Tamarind in Northampton

Very attentive staff even though very busy. Food excellent and prompt service. Bit of a delay with last items but quickly resolved. Very good with the children too

I just finished having dinner here for my daughter’s 16th birthday and i would really highly recommend. The staff were accommodating and attentive. The food was delicious and served quickly, its also reasonably priced. There isn’t one negative thing to say about this place. They brought a sparkler and a lemon sorbet out for my daughter and it was so lovely!! The restaurant is decorated beautifully and i would definitely go again.

Was recommended the Shahi Panir Kofte and it was absolutely delicious. Excellent service and has a great overall vibe.

The food was brilliant and the staff were amazing, his recommendations were delicious and thoughtful taking into account what we liked and giving lots of options. They ended up being absolutely perfect and even though I couldn’t finish I was able to take it home in a nice bag as well.

Catching up with a friend. He uses Tamarind regularly, I’d not been for some time. There’s a carpark at the back (2 hours free, turn at the Spread Eagle pub). The restaurant was pretty busy which we both thought was great just after the festive period. We were shown to a table straight away, despite not having a booking. The food was really nice, fresh tasting and well presented. The staff were attentive but not hawking and hassling us. A very nice experience and I’ll definitely be returning soon.

If you want a good meal and friendly, excellent service and warm inviting atmosphere, then try visiting Tamarind. We went with friends last night and got exactly that. We and our friends have gone here together before on many occasions and it has always been excellent in every way. The staff are so friendly and professional, the food is fantastic and the atmosphere lovely, warm and inviting and the service has always been exceptional. Overall the Tamarind restaurant is top class in my opinion and we will continue to return again and again.

I took me and my family to the Tamarind to celebrate the new year and it was definitely the right choice as it was spectacular! We were catered to sincerely by the staff who looked after us so well and ensured we had everything we needed ☺️ We decided to order a mixed grill starter to share which was sizzling and delicious 😁 For mains, we then ordered a chicken bhuna, a genghis said, a mango chicken and some keema naans and rices to share! I must tell you these dishes were amazing and were bursting with flavour! 😊 This was definitely a great start to 2024 and would definitely recommend coming to the Tamarind! The staff are so lovely and make it an enjoyable fine-dining experience for sure! Here’s to many more visits in 2024 🥂

So, it was my first time at tamarind restaurant with a group of friends as well and I have to say, I was a bit hesitant at first because of the mixed reviews I had heard. But boy, was I pleasantly surprised! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The staff greeted us with big smiles and made us feel right at home. Despite it being a busy day, the customer service was exceptional. Our server Iqbal was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great dining experience. The food was absolutely delicious! Every dish we ordered was bursting with flavor and made with fresh ingredients. The menu had a great variety of options and the portions were generous too, offering great value for money. Overall, I had an amazing time at Tamarind Restaurant. The combination of excellent customer service, delectable food, and a good ambiance made it a memorable dining experience. I can't wait to go back again and try more of their mouthwatering dishes. Definitely one of the best Indian restaurants in my town that I have eaten from.

Still the best Indian restaurant in Northampton, food, service is great. We took my parents there this evening, they loved it!.

They booked us in but didn't have the space to accommodate us. I booked a table a week in advance for 10 people (staff meal for teachers) and got 8 seats instead (6 in reality as 2 people were just added onto the ends). They stuck 3 makeshift single tables of different heights together towards the back, next to the kitchen door of the restaurant so it was difficult for people and waiters to get past. When I complained the owner made all sorts of excuses and tried to convince me I had asked for 8 (even though we were really given 6 and we were squeezed into a space that shouldn't have been used to seat customers). I did book for 10, with at least 6 people who can verify this (he didn't want to listen to them either). After gaslighting me he then gave me what he thought was a solution - two people could sit at the front by themselves (for a work party!) and then made me feel like I was being unreasonable when I said this was not an acceptable solution. If it had been just me I would have left but it had taken a lot of organising to get everyone there and it was unlikely we would find somewhere else, so we stayed. Sadly our mood and night was ruined. We ordered the minimum, ate quickly and left disappointed. We will not be returning.

Dined at Tamarind while visiting some University friends in Northampton. Once we arrived at Tamarind we were greeted by one of the waiters who made us feel very welcome. I was really impressed how Tamarind looked aesthetically. We sat down next to a glassed water feature which was something I’ve never seen before and it gave off a really warm and cosy feeling. All the waiters were extremely helpful. We had our drinks order in no time and were very helpful to me when I asked about my preference of curry. I opted for the chicken hariyo khursani and it honestly did not disappoint. It had the perfect blend of flavour and spice. The naans were packed with keema and cheese, just how i like it. Above all, the service was exceptional. I was able to have friendly conversations with the waiters and they checked up on us to see if everything was okay and If we need any refills on drinks. The experience at Tamarind is one I will not forget and it will be number 1 on my list whenever I visit Northampton.

After an extensive search and trying other places to eat in Northampton, we found this place and decided to try it. We were not disappointed! The atmosphere was great and the staff was really welcoming. The food is really amazing: we ordered Mango Chicken and Genghis Said. It was by far the best meal we have had in the UK on our trip! What can I say? Time and time I keep coming and the staff are ever so LOVELY! always recognise me and have me seated promptly as I am a regular, if it is a busy night, I wait at the bar but the staff is so attentive they ask if I’d like a drink whilst waiting.
