My husband chose Tandoor Chop House for his birthday lunch out and it was amazing! Being able to see the food being cooked in the Tandoors is lovely to watch and really found that part interesting. The food itself was SUPER tasty. There was spice so if you’re bothered by that deffo watch out. My fav was the onion ring bhaji, the chicken tikka and the bone marrow naan. We also had a non alcoholic pina colada which was really tasty & a Diet Coke. The bill was around £80 with tip which I think was worth it for what we had. Would highly recommend as portions not small at all and food super tasty!

I have been here twice now before going to evening events in central London and at the Albert Hall. The food tastes great, portion size is very good and the prices are very reasonable for the quality. I love being able to see the Tandoori ovens and the stage were very helpful for my wife who is gluten intolerant. There's a nice vibe about the place and I will go back again soon.

Two of us, pre-theatre at 6pm, on a busy Thursday. We hadn't booked but they found us a table. The food was mixed. The onion bhaji was fabulous, the cauliflower croquettes were a tad dull. The dhal was good if not to the same level as Dishoom. Our main compliant would be £16 for three (largeish) pieces of paneer seems very steep. Think it would be much better for meat eaters than veggies.

A delicious spin on some dishes, but the flavors remained familiar. The first time we went, we only ordered a few dishes - so we felt like we needed to come back to try more! I recently visited Tandoor Chop House after seeing some great TikTok videos, but sadly, the experience fell well below expectations. While I appreciate the idea of offering a unique twist on the traditional tandoori concept, there were several disappointing aspects of our visit. Firstly, the lack of vegetarian options was a real letdown. The beetroot kebab, one of the few choices available, was awful – it had a strange aftertaste and felt raw. It seemed like little thought had gone into catering for vegetarian diners. Secondly, the service was subpar. The staff seemed uninterested, bordering on miserable, and gave the impression they were just there to pass time and collect their wages. When we asked questions about the menu, they merely pointed at it and said, “what’s there is there.” When we inquired about the Thali, the only response was the price – no effort to explain or engage. It was disappointing, especially after the buzz created by their TikTok presence. To top it off, the toilets were atrocious. For a restaurant aiming to position itself as trendy and high-quality, this was completely unacceptable. It’s clear that basic maintenance and hygiene need much more attention. Overall, this was a very disappointing visit. There’s potential in the concept, but major improvements in food, service, and facilities are urgently needed to make this a place worth visiting again.

The food and service were great neither are the reason for the low rating! Service charge was added to the bill- no problem there. The customer is then encouraged/shamed into leaving an additional charge with the assurance that the staff will actually receive all of the additional service charge(not quite the flex the restaurant might think it is). I’m sure many customers, especially tourists would be unaware that they have already had service included in the bill. If that wasn’t bad enough, there is also a check out fee for the privilege of actually helping the restaurant by paying by QR code! In conclusion, the sour taste left after the meal had nothing to do with the food!

Knowing the restaurant was so busy, still staff took time to keep us informed. The food was really good. we ordered butter chicken and other vegetarian options, which was really nice. The first time ever, my daughter had butter chicken and kulfi in a restaurant that didn't have any nuts! The only downside is that the restaurant didn't serve rice dishes or plain rice. Ensalada Cesar de pollo de coronación o croquetas de coliflor picante o papas fritas de masa ninou para bocados pequeños. Listen, Two great things combined doesn’t always work. Joggers and leggings both work. Jeggings? Something’s been lost in the amalgamation. Smashing a good old English chop house together with a tandoor oven does feel like a no brainer though. Large pieces of meat on bone, slathered in Indian spices, burnished in a 500 degree tandoor oven. Is a review even necessary? Annoying bits first. QR codes for menus are nonsense. Just because you can doesn’t mean you should. Restaurants, stop it. We prefer to gaze lovingly at a piece of paper so we can map out our meal in a more tangible way. Call it a life pleasure. After much scrolling and squinting we deduce the menu is fairly small. A few meats and fish from the tandoor. Four sides and a selection of naan, that’s the gist of it. Something of a relief if choice fires a bright beam of light to your bunny eyes. I crave simple almost as much as I crave curry so we’re in a good place here. We order the lamb chops and tandoori chicken from the tandoor along with some black dal and a tomato, cucumber and onion kachumber. My reflex ‘rice for the table’ is swiftly rebuked by our helpful, knowledgable server. ‘This is North Indian cuisine’ we learn. I like that he was steadfast about their preference for naan, of which there were a few to sample. But first some nibbles. An impressive looking stack of onion rings that weren’t impressive in any other way. Soggy batter and the onion still raw inside. The smoked aubergine raita was nice though, and my index finger an adequate carriage. Cauliflower bites were more successful. The subtlety of the cauliflower brought out with sensitive spicing, they were at once crispy and soft, the raison d’être of a croquette. The rest arrives soon after and is a pleasing array. Tandoori chicken comes with the breast separated from the thigh and leg. I wonder if they cooked it this way too because both pieces managed to retain some of their juice. Skillz to the operator of that piece of kitchen equipment. 500 degrees can do bad things to a chicken breast but this one was plump and pleasing. Spicing wasn’t too dissimilar to many other tandoori chickens I’ve eaten and that’s a compliment. That there is a universal flavour to this dish gives hope that the collective unconscious can indeed make the world a better place. Jung would be delighted. Lamb chop spices leaned more towards the pepper and clove end of the scale and were a pleasing contrast. The tandoor is a lot kinder to lamb. Outsides are allowed to be burned. Insides actually benefit from a lack of prolonged hear. Something the Chop House exploits well. Black dal came as expected. Plenty of it. Nice and creamy. Perhaps not as sugary as the daddy at Dishoom. Onion and tomato Kambuchar did its job of lying to the brain that this was indeed the right amount of green to be putting in the body. Breads worked well. Bone marrow naan was a plain naan spread with a good bone marrow sauce. Never seen that. Would order it again. The naan were thin and not indelicate. The thinness made it feel like these were to be enjoyed in their own right rather than just to fill any last remaining pockets of air in the stomach. My companion in this latest culinary adventure came all the way from Portland. An old friend lost to the brain drain. I wanted to remind her what she was missing in good old Blighty and all I could think was ‘curry’. The marriage of the old English chop house provided a relaxed, informal, sturdy setting in which to gabble, gossip and grab at food. The Tandoor Chop House does what it says on the tiffin. Meat and spice in an English Indian canteen. Simple. Effective. A good marriage. Like a spork. Prices are steep though, perhaps as a consequence of being slap bang in the middle of the world’s capital. Nonetheless, in this age of divorce, a successful marriage of ideas which I hope lasts until my Portland pal pops by again.

