Tandoori Parlour in Medway

Ordered from here last night, wish I hadn't bothered. The poppadoms were so stale they were just bending instead of snapping. The naan bread tasted disgusting. The chicken in the tikka masala and the jalfrezi felt squidgy and under cooked. Me and my wife both woke up this morning feeling rough. If I had Googled the hygiene rating beforehand and realised it was only a 3 out of 5 I wouldn't have put an order in. Won't be ordering from here again!

Best chicken tikka masala always hot and tasty and could eat this everyday! Friendly staff always polite no matter how big or small your order is they are always providing a professional service.

Portion sizes was good , food arrived luke warm. The garlic chicken curry was bland. We also ordered a garlic naan bread but arrived Plain.

Had the best Indian takeaway tonight that I’ve had in a few years. First time ordering from tandoori parlour & we were very happy. Took 30mins from order to being delivered. Food was great portions & very nice. Meat was tender & good quality. £5 off, we’ll defo be using this as our regular.

Hi, I’m very disappointed with my order tonight. You food is always very nice and well cooked. However tonight it was not enjoyable at all. The chicken in both dishes was squidgy as though under cooked and the Bruma had more heat and flavour than the madras!! I’d also like to add that I assume because I’m a good customer you provide a couple of fresh popadom and sauce. Tonight I received one soggy popadom with no condiment. I just wanted to advise you as i hope it was just a one off with a different chef. If you have a response I look forward to hearing from you Regards Shaun

We'd ordered a takeaway earlier in the evening when all of a sudden we had guests. When we went to eat, some 2 hours later after reheating we realised that there's been a small mistake and we had something missing. Phoned them and nothing was too much trouble and within 10 mins they were at the door. Fantastic food, even better customer service. Well done, it's so unusual nowadays. And food, well it's all gone..😁

Wonderful rice, wonderful tasty sauce, great breads but, the chicken is awful, for the sake of a few pennies you ruined the meal by using cheap, frozen chicken, that was un-edible. Please spend more money on descent chicken and I’d gladly come back.

We have been visiting and ordering from Rainham parlour for around 15yrs it's the best Indian food we have ever experienced our favourite starter chichen chat absolutely lovely and chicken Tikia spice and bhuna just outstanding dishes we have tried other restaurants but they don't match up to the parlour Staff very polite and helpful and if your a rookie curry water they will guide you to the perfect dish and I'm confident new customers will return Thank you parlour for outstanding food price and service

Another delicious takeaway on Sunday evening, only took 45 minutes to deliver and was the usual excellent standard of food, after nearly 10 years of takeaways and Dining in this restaurant, the food and service has always been first class. Thank You.

Don’t bother with this restaurant, ordered a curry 2 hours ago still not here, rang to cancel didn’t even get a refund now need to sort that out! What a joke

Order a big family takeaway, wasn’t disappointed. Everything ordered arrived in excellent condition and no mix ups. The quality of the curry, rice and roti was amazing. Somewhere I’d be returning.

Great Food, Great Service. A few of us do a Curry Club on the first Tuesday of every month. We go and rate the curry house on certain Criteria. This was our 2018 winner. We have been here a couple of times and this is still the best rated since we started in 2017 with 39/40 Rating. The popadom selection is immense with the Best Raita & Pickles with the Biggest potions. We love this place. They tick all boxes. Look forward to going back there soon. Went here for a Sunday lunchtime curry. It's nothing special but eat all you can for 8.50 can't be bad! Carpets could do with a clean though. Feel sticky under foot

Lovely food. Service was very good and fast. I liked the simplicity of the dining area with fresh flowers on all the tables. The atmosphere was relaxing, friendly. The quality of the food was good and the price very reasonable. This was my first visit there - but I know I will be going back as soon as I can. Very happy.

We ordered a home delivery. Wait over a hour for the food, think the driver got lost. When we phoned to asks about our order, the person put the phone down. When the food arrived it was cold, disgusting and could not be ate. Please do not go to this restaurant.

Completely given up on this place. My partner and I have been customers for a few years but recently have seen the quality of food to be extreamly poor. Certain dishes with onions in are not cooked through and crunchy and quality of meat terrible. Last night's takeaway for my son was in parts inedible. I have no idea how the chicken gets it's texture but it's nothing I can identify with any other chicken I've either eaten out or cooked myself before. It's hard to describe but it's rubberized and blown up. As I question the quality and tbh the safety of this chicken I will no longer be a customer again.

We stopped by here on our way home from Gillingham to Iwade one evening, and it was so good, we've been back a couple of times since. None of the Indians we've tried in our area are anywhere near as good as this place, and we'd much rather travel a bit further to get great food - well worth the journey!

