Food is modern and authentic. Atmosphere isn’t bad The service needs improvement. It’s a pity that we were pushed all the way from ordering drinks to desserts. We were asked to leave in 15 mins right after dessert.

The best Indian restaurant I tried in London. The food is very delicious. The flavors in every dish were wonderful and the quantity was excellent. The staff were pleasant and the service was wonderful. I highly recommend it. I have a comment about the garlic naan bread, it would have been better if the garlic and sauce had more flavor

We went for lunch to Masala Zone, our servers were really nice and helped us decide what to order. We ordered a madras chicken 65, Dahi Puri, and cheese balls for starters. The chicken 65 was my favourite. For main course we got a mangalore style chicken curry with chapattis and naan along with veg biryani. The chicken curry was amazing!! Also because we like our food spicy we asked for chopped chillies and onions on the side, which was a game changer. Will definitely come back here!

I recently ordered from Masala Zone, and I got a £17 butter chicken without a side of rice. I assumed for £17 the rice would be included, but instead I had to cook a side of rice while my butter chicken went cold. It should be more clear that the £17 covers only the stew, but not the rice.

I hadn't eaten here for a few years and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food which, in my opinion had improved. Everything was well presented and full of favour. The service was above average but they tried very hard to persuade customers to buy more food than they perhaps needed. I thought that the portions were already generous. I had the onion bhaji made from a whole large onion followed by lamb biryani and enjoyed them both. While I realise that the restaurant is located in central London I still thought the prices to be a little high, particularly since they add a 12 1/2 % service charge. A good place for groups.

The ambience here was very good. I have tried the sharing chaat platter in the piccadilly branch and loved it, and hence took my friend to this 'covent garden' branch to try the same. The only request we made was not to put the tamarind chutney in the chaats as she doesn't prefer that. But we were not given that flexibility. I am really not sure why a topping cant be avoided on customer's demand. My whole purpose of the visit wasn't met. I haven"t faced this problem in the other branches of masala zone or i could say any other fine dining restaurants in the UK. Being a foodie, we often try different cuisines and highly rated restaurants. I did give this feedback to the manager and also to the waiter while paying the final bill.

In a nutshell, don't come here if you're looking for good portions at a decent price. While the food tastes good and the staff were great/the ambience is nice, the menu is not good value. The portion size versus the price is really bad. 5 pound for a small bowl of rice is a joke. The Tikka masala was a medium sized bowl but for almost 20 pounds. I had to eat after this dinner because I wasn't full but spent almost 80 pounds here. Place just screams tourist trap

Well situated, however I found the food to be mediocre and a little bland, My Lamb Biryani was dry and had 5 small bits of lamb on it, the rice was dry and had no saffron to flavor it, so pretty bland. If you wanted something wet, like a dhal to go with it, you paid extra. Typically, dhal should come with the dish. Starters we the highlight. Overall, I would say overpriced, and more effort required. However, our Waitress was very nice, very friendly and gave great service

Easily to worst curry I have ever eaten. Stale papadam to start that was bendy and did not break into pieces?! Followed by “butter chicken” that tasted identical to Heinz tomato soup. On calling to make a complaint about how poor the food was, it took the manager nearly a year to reply to me and have the balls to say that “too much time had passed to do anything about it” after they didn’t contact me for nearly a year?!

I mean it was okay, but not quite what I expected after the hype I've heard about this place, and the prices. They couldn't alter the spice level of the dishes we ordered, so that wasn't a great start.... upon arrival the food was mediocre, but that wasn't really a surprise to me, if the chef's can't add extra spice to the dish they're cooking, that's not very encouraging. We spent a pretty decent amount of money for a lunchtime, abour £140-150... I'd never go back to any of them again. Just go to Mala in Canary Wharf, every single time I've had food there it's been 10/10. I must have had it at least 20-30 times already this year

Recently had my husband's 50th Birthday dinner at Masala zone, Covent Garden. Really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. We were given a table for 15 at the far end of the restaurant which was perfect as it was almost private. We went for the celebratory menu which was exceptional. The starters, mains and desserts were flawless. especially the prawn and chicken starters and the vegetarian bhel, samosa chaat and panipuri. The mains prawn dish and chicken dish were amazing. Vegetarian mains spread was ok. The only thing I would suggest is if the staff could have kept an eye on the guest's and asked to refill the wine glasses from time to time that would have been a fine touch. Other than that the staff was very courteous and helpful. I didn't get a chance to thank them for their service. Thank you very much for a brilliant service.

Nice decor and ambience. They did a good job of catering to dietary requirements in our group (vegetarian and dairy-free). Starters (Bhel, Samosa Chaat, Madras Chicken) were all pretty good, although on the spicier side. Funnily enough, only the lattermost had a chilli pepper sign next to it, but I found it the mildest. The curries were all just OK, not especially flavoursome, and I felt they all shared a very similar base. None were particularly spicy. Even the basmati rice and garlic naan didn't taste of much. The Raspberry kulfi was quite pleasant but got pretty sweet if you tried to finish it. I'm 90% sure the Humble Raspberry and Hibiscus mocktail was actually Robinson's summer fruits squash... There was also apparently a mouse, which I didn't personally witness but returned from the bathroom to news of. *Edited to further reduce a star given the embarrassingly generic and slightly unhinged copy-paste response from their team!*

I recently dined at Masala Zone Covent Garden and had a mixed experience. The starters were undoubtedly the highlight of the meal—flavorful, well-seasoned, and presented beautifully. However, the biryani was a letdown, lacking the authenticity and depth of flavor I was expecting. It felt more like a generic rice dish than a true biryani. On a positive note, the service was attentive and friendly, which enhanced the dining experience. Unfortunately, the prices were far too high for what was offered. While the food was good in parts, the overall experience did not justify the steep costs.

