The food is really tasty and we always have a takeaway on Friday night and it’s worth it .

We love the decor! Good service and very helpful with allergen information. The food was delicious.

I was really looking forward to this place as I had visited their other location in Mailbox. When we walked in the decor was stunning. The atmosphere was exactly how I expected it to me. The server sat us down and gave us menus and walked off. We waited over 20 minutes for the server to come back and ask us our order. Customers who came in after us were served and given drinks before the server had even came to ask if we were ready. The service was honestly not great at all. Maybe it was a one off but the server really didn’t seem like she wanted to be there. There was only 2 front of house staff and it made sense to why our service was slow but seeing others served before us showed it wasn’t the reason for the slow service. When the food came out, it was lacking flavour. Compared to their other location, this wasn’t even close. I was honestly shocked at how different they were taste wise. The chole bature was very watered down - no depth of flavours. The gol gappa bombs were mostly yogurt, there was hardly any chutney. Masala chips, very basic. Aloo pyaz ke pakora was probably the nicest thing we ordered but again they were overly salty. I honestly really enjoy indico Mailbox and I’m disappointed that Shirley lacked service and lacked flavour. Definitely wasn’t worth the trip.

My experience at this restaurant was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived until I left, I felt welcomed and pampered by the food and the service. I highly recommend. it I will be back soon to this restaurant 🫡

Food was actually food but they are really frugal/not generous with their food portions. We ordered a butter chicken and rogan josh- each curry had about 6 pieces of small meat? The rest was sauce. Food was good but not worth the money if that’s all the meat you get. Even ordered Popadoms and they literally gave one broken one to make it look like there was loads but there wasn’t. Didn’t give a lot of chutney either. £60 on a takeaway to get small portions- not great.

What a find! This place is amazing & the food was incredible. From the front you can’t see that it is a beautiful restaurant with 2 stories, covered in murals. The food was so good: big portions, succulent meat and lots of things to choose from. Every mouthful was better than the last. They also have an extensive gin/cocktail/mocktail menu. We’ll definitely be going back again!

Just finished a meal with family on a Sunday afternoon. Awesome flavours and variety. Everyone was very satisfied. So impressed compared to other "curry houses". Based on our visit we will definitely return when we visit Shirley next time. UPDATE - are visiting Indico for the 5th time with family (it has become the place we go when we visit). Never had a bad meal and stand by every word of my review.

Excellent vegetarian options with elegant Interiors and lots of seating upstairs which is ideal for large party. The service was also prompt and excellent. ( Thanks to Sam). The Daal Makhani was delicious and so wss the veg biryani and tandoori roti. However a great place and will definitely visit again

Hi just wanted to leave this here as a warning went in with family waited over half hour for our food to be ready when food came it was cold same day there was a delivery driver to pick up a delivery there was one pupil that started saying he is not going to give the delivery to him then tells him to go wait outside for 20 mins like he was a slave or something after like 10-15 mins goes outside to him and tells him who he isn’t following orders just wanted to say that they have lack of respect to delivery drives and food is not what you expect stop wasting money and time! Cheers!

So , The atmosphere is nice , The ineterior is classic Indian , upto this point every thing looks fine , the story begans from ordering the food , Number one its highly expensice more than double than normal price range , meal for 9 costed us 360 which was not worth 150 even , the size of platers was very small to what they charge , The samosa chat has only some chaley and couple of samosa without any chutney or salad , the pani puri gappa were broken and only 5 in a plater , Drinks were over priced too , but the worse bit was mains , DONOT GO FOR TAKA TAK , original taka tak is made on tawa and its without paste but they made it into a pee made paste which was nasty in taste and same with Paneer , the portions have 3 4 small pieces of chicken or paneer and rest was thick taste less paste .... Real Street Foodies should avoid as its a rip off in the name . Not recommanded

A wonderfully interesting themed and stunning setting. Our server that boy was charming, more than happy to enthusiastically explain the food. I was visited last saturday and Overall, dining at this restaurant was a delight from start to finish and the service provided by that boy was awesome

Really enjoyed a meal out here. We were a large group and Sam and the team did a top job serving us. They do a range of starters and mains but what I was drawn to was their thalis. A great way to try lots of tasty little dishes. I myself really enjoyed the 'Chefs thali' which consisted of papadum, aloo pyaaz ke pakora, daal makhani, makai palak, rice, naan, raita I chose the Lamb Rogan Josh and the Paneer Makhanwala. The lamb was nicely spiced, with a good heat to the curry and decent chunks of meat in a rich sauce. The paneer was tasty too, but the sauce a little sweet for me personally. Sam said next time to let the team know how hot, spicy etc and they can tweak to taste. The other elements of the thali were nice too. I enjoyed the varying textures and tastes and really liked the daal. Everyone in our group adults and kids enjoyed their meals overall, and the service was top. We will be back again soon I'm sure. 👍🏽

Thali is good and chat is okie. We ordered some thalis and chat and alacarte items. Thali and alacarte dishes were good but chaat is mediocre. A good place to have Indian food around - probably one of the best around.

low quality service and manager is very rude and unprofessional And third class management

Had £56 to pay and gave £60 cash. It was the first experience I ever had where the manager asked the waitress to come back and ask us if we’d like the change back. We felt embarrassed for them so of course we let them keep it but come on? What sort of service is this? Food was average and they kept forgetting to bring us things we asked for, but managed to pressure us into giving a tip. Very cheeky I must say.

