Maharaja of India in City of London, Westminster

Whenever I get to London I try to eat here. Not even once did I get disappointed. Food is excellent, fairly authentic but of course slightly tailored to match the Western European taste, i.e. spicy, but not ridiculously hot. The extremely friendly staff offer good advice to those who might not be fully familiar with the variety of dishes on offer and take really good care of customers. I got served by a particularly caring individual going by the name of Yahem. I can truly recommend this place and suggest to book a table in advance.

First visit here. And we’ll hopefully be back again. Food was absolutely delicious! And service from Nayem was excellent.

Delicious food and friendly staff! Had a reservation but ended up in the area earlier than what we thought. We stopped in to see if we could be accommodated early and the staff was so nice and gracious to accept us early! Nayem was great with assisting us and our little one with selections and we were very happy with everything! Wonderful experience and would highly recommend!

About the service, I found Halim and Nayem really helpful and kind. The service was great. Staff was cooperative and kind. However, I wouldn’t speak same about the food. As an Indian, the food was not that satisfactory. I loved indian beer.

Excellent meal. As a travelling consultant I’m used to eating alone and was wary of it being G a tourist trap so close to Leicester Square. However the food was really excellent. Onion bhaji crisp delicately spiced and not at all soggy. I had chicken vindaloo as main course and it did not disappoint. Very hot but still nicely spiced and fragrant. The rice was divine and the service from Nayem was perfect. A real find.

Maharaja in London is undoubtedly the most awful restaurant I've at any point been to. The food was appalling - it seemed as though they just unloaded variety powder into the dishes to make them "look" genuine, however the taste was horrifying. The Maharaja starter plate was a flat out joke; it in a real sense seemed as though somebody had proactively eaten and abandoned the pieces. I was sickened. They claim that it’s an indian restaurant but it’s not. It’s Bangladeshi Restaurant so please be aware.

Food is delicious very tasty and fresh and not greasy. The paratha is excellent, crispy, chewy not soggy, and the service is very good. I gave 4 stars because the chicken masala we had was a little dry but overall, everything we ate was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The lamb biryani was delicious! The waiter Halim was very attentive, very nice and professional. He had a sweet, hospitable, kind demeanor which is nice. The restaurant is very comfortable and clean. We had a great experience at this restaurant.

Went in for a quick lunch. Nayem helped me choosing the dishes. I informed him that I am I hurry and need the order to be fulfilled at the earliest, and as requested Nayem was able to server me the food in 10 minutes. Amazing hospitality and great food, with nice ambience. Will definitely visit again.

Outside of India, London has some of the best Indian food. We really enjoyed Maharaja! Our server Nayem took great care of us and gave great recommendation to suit our palette.

It was really nice to visit the resturant I was assisted by MR. Nayem Rahman he service was really good and the quality of food was awesome. Must visit for the Indian taste in London.

My friend and I had the worst experience at this restaurant, particularly in terms of service. I understand that weekends are busy but it is rude to change seats after customers have settled and ordered. They even rushed us when taking the order. Our waiter was extremely rude and didn’t even give use time to go through the Menu. Secondly, the quantity of Panner Kadai was so less and the taste was subpar. They charged us £15.95 for this low quality dish. Not worth it at all. There are better Indian restaurants in Central London. Maybe it’s best to avoid this restaurant on weekends. Their service is pathetic.

We ate dinner with Nayem as our waiter. The food was fabulous and the music was excellent. We were able to share lots of plates as a table and tried many things. We also had a mango lacee which was so good. Highly recommend this being where you eat Indian food in London!
