The Delhi Restaurant in Solihull

We called in at 6pm for dinner, Dara took us upto the restaurant, he was very engaging and we chatted for a while after our amazing food, the dishes where well prepared and full of flavour, we would definitely recommend this restaurant, next time we are in Solihull we will have a meal there again.

We had our first meal here tonight and we were blown away. The service was incredible from Dara and the team. The food was outstanding - the best Indian we’ve ever had

A very good time spent in this restaurant. Knowing little about Indian cuisine, we let ourselves be guided by Dara, who was charming and gave us excellent advice. We really enjoyed all the dishes, and we will happily return!

I absolutely love “The Delhi”! The Chicken Tikka Rice here is simply amazing – perfectly cooked, flavorful, and just the right portion. The staff and the manager are always welcoming, attentive, and provide excellent service every time I visit. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for delicious Indian cuisine with a warm and friendly atmosphere!

Amazing food at The Delhi! We ordered Lamb chops, chicken biryani, fried rice, mutton garlic masala, Punjabi chicken, and naans, all very tasty and beautifully cooked. The fact the food was both delicious and well-presented, combined with excellent service, shows it was a standout experience. PS The daal was to die for.

Most bad food I ever had. I ordered fried rice via Uber today. Just rice and onion were there in a small container. Not worth to your price. Please don’t cheat people. If you don’t know how to cook fried rice go and check other Indian restaurants. Shame to be a Indian restaurant. Most bad food ever had😡😡🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

After the meal, I experienced nausea, diarrhea, stomach pain, and eventually a fever. It’s definitely food poisoning. I will never order from this place again!

Incredible food! The fish and lamb melted in our mouths. Very reasonable portion size and fabulous service to top it off by Dava. It was our first time there and we absolutely will be going back, and bringing friends and family too! We’ve just left and I’m already craving the bangal fish dish!!! Lastly… loved the decor.

The Delhi is an excellent, intimate Indian restaurant above a takeaway downstairs. The decor is pleasant and it looks to have been refurbished recently. The menu is limited ensuring that you receive the real recipe rather than a variation on a common base. The staff are very friendly and Shahir, our waiter was very attentive. We go regularly and are never disappointed. It is also licensed for alcohol.

The best food I've tasted in a long time! Came here for hubby's birthday and can honestly say it was amazing from start to finish. The staff are really welcoming, the food was lovely and big portions and the price was reasonable. Will definitely be back again... and again! Will even consider travelling (we don't live near) just for a takeaway! Thank you the Deli :-)

The food is good in pleasant surroundings with nice background music. Slight negative would be the 10% service charge (which you can opt out of).

Just had a takeaway from here and it was amazing!! Ordered via their website as is better than deliveroo and I was so amazed by the variety of curries, starters and sides. I tried something new, Punjabi Murgh Masala, and it was delicious. My partner had the chx tikka masala and it had a lovely coconutty flavour. All food was very flavourful in a traditional way- definitely my new favourite curry house in the area!!

Amazing dinner tonight at The Delhi. This was our first visit to Solihull and we wanted somewhere to have a nice meal after a few drinks and this was perfect. Friendly waiters and in particular Dara, who recommended a couple of dishes for me and my friends to try. I had the king prawn mango curry (the photo doesn’t do it justice) and Dara arranged for it to be milder than advertised (as I’m a wimp!) and it’s the best curry I’ve had in a long time. Will definitely be back next time we happen to be in town.

Came here as we were staying at a nearby hotel and had read the great reviews. We were not disappointed as the staff were friendly and the food tasty but not too spicy. If we are ever in the area again we will definitely return.

Welcomed by friendly faces, arrived late on a Friday night but was greeted and welcomed in. Service with brilliant, Dara could not do enough for us. Food was absolutely delicious will definitely be coming back with family.

There are several great Indian cuisine restaurants in Solihull, but this still is my favourite go-to place. Great food, nice staff, low-key atmosphere - a great and relaxing place for a culinary experience!

We've been loyal to The Delhi for a few years now and generally had great curry from them, also catering for gluten-free allergies (our daughter is coeliac). It's a shame that lately the quality of the curry has had a downturn: it's been definitely less tasty and not great value for money, I wonder whether the ever-increasing cost of ingredients has had an impact (likely, it did for most businesses). We'll move to another curry house for a bit and will try The Delhi again at some point in the future.

