A must-visit Indian Restaurant if you’re in the City of London! Had an amazing dinner at Anokha – everything was full of flavour and beautifully presented. We started with papadoms and drinks – Cobra beer for one of us and a 10/10 piña colada mocktail for me (honestly, one of the best mocktails I’ve had). The mix platter and onion bhaji (another 10/10) were the perfect start. For mains, we went for the monkfish rogan and slow-cooked lamb – both rich, tender and absolutely delicious. The sides of mushroom rice and coconut naan bread were spot on. Service was friendly, the atmosphere was lovely, and it felt like a little gem tucked away in the City. Highly recommend!

Lovely place nice food good customer service

Wow what can I say about this aesthetically pleasing beautiful restaurant. The decor alone is just incredibly welcoming 😍🤩 from when I walked into being at my table the service was outstanding. The Indian food was just mouth watering, so many dishes to choose from I had the mix grill to share for starters then we shared and madras curry and masala both chicken which was amazing. The deserts was just delicious followed with there beautiful Sauvignon wine. Prices are reasonable for the quilting of food, service and atmosphere you get as it is 10/10. Will most certainly be back again.

I had an amazing experience at Anokha London. From the moment I walked in, the ambiance felt welcoming with a stylish yet cozy atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and professional — a big shoutout to Salah who took great care of us, and to Mustafa the manager who made us feel right at home. We were fasting and visited during my son’s birthday, and the team went above and beyond by offering a complimentary iftar. Such a thoughtful gesture really made our evening special. The food was absolutely delicious — we had the laal lamb mix and chicken handi, both were full of flavor and perfectly cooked. This place delivers not just great food, but also a truly personal and memorable experience. Really nice and cozy place. I enjoyed the food and cocktails.

The food was delicious and great sized portions for the mains however for the starters we ordered the lamb and prawns. We only got two which seemed like a taster. It was delicious and for mains I we got curries, special rice, coconut rice, naan and onion baj. Tasted delicious will definitely return.

Lovely ambience, very nice food!

One of the best customer experiences I have ever had. I went on my son's birthday and we were fasting. They even entertained us with complementary iftaar. 10/10 on everything. Salah served us and Mustafa was the manager. They gave us the discount as well. We had laal lamb mix and chicken handi.

Visited here on a Monday evening. We arrived when the restaurant opened so it was very quiet but soon picked up. The staff were attentive and friendly. Unfortunately we didn’t find the food very tasty however it was presented well. We wouldn’t come here again, but others may find the food nice, so it’s worth a try!

Si había una rata en el restaurante, es probable que haya más en la cocina, así que me levanté y me fui. Hell expensive with very small portions. Staff is rude & dont give a shit about what one is ordering & when you repeat so called staff gets offended. Will never visit them.

Our group was overcharged by over £100. We waited around 2 hours for very ordinary food. Go to brick lane for the same ordinary food at half the price.

Bittlevthen eliminado de thevtable a pesar de un poco de agua que queda en él! Sentí un servicio muy apresurado como si estuviera ocupado y necesitaba la mesa a pesar de que el restaurante estaba vacío! En una comida de cáscara de nuez similar a la comida preparada, el servicio apresurado y con un precio excesivo, no volvería a volver cuando nos alojemos en Tower Hill!

4 of us dined here on a Friday night. Very expensive for not a lot of food and food not exceptional either. Asked for tap water with drinks, which isn't available, bottle of water bought to table- on receipt of bill charged 6.95 for said bottle! Felt very rushed service as if busy and needed the table despite the restaurant being empty! In a nut shell food similar to ready meal, service rushed and over priced.

I just got to London and was looking for a quick meal. I stumbled upon this restaurant and was pleasantly surprised at how nice it is inside. And the food is soooo good. 5 stars!

Amazing atmosphere and really enjoyed the music, And was warmly welcomed by Sam, Had a set menu for 2 the Mix Platter starter was amazing so tender, Tried a Komdi Rassa for my Main Dish full of flavour delicious spices succulent Chicken perfectly cooked infused also included Rice and a delicious Naan Bread and a Vegetable Curry on the side was so nice me and my colleague was satisfied for our business lunch.

