Really poor bar service and very rude bar staff! Worst bar I've experienced in London. Took ages for them to get the drinks order, they ran out of drinks and over charged.

Fuimos al anís para las bebidas de cumpleaños. Era un lugar encantador y encontrar la entrada era anita confuso, tienes que ir a la cocina de canela para entrar en el bar. Creo que fue parte de la cocina de canela. Estaba tranquilo cuando fuimos alrededor de las 5. Lo que nos permitió tener una buena puesta al día y no estar ocupado o abarrotado, lo cual fue agradable. Tenemos una buena mesa y servicio. Tuvimos cócteles con fue agradable y tenían una promoción de bebidas a mitad de precio ese día. Lo cual fue un extra. El ambiente era agradable y relajado y el lugar era muy elegante. Definitivamente estaré visitando nuevamente.

Nice location, slightly small and cramped feel

I came here for an engagement party and it had a good vibe to it. There were two sections for two different parties on that day. The drinks menu looked really good and reasonably priced for London.

A really nice place, the bar is in the middle with seating on both sides, a cloakroom, and a DJ, lots of space to move and mingle. The DJ was good at the function we attended, lots of space to dance and have a good time. The barman didn't like serving water though. Good place to have a party and the room is closed of and private. Connected to Cinnamon Kitchen next door. A good night out 😊

Went for a private 40th birthday party. Great food and drinks selection.

This place doesn't even exist 😦, I tried looking for it, but I didn't find it,I was walking for over an hour searching for it and when I asked people If they knew where Anise bar was, no one knew. Absolutely ridiculous 😠.

Decent Indian food but a bit on the pricey side. For a special occasion its worth a visit

Los cócteles eran geniales, pero el ambiente era bastante seco y mediocre. Una pena porque el lugar parece la parte pero el ambiente y la multitud no están a la altura.

Tuvimos el placer de celebrar nuestra fiesta de bodas en el bar Anise este sábado 15 de diciembre. Como soy polaco y mi marido es italiano, decidimos tener una boda de "tradición mixta" de ambas culturas, donde tanto un buen alcohol (como mucho) es importante y la excelente y sabrosa comida es la clave. Aunque sabíamos que es muy difícil satisfacer a ambas familias, ¡Anise Bar fue una elección perfecta! Tuvimos el placer de trabajar con una increíble organizadora de eventos, Amanda, que fue muy complaciente y se aseguró de que todos nuestros pequeños y detallados deseos fueran atendidos exactamente como lo pedimos. La comida se servía exactamente a tiempo y estaba deliciosa, no sabía que era posible satisfacer el polaco italiano y polaco con la misma comida, ¡pero a nuestros invitados les encantó! El personal que trabajaba en la noche fue brillante, y tengo que decir que si no fue Giorgia y el gerente Jarek (solo para nombrar algunos), nuestra boda no habría sido tan especial y sorprendente. ¡Mi invitado y yo nos divertimos tanto que he estado recibiendo sus llamadas durante unos días con saludos y gratitud! ! Al principio, era bastante escéptico sobre la organización de la boda en Londres, pero al final, sé que tomé la decisión correcta, ¡ya que no podría haber sido mejor! ¡Muchísimas gracias al personal y a la gerencia de Anise Bar por hacer de este día uno de los mejores días de mi vida! This is a great little bar joining onto an amazing restaurant. We loved the outdoor seating and the nice Indian style they have kept throughout. However I did find the bar staff serving the outside really un-attentive and extremely slow to bring out the drinks. On one order we waited about 15 mins for a glass of wine which the waiter had forgotten to take the order to the bar. I would go back hoping the team has a better day next time.