Cosy atmosphere and some traditional vibes with the massive ovens that are visible. The food was not bad, service was pleasant. They accommodated for extra time on a weekday evening. Expect a service charge on the bill. The spices are not going to be very spicy and we requested some sauces to make it less dry as it didn’t come with any. Overall it was decent, can’t complain. Butter chicken naan didn’t have the same effect as eating butter chicken, would be good to see this on the menu as it is a bit limited. The tandoori was good though and cooked. Everything else I would say was ok.

Loved the ambience, watching the open kitchen with tandoor with a British classic pub feel. The honey honey chicken with pickled onions was full of flavour. Tangy, sweet, sour and a hint of spice. The lovely hostess recommended these dishes to us and every last bite was so flavorful and scrumptious. Highly recommend if you like Indian food flavors!

If you are reading this, then I highly recommend trying this restaurant!! It was so good we plan on going back at least once, if not more, before we depart London!! We had bhel, black daal, Amristsari lamb chops, Mamapen naan, and nimbu masala fries. Finger licking good!!

There was a delay getting our table, but the staff were good enough to offer us free drinks for the inconvenience. We went for the big feast. It was excellent with incredible flavours. Massive portions and good value considering how much we ate. I'd definitely recommend

Been here a few times on Sunday for the Thali. It USED to be great. Last time we went the Thali had been replaced with a set menu “feast” costing more and containing mainly salads and cauliflower.

What a supreme delight....wow. I don't think any other establishment I've been to including a fair few Michelin star/s restaurants can pull off such yummy naans like The Tandoor Chophouse. The seekh kebabs also top, kashmir side potatoes waahhh!!! I loved the butter chicken naan and chickpea chart....my only gripe is I didn't have enough room to try more delicious food. Excellent service and the food is the bomb 💣 👌 😋. Lovely history to the place and lively atmosphere....put it on your list and go there.

Lunch break, not sure what it is with Indian restaurants in London but it’s always super delicious food. Friendly and attentive staff, next time I take more time. P.S. Only made a picture of the dessert

Whenever I get to London I try to eat here. Not even once did I get disappointed. Food is excellent, fairly authentic but of course slightly tailored to match the Western European taste, i.e. spicy, but not ridiculously hot. The extremely friendly staff offer good advice to those who might not be fully familiar with the variety of dishes on offer and take really good care of customers. I got served by a particularly caring individual going by the name of Yahem. I can truly recommend this place and suggest to book a table in advance.

I WAS JUST TOLD THEY CLOSED DOWN MONTHS AGO FOR SOME UNKNOWN REASON 😭 Currently my fave Caribbean food shop of all time, food is legit true Jamaican fire keep coming back when I’m in the area. Chicken properly marinated and spicy unlike majority of Jamaican food shops, rice and peas to die for, cosslaw is amazing and I don’t even like veg, the hot gravy is amazingly good on the rice. This is closet thing I’m going to get to Jamaican food in Uk.
