Tandoori Mahal Restaurant in Merton

It's a shame because I've been ordering from here for 12 years and today they totally screwed up! I called to order and they didn't even know what I was talking about. Then they offered a callback which was pointless. It took 1 hour and 20 minutes for my food to turn up and they charged me £3.30 on top of the actual menu price. Appalling service. 12 years of loyalty down the drain! They didn't even offer a discount. Money grabbers! Do not order any food from here!

Have used T Mahal for approx 30 years. There has been a slow deterioration over the years in quality. Take away ordered News Years Eve - had to bin most of the food as it was too salty. Gave it one more chance a few weeks ago. Food was too salty with hefty does of sugar to make the "gravy" thick. Had to bin most of it. Never again.

Me and my friends went there for the first time, I would recommend this place for fast service especially. It was quick and the young waiter was very polite.

My work colleagues recommended this place. There was an amazing atmosphere at this restaurant. Would definitely revisit.

After an hour and half wait and three phone calls later my order finally arrived cold!! The chicken rogan was very watery with only five small pieces of chicken and two tomatoe slices in the dish. Will not be ordering from here again as no apology was given or an excuse to why wait was so long, I was told on the three occasions I rang that the food was on its way and would only be 10 mins.

Absolutely the worst customer service & mediocre food. Item was missing and staff were disgustingly rude and aggressive when I called to let them know. Do not support this place.

I ordered online (which attracts a 10% discount) and found the process easy. The meal was delivered promptly and I was thrilled with the quality. It was well packed and hot! (didn't need to reheat) Tasty Onion Bhajees, lovely chicken Korma, Bombay Aloo, Pilau rice and Naan. They also provided Popadoms and onion salad. I will certainly be ordering from The Mahal again. 10/10

Went here on a Friday night as wanted a quick meal in walking distance. Had a couple of takeaways previously which were OK but nothing special (not a great fan of take out Indian!!). We were the only people in the restaurant, but they were doing a roaring trade in Deliveroo and take out! Food was really very tasty and service was friendly. Cost compared to Indian restaurants in Wimbledon was excellent!

I visited this restaurant on 7th Aug with my family. I used my tastecard for a discount but this did not deter the staff from providing a good service. They were very attentive and the food was the best curry I have had in a long time. I had the chicken biriani which was so full of flavour. The others in the party had the Rogan Josh, tikka masala and madras as well as side dishes. We all enjoyed the meal and would highly revommend. We will return or use the takeaway service that they offer.

Decided to have a pre New Year curry, haven't been here for some time so decided to pay a visit and was well worth it, extremely good value plus you can now take your own wine if you want to for a small corkage fee which would make the evening even cheaper. Good tasty food served hot, great customer service, would definitely recommend and will make sire we don't leave it so long before our next visit.

We were a party of 10 and were recommended this restaurant and with some trepidation we went. What a surprise, it’s not a bad restaurant, fairly modern and the staff were friendly enough, Now to the food. For £10, yes £10 you get a starter, a main, a veggie side dish, a Naan (of your choice) and a rice. All for £10.. Ok, what did it taste like? In a word, good. I had the Shami kebab, the salad as fresh and the kebab was nice and spicy. My main was a Chicken and Sag Balti, extra hot, Garlic Rice and Keema Naan, no arguments there. Beer was a reasonable price.. Well done.. £10 well spent..

Have only recently started to visit this gem of a restaurant, but on each occasion have been very impressed by the excellent food that is such good value. There is an extensive menu with many of my favourites together with mouth watering Chef's Specialities. Service has been very helpful and friendly and I have no qualms about recommending this restaurant to my friends.

Have been visiting the Mahal for years now, always friendly service, and a great menu for the price. We always go for the jhal hot wings, and they also do a very tasty ceylon. Long live the Mahal!

Came for a family meal last tuesday evening and we were all impressed with the quality of the food and the staff were very good. You can either have buffet or they have a set menu that you can have or order from the menu so you have 3 choices of what you want to do. The buffet was really good value for the money. Dont expect anything like chicken curry keema naan things like that but for £7.95 it was great. Things like plain naan tandoori chicken wings bombay aloo lamb curry sheekh kebab chicken tikka are the kind of things on the buffet. Overall very good and definitely will return !!!!!

Mi menú tiene más de 20 años, que en sí mismo es un testimonio de lo buenos que son, no hay muchos restaurantes sobrevivir tanto tiempo. No es que yo uso un menú de todos modos, que sólo pide lo que quieras, y nunca ha sido un problema. Yo sinceramente puedo decir que nunca he tenido una mala plato de ellos. La comida llega rápidamente, es caliente, te dan ensaladas libres, poppadums y bebidas (dependiendo de la cantidad gastada) y los precios son muy razonables, casi la mitad de lo que mi hermana tiene que pagar en Glasgow. Curiosamente nunca he tenido una comida en el restaurante, pero debo hacerlo un día.

Always great value used for over 20 years. Eat in and takeaway great value delicious food and a great range from mild to spicy. The set menu has a great choice for a low price.

I have always had take-aways from this restaurant which are lovely, but for the last couple of months my friends and I have been going to the restaurant, and found what a lovely atmosphere and lovely food, and great value.

Been here a load of times and it never disappoints! Amazing set menu, you can't go wrong with 5 items for £8.95 per person. Staff are friendly and the restaurant is lovely! Definitely be back as I have my free bottle of wine with my next meal. Great place!

I went there Friday evening with friends and the food was excellent as was the customer service, would definitely recommend to other, my partner and I have been several times lately and have not been disappointed, I also went for a family sunday lunch a few weeks ago and everyone enjoyed it.

Use to eat here regular, loved the buffet from the set menu but they've stopped it being as many starters etc as you want and it's now just one of each item. Ate here the other night starter was fine always enjoy that but my curry was foul! First bit of meat huge bone, rest of chicken madras had no flavour at all tasted vile and I can 100% say this is the worst curry I've ever had in my life! Told them wasn't great but they was more concerned over shutting shop! Loyal customer for around 15 years but when I pay for a meal I want what I order not just you scraping out what's left of the buffet and chucking some hot sauce on it and calling it my madras?? Poor service, poor food no wonder it's dead all the time in there now and will be one less large family ever going there now. Shame cos was so good once before. Time to find a new decent one....

Had a two course meal with a friend,food was good,beer was cold.But will not return due to long long wait for WAITER SERVICE! They also ran out of DRAUGHT LAGER (COBRA)

Been on many visits before, always meant to go online and rate the food. Let's face it the decor is not the greatest however the welcome, service, speed of service - and - most importantly the food are great! There is an extensive choice of starters, mains (maybe not so much on the drinks side) are all tasty and in good order! I could elaborate however it's worth a try.. Bear in mind this is low priced venue, but punches well above its weight

Booked on Tastecard, great value for money, food is really good, great value for your money, customer service good, just the decor could do with updating.
