I have seen this place a few times whilst passing, always wanted to try, so today I dropped in for a quick snack takeaway. I asked for the Wrap which they advertised outside on the window, only to be told that they did not have wraps, but that these would be introduced soon. I then settled for the Chicken Burger. The Server behind the counter announced that he would be back in 2 minutes as he was not qualified to prepare the Burger and that he had to go and get help. He kept his promise and was back within 2 minutes, and the new guy prepared the Burger, which he proudly announce was probably the best Burger I ever had. As it turned out, he was not quite right about that. The Burger was not really bad, but I would certainly not go for this again.

Had the curry bowl of the day for £5 which is excellent value for central London. Great flavours, generous portions, would definitely come again.

My first visit here after seeing the restaurant on the Too Good To Go app. The staff were very welcoming with excellent customer service and took their time to explain what the special offer entailed. I got the strong impression that the staff took pride in the food they were serving and they were happy to tell me about each of the dishes on offer. The meal itself was extremely good value and tasty - and for that and the pleasant comfortable atmosphere, I will be sure to return again in the future.

Ordered on the Too Good To Go app yesterday, as no plans on what to have for evening meal. Picked up after work & was given the chickpea meal, but a very small pot of sweet pots instead of a drink. The app states £14 worth of food for £4.50, while it is cheaper this meal would only have cost £9.45 if bought normally - false advertising. Taste was average, have made tastier chickpea curries at home. Will not be returning.

This food was divine and the service was amazing! Shoutout to the nice Asian guy who served me food, he was so polite and generous! The food tasted very nice. I chose my meal and everything was great. I asked for a vegetarian option and asked him to make a pick out of the bunch and he made a good selection for me. He gave me chickpeas, with brown rice. I then got a portion of gunpowder wedges which I could not stop eating! The food was so fresh warm and I asked for tamarind sauce with some cumin yogurt on the side to calm my taste buds incase there was a kick in the chickpeas or tamarind sauce but everything was well balanced, flavours were brilliant and I’m a fan! Definitely going back. They have vegan vegetarian and meat options with selection of base to choose from quinoa or brown rice which is brill. Even their boxes and cutlery are recyclable which is so Fab! Well done! Unfortunately no pictures to post this time I was too hungry and the food smelt amazing

I made a special journey to visit this place soon after it opened. When I arrived, the first thing I did was to ask the young lady at the front desk, if there was a toilet I could use. When I had finished in the toilet, I was about to order at the counter at the rear of the place, when a patronising and officious little man, who I guess was the manager, informed me that the toilets were only for the use of customers and that I would have to leave the premises. I tried to explain, with what I felt was impeccable logic, that the way it worked was that once I had ordered the food and proceeded with the process of eating it, I would, ipso facto, be a customer, thus entitling me, albeit retrospectively, to use the toilet, This seemed to be beyond his realms of understanding, so I bade him adieu, and made my way to Chik'n on Baker Street, where the service, food and vibe, as always, was top-notch.

I recently visited here for lunch (takeout) and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. I'm always on the lookout for healthy alternatives in the area and am glad too have found this place. I'd rate the freshness and quality as both excellent. Overall taste and value as good. Recommend for lunch or quick takeout.

Average given the price. Nothing particularly bad, but given the price the food quality was about average and nothing really stood out as wow, as you would hope for somewhere charging £50/head. On the face of it the decor looks ornate and impressive, but actually when you looked closer the wood panelling looked tired, and in places may have had black mould on the edges of the mouldings. The atmosphere was also somehow cold and lacking warmth and class — it is possible this was due to a poor choice of lighting, mostly overhead and cold in temperature, and not enough side lighting and of a warmer colour temperature. It was also actually cold! It is not clear why the air conditioning would be on and set to such a low temperature in October. It was too cold for my 74 year old mother, but eventually they did provide a small space heater, which greatly improved things. The staff were friendly and helpful — i.e. with the space heater —and the manager honoured the price I was quoted online, which disagreed with the price in the menu in the restaurant.

Its closed. Thank heavens. Dirty place. Oily food. Hideous. Had a photo of Princess Diana in the window so as to lure in punters. In the photo Diana is running away from this place.

The idea is interesting, small plates but interesting and very well cooked. Staff are helpful and knowledgeable which is a very big plus. We've been a couple of times and will go again.

I had an incredible dining experience at Royal India in Covent Garden. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a beautifully authentic atmosphere that set the tone for a memorable meal. The staff was attentive and friendly, making excellent recommendations tailored to our tastes. The food was truly exceptional—each dish was rich, flavorful, and expertly spiced, capturing the true essence of Indian cuisine. The butter chicken was silky and packed with flavor, while the biryani was aromatic and perfectly balanced. Whether you’re a fan of Indian cuisine or just looking to try something new, Royal India is a must-visit. This is easily one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve been to in London, and I can’t wait to return!
