*Waited nearly for 1 hour and nothing came, no starter and no main…🍽️❌ We chased many times but my plate is still empty. We’re writing this review while hungrily waiting… Okay…we just decided to leave without eating after an hour as they said it may take another 15 mins??? Very disappointing dining experience. It’s our second visit and never again

We were a group of 4 adults and 2 kids that visited for an early Saturday dinner. It is a large venue split over 2 floors, and it was semi busy. Our group ordered the samosa chaat, trio of duck dosas, keema pau, garlic prawns, egg truffle naan, lamb chops, fish tikka, lal maas (mutton curry), chicken tikka makhani, black dahl, along with some rice and a few naans. The food ranged from decent to excellent. We particularly enjoyed the dosas, keema pao, garlic prawns and I was also impressed by their light and airy naans. The egg truffle naan was a bit disappointing (lacked truffle flavour) and the fish tikka a bit dry, but these were the only minor negatives on the evening. For dessert we tried the gulab jamun tiramisu and the jalebi cheesecake, with the former being the clear winner of the two. Service was quite friendly and quite speedy. It felt well organised. The bill for our group came to around £600, of which £200 was spent on drinks. On the pricier side but not excessive given the Mayfair location, and we were also able to get 15% off the bill due a current promo. Overall an excellent Indian meal and I do regret not coming here sooner, given it’s been on my radar for so long!

My partner and I were looking for a last minute table in the Carnaby Street. We tried to grab a walking table at a place we had seen previously on a Sonebidy Feed Phil episode but were greatly deterred by the long line up of over thirty other patrons who were waiting ahead of us. A quick search of the Michelin Guide lead us to Bombay Bustle where we were able to be seated immediately and enjoyed a delicious meal.

We went there for dinner on our last day trip to London, we were looking for an Indian restaurant and we got to know about this through Google. They have charged us extra money for cover charge (and didn't inform us beforehand about it) and when we inquired about it they mentioned it's restaurant policy. Staff is very friendly with foreigners but very rude with Indian. I would never suggest any of our fellow Indian to go there. It was such a waste of money.

We had a very average meal at Bombay Bustle last evening. We could not finish any of our main courses - simply not to the standard you would expect at a restaurant like this. The service was ok. Very inflexible on menu changes or requests. That’s their policy and that’s fine. Overall, a very average experience for the hype and price.

It's a good restaurant, but overpriced even for London. The food is good to very good, but unfortunately the ambience and especially the service do not match the price. The greeting and table assignment were very unfriendly and sometimes arrogant. At first we had to wait quite a long time until the waiter noticed us. Afterwards a more experienced and friendly waiter came and things got better. Unfortunately, the first impression was decisive: we would not recommend the restaurant

Bombay Bustle in Mayfair is a gem of a traditional Indian restaurant that completely blew me away. I visited with friends for a three-course meal, and every single dish was a hit! The curry I ordered was bursting with flavor, so much so that I even asked to make it spicier—much to the server’s pleasant surprise. The spice level was perfect, and I was in foodie heaven. The service was top-notch; we were more than well looked after, with attentive staff who made sure our experience was seamless from start to finish. The cocktails were delicious and perfectly complemented the meal, but the real stars were the desserts—absolute perfection! I’m already counting down the days until I can go back for round two. Was there last weekend for a reunion party with my PhD supervisor and his family. The food is very delicate and delicious. The atmosphere is perfect for family gatherings and small group meetings. We were sitting in the basement floor and the decor is beautiful and elegant. Perhaps might be better to have a slightly brighter light as I couldn’t see very well the food being served as it is rather dark. It’s pretty good for a night out and the price is not bad for a classy restaurant in Mayfair. The food is nice but not as in amazingly wonderful. But their cocktails are fabulous! Bombay Bustle stands out as a vibrant ode to Mumbai's lively spirit. The interior is a homage to luxurious Indian train travel – with pops of color and polished brass fittings that evoke both Bollywood glamour and a sense of adventure. Despite the late weekday lunch hour, the welcome was warm, the service smooth, and the restaurant blissfully quiet. My famished self dove straight into the menu. I started with the samosa papdi chaat – crispy samosas doused in thin chickpea noodle and a tangy mint chutney. A perfect example of elevated street food. The rarah keema pao was the bustling street food scene in a dish. Spoonfuls of lamb mince chunks and the accompanying soft buns were the ideal delivery system to soak it all up. The onion salad provided a welcome contrast – a refreshing crunch to balance the richness of the lamb. Next, the chicken tikka makhani, a world away from your average butter chicken. A classic done exceptionally well. The chicken sporting a beautiful char had obviously spent some quality time in the tandoor, imbuing it with a smoky depth of flavor nestled in a rich, buttery sauce. A comforting yet nuanced delight. On to the dabba dal, an overnight-cooked black lentil dish that was pure soulful goodness. It was the kind of dish that warms you from the inside out, begging to be scooped up with fluffy naan (which, of course, was ordered – and promptly devoured). No Indian meal is complete without some bread, and the garlic naan and butter naan here were like the reliable train conductors of this culinary journey. The garlic naan was fragrant and garlicky, with perfectly blistered edges and the butter naan was slathered in creamy butter and a study in comforting simplicity. The décor adds an extra layer of charm, transporting you straight to the heart of an upscale train carriage reimagined for the modern foodie. If you find yourself in Mayfair skip the overpriced posh nosh and board the Bombay Bustle as you wouldn't want to miss this delicious train to culinary delight.

