We went to eat there on a Friday evening and we were lucky to get a seat because it was quite full. The servers are relatively friendly but not very cheerful. They are very friendly with the locals but not at all warm with tourists. The food was very good, nothing to complain about. I don't eat spicy food, I had specified this and I was recommended a delicious tikka massala! On the other hand, our plates were taken away from us even though we had not finished sauceing our naan 😣. The meal ended up being expensive.

Food was Ok very quiet on a Tuesday night. The staff well I have never seen before in a restaurant were dressed so shabbily and that really did not leave a good impression.

A month after I visit here. It's the same testy good food, friendly service by the waiter, make my evening dinner wonderful. The food is amazing as always & the service is superb nothing to complain. I'm looking forward to bringing my friends over here and planning for Christmas dinner with my colleagues as well. Their food is the best in this neighbourhood.

For years Noor Jahan has been a reliable indeed delicious local takeaway. But on a recent lunch, things had deteriorated. The bhujia were tough and seemed leftover from the day before, The lamb gosht was starved of moistness and spinach. And the raita was curling rather than smooth and milky. I dont want §Chobani! , On top of it , the waiter told me the ten percent surcharge was a tax and encouraged me to tip in cash. WOW!

I was helped over dinner by a lovely gentleman with gray hair. The lamb achari was really good, with a heat and kick without being overwhelming. I had never seen it at other Indian restaurants so it was a great new experience. The vegetable samosa was well stuffed with a fluffy inside and crispy outside. The weather was great for dining outside and service was attentive without being pushy.

Lovely neighborhood plus excellent food and service. It was a recommendation from a friend and so happy we went.

Sri I been here so many times but first time at lunch last Wednesday. It was as delicious As I been enjoying last one decade. I tried Lamb Byrani and peswari Nan . Meet was So tenders and soft.great service and great Atmosphere. Very authentic Indian place In lovely parade opposite Victoria pub.

Delicious butter chicken and chicken tikka masala. The service was excellent as well, very attentive. Would recommend stopping by as it’s quite close to Hyde Park!

The service and food was amazing! Very friendly staff; the food came out quickly and tasted delicious. Plenty of different options and worth the money. Would definitely eat here again and I highly recommend. We had: prawn and lamb biriani, chicken korma, chicken jalfrazi, cheese naan and garlic naan - all were very nice!

The food was amazing like I extremely enjoyed it, but the rest was debatable… the service was interesting, the waiter didn’t smile at all and kept telling us to get the extra rice even though we kindly refused and was unhappy when we said no. I understand recommendations buts insisting this much was strange. Then when we got the bill we were unpleasantly surprised by the price, as we checked later, we ordered £87 worth of food and we got charged £100! When we asked for the itemised bill, they just gave us the receipt without the itemised bill. When we asked again, they refused. I do not recommend and I would not come again

Just FYI, on the receipt is called Shahjahan Restaurant now. The food was delicious!!! I picked vegetable samosas, the Achari Gosch lamb dish + a side of rice, and also ordered garlic naan to finish my delicious sauce! They were out of the honey dessert, but that’s okay because I was too full anyway. Until next time!!

I went here Thursday as a group and am disappointed to share I have had an upset stomach ever since. I had ordered vegetarian dishes, Chana Masala, Mushroom Karahi and Tara Daal. It’s been 3 days and I’m still suffering from the food poisoning. As for the taste, there was no spice and I need to add salt. Awful experience I will never go back.

I just had chicken kadai, nan and rice. It was very tasty, service was excellent. I’m coming back again tomorrow. A very good restaurant which serves Halal food.

Scammy! Food was excellent and service was great, HOWEVER, at the end of the meal before the check was brought to us, one of the servers/owners asked us to leave a Google review and handed us a phone to leave a review! I used my personal phone to write a review (which I am now editing). Then when the bill was brought to us, it was more expensive than anticipated ($110 USD for 3 people) AND the owner asked us how much we would like to tip, even though the service charge was already included in the bill. Clearly preying on tourists, thinking we didn’t know the service charge was already included. The meal was delicious and the service was friendly, but I would not return due to the scam-like nature of the end of the meal!