Food taste was wonderful.. had samosas which were a let down. It was haldirams samosas heated up.. other items were very tasty. Onion bajji, panneer tikka, roti, fried Bhindi ( was really awesome!) Me and my family were out and about in the city shopping, we were looking for somewhere to eat, and remembered a restaurant which was recommended by colleagues, Anokha Indian restaurant, the food and beverage's was exquisite, lived up to the hype, service was amazing from all staff a big thanks to Sam who was very helpful, in helping us decide what to order he was very friendly attentive and went above & beyond making our dining experience exceptional

We had a group lunch and the restaurants ambiences was amazing, The foods presentation was superb and very tasty I especially want to mention Sam one of the waiters who was very friendly and welcoming to us and I had the lamb shank and it was delicious not to mention it's the best Indian restaurants we’ve ever dined in, We would definitely will be coming back and would highly recommend this restaurant as a must try.

1) Lot of small flies flying making uncomfortable to eat. 2) Pathetic vegan dish 3) Poor chocolate fondant 4) Chilli Naan was good ( that's why 2 stars for food) 5) Not worth the money 6) Ambience very good (3 stars, if there were no flies it would be 4 stars)

The Staff fantastic, friendly and attentive. The food was delicious. Highly recommend the Vegetarian options and they even have a Vegan section. Being from Leeds and Bradford the quality was a welcomed treat.

This restaurant has already received bad reviews for service, but they don't seem to care! I ate here with my grandson before visiting War of the Worlds, just up the street. We had plenty of time for lunch, but we were almost late! The service was atrocious! I counted seven waiters gathered round the bar area, one cleaning glasses, one folding napkins, five doing nothing, and all talking in very loud voices while the few customers desperately tried to gain their attention to get service. The food was pretty standard, and the prices O.K., and I would have given the restaurant a 3-4 star rating had the service been even close to acceptable.

We had a really nice meal with our clients from Australia and they thoroughly enjoyed the food and atmosphere.

I visited this establishment with my husband. The interior is very beautiful, the light is dim and it gives a romantic mood. This place is quite popular and noisy) but it won't stop you from spending a good evening there. The waiters were very attentive and friendly, since it was our first time in a place of this cuisine we were recommended some dishes that were not too spicy and not dry, so the dishes were very tasty. The prices are also affordable and the portions for these prices were super.

Having received a menu through my mailbox the other day, this evening I phoned for a takeaway to be delivered, but the background noise was so loud that the the person at the other end couldn't hear me and I could barely hear him. So I phoned back and appeared to get through to the manager who then asked me to hold on, which I did for a while before giving up and going elsewhere for my meal. I won't be bothering them again.

Came in on a lunchtime at midday. Staff seemed to ignore us when we arrived. When they did come they seemed unsure whether we could get a table but got us one. Then nothing...for ages!! Had to flag a member of staff down to take our order. The poppadoms came quite quickly then a long pause for our starters. By this time is was 1pm and they were getting busy. Had to flag someone down again to ask for our main courses. They seemed to be fauning on those regulars and we felt totally ignored. Food was good but the service was just beyond poor. If the food had not been so nice, it would have been a score of 1.

Went for lunch before War of the Worlds experience. Very slow service. Pretty much ignored. An hour and ten minutes in we had to chase food. Table used as holding area when serving surrounding tables. One waiter snorting flem noises put me off. Food ok, but disappointing as a whole.

I would definitely recommend you try Anokha London you won’t regret it the atmosphere is very nice. Also the service is absolutely amazing when food arrives it’s always hot and delicious. And wow…! I must say the mock-tails and cocktails are so so good I definitely recommend you try the entire menu Well done to the Anokha team and a big well done to Sam he always provides a good service and always engages with us and makes our experience enjoyable.

Sumptuous opulent decor in a beautiful historic building. This restaurant is a stones throw away from the Gherkin so very accessible. We were a party of 9 and every dish ordered was delicious. This includes the sides, breads and rice. The meats were soft and tender. The dishes had an authentic depth of flavour and spices which many upmarket south Asian restaurants lack. I asked for my dish to be made milder than the 2 chilli rating it had on the menu and they accommodated this. The staff were extremely welcoming, polite and attentive. Highly recommend.

