Food nice. Majority of staff very professional and polite however 1 person In particular was probably the rudest person I’ve seen . Acted like everything we asked for was a problem. Our plans of a nice meal before ent theatre went wrong when my partner rang me to say he had broken down on the A20. I had already started eating and ordered some food as a main so had to apologise and say to the staff I will be back , explained the situation and I am happy to pay for the food I’ve eaten and ordered. I was told not to worry and sort it when I can back( we were staying at the hotel) My partner rang the hotel to explain and ask if we could book for dinner for after the theatre. It’s was implied I had left without paying 😡. Anyway eventually after to the theatre came back for dinner. Food was really nice. We were then asked if we wanted breakfast the next day as they needed to make sure someone was there to do it… Room was nice. No concerns really although could do with a clean in places but a comfortable stay. Breakfast was disappointing. Got a call at 7.55am to say breakfast was ready🤷🏻♀️. We hadn’t ordered it so not sure what we were going to get. Staff member very nice and professional. Breakfast was either cornflakes or fruit and fibre and some barely toasted bread. Then about ten minutes later 4 hard boiled eggs were brought out. Very underwhelming. On the whole wouldn’t stay again purely due the room not being cheap and the attitude from the one staff member in particular. Shame as had heard nice things about the place

Great restaurant with excellent service, ample parking and an extensive menu. Prices are on the high side but the food is of excellent quality, therefore, you would respect to pay those prices.

We have dined at the Tamasha regularly over the years and went last night as a group of four to celebrate our daughter's birthday. The food was good as always but the restaurant has lost its glamour and sense of occasion that used to make it special. Staff were not particularly friendly and no effort was make to acknowledge my daughter's birthday despite having told them when making the booking and on arrival to the restaurant.

Another very good curry at The Tamasha last night. One of our group was very late due to trafiic problems and the staff were quite happy to hold our table until he arrived. Great service and the food is still the best indian I have had in the local area. A bit more expensive than your usual Indian restaurant but worth it. Highly recommended.

Always our favourite curry and a very tasty meal.. we tend to get takeaways but have also eaten in the restaurant. Been going to Tamasha for years and it never disappoints. The staff are all very friendly and I think it’s reasonably priced for the quality of the food. We tend to ho for chicken tikka masala or King prawns.. yum 😋

This is becoming a regular meeting place for 6 old mates getting together. It's a top end Indian restaurant and the food is excellent, more expensive than most but well worth it. The staff are great and happy to join in with some fun which makes our visit that much better. I had to pay the following day as their machine had broken, happy to do it after a great night.

My husband and I visited Tamasha to celebrate our anniversary. The staff were amazing, friendly and made the whole experience so special. We enjoyed a selection of cocktails before our meal at the bar, these were delicious! The food at Tamasha is truly amazing, we were again blown away by the quality, attention to detail and presentation of each individual dish. We finished our meal with the signature Tamasha coffee, the taste was magical. Highly recommended Tamasha if you’re looking for something special with great ambience, amazing food and cocktails.

Having eaten at Tamasha over a period of 20 years, I was very disappointed with the meal last night. It was a special occasion as it was my friend’s birthday and we hadn’t seen each other for 8 years. Yet everything let me down. From the surly attitude of the owner to the food quality. A table near us had a special birthday surprise from the restaurant. Yet despite us mentioning many times that it was my friend’s birthday, we got nothing. Had to send the okra back as it was excessively salty and the onion bhajis were served cold!! We made the most of our time together despite the restaurant not making any effort at all. So disappointing as I had recommended Tamasha to my friends and they had come up from Cornwall. This might be the end of a long relationship with Tamasha.

I’ve been using the Tamasha for over 25 years and it remains, in my opinion the tastiest Indian restaurant in the borough. I Jist can’t find anywhere else locally that can recreate the depth and array of flavours. Their chicken Kori Gasi is to die for, particularly for me because I love fresh curry leaves with the option of toasted red chilli if you so wish to bite into them. Also the Lamb Gosht is out of this world. It’s obviously slow cooked with incredible spices and it shows. Yes it’s not your average price, but it’s not your average curry house. There’s a cute bar, where you can have pre or post dinner drinks and some of the wsiters are in traditional outfits which is a nice touch. It’s definitely one for a special occasion also. The toilets are a bit spicy also with Kama Sutra pictures adorning the walls, so perhaps if you have young children, you may wish to ask for the appropriate toilet which I understand they have also.

14 of us went yesterday to this restaurant food was good but don’t bother to buy spirits as they are not what they should be I drink vodka and I complained twice as was like no spirits in my drink just ice when we asked what vodka it was they showed a Smirnoff bottle! No way was this Smirnoff if it was vodka it was watered down! Ordering was very confusing AS waiter taking our orders also limited English so very hard to understand him. Then was eating popadom half left in basket and waitress took basket didn’t ask if finished. NO WOULD NOT GO AGAIN NOT AS IT USED TO BE.

