Wanted to try somewhere new but Chicken was dry and like eating cardboard, chips where cold and when I said something I was made to feel as if I was in the wrong. Will only going to fusion Spice as it's much better food and service

Wow! All I can say is this curry house has come leaps and bounds since I was a younger lad! The food was absolutely blistering, full of flavour and just mouth watering! Had me thinking about my meal for days after just wishing I could have it again asap! Look forward to my next visit cannot wait to get my hands on this grub yet again!

Ordered on Ubereats - received all of the food ordered apart from one curry. Rang the restaurant and they said they would make another and deliver. 5 minutes later the restaurant called me back and told me they’d spoken to their colleagues who said they definitely packed it (giving the impression I was trying to do them out of 1 curry). When I said don’t worry about it I’ll order from somewhere else they promptly hung up on me. My boyfriend then called back and as soon as they realised it was a man on the end of the phone they soon said they would sort it out. I’m appalled at the service and calling me back implying I was lying about not receiving my food. Really upset as never had an issue with Meridian Spice before. Definitely have lost any future business from me and family.

The Meriden Spice is one of the finest Indian restaurants in Rainham. The food is quite good though a bit expensive. The staff are friendly and the service is quick even during busy times.

Recently visited for evening meal- once at the weekend and once on a weekday. Both occasions there was no booking required and was not a problem even when it was busy at the weekend. Great curries, not oily. Clean white tablecloths and decor much more pleasing than the Indian restaurant opposite. Staff are friendly and try their best to assist. This is my favourite Indian restaurant in Rainham.

Saturday night we had not booked anything 2 Indian restaurants opposite each other been in the other one so a big mistake went into this one the waiter was as if he didn't want to be there didn't look at anyone while talking our order he got the beers wrong then the poperdoms arrived tasted like burt oil sent them back three new ones tasted right lamb tikka starter was tough as old boots all main meals ok one of us asked for a doggy bag as he likes cold curry the waiter goes ok and walks off comes back with foil tin and lid and literally chucked it on the table and walked off all 4 of us just l laughed at how rude he was asked the young waiter the same thing he took the plate away came back in the tin foil but no bag I've been having Indian for 48 years I worked it out and have never had that before. I think it was the owner sitting on the sofa my advice would be get off the sofa and see what your staff are doing

My wife has tried this place before and I wanted to give it a go. Happened to be my birthday on the evening that I picked to try. Food delivery came promptly. Tried lamb lazeez and prawn madras. Both delicious. Very touching gift they gave as it was my birthday. Thank you. Compliments to the chef. Will recommend for sure and try more of their food whether it is another takeaway or dining in.

Very nice meal for my Dad's birthday. Food was lovely and didn't take too long to arrive once ordered. We did sit at the table for a while before a drinks order was taken. Busy and lively atmosphere although it was a bit spoilt by a drunk party two tables away who were being very loud and not very nice to the staff, just yelling when they wanted something. I would go back again but maybe not on a Saturday night.

I’ve always walked past this place, the aroma oozing out of here eventually led me to actually booking a table with my Mrs to have dinner here especially because we didn’t feel like cooking. It’s indeed a warm welcoming place to visit. The food is a win win 💯

Visited this local restaurant with hubby mid week. Quiet with excellent service....thank yiu to johnnie and his team. Food was tasty, was full didn't have space for dessert Will head back again ...loving the puri

Don't allow Guide Dogs. Think they need to be educated on the law!

Don't accept guide dogs even though its a legal obligation makes you wonder what other legal obligations they don't adhere too

We visited here mid week and it was quiet in the restaurant. Service was good and I have to say the food was excellent. First time I had visited the place for over a year and I think it has new owners but what an improvement, we'll worth a visit if you like your curry.

After having a terrible experience over the road we came in here and were amazing at the level of service, they sat us quickly at a pre layed out table giving us the menu and time to look at it, the food was all lovely and we struggled to finish it all but gladly took the leftover home 5/5 will be going again

The food itself is spectacular, but what really makes this place so special is the staff and the location. Off the beaten path just above a little pub. They were absolutely rammed, but still found a spot for three of us last minute. The tikka paneer is incredible and the South Indian chili dish (a chefs special) was superb. I could eat it for the rest of my life and be happy. Great experience.