Fi and I arrived about 1900 for pre dinner drinks and nibbles, at a family gathering - the beer was cold and the nibbles were good - tho I would have liked more, tho I think we missed the first round of nibbles as we arrived "late" " We went in for our main meal about 2100. Fi ordered a Prosecco/pomegranate cocktail - literally the two ingredients in a plain flute, no decor attached to it - not even an umbrella. Fi was disappointed. I had a Margarita, which was excellent - no hint of a Margarita mix in sight, just Triple-sec, Tequila and lime juice. Full marks. We ordered cod and chicken starters, (chicken was good tho cod was a bit mushy), followed by Biriyani's - lamb and chicken. the rice was fabulous but the meat was nothing special. Reviews have quoted the curries at the Anise as the best in London! I admit I have not been in all the curry restaurants in London, but I suspect that the Anise is not worthy of this accolade? The service was OK - nothing exceptional, competent enough. I am not resident in London so I automatically think that London prices are high

Nos encantó este lugar totalmente los asientos eran muy agradable, un gran lugar para reunirse con amigos. Las bebidas son razonables, nos cuidaron por Johnny, él fue encantador,la comida era deliciosa, pero no lo suficiente, y entonces el orden de la cocina estaba cerrada.Nos gustó mucho el ambiente de este bar no era excesivamente ruidoso ni demasiado bastante estaba bien.recomiendo encarecidamente y sin duda volveríamos

Met friends on a Thursday night at this bar quite close to Liverpool Street station. It was thirsty Thursday so some of the cocktails were only £6 each and all were delicious. The DJ was playing some great tunes and in the end we were up having a little dance and a fun evening.

Very welcoming and excellent wine list. We were looked after by Patrick, who was very attentive. I would recommend if you are in the area!

First of all let me start off with the positive before I dive into why I rated this place as terrible. We had our work Christmas Party here last night and overall it was a fabulous night because of the atmosphere - the DJ was great, really catered for everyone.

Atmosphere is good, the cocktails were OK. However the service was slow and they had to look up the recipes to make the cocktails that were on the menu. It felt a bit like a slapstick movie at times.

He trabajado al lado para un año y nunca supe que este lugar era tan increíble: 50% de descuento en aperitivos y bebidas la mayoría de las noches (que es tan delicioso) y una increíble camarera llamada Klara - ¿qué más se puede pedir. Hasta la próxima vez. . .

I have just found this amazing Anise bar. Perfectly drafted pint of stella by barback Lukas and entertaining chat with bartender Lucy made my day! I used to love this place, but recently I found a piece of glass in my drink. When I called the waiter they told me a glass was broken around. the cocktail area. That was really scary, won't return.

This is an eclectic bar which serves delicious food and reasonably priced drinks. Lovely courtyard outside where you can sit if it becomes too noisy inside. Found staff very helpful too!

We had a private party here and I cannot begin to sum up how dreadful it was.Everything from the management to the facilities were terrible. To mention a few:- sound system not working- outside guests entering a private party- guests having to hang their own coats on entry.This is NOT the place to plan your next party/event. Avoid at all costs!

A great place for a party on the weekend. We hired the place for a 30th birthday and had a great time. The drinks are pricey for a fully hired bar, but they're well made and a reasonable price compared to other places in the area. The music was really good and well suited to the crowd and the space was good to mingle and dance in equal measures. Definitely a good choice to rent for the night if you want to host an event or party.

I booked a private booth for 6 people for cocktails on a special girls week and had received 2 confirmation emails ( one the day before). We were running 5 minutes late as district and circle lines were closed and had walked for an hour , so I made a courtesy call to Anise to say we were on our way. I was told they had a private party on and we couldn't be accommodated anyway ! That was all no apology no alternative offered and we were left on the street.

Had the most brilliant birthday party, 150 guests- it was great value for money for us as we only had to reach a certain bar spend! They also set up a fantastic spread for a dinner before in the bar as well as gorgeous Moroccan themed decorations. Thank you very much!