Alwat some produce foid if a high quality. They do get busy so service can get a bit slow. Sunday buffet us good value

The food here and quality is superb. The banquet nights are very recommended and great value. Staff are all very polite and friendly. Special dishes are superb - recommend the chicken spice and lamb goa green curry. Tandoori chicken superb.

Me gusta el hecho de que sirven el desayuno buffet de 1:00 hasta las 8. 45:00 h. Hace un cambio agradable para conseguir tanto un buen servicio y buena comida.

Sin duda recomendaría el salón tandoori fuimos allí para una comida de cumpleaños para 13 personas. Nos sentamos habitación arriba preciosa. El servicio fue estupendo y la comida era la mejor que he tenido y he comido en muchos restaurantes indios volveremos pronto.

Some great food. Proper pieces of chicken not that crap stuff that some places use.The dishes were regularly checked and replenished and the dish s were tasty too, accommodating vegetarian as well as meat dishes. The lamb with spinach was delicious . The staff were friendly and attentive and didn't try and push you into purchasing crap desserts afterwards.The only thing missing were the little hot towels and mints afterwards. If it's a good bog standard Indian buffet you are after then this is a good choice.

This is our local curry house. Their food is fantastic and the service even better. Highly recommend it on banquet nights (Tuesdays and Thursdays) were you get an impressive 4 course meal for very good value

I just had to write this review we only went there last night, my husband and I with another couple I must say I was highly impressed when you first look at it from the outside it doesn't look like anything but when You walk in wow The setting and the way it was decorated was beautiful I was very surprised I must say the food was excellent ,quantity you couldn't fault it also the staff were amazing very attentive and very very friendly couldn't do enough for us and this was only a Tuesday night just to have a meal , we will definitely go back, also very reasonable it is the best Indian restaurant in Rainham .

Our first visit to Tandoori Parlour and it was bang on , warm and friendly staff , the food was faultless and on top of All that it was cheap as well ... My only criticism is that when I asked to take a doggy bag back home the waiter brought the containers out to our table and scooped it out there... Felt this was odd....... But still won't stop me visiting again.......

This I have to say is one of those places where you must not judge a book by its cover.First impression being honest was fairly small but cosy looking. The waiter was very welcoming and prompt just as I like, music was not loud but was not Indian and although I did not mind, I feel that Indian music would have given it a more authentic feel. I have rated this 5 star because I feel it fully deserves it. The food is the most important part of the night and it was simply delicious of which none of my family could fault. Excellent food and great service with a warm welcome I will definitely return and recommend this to any Indian food lover.

I live in Chatham however no restaurant near me is as tasty as at the Tandoori Parlour, the prices are good and and good sized portion too. That is probably the main reason for my regular visits for a takeaway. In the whole of Medway this is definitely the best Indian takeaway. Staff are friendly, quick service. I will remain a regular customer! :)

Very good food, happy staff, went with daughter son in law and two children, 8 & 10. no problems, were asked if we minded being upstairs we did not mind at all. It gave us a quite space which meant the children could be children, service good food good price excellant

We visited this restaurant on Friday 5th February. We were 7 adults and were first time visitors. The food was very good with a full choice of hot, spicy and tasty mild dishes. The service was very efficient and non-intrusive. We will be returning.

Ordered takeaway on Friday 22nd January, when dishing up my rice I found a Pill Bug in my rice! Immediately called them back to return my food and get full refund!

Walking home we passed the place and decided to go in and sample the buffet. Staff were helpful and friendly. We were led upstairs to a table and the place seemed clean. The buffet offered a range of food, but it all tasted the same!!!!Me giving the place only 2 stars may seem harsh, but the food really is substandard.The pricing wasn't bad, so I wouldn't say don't go there, but please remember- you get what you pay for!

After having several mediocre meals here a while ago, we decided to give it one more go. It was banquet night, which we do not normally go for as there is too much food for us to eat. We were quickly seated at a table that was set with crackers and also a selection of dips. The food was excellent. No complaints at all other than the fact there was too much of it. Staff were as friendly as usual and we noticed one new face. On leaving we were given a Christmas card. A nice touch.

Have had a couple of good meals here in the past and some takeaways too.. However the last couple have not been great but we decided to give it one more chance. Big mistake! Worst takeaway of them all. I don't know what they do to their chicken! Pressure treat it to inject water perhaps? The texture was soft and tender yes but not at all like a piece of chicken you would buy and cook at home! My Chicken Tikka Bhuna was tasteless, my wife's Chicken Tikka Balti was actually quite tasty, after we scooped copious amounts of oil out of the dish first, it was swimming in oil !But the worst was our daughter's Chicken Tikka Massala, that was awful, I had one bite of the chicken and it tasted really foul.. Pardon the pun.. We were not ill but it tasted off and the flavour has last all night and morning, not nice...Oh yes and the Tarka Dhal is the worst ever, it's just all water and a few lentals..