As a family we usually opt for Meridian Spice if we’re going to eat out, we won’t be going forward though, as when I tried to book a table earlier this week for nine young adults, at 5.30 on a Thursday evening, I was met with complete rudeness! I was asked to leave a deposited but said that I’d prefer not to because my son would be too embarrassed to ask everyone for the money back, instead I offered to leave my card details to secure the table if that would help but the guy refused this and instead told me that without a deposit they wouldn’t hold the table and if they were to just turn up without a booking they wouldn’t be given a table - even though every time we’ve been there around that time the restaurant been totally empty?! So I instead called the Tarana (just over the road) and my goodness what a totally different experience!! No deposit, no card required, they welcomed the boys making them feel very welcome and I even had a text message after the group left to tell me what a lovely bunch they were!! Meridian - you have just lost your next generation of paying diners! Tarana - Well done, you have definitely won our business!!

Reserved on the phone earlier in the day for a 7pm sitting. welcomed at the door and shown to our seats quickly. drinks order taken quickly and asked about popadoms. If you dont eat all the sides for poppodoms - specify which ones you want as you're charged for the full platter + the amount of poppadoms. Drinks came in a reasonable time and are glass bottles for soft drinks (Schwepps 200ml and coke 330ml) food was hot and tasty and naans were nice too. several different servers through the course od the meal and had to make repeated requests for glass and ice. overall was a nice evening out and would go again.

I know things have gone up in price but £52.00 for 4 popadoms 2 mains and 2 drinks is far too much.we are not in london .shame as i liked the place but wont be back.

This was our second time going here and I couldn't of asked for better food, helpful staff and lovely owner, they have a side entrance where wheelchair users can access and brilliant service.

We have been here before & were very happy but our experience today was not to the standards we had expected. Our Order came out wrong so had to be sent back, the chicken was dry and tasteless. No one came over to check everything was ok ! When we asked for the bill no one asked us about our meal such a very disappointing service. Will not be recommending this restaurant.

WE had a reservation at another Indian just across the road but once again they over book and didn't actually reserve a table for us! So crossed over to the Meridian Spice, it was very busy but within a few minutes they had arrange a table for us and the meal was good.

Start on a positive they say! Food was actually nice! This place had never been on my radar, was always the “empty” place you pass when looking for a curry. Having tried most of them in the area we asked for a table, we was plonked together on a mishmash of 1 round table and 1 square table like something out of a teddy bears picnic. If it wasn’t for the fact we had 6 people on our table talking I would feel like I was sitting in a doctors waiting room, there is little to no atmosphere in this place. Apparently the sound system is broken, but it seemed to work up the back where it was busier (maybe that’s why it always looked empty from the road) The staff are more reluctant to engage with you than a teenager being spoken to about the birds and the bees, To the point that one of them nearly got some verbal for being so rude and arrogant but I held my tongue! The food came out missing a few bits and maybe it’s a language barrier with some of the staff but even when pointed out and they agree but it still didn’t turn up. The taste was really good, I was really impressed with it. Flavour, heat and texture was all there. If the staff could get their act together and the management could sort some music, then this could be Medways gem. Unfortunately as always, the staff make a big impression on how my experience plays out. As said before the food could be a 10 but if service is a 3 then the whole thing is a 5. I would like to say this is probably a 1 off but I’ve experienced it twice and have friends who also feel the same way!

What a shame! Service was slow, asked for water 5 times! Food was ok , but we arrived at 8.40 and with slow service once we asked for another drink at 10.30 we were told they didn’t serve drinks after 10.30??? What Indian restaurant doesn’t serve drinks after 10.30???? Seriously give it a miss! Poor service, forgettable food and abrupt staff!!

We had a very good takeaway on New Year's Eve. The starter had a selection of well cooked, nicely spiced meat. The Lamb Dupiaza was perfectly spiced, and the lamb tender and lean. Mushroom rice and peshawar naan bread were a great accompaniment. And the meal was delivered earlier than expected.

The overwhelming smell of the toilet fresheners greets you as you enter! Almost turned around and left! After a while as more people got their food it reduced but a trip to the loo showed whet was going on. 5. Clip on toilet fresheners in one toilet was so overpowering it made me feel sick! The food however was excellent! The service was great and it was reasonably priced! Ditch the toilet fresheners!

Service was great. Very well priced, drinkable house white which was a South African Sauvignon. Cold Cobra on draught. We opted for the house specialities of Green Chilli Chicken and Lamb Lazeez. Portions were generous and the curries were delicious. Would revisit. Definitely recommend.

I had the Himalaya Chicken with the shot of Sambuca, but swapped out the chicken for lamb... Oh my days. The lamb was very well cooked and the sauce was tremendous. Everything else was pleasant enough, but the curry was excellent. Above expectations

Visited this restaurant only once, and thoroughly disappointed, every dish came out with a covering of thick grease which was of putting we left without eating in the end. Very unappetising and no-one was in the restaurant, so not much atmosphere.