Organised a summer party for work in the outdoor space here.Organisation was excellent and party went off without a hitch.Food was delicious, service was fantastic and everyone had a thoroughly good time - we continued in the main Anise bar afterwards

Very disappointing Having received the email invite to visit the 'Bazaar' at Anise, I booked over a month ago and specified this in the comments section, arranged with friends to trek there on a quiet Sat evening (with confirmation email the day before) only to be told on arrival Anise was shut for a private event!! We were then offered on our insistence after the manager Pravin checked my emails to see if I was indeed telling the truth that we could have 10% off the dining bill in the main restaurant. Needless to say, we declined and took our business elsewhere. I have now unsuscribed from the email list for Anise and won't be visiting again. Bookings and comments should be checked before sending confirmation and when the venue has made a mistake, an apology or a drink to reflect the effort of coming there and then having to go elsewhere is the least you would expect from a well run establishment. Perhaps more training for the manager is indicated. Dr Tarun Gupta

We stopped off for a drink in Anise after a girlie afternoon tea. My friends had been before but this was my first visit. A real cool funky place with some groovy tunes in the background as we enjoyed our drinks and nibbles. Definitely worth a visit and I will be back for sure!!

Great cocktails and staff. Had a great time with my partner for Valentines day.I would go again to this bar. Great for couples or with a couple of friends

Following from my Part 1 or 2The things I pre-ordered via email with the events planner didn't go through (as expected) ordered again at the bar!I believed some of my orders did not come through, sorted it with the manager and finally acquired it!It was more a stressful night than an enjoyable one for me. Though one of the bartenders was quite friendly and tried to help.Wouldn't come back nor recommend this place!

Was joint planner for an engagement drinks party and so got in touch with the event coordinator. The communication was ok at first, was sent photos of the bar and were 'given' the private terrace area which was nice of them to suggest.However after paying for deposit questions were not answered efficiently or at all. I like to have everything in writing so was mainly communicating via email and event coordinator would answer one question each time after a couple of days so I was constantly chasing and repeating questions. We were informed to select our food dishes before a certain date which we did but on the day the bar staff said they never received the order o_0We had to order the food again and granted it came out quick but considering we had about four tables they shouldn't have put all the food together (which by the way is very small portions) so we thought we didn't get everything. My friend and I complained at the bar and after much to-ing and fro-ing the manager gave us complimentary dishes. I don't normally go to bars or plan drinks receptions but I was disappointed to find there were no party packages (I am happy to be corrected as my party planning partner said afterwards there were so i'm hoping she wasn't aware of this whilst we were planning because that will be annoying...anyways...) The staff - I wasn't very happy with the service. I understand we had a big party of over 40 people and I really liked that we had our own private bar but one was really frosty and had a fake smile on his face every time I spoke to him, one didn't bother looking up at all when trying to get his attention, the other was ok and was helpful.The place was clean and we had a nice area so no complaints there.The cocktail and martini I had were nice. Didn't have a chance to eat the food so can't give a review on that. They allowed us to store our two cakes which we were grateful for.Post event - after checking the receipt we were overcharged by two drinks so we got in touch with them and we arranged for a refund. At first they charged the payment again but to be fair they quickly arranged for the refund - just beggar belief. Overall, gave 3 stars because I had a good time; otherwise I would have marked lower.

I am due to come to this place soon.. But right now I am organising an event here which means I am in contact with the events planner.I emailed the main and cinnamonclub contact 3 times with no response back, not even a acknowledgement of my email. So if you're planning a night out here email cinnamonkitchen.Just a FYI - no party packagesBut I was able to book a nice area for my event. After the exchange of the deposit - the tone of the conversion became very discourteous. My emails were ignored and any emails I got back were very unhelpful and brief.. drastic change from pre-deposit tone!Hoping the night out will be better..Another review (part 2 of 2) on how the night out went will come very soon.

Sharing tray of shrimp, chop, chicken breast & fish with slurp-slurp cocktail. Lovely! Great atmosphere super food and very, very good service!

We have had our Diwali drinks reception here for a few years now. The canapés are amazing while the cocktails are quite worthy a try too. Good collection of wines.