Taste less, tried it would not return, Travel all over the UK so eat out often,this as to be one of the poorest quality I've had

Staff absolutely lovely, says they don't have an alcohol licence but they do! We took our own and they were very accommodating. Staff more than willing to help with recommendations!

Ordered take away and as before it was perfect, good quantity, reasonable material and well balanced spices. We ordered Chicken Achary, butter chicken, Lamb Lasan and Lamb Biryani. They are flexible too, I asked for Garlic fried rice which was not on the menu and they were happy to provide that. Keep doing the good job please.

This is an excellent restaurant for eating in (a cosy upstairs room with friendly and prompt service from waiters such as Shahir) or takeaway. Lovely food too 😋.

Ordered from uber eats couple of times and naan always comes uncooked from the bottom, I ordered samosa and for 3.99 you get 2 tiny frozen samosa which were not at all cooked properly also without any chutney. Disappointed

What a find this little place was. We were up here for a car plant tour and felt we just had to have a curry being in the West Midlands. From the outside The Delhi doesn't look much, certainly no sign of a restaurant, more like a take away? We went in anyway and were guided upstairs to a small but rather nicely laid out little restaurant. We were greeted by the (I think) owner. A very nice chap who made us welcome and got us seated. A couple of poppadoms arrived with pickles/sauces, closely followed by a pair of nicely chilled bottles of Cobra. Our orders were taken by our friendly waiter. Then our food came, I'll be honest and say we weren't expecting much, but oh boy was I wrong! The chicken balti that I had was the nuts, the chicken was so tender it almost didn't need chewing. It's the best balti I've had for a while for sure. The naans were soft and fluffy inside and that nice crispy not quite burnt outer that just completes your meal. The sides and the rice (we had one between us) were equally as good as the main. There was more than enough food, not huge portions but big enough. My mate and I left feeling comfortably full - which is good. If you're in this neck of the woods and fancy a good curry in a great atmosphere then The Delhi is the place to go! Best to book a table though. We were in on a Tuesday and it was very busy with just one table spare.

Found this restaurant by chance. My friend and I were looking for somewhere to have a pre-concert dinner before going to the NEC. We were met by Shahir who quite simply epitomises what customer care and attention excellence should be. Nothing was too much trouble....

Maz and his team did a superb job. Everybody remarked on how lovely the curry was. We had an array of dishes and starters, and every single one of them was cooked to perfection. My Fiancee adored the Mango Chicken and the Lamb Rogan Josh was spectacular. The guys were great at accomodating all our needs as we also had vegans and vegetarians to cater for along with guest with allergies, and the equipment provided kept everything warm throughout the evening. Maz's team even came and collected the equipment the same evening so there was no washing up to face in the morning hungover :-) Excellent. Thankyou again to Maz and everyone from The Delhi who was involved, you made my fiancée's birthday a really special occasion.

I have given 5 stars in the past but the pricing changes here are ridiculous. Set menu gon front 15 to 19 . And the only extra we had on the night was 2 popperdoms . So the pickles popperdoms water and service seny the bill to £50 for 2 people . Not much more than other places in Solihull but it's location and setting was always cheap and cheerful . Not cheap at all now if I'm spending £50 on a curry with no drinks there are better places . Shame as I was l loyal customer but I'm going else where now . Good luck but I fear you've gotten too greedy . Having seen the ownera response I should point out it's a 30% increase when you take into account service charge and in a recent article they claim they only charge corkage on tables of 4 or more . Thls is a lie we where a table of 2 and got charged corkage . If you want clarity about what you are doing look at your turnover its must be falling and your trip advisor ratings are also falling . Several reviews mirror what I have said. Remember I was a loyal customer for years ,but you are treating people as mugs ,as you don't know about all the extras until the bill comes. Never had a peoblem with the food just the deceit.

We happened upon here by chance after we finished shopping at Sainsbury's late in the evening and wanted a bite to eat. The food was excellent and the service was polite and on point.

Went to the Delhi Solihull staurant in Solihull. Live in Coventry, so was told Birmingham is much better Indian food. Great food served here. Seek kebabs for starters were amazing. Had a lamb bhuna and naan. Wife had a deal, starter seek kebab, tawa chicken and garlic coriander naan. Drinks slightly pricey, but the same everywhere. Issa the young waiter, was brilliant on customer service.