Meridian Spice Rainham. Went for a meal Friday 25.2.2022 very disappointed, Lukewarm food served up complained they took my wife's meal and warm it up when he returned I said mine wasn't hot when returned not only was it hot he spiced it up to a vindaloo, incorrect side, dish naan bread not up to much either won't be going there again till they improve.

We visited this restaurant on a Saturday evening and there were lots of staff working. We were shown to our table right away and given menus, we asked for drinks and none arrived so after a while we asked again for the 5 cobras (we were a party of 5) and just 1 arrived. We made the waiter aware and again no more arrived. In the mean time a waiter came to take our order and as we went to order he just walked off. To be fair he may have got confused as there was a spare seat at the table and may have thought we were waiting for someone else (benefit of doubt). We then addressed the beer issue again and finally someone delivered them, 15 minutes after the first one arrived. We managed to order food finally and 4 meals arrived but one of our party had to wait 10 more minutes for his. The food was nice. We then ordered 5 more drinks (5 cobras) and 2 arrived at the table, we waited and no more arrived, we had to bring this to their attention twice more before they arrived after a 20 minute wait. Not sure what’s happened to this place, it’s always been our go to place in the past but after this visit I’m not so sure now. If there are under new management I hope they get back on track soon with the service.

There was nothing wrong with the food but I felt it was expensive for what we had The service was average although one of the waiters was polite and attentive.

Always always late on delivery. When you call they fob you off and claim ‘ it’s on its way’. It isn’t. Highly frustrating . Not worth it

Pros-Very tasty food,not too oily like I find in some indians!! Very fresh ingredients and good portion sizes. My lamb was particularly well cooked being very tender and lean. Staff were helpful and fast service- although we did go in a quiet time period. Cons-On the slightly pricier side , especially for the poppadoms. No parking supplied but you can park local in a parking lot for a charge. Overall would reccommend and would visit again when in the area.

Had a takeaway last week. Was way over the hour. And prices shot right up. £42 for two people is a lot for a takeaeay and not even a free poppadom Mild starter was hot, and like mush, not nice at all.

So rude. Mannerisms are disgusting when trying to place an order. Hung up on twice as they wasn't even paying attention.. Won't be trying to place an order again

Went to Meridian Spice for a friend's baby shower the other week. Let's just say we'd had a few crafty ales in Faversham, and thought we'd pop in for a 0y curry. The service was amusingly chaotic, and that's why we bloody love it! The food is always very good at Meridian Spice don't get me wrong, but we did not look like the kinda guys to order plain Naan, and we were given two portions! We spent hundreds we did, and we even nearly got offloaded with a cheap bottle of plonk because they'd ran out of the £50 good stuff. They weren't even going to tell us! Will return asap.

Had a takeaway last night. The food was delivered within the time stated. Every dish from the starters through to the main course and side dishes was hot, freshly prepared and very tasty.

A great menu, with plenty of choice, and everything cooked to perfection. I'd thoroughly recommend this indian restaurant.

The service was poor and the food lacklustre. We waited over an hour for our starters and when the mains were delivered we were sent some of the wrong food. When we asked for additional cutlery the server leaned over us and across our food which didn’t feel very covid secure. We were planning on moving on following the meal and when we asked for the bill prior to our table being cleared we were ignored by the server. It’s clear that the servers don’t care about the customers and the kitchen can’t handle food orders in a timely manner despite the restaurant being quiet when we arrived.

Phoned to order a takeaway,friendly staff advised it would be about an hour. It was delivered in less than 30 minutes which was fantastic. I ordered a lamb biriyani it was delicious😋 also ordered onion bhaji which was equally delicious. I would definitely recommend this place. I then ordered a collection this time ordering lamb balti and garlic naan. Was again extremely enjoyable. Well done team the staff inside were very friendly.

Disgraceful. Im a regular customer. They mess up on our last order charged my card £36 3 times in error and delivered a mild curry madras hot. Promised to put things right on our next order. Only to offer 2 popadoms. I do not to write negative reviews. Trying to support local business.

We had a takeaway. The prawn dhansak was pale, watery, cold and lacking in prawns. It was a small portion also, worst Indian takeaway I’ve ever had.

waited nearly 30mins to be served for our drinks request while watching customers that arrived only 5mins ago being asked there starter requirements.could see we was never going to get any decent service all night so walked out. mind you the waiter found it amusing.atleast it cheered him up.