We visited the Tamasha with my son and daughter-in-law. We had a fantastic meal which started by having cocktails in the Colony style bar. The meal itself was outstanding. The spicing was spot on and the portions generous. We finished the evening off with a flambé coffee. A great authentic curry house.

Hi, Just moved near the area on Widmore Road and thought that I would have a look at Tamasha. So I went to the website and had a look at the menu. No prices. I don't understand why. I just saw another review stating that they are overpriced for the area and a response from Tamasha suggesting that "pricing is concern these are well articulated, no hidden or concealed charges applied" If so why are these not your website menu? I would not go to any restaurant where the prices are not readily available. And before I get a response claiming that perhaps they are on the menu board outside the site or on the menu when seated, that's too late. You have a perfectly good website so just display your prices. Your food/service may be great but you are doing yourselves no favors by not showing prices. I will take my business elsewhere. So many restaurants in Bromley. There are many required tripadvisor boxes I cannot tick as I haven't actually dined there so I just put average for all. Maybe in the future, if I visit I can give a different review.

Tamasha is one of my fav places , I often go with my husband or to celebrate our birthday. On 12th August 2019 , we went to celebrate my birthday. They presented a desert with sparkler and played the happy birthday song and gave me a turban to wear for few seconds. It was remarkable. My twins loved it and they enjoyed it a lot. Food in Tamasha is our all time favourite and so we thought if celebrating my birthday again this year. When my husband requested them to get a sparkler and do a small celebration, they asked for £100 , he thought it was too much and so didn’t go for it. He quietly proceeded to the table. We ordered our food and in few minutes we saw they got the sparklers , played the happy birthday song for someone on another table. My sons were very sad as they wanted to have the same thing for their mum and I saw my husband sitting quietly and feeling so bad. I told him doesn’t matter and that’s when he said that they had asked for £100. I am sure the other table didn’t pay that and it sad that they don’t understand these small things can make such a BIG difference. I am not going back there again. It’s really sad and no matter how good they are , they need to learn to treat everyone equally.

This was our first and probably last visit here because of a couple of reasons. First the good. The place looks very authentic and fitting. The photos/pictures around the room are interesting. Yes the karma sutra pictures are a bit out of place but I didn't find them offensive. The ok bits. The staff are attentive and tend to your needs well enough and the silver service is a nice touch. The not so. The food, although very tasty isn't anything more special than that you can get in any other Indian restaurant in the country. Further more, twice the price AND IM NOT JOKING! Over £70 per head with one drink is excessive. I know that you get what you pay for but that is ridiculous for a restaurant outside of the London tourist area.

I visited Tamasha last night and had the most delicious meal that was served by very attentive and helpful waiters. I have been going to Tamasha for many years now and in my opinion it is the best Indian restaurant in South East London. The ambience and the food are excellent. The restaurant is very inviting and authentic and it suits every occasion from having a quiet mid-week meal to a special celebration. If you haven’t been to Tamasha then you are missing out and I highly recommend that you visit this restaurant especially during this difficult time as all small businesses need local support.

I have read the reviews and can see service is a BIG issue here. I also agree with comments that the food is overpriced and the decoration has also seen better days. How often does one want to see the same old pictures of the karma sutra in the toilet? Interesting the first time, not so interesting afterwards. And if I am being politically correct, it’s just crass and unsuitable for a restaurant that serves families and young children. Anyway I digress. This restaurant is living on its past glory, last award 2007/8….....it is what it is. Should really be in New Addington not Bromley. My wife had booked the restaurant for my 50th on Sunday 9th February for a party of 20 or so. Total bill came to the not insignificant amount of £1111.33. Including this spend with the £700 I spent on my first visit - my office party in December - I have spent in excess of £1,800 in the restaurant. My mistake. I should have gone to Chai Naastro in Beckenham or Cinnamon Culture in Bromley. Better service. Better food.My wife had spoke to Roy (who said he was the manager) and had pre-agreed the food. I have attached the copy of the Tamasha bill to this review so you will see there is a service amount of £135. Shameful as there was no service. But first, let me look at the pricing to support the overpricing comments: A bottle of Sancerre is £48plus 12.5% service =£60. Same bottle costs £13 in the supermarket, other restaurants charge £26 but this place £60. Food was ok. Starters great. Mains, umm, not so great. Cold. Plates not warmed. Overpriced. BUT SERVICE CHARGE OF £123. WHAT SERVICEPoor service is my big gripe. Service on the Sunday is abysmal. The restaurant prides itself on “silver service etiquette” and the days of the raj and being top notch. It is no nowhere near.On the Sunday there was only three other tables occupied for a buffet beside my party but the waiters were too busy watching the Bangladesh- India cricket match rather than attend to customers. My drinks took a very long time to arrive. Given we had preordered the menu to make it easier for the restaurant to prepare the food there really was no excuse.Silver service? Humbug. The younger waiter was great. The other older one - miserable. Three bottles of wine were just opened and plonked on my table. None of the wine tasting. Forget that. No wine pouring. Forget that. I poured. He went off to watch cricket. Who won? I don't know I was pouring wine. Everyone was talking about how poor service was.I paid for the service under duress. Roy agreed to refund £100 service the next day. It is discretionary and service that day had been absent. Then it went quiet. Roy said he would call, then didn’t. We called and were told he's with a customer. No call back.Just a common courtesy to call back....... Next day, he said he can’t deal with it until Wednesday. Didn’t call again. When pressed he then said the manager is in India until 5th March. Ok, mate. Powerless.I think the absent owner probably has a lot to answer for keeping these guys who I understand sleep over the restaurant on a tight leash with no power. Anyone heard of the Modern Slavery Act 2015? Big bill. Small Service. Mediocre food. Unkept promises. I shall give my patronage to the other outlets I mentioned in future.