Ok best time to visit is sunday buffet day as its like 6 quid each ti eat as much as you want.there is not loads of dishes but enough to keep you going.i will return for my belly full

Came here with the Medway curry club the other night. The food was of a very high standard, the waiters were great but best of all was the price. 5 courses for £11.95 is just amazing!!!

Go to this restaurant on a Banquet night and you will get an amazing five dish meal for under £11. How they can do such great food for such a small price I do not know, but this is my favourite Indian restaurant in Kent

Visited first time on 1st August as we couldn't get into our usual indian restaurant. Very pleased we found this. The food is excellent, the service fast and friendly and prices reasonable. Will be returning.

For taste, value for money and quality of food, quite simply the best Indian restaurant in Rainham. Eat in or takeaway, the quality is great. If you order a takeaway, they won't tell you 10 minutes, they'll tell you 30-40 minutes, but it always arrives hot and freshly cooked. Well worth waiting for!!

This place is shocking, as soon as we walked in we noticed a Hoover hanging over one of the chairs, massive put off from the moment we walked in, the rude man working there then lead us upstairs and rudely pointed to our table and then walked off. Plonked dirty plates on the table and tried scrubbing the old food off right In front of us. Ew! Went up to look at the food, old cheap metal food containers, of such small variety. Labeled with cheap written labels taped with sellotape. Small bowls of warm salad too. Embarrassing. Me and my parter were so shocked we finished our drinks, payed and left. The food they were serving and the way they were serving it was shocking, we couldn't believe our eyes. Quite surprised this 'restaraunt' hasn't yet been shut down.Disgraceful!

Passed this restaurant many times but finally got to try it. Pleased we did. While the outside is nothing special, the friendly staff, good service and value for money food was great.As non-meat eaters it's always nice when non-meat choices are built into the menu rather than the feeling of "freaks food" being listed separately at the end of the menu.Would return.

I've passed this establishment many times without a backwards glance as the outside is nothing to write home about....however inside it's most pleasant.Visited with a friend on a Tuesday which is one of their 'Banquet nights'. Five courses for £11.95. What excellent value!Food was plentiful, varied, plenty of choice and reasonably fresh. Service quick and polite and the place was packed, clearly word had spread about the value!I will definitely return, but I won't eat all day as I was stuffed!!

I have eaten at this restaurant several times in the past, either as part of a couple or a small group. Last night, I took a party of 29 (booked about 2 months in advance) to eat in the upstairs section. We had exclusive use of the area, which was great as we had an after-dinner speaker. However, after someone had taken initial drinks orders, we were left with ONE person serving us the food. This meant that there was a 45 minute gap between the first table receiving their main course and the last table receiving theirs! Someone from my table went downstairs to get us more drinks because we were unable to order them from our table (given the lack of waiting staff) and she noted that there were 3 members of staff downstairs apparently standing around doing nothing!!The food was hot and tasty as always and really good value but I will NOT be returning with a large group.

What can I say about this little restaurant in rainham kent . Well a lot , fantastic food , superb service and great value . I love this place , and will continue to go there as long as I can . The vindaloo is awesome , as is the chilli rice and the starters are huge and great value for money . You will never leave tandoori parlour hungry or out of pocket , superb .

We like many on this site have eaten here for many years and recommend it to our family and friends.We have always had good food and good service and quite frankly find some of the comments on this site somewhat confusing as regards the negativity of some peoples comments.We have tried other indian restaurants in Rainham and have found this to be the best on both quality and price.

We have eaten at this restaurant many times over a number of years. We keep trying other restaurants but always return to this one. Why? Well the staff are always welcoming and the food, while not presented as well as other restaurants, is always hot, plentiful and very tasty. Sadly, despite our last great review, we now have cause to complain.Since the government introduced non-smoking regulations in bars and restaurants, my wife and I have enjoyed going out much more.As non smokers, the smell of smoke whilst I am eating actually makes me feel sick.The Tandoori Parlour, hosts a group of between 4 to 6 men on a Thursday night every week upstairs. Sadly several of this group smoke, which normally is not a problem, however on several occasions, these people, rather than go out to the front of restaurant, have taken it upon themselves to open the fire exit on the first floor, and smoke outside, with the door propped open.With air gusting in, smoke end's up being blown into the restaurant, and despite our complaints to the owner and his staff twice, our comments have been ignored.The smell of smoke became so bad a few weeks ago, that we put down our knives and forks and had to leave.This is a warning to those wishing to visit this restaurant on a Thursday night. If the smell of smoke whilst you are eating puts you off, then try and pick another night to visit.We won't being using this place again, as we feel that the management would rather take money off a group of big spenders, rather than listen to a couple of its longest and regular customers.

