Authentic south India food. We tried thali which was 10/10 so much variety and yet everything was so delicious.

The food is absolutely fantastic! Everything! Friendly staff and it is refreshing that it is not done up like the Taj Mahal. Just excellent !!

Lately, we have been to this restaurant. The ambience and service were too good. But the food couldn't meet our expectations. We ordered Hyderabadi chicken biriyani and it was average. Paratta was good but the curry we ordered along with it (Chicken chettinadu) was too disappointing!!

Was looking forward to eating here as from the outside it looked very smart. Sadly after my experience I was let down. Walked in and was seated quickly but thats the only thing that was quick all night. The popadoms were okay but again took a long time to come out. Lacked traditional options of most curry houses but found a lamb spinach which I presumed would be similar to a sagwala - Was very bland and led to an upset stomach the following day.

We were going on to the Billesley Rock Club so wanted somewhere to eat first. Not knowing the area, our friend booked a table. Finally found somewhere to park and on approach the outside of the restaurant looked a little tatty. The inside was a bit better but is rather basic. The food was'ok'. Myself and husband had chicken biryani. There was a very generous portion of rice and a tiny dish of runny 'sauce' & dish of yoghurt. It was quite spicy for a biryani. The chicken was nice but I didn't eat all the rice. Perhaps a little less rice and a little more 'sauce' ? I went upstairs to the toilet (no downstairs toilet so be aware if you're not good with stairs. The toilets were disgusting. Very tatty and dirty looking with overflowing bins (we went at 7 so not exactly end of the evening). The hand dryer didn't work so there was a roll of blue paper that was soaked as it was right by the sink. The price is reasonable but this place could really do with a makeover and a good clean inside and out. The lady who took our orders was lovely. Such a shame the tattyness and grubbiness lets this place down. The food is ok, not the worst I've had, maybe 6/10. We wouldn't return

Visited here for an unplanned dinner and the staff were very accommodating. Service was pleasant and friendly. Food was nice. Naans seemed a little dry and lukewarm. Staff seemed in a rush to send the mains in before we had finished the mains. Atmosphere would have been better with background music. Overall decent enough but room for improvement.

I went for Chicken Chettinaad but was totally disappointed..but I loved the tandoori chicken and my son loved the mango lassi..we also had masala dosa which was good.. Things that they need to improve.. 1. Chicken Chettinaad( either make it authentic or remove it from the menu..pls don't put tomato paste in Chettinaad/ find the original recipe at least.) 2. Service( Shortage of staff is an issue, but the guys who were there were trying their best) 3. They need to keep more drink options especially beer..only small bottles available that too pricey.. What they need not improve:- 1. Tandoori chicken(best in town) 2. Dosa 3. Hospitality

Wonderful , modern, authentic South Indian restaurant in the heart of Solihull. Gem of a find for us, friends and family from Tamilnadu, Karnataka and Punjab. Food we relished from our 2 year old to 75 year old , all hoping to be here again :) wonderful service on a Sunday evening, thanks for making our meal a special one. Dishes we fell in love with- mushroom pepper fry, chicken Kerala style curry, hyderabadi biryani and Kerala parotta:!! If you’re looking for a fantastic meal as a foodie, regardless of where you’re from, this is a must try.

Worst food I ever had in UK. I have ordered Mysore masala dosa which has no salt. Chutney was bit off. When I try to explain him about my experience. He was not ready to accept it. Worst experience I ever had.

I recently dined at Ruchie.I had the veg thali and chicken curry and Parotta .Both dishes were delicious and full of flavor. The overall quality of the food was excellent. The ambience of the restaurant was also very pleasant, making for a great dining experience. Highly recommended!

Loved the different varieties of dosas. The soup has a starter was definitely hot but very tasty. ALL dishes gluten free. The masla chai was also authentic. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Very clean and excellent service. For 3 people with tip £50. Looking forward to going back soon. Free parking at the spacious free Shirley Car Park at the back of the shopping area.

Great food, travel from Worcester to have their dosa never disappoint. Always travel for great food. Can’t fault it at all.

The meal arrived two hours late and was even more disappointing than the wait. The food lacked adequate seasoning and flavor, and the vegetables tasted as though they had been frozen. To top it off, the customer service representative's insincere invitation to return for another meal was met with apprehension.

Had a delivery was disappointed this time, no naan bread as they don’t light the oven lunch time ok but my biryani was too spicy with chilli, never had a biryani like this, not many prawns & lamb curry wasn’t so good as before, maybe a different chef but for £39 felt it was a lot for what we had, chips were just about warm, not one to complain but was disappointed

Had Potato Masala Dosa which I shared with my partner as starter, I then had King Prawn Balti which was really just a large plate of rice with very few.prawns which I didn't really like, although have been before & thoroughly enjoyed all my food. Unfortunately I was ill all night. The only thing I can think that upset me was the prawns. Won't be going back for a long time, if ever.