Great food and a wonderful spot. The servers were very polite and eager to fill your every request. The only thing that was better than the service was the food itself. If you are looking for something spicy I MUST recommend. If stuck on what to choose and wanting something spicy to eat I would advise the spicy chicken tikka masala. This classic dish is wonderfully done and is sweet with just the right amount of kick. 5 stars would recommend for anybody.

They placed us in a dirty and humid basement. They overcharged us and did not show a receipt with the bill. Terrible attention, if you don't feel like explaining the dishes, write in detail on the menu or better dedicate yourself to something else. Don't go to this place

The 4 of us had barely sat down that we were asked: what do you drink? My friend ordered a beer and we were still looking at the drinks menu when his beer glass was poured into his glass on the middle of the table. I then ordered a beer too and asked to keep half of the beer in the bottle to keep it cool. " No, you will need the space for your dishes" and the waiter filled the glass... I ordered duck: "No duck" (sorry?). We first had poppadoms - they were stale and had a sour taste - unacceptable in any restaurant. The rest of the food (lamb, chicken, prawns, spinach, lentils) was tasty and well prepared, I must say. Once we had finished and had paid we were immediately asked to leave "because of another booking" - in fact just 4 people waiting to be seated. Oh, yes, our friend who generously invited us was also asked for a tip! Push push push is the motto of the place. What a shame.

Attention tourist trap! Not only were we not served what we ordered, the price was not right. They cheerfully inflate the price and then ask for a tip. Never Again!

If I could rate the service zero in this restaurant I would. Extremely rude and indifferent and then pushy when it comes to the bill and wanting you to give them a tip on top of service charge. It’s a shame as we’ve been coming here a while, but today we ordered a starter and drink then decided why bother ruining our evening, and ended up booking at Bombay Palace along the road and just left before ordering mains. We won’t be coming back again for sure. Service says it all and if you really can’t be bothered then don’t complain when you start getting one star reviews like this and your business fails because.

Firrrre. Some of the best Indian food and tandoori I've ever had

If bartering for a rug in a souk in Morocco is your thing, then this is the place to take your accountant to. At the end of the meal you are presented with a wad of hand written notes in a script not seen for many a year. You decode this script and then struggle to establish whether service charges have been added. The chance of a VAT registered receipt is unlikely. It is modern day barter at its very best. The food is acceptable.

POSITIVES: Really excellent food. NEGATIVE- watch out for being stung! This is clearly systematic (see other reviews). The bill comes as a handwritten scrawl, so you can't actually see what you are paying for. The small print says that there is 12.5% service INCLUDED, but they don't tell you: instead, they say that you need to add service charge in addition. We paid, but they then claimed that three people hadn't paid and asked for more. On proving that they were wrong, they then said that the amount per person was wrong and they needed more. Another round...and then again they came back wanting three people to pay twice. So enjoy the food, but be VERY careful about the bill.

Chose this place because of previous reviews. Was seated quickly and I knew what I wanted. Let the waiter talk me into lamb chops with side of spinach & rice. Lamb was flavorful but dry and had to choke down. I got up to go to the restroom and when I got back they had cleared my table taking remaining food and beverage. At this point I wanted to get out of there so I asked for a check. The waiter brought the bill but would only show me the total. 40GBP. He told me that the tip was not included and I should give him that in cash. I will not be returning to this establishment on future visits.

My girlfriend and I got dinner here on vacation. It was the best indian food we had in the city.

Overcharged us as well as insisted on a cash tip of 15%, complete con artists, it could be a joke but alas, it is not. Very very illegal behavior of overcharging customers and not presenting a receipt. Many reviews say exactly what we experienced tonight, so how are they getting away with it? On top of which the chutney we got was half eaten and terrible quality to boot!

Great food…but the waiters like to trick tourists into paying the service charge (which is a tip added to every bill) and an additional tip. The waiters even beg sometimes making it a very uncomfortable situation. Make sure to ask to see the bill before paying.
