Roti Chai in City of London, Westminster

We’ve been visiting Roti Chai for many years and it never disappoints. Great location, friendly and welcoming staff, yummy food and always consistent. Can’t ask for more…

Well it's one of my fav at Oxford street..the food is so good and scrumptious...specially their Chicken bun 😋 and passion fruit

We ate in the upstairs "street food" restaurant. I would not really describe it as authentic street food, but it does not come across as high end Indian dining either. Vegetable samosas came in a colourful soup of sauces, Railway lamb was good but the chicken biryani was pretty average and could have done with more flavour. Maybe it was trying to be like Dishoom but not as good.

Excellent place, love the food, chefs are brilliant, very authentic... Manager Atul is excellent and Vijay is very helpful as well 🙏💕

The receptionist Lola was very accommodating the rest of the staff were incredibly friendly and the food was amazing! Will be returning.

I came here for a late lunch with friends on Sunday. The food was really nice and tasty, the service was great too. The only thing I’d say as a negative is that the meat main dishes such as railway lamb, the gt road chicken and the kerala prawn dishes, was that they had far too much sauce for the meat/fish that was on the dish itself

Love this place! First went 5 years ago, then when I visited London again I knew I had to come back. Definitely worth a visit - highly recommend the biryani and popcorn chicken. Next time I'll need to try the full restaurant, I've only ever done the street kitchen.

we had anniversary dinner were very nicely welcomed by Vima, she served us during the meal and made sure we were well looked after. thank you very much Vima, we will definitely recommend to our friends too. 😄😄

we had better chicken tikka before but the drinks were nice and food was good too, the waittesss was very friendly, her name was Vima. the place is nice as well very clasic.

This place has two different restaurants… 1st fl serves Indian street fusion food and basement is for traditional Indian cuisine… tried the 1st Fl. this time… the service was great .Everyone was very nice ... I walked in around 5:30PM without a reservation , ( assuming that it would get crowded later the evening, even it was on a week day ) and was seated right away… Sure enough, after 6:30PM the place got crowded… I tried few items on the menu: Chaas Popcorn Chicken ( Panko breaded deep fried chicken ) Warm Chili Paneer Salad ( spicy warm salad with green chili, capsicum & Indo-chinese style paneer) Kerala Prawns(fennel, coconut milk, seaweed 'podi", turmeric, ginger, garlic, curry leaves & tempered mooli) with butter Naan & basmati rice as extra side dish )…. The seasoning and flavor was on point. May be the items that I ordered, but I felt that they were rather ( southern ) Asian fusion item than Indian flavor cuisine….. may be that is the trend of current Indian street food… For sure I will try the dining room at downstair next time… Overall I enjoy my dinner there.

I love roti chai Have been numerous times and it never disappoints My go to place when introducing someone to the London Indian food scene Good value for money with very flavourful dishes with some unique twists on classic dishes Would recommend to any and all!

Good vegetarian food, good use of spices and good range of options. Very pleasant and attentive staff so good choice. Decent value for money as well considering the location.

Tika was a great server and the food was delicious! On a side street away from the business.

Ordered the somosa chaat, chicken and lamb curry, rice, 2 naan and a mojito. The food was good but nothing to write home about. In terms of flavour there are better restaurants out there but a decent place if you want something away from the hustle and bustle of the Westend.

The food was incredibly delicious and spicy, and the service was extremely fast. The staff were amazing and always smiling, especially Tika, who was very cheerful and helpful. We asked about some of the ingredients and the meaning behind the dish’s name, and she answered all our questions with a smile. I also asked her to charge my phone because I really needed it, and she kindly helped me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Tika!

Amazing Indian food and exceptional customer service. Off note - they have different menus for different floors and we preferred the top floor with street food menu. The railway lamb was just perfect and so was the chicken biryani. They had happy hours until 19:00 on a weekday which was a bargain. Special thanks to the staff for being exceptionally accommodating and friendly!

Horrible restaurante indiferente - apareció 15 minutos antes mientras el personal ocupado preparando para el día. Se le dijo en términos inciertos que abandonara Restaurante y volver en 15 minutos - Aquí está el roce, amargamente frío afuera, tengo un problema de cadera que me impide estar de pie durante demasiado tiempo y después de haber solicitado que pudiéramos sentarnos en el calor que le dijimos a la salud y la seguridad nos impidió sentarnos tranquilamente durante 15 minutos. Esta gente claramente no tiene humanidad... Es difícil pensar cómo puedo ir a cenar con ellos.

Went there for a valentines meal with my wife, had a table booked for the dining room as opposed to the street food bar, food was great and excellent service, waiters are attentive and gave great suggestions for the mains. Overall great, no complaints and will return to try the street food.

Sweet, but hot, it hurts even if you ask for the mildest temperature Shrimp Masala. I once liked that the shrimp were not tough and soft and were large in size. They served us with the meal a generous side of yoghurt with yoghurt and cucumber.

Best Indian food I have ever had. So good. I recommend the gt road chicken. Everything is good. Our waitress Khushi helped us pick dishes, super attentive. Will visit every time I am in London.

I went to Roti Chai with my brothers. We grabbed a lot of starters and finished off with some warm masala chai before setting off for our long journey home in the cold which I would recommend. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Thank you Tika for a lovely experience. I would recommend the Bun chilli chicken which was my favourite.