We had a wonderful meal here yesterday & will definitely be going back. We ate in & also got a delicious takeaway for our boys (cos they couldn’t join us at the restaurant).

For starters I had the bhajia's, which unfortunately were very oily and were difficult to eat. I didn't get to try a variety of dishes, but I had the masala dosa which was fine. The dosa size seemed larger than the typical.

Best indian food i had after a long time Curries were quite different from other indian restuarants i have visited in Birmingham. Everything is balanced not more nor less. I'd love to take my family for a dinner coming week. Highly recommended for their service and ambience to experience with.

I came with high expectations but totally disappointed. I ordered hariyali tangdi kabab and got oily fried chicken with some green paste on it. full of fish falvour. Even Chilly paneer starter was like paneer in tomato and capsicum tomato puree. Total unsatisfactory. Not recommended at all.

Great south Indian restaurant on the Shirley high St. (Stratford Road :) Went here with a friend for the first time and ordered the fish pakora starter and masala dosa. It's was very tasty. Staff were attentive and the service was good. I will go come back and sample other things on the menu next time.

I was pleasantly surprised by the food with the caveat that a few people in our party suffered from excessive wind/funny tummy that night to the point of being uncomfortable so if you have a sensitive stomach then bear this in mind! Personally I was fine but a little windy but that could be because I had the Masala Dosa with lamb cutlets as a starter and I thoroughly enjoyed both but the other had a non-veg main! They actually give plenty of the potato but not enough samba as I personally like a lot and I had to get some extra.

The food were delicious and tasted good. Filter coffee was the stand out.

Was looking forward to trying this having driven past it several times. Was disappointed when I got closer - could have been more well-maintained from outside (dirty windows, worn down exterior) and inside, it felt a little deserted. Service was not attentive however, chilli paneer starter was really tasty as was the dosa but uttapam was very bland. Toilets were not up to standard - poorly maintained and felt untidy/unclean. Was ok but not sure I would visit again.

My family had booked a party at Ruchie to celebrate a 50th birthday party-there were 15 of us. We opted for platters of mixed starters-which were very tasty. There is a varied menu to choose from and to be honest we were spoilt for choice. We enjoyed a variety of dishes including; a fish curry, aubergine curry, chicken biryani, butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, amongst others. All the serving staff were friendly and attentive and the main waiter was excellent-he remembered who had ordered what dish, which meant everything was served very quickly and was piping how. The side dishes such as rice and Nann breads were also fantastic. I have been to Ruchie before, but forgot how fantastic the food and service was. I highly recommend Ruchie for a night out, a take away or to celebrate a special occasion!

Best Indian takeaway we’ve had for a while. So many other places do insipid bland dishes that all look the same - this was fresh, well spiced and thoroughly enjoyable.

Superb Dosa’s and extremely good curries. The lamb curry on the bone was delightful and super tasty. A great place full of very well made South Indian dishes.

No match to the food quality when attending the restaurant. The sauces were very thin as if they were watered down with no flavour. This was first time takeaway from this restaurant, will not be ordering take away again, disappointed.

Disappointing. We hadn’t booked but it was 6:15 on a week night so didn’t think it would be an issue although we didn’t feel particularly welcome. I was shocked at the prices, £1.40 for a single popadom with small selection of dips. Portion sizes of the curry and rice were great but didn’t taste of anything special, I’ve had more flavoursome out of a jar in all honesty.

I have eaten at Ruchies many times since its opening the food has always been amazing & the service fantastic but the last few visits the food & the spice taste does not seem to be the same quality as when it first opened which is disappointing hence my average rating.

Food is great but has been a hit n a miss off late due to chef changes or shift rotas. Softest idlis ever! Service staff are a delight and really warm n welcoming. Can get a bit chaotic when busy.

We've visited Ruchie a few times and our meals are consistently good. This time we ordered chicken and lamb dishes and the flavours were excellent with good portion sizes. Highly recommended.

Much better food quality and service as compared to previous few occasions. We regularly order from Ruchie and we hope it stays as our no 1 priority for takeaway food.

The medhu vada was superb and I would definitely get this again. However the pepper chicken and palek paneer were average at best, and I've certainly had better flavoured dishes from other restaurants.

OMG I can’t believe this is local to me and I haven’t been before! Amazing vegetarian food and great service at a reasonable price. Would highly recommend.