The service was surly, with waiters disagreeing with each other at the table over our glasses. We were refused a request for ice and not offered a dessert menu despite it being included. Insistía en que no podíamos tener nuestros abrigos hasta que le diéramos un boleto numerado que ninguno de nosotros había recibido. In short............. Staff greeting was rude and very unwelcoming. All four dishes were all way too salty including the naans. Both First and Last time I will ever come here again.

Our monthly "curry club" has had Tamasha on its list for a very long time and it didn't disappoint - superb food, efficient and attentive service and a nice, authentic atmosphere. On thing though - what's with the faux "Happy Birthday" table to table with naff music, hat wearing, hand-clapping routine. It reduces a classy place to the level of a naff holiday camp. Is this a regular thing because, if so, it's bloody horrible?

New Year’s Eve 2018! At £80 pp very overpriced, food portions were small, staff were rude, food wasn’t to very good standards. The service was poor and felt like everything was rushed. They claim to cater for coeliacs which is gluten/ wheat free but there where hardly any options so very limited to what you can eat. For each dish I choose I was told I could not have it because it had wheat in it yet when the booking was made over the phone they said they can cater for this allergy.

I called ahead to book for 5 people stating clearly that I was going to use my Gourmet Society card to make orders. They accepted my Gourmet Society reservation on the phone for 5 people but upon turning up, was told that the card / membership could not be used for parties of 5 people. As it was a special occasion and I had elderly parents with me, we proceeded to dine.

This restaurant has a nice ambience. It is very traditional mix of India and an old hotel from the 50s but it works. We had a very friendly server who seemed very eager to help us and it was appreciated. He also gave good advise on the food choices.

We have been coming here for 16 years, but I just realized I've never actually left a review of this place on here. So doing my duty to support a place we absolutely love. The food is to die for. Not your usual Indian restaurant at all. It's one of those rare places that gives me that singular moment of bliss when the food first touches my tongue, when I simply sit there, close my eyes, and let the flavours do their magic. The parathas are the best aroiund, too. This is also great for entertaining, and our guests always love it. The decor is 'elegant crusty' (in a good way!) with lots of memorable photographs (especially in the, erm, bathroom, but even short of a memorable trip to the loo, it's a treat to soak in the hisorical photos all over the walls of the dining rooms). The Tamasha coffee is not only a treat but a spectacle to watch. Long live Tamasha!

Been very loyal customers of this establishment since it’s opening and always had very good food and service until today when at 9:45 we were refused a table for 2 when opening hours are until 10:30! There were 2 people wanting a quick meal yet we couldn’t be accommodated. Over the years we have been told of poor service but chose to ignore it due to our exceptional experience, however it seems that such feedback is correct. I would suggest that you either alter your advertised opening hours or failing that train your staff on their customer service. I would also like to point out that your website offers the last booking at 10:00 which contradicts your staffs information.

My boyfriend and I went here on a Sunday and enjoyed their lovely buffet for a very good price. I have a coconut allergy and Imran offered to make me a chicken dish without coconut in. This was a sweet gesture and was very tasty.

Great colonial style restaurant/hotel in bromley. Staff very friendly and helpful. Decor is fantastically thought out. Tables are large and the menu is mouthwatering. Been here many times, on the expensive side but worth the extra paid as the whole experience is unique in Bromley.

Hosted a party of 16 on two tables last Thursday for dinner. The food was outstanding and seriously authentic. The service showed Indian hospitality at its finest and gave rise to many fond memories of my time in Northern and Central India. First class. And make sure you start things off with some gin in the bar before dinner.

