cumin Rice I ordered was a little watery and oily. The venue promised much, but I was disappointed at the level of service. The art of customer service has been consigned to a distant memory, it seems to me. It’s a case of “grab the money – get the food out, and onto the next!” The customer service makes a dining out experience more memorable and somehow – enhances the quality of the food received to. Apart from the prawns – I didn’t really like this place, as I do not believe it really appreciates or knows how to properly recognise customers. Unless it changes – it’s days are well and truly numbered.

Went on a Thursday night, place was packed but managed to get a table within 10 mins of arriving. Lovely, bustling atmosphere, food is incredible (and amazing value considering the portion sizes), and staff are top notch. Will definitely go again.

The food was amazing, and the drinks were uniquely delightful. It's a great place to try Indian cuisine, with excellent service and a very helpful server. The washroom is super clean and spacious. We'll definitely return.

Hadn't booked and originally just went for a drink. Food smelled so good we ended up ordering food. Service and the food were exceptional. One of my favourite places to be.

The quality of the curries have gone down hill and the mixed grill is expensive for what it is in comparison to other local desi bars. I've been comming here monthly for a while but think it's time for a change. Manager dismissed concerns and didn't want to know. The mixed grill was greasy and not sizzling , it was also a small portion for £20+ I expected more. Disappointed
