Tandoori Nights in Poole

Chanced upon this place on the way back to our hotel following an event at The Lighthouse. It was quite late so we didn't expect to find a 'sit down' open anywhere but were accommodated at Tandoori Nights and treated to a really good meal. I'm no connoisseur of Indian/Bangladeshi food but know it can be bland and oily or just nuclear hot. We had the Garlic Chicken and Naga Meat curries and both were spicy, hot yet full of flavour. It doesn't look much from the outside but gave us a very welcome end to a pleasant evening.

Came to this curry place staff rude no help at all food was awful you could tell nothing was fresh we hardly ate anything they didn’t care just charged us full and walked off not good at all

Very disappointing. Prawn puri completely tasteless with the prawns like bullets. Mint sauce tasted off. Gave 2 stars as the staff were pleasant & the onion bhaji was ok!

Very bad experience, poor quality food. Chicken in the curry was reformed chunks not chicken breast! Very watery and bland. We will not be going again

absolutely perfect. having recently moved to the area id been struggling to find an Indian to replace the one we'd left behind and tonight we found them. delicious food, perfect heat, good prices and quick delivery. thank you

Excellent service and great quality.

We went early evening and the restaurant wasn't busy so the staff were really attentive and very helpful explaining a dish that we weren't sure about. The food was of excellent quality and taste and we would highly recommend this restaurant.

Not been there for a few years. Thought we give it ago. Not had decent Indian food in a while. Food was good. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Definitely would go back again.

Chicken very tender but not very much & the vegetables balti not very good but I’ll try them again and hopefully it will be a little better. Thanks Colin

We went here for my daughter's first Indian meal and my husband s birthday. I have to say that the staff were all friendly and helpful and the food was fantastic. My daughter was very impressed. Thank you Tandoori Nights.

This is a lovely restaurant, the food is second to none, the staff are so friendly and polite, they always make me feel so welcome. A very enjoyable meal, I will be returning very soon.

The service was great and the food arrived hot and was great quality and value. Would definitely recommend and will definitely order again.

Absolutely shocking spent £45 on a take away tonight 3 different currys that all tasted the same and had hardly any sauce was all oil on top. Each curry had 6 pieces of chicken in. Rice was all stuck together and dry. Poppadoms was stale the best thing out the lot was the nan bread and even that was small. Will definitely NOT be returning. And my advice to people would be don't waste ur money 🙄

Take away tonight —very poor bland -could not taste which curry it was supposed to be . Won’t be ordering again. We have eaten in restaurant in the past and had some lovely curries . Shame take -away service isn’t same standard

I went here for a meal with some friends, and we were extremely satisfied, great service, friendly staff and fantastic food, we will be going back again very soon.

Service is pathetic despite restaurant being literally empty apart from us. Waiter kept suggesting other dishes, not ready to take orders of what I wanted.atleast chips were good. Generally food is not too bad but service needs definitely improved.

This excellent restaurant is situated on High Street which is in the centre of Poole, it serves really top notch Indian food. I've just eaten there where I ate tandoori chicken with potato and cauliflower curry (Aloo Gobi) both of which were outstanding. After the meal I had a friendly chat with a staff member called Russell where I expressed my thoughts regarding the restaurant itself, the food, and the service. Based upon my experience, I can highly recommend this establishment and Incidentally they also provide takeaway and delivery services.

I've just visited this excellent establishment and was pleasantly surprised by the excellent food and service. I had a couple of papadoms together with the pickle tray in which the lime pickle was outstanding, as it was really sour and spicy, just as I like it. The moist tandoori chicken was delicious, as was the spicy lamb madras and the chapati. Service was really good, but I thought they were just a little too quick in clearing away the dishes from my table. Which made me feel a little bit rushed. The restaurant itself is very pleasant as it's large and spacious. Would I recommend having an Indian meal at Tandoori Nights? Absolutely, yes.

Cold rice, popadom in pieces and soaking wet though leaking bag.

Visited early evening and were really well looked after. We all really enjoyed our food and if we're back in Poole again we know where to come.

Have always enjoyed this place but sadly this evening the order was luke warm at best and also missing items. Real shame as we’ve always enjoyed the food here both in restaurant and takeaway.

Ordered a takeaway and it was delivered to our caravan, Poppadoms not a good taste. Onion salad boring and not much finesse ot thought gone into it…just loads of shredded onion Pilau rice average Madras chicken…runny sauce all in all not impressed with quality of food

I am very critical when it comes to Indian food. I’ve travelled all over the south west as far as Cornwall and Wiltshire. Tandoori Nights in Poole is one of the best I’ve tasted. I asked for chicken pakoras which were not on the menu, and they made them special. Me and my friends were treated very well and the food was a really good standard. Would certainly eat here again when I’m in Poole!