Bombay Bustle, located on Maddox Street in the heart of Mayfair, has been delighting guests since its opening in 2017. Drawing inspiration from the renowned Dabbawalas of Mumbai, this restaurant successfully recreates regional and family recipes, capturing the essence of Mumbai's rich culinary heritage. The restaurant's ambiance is enhanced by the Retiring Room, a glamorous space on the lower level that boasts its own dedicated bar. This section of the restaurant is perfect for larger groups who wish to indulge in luxury while spending quality time together. During our visit, we had a truly wonderful experience at Bombay Bustle. We thoroughly enjoyed the company of our friends while savoring the authentic Indian cuisine on offer. Even our Indian friends, who were initially skeptical about dining here, were pleasantly surprised. One of them, who happened to be quite particular about her Indian food, couldn't help but compliment the restaurant at the end of our meal. Overall, Bombay Bustle exceeded our expectations. The flavors and presentation of the dishes were spot-on, showcasing the skillful execution of traditional Indian recipes. The restaurant's commitment to delivering an authentic dining experience shines through in every aspect, from the warm hospitality to the exquisite flavors that transport you to the streets of Mumbai.

UPDATE: Have changed my opinion on this restaurant. Must have hired some new staff and the woman on the phone recently was extremely rude. Do us a favour and if you hire British Asians, please teach them Indian culture before putting them infront of customers. Otherwise, one ill suited and ignorant bad staff member makes this another good restaurant not palatable anymore. OLD REVIEW: I have been meaning to review Bombay Bustle for a while now. Right off the bat, I love the quality and variety of their food. The staff have always been lovely whenever I have visited, they greet me with a smile and make me feel so welcome. Most importantly for me, when I have visited with family, they have made everyone in the party feel welcome too. In comparison to some other supremely snooty restaurants in the same area who have picky child dining policies and exorbitant minimum spends per person, Bombay Bustle stays true to its Indian roots in culture, in the way they welcome guests and customers in a beautiful way and serving food that is wonderfully authentic and tasty. It is my go to comfort place and I hope the management ensures to continue to delight people like me as you do now!

To summarise excessively over priced dishes that wants to yell Michelin star food, but in reality basic Indian dishes, some street food dishes, all basic no frills no fireworks to tantalise the taste buds. I was a little apprehensive on visiting Bombay Bustle after reading about poor service and small position sizes. I have to disagree with both of these findings the restaurant was busy upstairs and downstairs and the service was what was expected in my view of an Indian restaurant at this price range. The food was very good and having eat at Jamavar in Bangalore (India) on a number of occasions and in London. I would personally would say the food & service here is much better than Jamavar, London and in a nicer setting. The food is pricey by £3-4 per dish over other Indian restaurants in the local area and personally it wasn’t any better than other restaurants you could have saved approx £20-30 over all the dishes for a table of 4 somewhere else. Drinks were London restaurant prices. Desserts were OTT starting at £10 and they should have been round the £7/8 mark again similar to the mains adding a couple of pounds here and they did add up overall. The positions sizes were good and didn’t have any complaints from our table. 15% service - again this added £50 to our bill which we felt a little cheeky with the above. Other Michelin stared Indian restaurants charge this and this restaurants as far as I’m aware have no stars, so really should have been 10-12.5% max. Overall it was a good meal, good service for the four of us, but do expect the bill to be north of £300.

Exceedingly overpriced, NOISY, NOISY, NOISY restaurant that my ear buds and loud jazz couldn't block out. The lambchop appetizer was excellent but the $40 plate of lamb curry containing 6 or 7 small chunks of meat was mediocre at best. Add $10 for two small servings of room temperature, steamed rice. Service was prompt but joyless possibly because from two feet away it was impossible to be heard over the noise. Did I say it was noisy. Better Indian food is available in London for half the price and without the NOISE.