We, a family of four went for dinner at 9:10pm and ordered garlic naans, chilli chicken, butter chicken 🍗 It was finger licking yum 😋 my kids order one more chilli chicken. Overall it was yummy dinner night.

My daughter gave birth to our first grandchild this week. She and her husband live in Birmingham. We live in Reading. We drove to see our new grandson and decided to be with them overnight. So, we decided to get a takeaway from Indico, Shirley - through Deliveroo. We spent about £70. When the order eventually turned up there were 3 items missing. A butter nan, pakoras and a main meat dish - chicken takatak. We rang the restaurant and spoke to a ’Sam’ who identified himself as the manager. We told him that there were 3 dishes missing and he said that that can’t be the case as ‘he packed the order himself’. This equates to calling us liars! Which I am deeply offended by. We restated the fact that there were 3 dishes missing. He disagreed and told us to contact Deliveroo. We told him that our food was getting cold and to despatch the missing items, which he was not prepared to do. This complete episode spoilt our dinner as our stress levels were so high. By the way, the receipt was also missing from the carrier bags that carried the food. There were staple marks on the bag, but no receipt. What was meant to be a nice family meal turned out to be a total disaster as by time we got to eat the food it was cold. Sam, particularly as a manager should not claim his customers are liars as he couldn’t be wrong in packing the food items - so arrogant! The least the restaurant should do is to give us a full refund and an apology. The manager should also be re-trained on two things:1. how to speak to customers and not to imply that his customers are lying and 2. how to pack orders correctly We certainly won’t be ordering from them again! I would like to respond to the owners comments. Let’s stick to the facts. You got the order wrong, not the delivery company. They did not ‘mess up’ as suggested in your response - you did. Not one item, but three were NOT delivered ! Your colleague (Sam) was rude right from the beginning, believing he could not be wrong in packing the order. This is why we got upset, not accepting his own mistake. The arrogance of the man! He needs retraining to how to interact with customers politely. He did not say that he would be sending out the missing items as he believed that he wasn’t wrong. He was! We were not swearing or rude. This a lie to try to save ‘face’ to appear to be caring customer focussed organisation. We were just trying to get a complete meal that we had paid for and were looking forward to eating. Who you choose to believe is up to you. All we know that we will never be ordering from this place again. Rude, arrogant man!

Went here as it had a proper menu rather than generic anglicized curry only. Food was fresh and high quality. Service was great. Chilli Paneer and Naan were particular standouts, but everything we had was good. Was slightly expensive but not unreasonable for the quality.

Soon as I walk in the restaurant I was amazed at the decoration it was so beautiful it reminds me of India I love it . The service was amazing the workers was so helpful. You should definitely come to Indico and try the Mango Lassi it’s was amazing and delicious also the food was delicious

Very friendly staff. Ordered the North Indian Thali with Lamb Rogan Josh as the meat dish that came with it. Great choice if you are unsure of what to order as you get a mixture of mini dishes to eat such as pappadum, veg pakora, makai palak, daal makhani, rice, naan and raita. Food was full of flavour and tastes great. All food is halal. Ordered the chaii for takeout however not a big fan as it was too 'cardamonny' for my taste.

A real gem hidden away in Shirley! A comprehensive menu presented in a newspaper format. We went for samosa chaat whuch would be a great stand alone snack but we also went for Punjabi Chole (chuck peas) which coupled with rotis made a filling and delicious lunch. Two cups of Chai completed our meal.

Took the family today. Samosa Chaat, Punjabi Chole, masala fries, Chai. Fantastic lunch with generous servings which meant even my two starving teenage girls couldn't finish it! We'll be back!

Yummy food. Clueless service. And a bathroom door that opens onto diners at their tables. There were more waiting staff than required, but some of them had no clue what they were doing. Brought the wrong food, delayed a meal which we asked to be brought quickly, and missed items from their bill. Very sloppy. Can't fault the chefs though. The food was amazing.

Despite eating on a very wet Wednesday night, the food was top notch. From excellent Lassi through to amazing Chicken Taka Tak I couldn’t fault the quality and taste. We all had a Thali with varying main curries. The constituent parts made for a sublime mix of flavours. I particularly liked the Chicken Taka Tak which was enjoyed with some beautifully light naan bread. The meal was finished off with a glass of Chai and a portion of Gulab Jamun. Who could ask for more? I look forward to a return visit soon. Well done! 😊