I went here with my Girlfriend on Christmas Eve, I booked a booth for us to have pre-drinks in Anise bar. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the lady at the bar 'Silvia'. We were meeting and greeted with a smile in both places. Food was delicious, great presentation. Waitress was very nice and friendly to. If you are going here, expect to pay £35/£45 per person on starters and mains - standard city prices. I do recommend this place for both romance and group bookings. Defiantly going back again.

went here for a christmas do in 2014 and whilst the service was quite poor then, we enjoyed ourselves as the bar snacks are delicious and so where the cocktails (then). not so this year. went thwre yesterday and it felt like a corporate rip-off. drinks were thin and even the martini-cocktails had so little alcohol that it felt like they were taking the mickey. long drinks are full to the rim with ice and have half a pint of carton fruit juice in them. food was good but some of the ordered items didnt turn up but still made it on the bill. Also, the music was FAR too loud for a bar venue. Not good anymore. wont go there again.

I was at Anise bar on Halloween night with a few friends. There was a good mix of people with some very imaginitive costumes. The team and Manager made a great deal of effort and I really enjoyed my night. Had great snacks and fantastic cocktails, which they always do well.

Excellent choice of cocktails with several on the menu having an Indian twist which certainly made them different and intriguing.

we used a time out voucher for this bar which is in a courtyard across the road from Liverpool St station. Although we had to choose from a limited range of cocktails all 4 were good. The bar was busy - I think most people were probably there before going through to the restaurant. The whole area was buzzing and the atmosphere was friendly

We booked an area for works leaving party on Tuesday 2nd June 2015 and were extremely happy with the way we were looked after by Nick and his team. The bar itself is well laid out and comfortably designed. All the bubbly was chilled and ready for us on arrival and the bar team made sure that our glasses were never empty. Nick, the manager, greeted us and made sure that everything we required had been catered for and if there was anything else we needed, nice touch! We had such a good time that we ended up staying all night enjoying sumptuous cocktails and a selection of naan breads that were to die for!Kind of think that we've found a regular haunt for our works parties.

We booked in for food at 5pm. Arrived sat at our table and ordered our food and drinks only to be told after about 10 minutes that the kitchen wasn't even open and wouldn't be for another hour. I dont understand why they were taking bookings for food at times they werent serving it. They seemed surprised when we said we were going to go and find food somewhere else.

Had a lovely evening here whilst we were waiting for our table in the restaurant. There's a nice vibe and the decor and lighting is fantastic. Attentive staff & great service.

I've been to this bar several times over the last 18 months and it has got progressively worse with each visit. The current bar staff are slow and ineffective albeit polite. The first time I went it was amazing, quick efficient service and fantastic tasting cocktails. When I went with friends recently it took 3 bar staff 20 minutes to debate and then make 5 drinks and even then the drinks were dreadful. The time before they had run out of so many spirits that they couldn't make any of the cocktails we ordered. It's such a shame as the decor is great and it's conveniently located near Liverpool street station. I have kept going back to make sure they weren't just having an off day but sadly it's got worse on each visit so won't be going again. Also my friends and i noticed on our last visit that the bar area was smelly like a stale dish cloth had been used to clean.

Visited the Cinnamon Kitchen just before Christmas and shared 'Abdul’s platter of tandoori kebabs' (£22.50), accompanied by a great selection of breads for starters. For mains, both my dining partner and I went for the 'King prawns ‘malai’ curry with spinach & coconut poriyal, ghee rice' (£21.00). Really good coffee to finish. Would certainly visit again.

The Friday lunchtime platter at Anise Bar is superb value at £10! You can have a meat or veggie option, and the food is superb.

We reserved a space for some drinks after work in the area outside the bar in the square. Although it feels totally outside, it is in fact covered at the very top of the buildings. The staff were very helpful in reserving the space and having some drinks lined up for when we arrived. We then ordered some food and when it arrived we were all very happy with it. I particularly liked the nan bread and the paneer covered in chili. The staff continued to check that everything was OK. The venue was very popular with the attendees, so I think we will go back and I will try out the adjoining restaurant, the cinnamon kitchen.

The Apple Pie cocktail was one of the best cocktails I have had in a long time, Amazing cocktails!! Would definitely return to try out the rest!

