We ordered food for £250 which included starters and main course. Starters came after the main course. All the starters were burnt. The chicken was smelly. Grilled salmon was oil fried instead and frozen in the middle. Please dont try Naga dish it was killer hot and unevenly spiced. Most of the curries were tasting coloured yougart drink. The so-called Briyani is another yellow coloured rice with smelly chicken. I will never recommend this restaurant.

Maruf was our waiter who was very friendly with excellent service. Just perfect amount of time between courses, hot plates and very generous portions. The lightest, tastiest naan I have eaten and all our chicken dishes, samosas and aloo were delicious too. We are new to Poole so chose Quay Spice from the excellent reviews which are all correct. A very good choice. Thank you Maruf and colleagues.

Quay Spice is our go to Indian take away in Poole. The food is simply amazing. The meat is soft and all the dishes are so flavoursome. Ordering is simple (online), just select the time you want your food to be delivered. Unfortunately this is also their weak point (their only one), 80% of the time, the food is on time. But 20% of the time, the food is late. It was 45 minutes late today. But because the food is so good, the wait is worth it. Highly recommended.

I’m just a passing visitor to the area, the aromas as I approached were wonderful. I had a Chicken jalong I think it was from the specials menu, with a peshwari naan. Superb, well spiced, a little hot, but nothing that the naan couldn’t cool. Service was excellent, the music was interesting and different to what you normally get. Well recommended and worth a visit

Food was lovely, however I would not recommend if you are vegetarian. They served my vegetarian partner a meat samosa instead of a vegetable samosa, he took a bite and was rather upset. The staff were unapologetic and did not seem to understand the gravity of serving meat to a vegetarian. We were given 10% off of the bill but that did not make up for the lack of customer service and apology.

Visited here 2 evenings ago with 3 others. Whilst the food generally tasted ok there were several disconcerting issues! We sat in corner and had small ants moving around the table! We ordered keema nan and it came out with no mince inside it! We sent it back for a replacement and amazingly the new one came out the same!! They did take it off the bill! Finally there was a small piece of wrapping plastic in my brothers dinner! We alerted them to this but the waiter basically ignored it and nothing was further said or done by them! There must be other restaurants to visit in Poole and therefore I would probably avoid. We certainly will not be going back.

On a visit to Poole with my son & this evening we decided on an Indian meal. I have been eating in Indian restaurants for over 40 years & am spoilt as in my home town we have a very good one. After reading Tripadvisor reviews we decided on Quay Spice. My god ! This place is unbelievably bad ! I cannot even describe the food as curry. Both dishes we ordered, a dhansak & a madras were putrid. After complaining to the manager ( I presume) he put a spoon into the sauce & said, I quote, ‘oh yes I see what you mean ‘. It was absolutely full of salt, tasted nothing like anything I’ve had before. Even after agreeing with us, no apology was forthcoming, I asked for the bill, in actual fact I should have refused to pay but just wanted to get out. They made no effort to remedy the situation at all. My advice is please do not use this place it is terrible.

Ok food (average)but, oh dear, the PRICE!🤔🧐. Nearly £5.00 for a pilau rice. £1.00 per poppadom plus charges for chutneys which were whisked away before our meals came. Granted, we should have checked the prices before we ordered...tbh we didn't look closely (we ordered one curry, one rice, one side, one drink each, two poppadoms each plus chutney......over £120.00 for the 3 of us)but even for today's expensive climate when eating out, these prices are too much in comparison to other curry houses with similar atmosphere and quality of food. We were not the only table to be shocked. There were at least two others who queried their bills. So, if you go, make sure you can afford it and......keep hold of your chutneys!!

We ate here after a recommendation from the bar man where we were staying. We walked in between 2 Christmas Parties so were aware that there could be a bit of a wait, but as they had managed to squeeze us in when already fully booked we were happy to. It was well worth the wait! Despite being full in the restaurant and I'm guessing with take aways the food was amazing. I had the Niligri Chicken Korma, the sauce was delicious and obviously freshly made. My husband had the Quay spice special, which along with tender chicken and lamb were also a couple of the biggest king prawns we had seen in a long while. I cannot fault anything about the evening except for some of the other guests who were less than gracious just because a couple of their drinks were missing.