I was born in Rainham and have eaten in every Indian last and present, This had consistently been the best one ive found in the area, that said the food isn't the best indian I've ever eaten and I consider myself well versed in Indian/ Bangladeshi cuisine but it is good indeed. Ive eaten in and had takeaways and the quality and price is great. The restaurant suffers slightly from its location being out of the main high street which is good for avoiding the up kick out trade, this also means that they need to keep the quality and taste high to maintain regular custom. The downstairs is very cramped and you feel like your eating on top of the bar. Others in the area love Meridian spice but to be honest i wouldn't visit there ever again unless you like feeling like a sardine and want below average food. Keep up the good work Tandoori Parlour the balance of flavours is great.

This is our regular Indian restaurant, we have eaten in the restaurant and also had takeaways on several occasions and have never been disappointed. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and the food is always freshly prepared and very tasty. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a nice tasting, excellent value, Indian meal.

This is a lovely Indian restaurant with great tasting food. The staff are friendly and the offers are brilliant value. On banquet nights (Tues and Thurs) you pay £10.95 and you can choose a starter, main course, rice, nan and side dish. The food is delicious and I would say this is one of the best Indian restaurants in Rainham.

Decided to give the Tandori Parlour a go after 5 years of eating elsewhere, what a surprise, the food was very tasty, I had Tandori King Prawns which were excellent, Nans and other dishes were equally as good.I would rate it as the best Indain in Rainham, prices are good value, meal for 3 with drinks was only £40 bargain and good tasting food.I will return again very soon.

We current use this restaurant on a weekly basis and have done so for at least 6 to 7 years, we also order takeaways, and have taken many friends and family there for meals over the years.Tandoori Parlour has a great upstairs area, which is ideal if you want to take a party of people for a meal or celebration party. With my hand on my heart, I can honestly say that I have never had reason to complain. Our food has always been good, and has been served to us fast and hot, the beer has been cold and the service has been spot on. The staff have always treated us with respect and have never been rude. I am amazed with the rubbish written about this place, as it offers everything a Bangladeshi restaurant should. Great Prices - Good Food - Good Service, What else would you want ?

An ordinary Indian (Bangladeshi) restaurant that offers a range of dishes. Work your way through the menu and you will find something brilliant. The staff are more than pleasant, if you bother to treat them like people, and the prices are good. I have been eating there since it opened, almost every week, both takeaway and sit-down, and found it at worst ok and at best brilliant. I have tried my test dishes (prawn puree and lamb pathia) in many prestigious restaurants and found none better on these dishes, The Jingha garlic is a work of genius and I am personally a great fan of Tarka Dall - ask for thick, Chana Aloo, Naan and Chapati, both excellent; my daughter loves Murgh e Morch and my son loves any Dhansak. This is a restaurant that is very unassuming and needs serious exploration if you want to find what it does really well.

Like most curry houses, this place opened with good intentions, great quality food, excellent service etc. Then a few months later, the prices go up, the portions get smaller and the staff lose interest.This is essentially, a curry house forced into a mid-terraced house in an area where many other curry houses exist and frankly, most do it better.Shame really, as it was pretty good in the early days.

Been for the Sunday buffet a few times and you don't think you can really go wrong for £5.95 a head Bargain! Food and service is really good for a buffet. Also had takeaway from here before and really enjoyed that too.

We booked for a birthday meal here as Vari in Newington is closed for a refurb and we had heard quite good things. The food was okay at times and not good at others. In particular the leg of lamb was chewy and of poor quality. The service was bizarre at times and rude at others, I think in particular when I tried to pass my husband's naan beard to him and the waiter took it out of my hand and said "no, there's only room for it next to you!" (My husband was a couple of places down from me). Very odd.The food was really quite cheap but then it was of poor quality. Definitely looking forward to Vari in Newington reopening as it is of a much higher standard and fairly similar pricing.

The dj and music was absolutely amazing! The food needed slight improvement but the solid party atmosphere made up for it!!! Loved the dj!

Tandoori Parlour is good for a cheap, meal out. The food quality is excellent. It is not the nicest dining experience in Medway with regards to the restaurant decoration. However, the food is of a decent price, the service is excellent and most importantly the food is delicious!A few times a week, they offer a buffet, which always seems popular. Plus when getting an Indian takeaway, we always get it from here!Worth a visit!

After using this place for last few years, simply have to leave a review, having just enjoyed another great meal. They do bargain sunday buffets and mid week banquet nights and we've never had a bad curry. The staff are always pleasant and the food we find to be as good as any we've tried (which includes the majority of indian restaurants around the Medway Towns). Its a converted terrace house on the outskirts of Rainham on the A2, so it's never going to be glamorous in terms of surroundings, but if you want a good local curry, we don't think you can beat this place for value, service and quality.