I like the fact that the bar is joined to the restaurant and in a great location on Devonshire Square. The cocktails are great and the music is fantastic, well worth going to and then heading on elsewhere after if you're making a night of it, or good for chilled out drinks too pre/post dinner!

I booked a table in Anise bar to celebrate my birthday - they had special packages to eat and watch the world cup match, and are located in a nice central London location, so I thought I'd give it a shot. It was a huge disappointment. The venue was empty yet the service was extremely slow. They were completely unwelcoming and rude, as if it was bothering them that someone was visiting their establishment. When the waiter brought out my birthday cake he just dumped in at the end of the table, didn't even put it in front of me, and literally said "Here's your cake, do what you want with it". I'm not sure if he was trying to be funny or just completely not bothered, but it wasn't a nice thing to do at all. I will never come back, and could not recommend to anyone to ever go to this venue.

Spent a fantastic evening here with a group of work colleagues. Delicious finger food washed down with some fantastic champagne! Looking up at the stars (and the gherkin) through the glass ceiling was cool. What made the evening stand out was the first class service of the barman who was manning the 'pop up' bar in the courtyard. He was always aware when a glass was reaching the dangerously low level, and no request was too much.Thoroughly recommended.

We came here with my friend, sat down and waited for about 10mins. All the waiters disappeared even though they saw us to come. Never for served so we left.

We visited Anise on a Tuesday evening and had an extremely warm welcome, followed by exceptional cocktails and amazing food. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable, very helpful and a delight to speak to. They really help to create a lovely environment to socialise in and I cannot recommend the bar enough.

A group of us were staying at The Andaz Hotel near Liverpool Station. Anise and Cinnamon Kitchen were suggested as great place close to the hotel. Our host (Francis) suggested we have a drink next door at Anise while we waited for our party to show at Cinnamon. He immediately got us drinks (London doesn't rival the US in speed of bar service) and appetizers.When we all moved the 20 yards to Cinnamon, we were greeted by Orlando, our waiter. He was incredibly knowledgeable and prescient about wine, appetizers, and entrees.

Great service, Ambience was great. Food especially vegetarian options were good as well. Waiters and waitresses were very reliable and was very friendly.

If you are here for the happy hour it's a great, the music is a bit hit and miss the atmosphere is the same, I’ve been a few times this year mostly to meet up with other people. It wouldn't be my venue of choice but ultimately there is nothing wrong with the bar.Food is very nice but for the price there are better places in the area or in London that I would prefer to go. The service is good and bartenders are mostly friendly and generally attentive. Good place to start an evening and move on.

Really enjoyed celebrating my Bday @ Anise recently Cocktails and nibbles were fabulous and ambiance great too!! I fully recommend this place for a good night out in the City.

I attend here often for birthdays. I have tried several different dishes from the menu and when there is not something of my preference the chef would try his best to accommodate and has made dishes requested. The chicken and yogurt is great as a starter, the portion sizes are spot on - not too much or too little. Following the starters and main you struggle with desert but you have to try them...they taste so good. The service is great and there is always someone asking if we need anything. (don't need to get a waiters attention unlike some places). The atmopshere is great and the staff are so friendly. I would certainly recommend this and would dine no doubt some time soon Have also visited bar on site on a number of occasions. Cocktails are great and when there is a special event on the bar is busy and the vibe is good. It's located directly across Liverpool st station and is tucked away in a great location.

The cocktails are amazing and even better with the happy hour deals. Staff are extremely friendly and there is a great relaxed atmosphere.

We made a reservation for Friday night. When we arrived at 10 pm more than half of the bar was empty. Anise Bar was rated as a Hot Spot in the Liverpool Street area. I don&#039;t know if Friday is less attractive for going out in London than Saturday but i wouldn&#039;t say that Anise Bar is high frequented.<br />The Service was very nice and pro-active. The cocktails were delicious and the finger food we ate excellent if you like sea food.<br />The DJ was playing exclusivly Michael Jackson song which gets a bit annoying after a few songs. For the few guests the volume was to loud that you could hardly understand your neighbour.<br />With all the bars in the city we will try another bar the next time.