Great food and atmosphere and staff

A beautiful restaurant with beautiful decor. We were looked after by the lovely Jahan this evening while visiting with friends. He took it upon himself to recommend three dishes to us which were very tasty and the perfect amount of spice. He was also kind enough to give us poppadoms and onion bhaji on the house. His service was spectacular and seemed very knowledgeable about the food offer. I would definitely visit this place again.

The food is very tasty. Not the best Indian cuisine I’ve had in London and portions are quite small. It does come at a hefty price averaging around £20 per main meal (non-vegetarian). The restaurant itself has a lovely atmosphere with authentic decorations and stunning table setting. Very exclusive feel as you walk down into a subtly lit dining area. The service is the biggest downfall with hunting down waiters to place your order or ask for the bill. I recommend ordering the Chilli Paneer and Dahl.

Finding an Indian restaurant in this area of London is easy. Finding one that serves great food with friendly service and in upmarket surroundings...much, much harder. Get yourselves to Anokha. We had such a great time. The food was amazing, hard to pick a favourite dish but the mixed tandoori starter I would eat until I had to be carried from the table. The meat is soooo tender. We were planning our next visit even before we finished eating. Just fabulous.

This is a fabulous restaurant! We had an amazing meal here and the service was friendly and helpful. I have coeliac disease and am severely allergic to gluten and the staff were able to advise me what food was safe for me to eat. Every course was great but the starter of mixed tandoori meat was especially delicious. The meat was so tender. We will definitely return and would recommend this restaurant wholeheartedly.

Really lovely food. With a very friendly service

Let me start off by saying that I just came back from a 10 day trip in London, and of all the restaurants I went to this one was the best hands down. I ordered the vegan chicken tikka masala, and the whole time I was eating it I cannot believe that it was not real chicken. The taste, the texture, the look, it looked so real. I was in disbelief. Mind you, I've eaten a lot of vegan food, but this was far superior. The curry as well was probably the best curry I have ever had in my whole life. The service was phenomenal. There are many servers helping us, but I stand out is Sam. He offered to take a picture of me and my friend in front of their Instagram chair. They were very warm and inviting and made us feel at home during our trip. I really recommend you trying this restaurant, you will not be disappointed.

Hi, I visited Inokha a few weeks ago. All in all food is good, service is excellence. Good option if looking for a nice restaurant in the City.

Worst, we were a big group everyone ordered different dishes. All of them had same gravy, not even close to authentic Indian food. The waiters were rude and in a rush to clean everything up after 8:30. Slow service

The food and the service was amazing! It's a bit weird that the atmosphere is like a night club (also with the music) but otherwise was everything very good!

This place is fine if unremarkable, service is good and there is a broad variety of cocktails. Have been a few times but always large groups so would like to try when investigating the food a bit more. Great atmosphere and restaurant decor.

We went for Friday lunch and were greeted by a lovely person Mr. Journal, as it was our first time at the Anokha he recommended some dishes and drinks (passionfruit mojito 🍸 was Very nice and refreshing). I will return to Anokha for sure.

There is no way of faulting this place, the food, the staff, the ambiance, the facilities are all 10/10. I taste tested the food before booking it for my husbands 50th. My children came out saying ‘mummy that’s the best Indian food ever!’ So it was a no brainier that this this was the place. Before leaving I made the booking. They asked about the cake , which I got delivered to them and did not have any issues with refrigerating it. They also asked me to post them any decorations. I posted them the decorations and they kindly put them up, banner balloons and table confetti. So when we walked in, instantly my husband knew that this area was reserved for him. We’ve been to many restaurants before in London but there was always a no decoration policy, cake can not be stored in their fridge etc… Eating in London is not cheap anymore, but Anokha was able to deliver dish after dish at an impeccable standard without breaking the bank. The staff were always at hand and the manager often came to us to make sure that everything was perfect. We were a party of 12, the youngest being 2 years. Everyone got their food at the same time, there was no waiting about. With 14 popadoms, 11 starters, 11 main meals , 6 sides , 10 naans, not one person in our party complained! Now that’s something to write about ! Would we go back ! Of course we would !