I had an average experience.The most significant issue was the poor service.The hotel staff seemed to be in a hurry to take our order, barely giving us time to look at the menu.This rush continued throughout the meal, making us feel quite uncomfortable. As soon as we finished eating the plates were whisked away in a hurry!! The food have been decent, the overall dining experience was marred by the bad service.

we had the weekend meal deal which was really good value for money. the curry was quite liquidy compared to what we would have liked but it tasted great. the bombay potatoes were delicious. we didn't get any onion mix with our poppadoms and it did take nearly 2 hours to arrive, but this was a Saturday night and we sent an update text and received an update quite quickly. would recommend

We walked in and it's a big restaurant so they were able to find a table with ease. Service was really good and food was lovely. Enjoyed the meal and would recommend. Very good value and good selection of food.

Superb. We was on holiday at a local park and the road was closed due to a serious accident but the delivery driver knew a alternative route and delivered early and piping hot excellent service !!

Food quantity is less. Taste is okk… not that great. The hotel staff was not very polite & were in a rush to pick up plates while we were still eating. Ended up paying £50 for a small grill and prawns curry naan. Overall not up to mark and expensive..

I ordered a tandoori mixed grill, quite an expensive dish, supposed to be chicken, lamb and king prawn, but it was missing the prawn! The rest of the Order was ok, arrived quickly.

We arrived at 6 pm on a Saturday night. The restaurant was empty. The phone kept ringing with a very annoying ringtone, they were very busy with takeaways. We were offered Cobra beers which took a while to arrive, we then ordered drinks for those who did not want a beer. The requested wine was out of stock. Service was very slow considering just for poppadoms and a main. My garlic naan was not very warm and very pale, but was reheated in a microwave, my mixed grill was smaller than expected, but my husband’s dish was very tasty.

Wrong order, and what i got instead wasn't good at all. Really regret my choice to order from them as I am not from here just found them on just eat wouldn't recommend nor order from them ever.

Only Indian restaurant which offers desi taste. Raj is very supportive and was getting food created as per our spice prefence. Very highly recommended restaurant if you are looking for Indian dishes in this locality.

The food test is delicious for veg & non-,vegihhand also the employee behaviour/respect and services very good. Thanks Raj for your great service. Will miss your restaurant test. Because I am leaving UK day after tomorrow.

Food was absolutely lovely, vindaloo was one of the best I have had and the onion bhaji was really good too, would definitely go back if I am ever around the area again.

Absolutely brilliant, 16 people for non booked meal, manger/owner did us a meal deal, absolutely top notch, great cold beers. Food all very good, not a complaint from anyone, rapid service attentive and very polite.. Definitely going back.

8 folk including 2 children. Service was slow but we thought it was good that the food would be freshly cooked. Average amount of chi ken in dish. So not really top class

Food tasted fantastic service was brilliant was not rushed at all had plenty of time in between courses fantastic place to eat.

Order took an hour. All cold and ripped the bag with the grease coming off it. Tasted like left overs and no effort. Poppadom tasted about a week old.

I only ever order Indian food from here as it’s never let me down. The chilli chicken masala is the best one I’ve ever had 😁

A very decent chicken pathia, egg rice and chapati. Well flavoured. Punchy pathia with a chilli and garlic kick. Rice nice a fluffy. Chapati as per normal. A solid 7/10 takeaway meal. Chatted to another local customer in house who recommended the food and said it’s been there for 20 odd years so must be doing something right. Fair comment.

I went there once on Sunday when I arrived from the US and it was fantastic! Later in the week (Tuesday) some work colleagues wanted to go for Indian food. I was like I know just the place! Then again we went on Wednesday as they told others about how fantastic it was And I had to oblige. Usually on my travels I eat at a different place each night. This was an exception in my 21 years of traveling. It was that good!

Food was absolutely terrible 😞 rice undercooked, wet naan bread and the curry looked disgusting more oil than anything else. Won't be ordering from this place again

Had a telephone call from delivery driver couldn't find my address. By the time we received the food it was not very warm. Also advertised free delivery but still charged

Popped in for a meal on Tuesday 16/05/23 - Not particularly busy, but chap was very nice, welcoming and the food was really good, absolutely loved the chicken tikka starter and could have carried on eating that all night. Main courses were good too and not overpriced. Would definitely go again if I’m in the area.

I booked to collect at 7pm. Got a text at 6pm to say was ready to collect while I was still out. When I went to Pick it up, they said it had just been cooked and the 6pm text was a mistake. However part of the order was missing. It had also been cooked earlier and left as poppadoms were soft. Clearly they can't read a time someone orders a meal for collection.

I ordered butter chicken, mushroom fried rice and naan. Out of which, naan is decent option! I'm pretty not sure when the chicken was cooked, probably yesterday's reheated food, extremely sweet curry😵‍💫 Then was this fried rice, gosh, that isn't fried, seems to be like pulav🤢 I think overall just naan is fine! I hope the restaurant takes an initiative to correct these issues ✌️