The food was simply far too hot. Two guests in our party ordered a biriani which they have had from other restaurants and takeaways for years as it is a mild curry. This was so hot that even my husband who usually has a jalfrezi or madras found it far too hot when he tried it. When the waiter came to clear the plates away we tried to tell him especially as a lot of food was going uneaten. He didn’t seem to understand. Such a shame as it wasn’t enjoyable

We love an Indian curry when away and this one was rated well on Trip advisor whisky we were on holiday in the area. Visited mid-week and didn’t need to book, although it was quite busy when we arrived. Menu was good, lots of choice. Perhaps I’m old fashioned (or tight) but I hate having to pay for poppadoms-they were £1 each here which for me is a total rip-off, plus we didn’t realise we were also charged £1 pp for the chutneys (this wasn’t actually asked for, therefore assumed it came with the poppadoms, £5 for chutney that only 2/5 is us ate is terrible). Place is also licenced so no way of keeping the price of your meal down this way either. Drinks not badly priced and the rose wine was nice. Now the food-we were really looking forward to a curry to be left disappointed. The OH likes a hot curry, the jalfrezi left him with a mouth on fire!! He could only describe it as “that hot you just couldn’t taste anything” . I had a biryani and think the veg curry that accompanied it was also from the same sauce pot as I’ve never tried a veg curry that hot before - ever!! No kids menu, asked for a half portion of tikka to be told some cock and bull story about how it’s cooked, it’s never been a problem anywhere else for a 1/2 portion to be served so feel it was a blatant money making ploy. One of the kids doesn’t like curry so wanted nuggets, he said they were the worst nuggets he’s ever had ( we did say this was his fault for having them). So, our hopes dashed by this disappointing and very expensive tea. The prices are on the more expensive side and if the food is good then it doesn’t matter, however, this time was a proper let down and I wouldn’t recommend or return sadly.

The food on the whole is lovely but when ordering depending on which waiter you get there was a bit of a language barrier with some of the staff members however the staff did go out of their way to rectify the mistake and knocked the cost of the dish off the final bill and took responsibility for the confusion which happens occasionally. The king prawn starter was amazing the best I've ever had and my partner definitely had food envy. We forgot to order nan bread which was an annoying silly thing, if the waiter had suggested it we would have ordered it guys it's ok to upsell and do appreciate it

The dishes that I ordered were mostly sweet. (Who serves sweet chicken tikka masala). I ordered chicken cocktail where they serve 4 portions of lamb too but instructed them to serve only chicken. Still lamb was served. Onion raita was slices of onion on plain yogurt. Less vegetarian options. Staff was polite though. We ordered a take away for delivery. The food is really nice. The chicken tikka is one of the best that we had. Portions are good size. It comes in foil containers so if you have left over, you will need to have some plastic...

This place is normally really good, however tonight was very poor. I received a chicken tikka masala instead of a madras, the nann bread was raw and still dough like/ stretchy and my wife’s korma tasted of pure cream no flavour what so ever. Bitterly disappointed. Have complained to just eat.

Ordered a madras and it wasn’t even hot in the slightest with a tomato flavoured taste! Brought me out my mains whilst we were still eating poppadom’s and charged us for onion chutney even though we didn’t even order it. Charged us £7 for 2...

If you like salt and small portions for a high price.... then get you food here... chicken chat with not bread, half a portion of tarka dhal and the smallest mixed kebab you've ever seen.... all with too much salt your kidneys will ache... very very disappointed

Had our first meal here, definitely won't be the last if we return to Poole again, staff were very friendly, courteous and efficient, the food was delicious and excellent value for money. Would highly recommend.

Definitely the best Indian takeaway we have had in many years. All absolutely lovely food, not heavy, and cooked with care. Loved it

If you are looking for Indian food, this is not the place! We have ordered a great deal of food options only to be left disappointed. After providing feedback the response we got was ‘even we do not prefer to eat this type of food, but since there is low Asian presence we cannot serve authentic Indian and had to resort to a fusion version of it’. The starters were still okay but the mains weren’t not upto the mark. I would definitely avoid in future.

Lovely food and vast menu. This is our local curry house, often come here with friends and family and they have excellent service & staff, never had a bad experience. Such a great atmosphere!

Chanced upon this place on the way back to our hotel following an event at The Lighthouse. It was quite late so we didn't expect to find a 'sit down' open anywhere but were accommodated at Tandoori Nights and treated to a really good meal. I'm no connoisseur of Indian/Bangladeshi food but know it can be bland and oily or just nuclear hot. We had the Garlic Chicken and Naga Meat curries and both were spicy, hot yet full of flavour. It doesn't look much from the outside but gave us a very welcome end to a pleasant evening.

Don't bother. Ordered at 20.05. ETA 20.45. Arrived at 22.20. Had to reheat in the microwave. Hungry, and disappointed, and no customer service from the restaurant or Deliveroo. Tried to call restaurant four times. Twice they hung up. Twice went to answer phone. Finally Deliveroo called back and refused to cancel the order or compensate.