So the only reason we rated this 4 not 5 was for the WiFi, we was unable to watch Love Island on catchup after dinner, devastated! But everything else was great, from arriving to leaving, the room, fab, the dinner, beautiful, service, very friendly, the place was clean, had everything we needed, parking and train station only 10 min walk away, room was cleaned for our second night and a Cute continental breakfast in the morning, thanks for our 2 nights

It was a family dinner (8 adults and 2 kids) at Tamasha, had bit of struggle to find empty car parks, restaurant was very busy but we had it booked in advance so was ok for us. We were greeted with a huge smile. Staff was very professional, food was good but felt like it could be better for what we paid. Not strongly recommended.

New style Indian at its very best in authentic, back to the Raj, surroundings. Nothing to fault at all, except the price, but that's worth it considering the quality

So, we took family and friends for a birthday treat. Last time we went was 4 years ago, and it was amazing, so we thought a birthday treat this time. Not as amazing as it was before. Food good, but not A La Carte as before. Just like a normal curry house. Service felt rushed. Not any attention as previous visits (we have been going there for special occasions for the past 15 years). Just seems like its lost its exclusive curry experience touch. Décor hasn’t changed. And it shouldn’t, that’s the lure. I felt quite embarrassed to take friends who haven’t been there before, saying it’s totally unique, when it was just a normal curry house.

I went there with my family last week, staff seemed professional but a bit robotic. Menu way to big and spoil you with options but could be a little simpler. Wine list very expensive and the same with the food. Would i go back there again?? No. Toilet trip is a must :-)

the service continues to be excellent. However the food is more important when paying such high prices. I'm afraid to say that the food is no longer superior to the average indian restaurant. So many additives that I was awake all night with dehydration. The fish was very overcooked.

My partner and I visited this restaurant on a recommendation from a couple we met in Mexico by the pool! I’ve lived and worked in Chislehurst for three years and never even knew it excited. We didn’t book but just turned up on a Saturday evening at 8pm. We were greeted by a very friendly team and taken inside the best Indian interior designed space of a dining room I’ve been in. As I entered I felt like I’d been transported to The Taj Mahal Place restaurant! The historical pictures that decorate the walls are amazing and I spent all evening looking at the fabulous art instead of my other half! We ordered two Kama sutra cocktails, that were fantastic and lots of ice cold beer equally as good! The food - nothing like you’ve ever seen or read on a English Indian menu but exactly what you’ve seen and read on a true Indian restaurant menu. The taste of every single dish we ordered - EXQUISITE. I am truly disappointed I haven’t found this restaurant sooner, but I can honestly say I will return in a heartbeat as it was a true pleasure to dine here. I will also tell as many friends as I can just how fabulous this restaurant was.

Went with my wife and children last Saturday for lunch, asked for non spicy food (thinking in the kids) and it was spicy. with a baby with us my wife needed to go a few times to the bathroom to change him and the waiters complained (my wife over heard) we used too many times the bathroom (the restaurant was barely empty - another table and us). I had a gourmet society card for a deal and the main/senior waiter didn't like I used the promotion. Food was late. In generally really bad experience - not going again. Better local Indian restaurant with better service, food and much less expensive

Great food and a nice atmosphere, we were a group of 8 and to be honest we had a lovely evening. I think the cost of the food is about right but I think their drink prices are high. We'd had a good drink but we were surprised that the bill was over £500. It didn't help that a £40 bottle of wine was added to our bill. Despite their excuses its poor isn't it? I would have thought they could have offered us a free coffee and their apologies were muted. You can make up your own minds. Caveat Emptor!

I took my young son to introduce him to a curry house curry. We went for a Sunday Buffet. The food was delicious and a good temperature. The meat was good quality and beautifully tender. I don't normally like eating lamb but the Kashmiri Lamb Bhuna was delightful. It was very nice. While we might have liked some other things to be available it was a nice selection. The desert options were nice too. The staff were very friendly and inviting. It was a very pleasant experience and felt my son was able to have a comfortable and engaging new experience.

I treated myself to a takeaway this evening- the first time I have not cooked in ages as I can't afford to eat out! After reading the reviews on the Bilash I decided to order from there. The order wouldn't go through online so I rang them. I was told that the food would be 45 minutes and it arrived in 15! The chicken balti was the worst that I have ever had! It was overcooked tandoori chicken thrown together with very large chunks of onion- awful I rang and complained but said that I didn't want a refund as the sag also and rice were great but just wanted to let them know and tell them that I wouldn't be ordering from them again. I can truly say that the man on the phone was not bothered!!

For around £20 pp inc a few beers you can’t beat it! Ok maybe you’ll find slightly better food elsewhere but it’s great value and won’t disappoint 👍🏼