Food was pretty good. I started off by ordering a drink, the winter sour. Not sure what I was expecting, something closer to a whisky sour but this has no sour whatsoever. It honestly wasn't my cup of tea. I then ordered Madras Chicken Curry, garlic naan and rice. It came out quickly and was eaten rather quickly because it was delicious. I chicken was tender and the curry was flavor. The naan was cooked perfectly and paired well with the curry sauce. I usually don't get dessert but I decided to try the recommended banana caramel chocolate pie. It was amazing. I wasn't able to eat it all, unfortunately I was by myself but it's something easy to share! 😍 As far as the service, it was alright. It was long wait times for him to get to me and it wasn't too busy. My water was empty majority of the time which was my biggest reason for the service. I even had the empty drink and he never asked if I wanted another, or more water. Then, I asked for the bill and I found it interesting that they automatically add a "discretionary charge of 15% " on top of the vat 20%. When I asked what it was, the waiter said oh, if you enjoyed the restaurant, you can pay it but if you didn't it's optional. When I asked if it was like a tip, he said oh no no, it's to the restaurant so I opted out. Tip isn't a thing here so I was confused. I didn't like that at all. So when you do come, ask for the bill before you hand over your card and remove the "discretionary charge" . That's absurd.

Best indian food in town. The butter chicken, king prawns and biryani is my most favourite dishes. The service is great although the front host never remembers anyone which is not the best approach in a restaurant of this level. I would definitely recommend to work on that, the rest is great.

Good - location, no. of staff, behaviour of staff Average - Food taste, atmosphere Bad - Mocktails were horrible, damn expensive I won't recommend unless you have at least £100 per head as a budget.

After my disappointing visit in the summer, it is pleasing to pen a more positive report this visit despite the eye watering price creep resulting in a bill over £240 for 2. The Rarah Keema with Pao bun (£19.00) was deeply satisfying. A rich and spicy fine mince with squeezed lime and fresh baked bun for the senses to enjoy. Butter garlic prawns (£18.00) were well presented but not special. However, the three Achari lamb chops (£44.00) were splendid. Marinated well in yoghurt and curry, these thick chops were so tender and flavourful that the price was merited. Chilgoza Maia Broccoli (£16.00) was undercooked and frankly inedible - stick to red meat like the Malabar lamb curry (£31.00) that followed with wonderfully hot and fresh Butter Naan (£5.00). Surprised to find the "discretionary" service charge levied at 15% making the overall total for 2 persons a whopping £241.50

We ordered dabba dal, paneer butter masala, chilli chicken and breads. The dal and chicken were strictly average in taste and the paneer was disappointing as it lacked flavour. All breads were very well made. It’s close to regent street so price is on the very high end. Ambience was also average, nothing much to talk about. Staff were attentive. It’s fine for a one time visit.

In a city of London - a city which is treating every individual as same and with no economic status/level difference, in this restaurant, if you can afford to go, still they will make you feel that you are there in their restaurant to have a free meal!!! The first & second line command of restaurant was meeting everyone table to table for their feedback but what went wrong with us that these both the lines of commands avoided asking our feedback when our food requirement was some specific i.e. Vegetarian. A totally partial experience although they offered a table without our so called prior booking with a great timeline to complete our dinner in just 60 minutes!! First, they wanted 3 of us to occupy the table which was meant for a group of 10 to 12 people and they wanted us – all Vegetarians to seat with them but on our request, they did allot us a separate table of four as we wanted to have pure vegetarian food as well as Jain food. Mr. Jit, a second line command in the restaurant, did allotted us the table with a very very heavy face & with the condition of finishing our dinner in just 60 minutes was not even showing a courtesy of smiling as if we were there for a free meal and they have to allot us a table!!! Just one guy to appreciate here was one Pakistani (non-Indian) server who respected us and served us with much more appreciation. Food was also good but the totally partial environment & ill treatment took away joy of having delicious food miles away from home as they can make you feel that you are all wrong guys at the right place!! We sincerely felt and strongly recommend any Indian from India visiting London wanted to have an Indian food should prioritize their visit to any other equivalent place as there might be chance that you may be illtreated like we're & shown your economic status if you are not a celebrity or even a big person from London itself who are big in London whose economic status is known to this restaurant‘s staff. Even when you can afford to visit London and afford to go to this restaurant, the restaurant staff – especially higher lines of staff will make you feel that you are visiting their restaurant for a free meal!!! We got surprise when we came to know that this restaurant and possibly few other restaurants in London e.g. Jamawar in London's prime Mayfair area have some connection with or owned by Leela Hotel Group of India - The Leela Group of Hotels of India!! We're not expecting such ill treatment!!

A terribly disappointing dining experience at a huge cost. I cannot believe we paid £20 for a chicken dish that came with 3-4 teeny tiny pieces of chicken. A complete rip off! Stingy portion sizes. We left the restaurant hungry having spent £200.

Very good Indian restaurant! We tasted the butter chicken and the Korma, with Garlic Naan, Pilau rice and Mango Lassi. Everything was excellent, the quantities are perfect. Special mention for the service and staff! We had a great time, thank you! For information, it is even possible to do karaoke upstairs.

My favorite restaurant in London. I always make a point to stop here for dinner and drinks when I’m back in town. I’ve never had a bad meal here, and I love the atmosphere. I highly recommend it!

Its closed. Thank heavens. Dirty place. Oily food. Hideous. Had a photo of Princess Diana in the window so as to lure in punters. In the photo Diana is running away from this place.