Absolutley disgusting food bland and tasteless. Took over 2 hours to bring us starters. Main course and sides were cold and greasy. When I complained my shell fish bhuna was microwaved!!! Calamari and prawn (note single) was like rubber. Couldn't eat it. I recommend everyone gives it a very wide birth.

This was a surprise to see an added bonus of the staff from the Hempstead restaurant, now that the latter is closed. Not only the friendly and efficient waitersbut also the chefs according to the ever friendly owner.The menu has been updated and, as expected , was first class.

Personally I found the experience delightful, all waiters and the manager was wearing masks, tables spaces out from each other to avoid COVID-19 the food came out nice and quickly and very tasty.Design of the restaurant is funky with mood lighting and from what I remember there was ambient cultural music in the backgroundAll round, I am definitely going back!

We went to support a local business and had a terrible time. There were not any covid meassurs in place at all like social distanci6, track and trace, 2 way system.The manager was damn right rude and only interested in making a quick money. We were overcharged too. The meal was below average

Normally eat at this restaurant every week had a takeaway last night was terrible chicken tikka masala was so sweet and dull was awful sent wrong side dis and wrong naan bread rice was lumpy . Was late last night so rung the restaurant today to make a complaint I did not want any money back just to let them know ,the owner was so rude told me “oh well find another restaurant “ tried to hang up twice and finally cut me off . Will never give them my money again should be ashamed

Delicious food at a reasonable price with friendly staff and I had a good time.

The refurb looks lovely and the main course was nice, but the onion bhajis were hard and so were the potatoes in the Bombay potato. Service was non existent, we had to wait about 45 mins before we got a drink and when we asked for coffees, we were just told we can’t have coffee, no explanation or an offer of another drink. Wouldn’t rush back.

Was over charged on some parts of the bill. 3 poppadoms £5.95! Website states .75p each. Over priced, almost seems as though they have wacked up their prices to allow for the government scheme?? The prices on their website does not match. I did not complain simply because I could not be bothered. I would rather leave a review and tell people to be careful. Drinks are well over priced £2.95 for a small 330ml bottle and £4.95 for a cobra. Curry tasted as though a spoonful of sugar was added. Very hit and miss, been before and had no problems. Book opposite restaurant you won’t be disappointed

Ate here last night at 6:30. We had a great meal and great service. Only negative was three women next to us that moaned all evening and went out of their way to find fault and complain to try and get as much off the bill as they could. Tables nicely distanced and great value. Staff were friendly and professional. Will definitely return!

No social distancing in place, tables closer than 1 metre, main course bought out before we finished our papadoums, plates cleared before we finished eating, bill given to us before we finished our drinks, no desserts, only allowed to stay 1 hour, overcharged on the bill, manager extremely rude and said he didn't have time to listen to our complaints

Can’t fault the food - it was delicious. My issue lies with how they are adhering to the covid guidelines.Although they were wearing face masks, there was nothing else in place. No hand sanitizer on entry, no one way entry/exit. All cutlery already laid out, food on trolley when they bring it out as people walk right past it. Wiping plates with cloths when they hand it to you, tables probably 1m away no more and it felt very cosy and closed in. Very different to other restaurants I’ve visited in the last month.If you don’t mind any of that in today’s climate, go for it. You’ll have a great time as all the food was delicious. If you do mind, just beware.

Booked a table with a weeks notice but upon arrival was told there was no record of our booking. When I showed the waiter my call log to confirm the conversation I’d had, I was told it wasn’t possible because if I had called they would have written down the booking. They basically said I was lying. They didn’t offer an alternative time or date. Nor did they suggest a takeaway. Another diner overheard and recommended we visit spice fusion as they were better. We’d already been warned to check the bill as they had a history of overcharging so perhaps we had a lucky escape.

Visited Meridian Spice last night and our group of 7 very much enjoyed the evening. The food was good the staff were lovely. The restaurant is beautifully refurbished and a pleasure to be in a nice relaxing place. Thank you.

Wont be returning to this mad house, got there at 7 as booked and wasn't seated until quarter past then waited 20 mins before even ordering drinks, had ordered popadoms which were forgotton and was told rudely to stop being shy and ask if an item is forgotton but staff walk straight past ignoring you half the time and everytime ordering more drinks we had to constantly keep asking for them.. food was average at best and to top things off it was hard to even get the bill.. was told 5 times 2 minutes bill is coming and even after all this we still tipped a 5er but wish we didnt as there wasnt even a thank you.. There was 3 of us not like the orders were massive, tables need reducing as they are clearly over their heads here