Service was okay, but food was average and mostly quite plain.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is lovely. We went for lunch, but I feel A dinner would be more enjoyable. The food was nice, the vegetarian options could have been better. The Bhidhi bhaji was not that great. The Service was great, we had 2-3 waiters serving our table. Murrad, Saif and Salah were very kind and their service was fantastic.

Sam and team handled 20 of us with ease and the service was great. The food was so tasty and well portioned. Genuinely one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve been to.

First time here and when we first walked in the door it looked like it was really quiet. However we wandered downstairs and suddenly it came alive. Food was really good and plentiful. Only slight criticism I have is that service was too attentive (felt almost rushed for getting orders place), we arrives at 7.20pm on Tuesday night. Despite this, I would definitely go back.

Anokha is an amazing place in central London. The food was amazing and the service was top notch. All staff were excellent but our server (Jahan) was out of this world amazing. He went above and beyond with his service. A true tip of the cap from this old chap!

Staff was hit and miss, some of the staff were really friendly and nice to chat too, others were complete opposite. Had a platter of mixed starters, they were good.. Had a couple of curries, not traditional but lots of sauce, melt in the mouth lamb- sauces were heavy and rich, they were good, 6.5/10- Sag Aloo was great 9/10 you could tell it was made fresh and well. Biryani's were traditional & very nice, however they do not offer a free side (wet curry) with the Biryani which I found odd, so you had to pay over £20 for the Biryani and then another £8 for a side dish which was very expensive. Over all very nice, fine dining / Michelin star prices without the fine dining / Michelin star taste. A curry dish was £22 ish, I suppose you are paying for the location. Over all it was nice- Giving 4 Stars as the Biryanis were very very good.

Visited last week and had fantastic meal. One of best I have had. Service was excellent all round particularly from Salah who is just such a lovely guy Will definitely go back next time am down.

One of the best lunch, dining experience had in a long time, Food & Beverage was delicious…….! We started the traditional way, Indian Larger Poppadom and Chutney awakened my tastebuds, tried Spicy Poppadoms whilst waiting for our starters nice, and unique full of flavour, recommended the King Prawn Puri was so delicious, amazingly succulent tender very tasty, was very impressed with the signature dish Badsha Bhag full of flavour medium based enjoyed spices delightfuly ingredients infused put together pure heaven, tried a special cocktail the BMW, crushed ice, very soothing, and very refreshing, then with the main course, enjoying my favourite, Piña Colada, we shared variety of Cheese Cakes, staff was so attentive and friendly my colleagues, loved the Fresh leaf Mint Tea, Royal Coffee, Yeager Meister, port, and a wonderful after Curry Chocolate

I go there regularly in the evenings. One of the best service from the people that work there. My favourite dish Tandoori mix grill with vegetable curry on the side and 2 chappati. Excellent flavour and marvellous decorations. I will say if you don’t try them you are losing out. Definitely I would recommend them.

Food portions are small, it is over-priced and the taste is not near expectations of a ‘high-end’ or even an ‘Indian’ restaurant. Would highly recommend not coming here if you wanted to taste authentic Indian food. Ambience and decor is the only plus in an otherwise disappointing visit. Food: butter chicken was not authentic at all and it tasted sweet as it had sugar. Tarka daal had no tarka. Lamb karahi was the only saviour. Will not be going back ever again!

Food was alright, nothing special. Service was extremely slow, even though the place wasn’t busy. Took us close to an hour to get our food. I wouldn’t recommend or go back.

An unusual restaurant. It's subterranean, so when you arrive, there are no staff just a descending staircase. Food was excellent, service efficient but, by Irish standards not very friendly. But the sting was in the tail. 12.5% service automatically applied. Bas idea. If you believe your food us worth it, have the cahones to put it onto the price on the menu. That attitude would prevent a second visit