We ordered multiple dishes: Butter chicken, prawn malai, fish curry, lamb rogan josh and different typed of Naan. All of them were really good and tasty. My favourite though was the butter chicken. Balanced flavours, tender chicken and right amount of chilli made it the best butter chicken I have ever tried.

Masala Zone in Covent Garden offers an exceptional Indian dining experience. I tried several dishes, and each one was impressive in its own way. The butter chicken was the standout, with a rich, flavorful sauce that made it the best dish of the night. The vegetable and lamb biryanis were also fantastic, perfectly spiced and well-cooked. The saffron added a nice touch, and the garlic naan complemented the meal beautifully. Even the chicken wings were a pleasant surprise. Though the service wasn’t extraordinary, it didn’t detract from the overall experience. If you’re looking for authentic and delicious Indian food, Masala Zone is definitely worth a visit.

The food is really good & don't have any complaints for service or atmosphere. Only issue we had was the size of the portions. We ordered 'Sharing Grazing Selection' (£18.25 pp). On the menu it says 'Minimum 2 persons' so our understanding of it was exactly that - order for at least 2 people which would cost £36.50. When clarified with our waitress she agreed. However when the food started coming, all dishes had just 1 piece. When we called manager he said each portion (minimum for 2) would be shared between 2 people but will have only 1 piece for each dish even though the charge is £18.25 pp. So we had one aloo tikki, 1 piece of jalebi chaat (made of 1 puri & 1 jalebi) etc. shared between 2 of us. We have ordered same kind of platters in many restaurants before & it always comes with 2 pieces in each dish making it 1 piece per person. Not half a piece! This we felt was quite bad. They should either say on the menu that 'shared by 2' - not 'minimum 2' (or even maximum two - otherwise each person will have even less than half a piece).

We're visiting from NYC, and I normally don't write reviews, but making an exception given the experience. We decided to go to masala zone, after having an amazing experience at Piccadilly circus branch. Given an option, please go the Piccadilly branch vs this branch. First they made us sit at a table with dripping water(from AC), right next to a stinking restroom. The server assured us that the restroom wouldn't be operating, then opened the restroom within 5 minutes for the next customer - the seat config was such that everytime the door opened, it would hit the back of the chair. When we requested to be shifted to the table next to us(which was empty), the server told us - "it's reserved for our regulars". After speaking to manager, he immediately shifted us. We ordered two thalis with garlic naan - the garlic naan had bad flour, and we ended up puking about 2 hours later. Update : Sent the receipt about 1.5 weeks ago. No response since then. Don't care about this restaurant anymore.

Masala Zone offers a beautiful setting and a spacious restaurant, making for a pleasant dining experience. The chicken starter we had was excellent—tender, crispy, and well-seasoned. The mango lassi was also delicious. However, the naan was disappointing. The main dishes were flavorful and well-seasoned, but the dessert we tried, the "Mango Srikhand," tasted like a plain yogurt with a few pieces of fruit, which was underwhelming. Additionally, we found the prices to be quite high, spending nearly £80 for two people. There was also an issue with the advertised promotion. The menu stated "50% off small plate or dessert if the whole table has a main course each or equivalent (excluding Lunch Bowls)," but when we received the bill, they only applied the discount to one starter or dessert, despite both of us ordering main courses. This was either poorly explained or a misleading practice. Overall, while the food was generally good, the experience was marred by the expensive prices and the confusion around the promotion.

The Rajasthan, just outside Monument tube station, is in a time warp as this traditional City curry house, which unsurprisingly curries favour with Cityfolk, who tend to become increasingly raucous through the meal. Don't be fooled, this restaurant has little to do with Rajasthan, or even India. It may pretend to be Indian food but it's entirely run by Bangladeshis, so their influence in the cooking is unmistakable. For example, the curries tend to be significantly sweeter and contain more gravy and oil than traditional Indian cooking. It should also be remembered that Rajasthan may be known for its colours - but it's certainly not known for its food. But without wanting to nitpick too much, if you're with a bunch of friends, you *may* well have a good time. The staff here certainly excel at plonking down the Cobras, making sure that any diner's glass that is less than 80% full - gets topped up with alacrity. Between the six of us we tried the chicken do piaza, saag gosht, both passable - but not really traditionally Indian. I'd have to say the naans were excellent. As were the Cobras.

I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere appreciation for the exceptional dining experience my client and I had during our recent visit. The food was absolutely amazing, with each dish exceeding our expectations in both flavor and presentation. I would also like to acknowledge the excellent service provided by your hostess, Shatrubha. She was attentive, friendly, and made us feel incredibly welcome throughout the meal. Her professionalism and warm demeanor truly elevated our experience. Please extend my gratitude to your entire team for creating such a memorable evening. I look forward to dining with you again in the future and will be more than happy to recommend your restaurant to others.
