Kingsthorpe spice in Northampton

Oh my goodness. I had a set meal for one and as usual it did not disappoint. I had chicken tikka starter, then chicken bhuna, pilau rice, 3 dips, 3 poppadums, a naan bread and a vegetable curry. It was all so delicious and probably enough food to feed 3 people, but I'm not complaining! Everything arrived in plenty of time and was hot. There's also plenty left over for tomorrow. What's most amazing is their consistency. I don't have takeaway food very often but when I order from Kingsthorpe Spice it is always top notch. I'm so impressed, I'm not surprised that it's award winning!!

This is the best place in Northampton. The food is amazing and the staff are even better, very friendly and welcoming. I could not recommend this place any more. The awards they have won speak for them self's! If you haven't already been here you are missing out! You will not regret it. Big portions amazing flavourful food. Do your self a favour and try the flavour!

The best I've discovered in a long long time. They boldly display their incredible awards board, and having been used to decades of stunning restaurants in Leicester( some of the best in the world), I have been deeply impressed, plus they are such a bunch of friendly people, and delivery times are lightning. Can't recommend highly enough.

I had a wonderful experience at Kingsthorpe spice, where the family atmosphere truly stands out. The staff are incredibly welcoming and treat everyone like part of their own family. The attention to detail and genuine care for customers really sets this place apart. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a friendly and inviting atmosphere. amazing food and reasonable prices. Got the tikka biriyani, keema naans, chips, lamb chop starter and onion bhaji's. Arrived on time and was superb.

Meals were lovely however the veg samosa and onion bhaji were poor value for money.

Worst curry ever! I was deciding between a subway and the curry as a first timer I thought I’d grab a curry but what an absolute disaster. Vile utter vile. Straight out to the dog

Ordered a selection of starters and sides. Chicken pakora wasn’t quite as expected - more like a breaded chicken nugget than a pakora. Lamb was pretty tough and mostly inedible. Tarka Daal, veg samosas, onion bhaajis, chilli paneer etc were all great. A small blip in an otherwise consistently excellent run overs the years.

Superb food!!! And generous portion sizes. highly reccomend the Murgh Bahar, really fresh, full of flavour, and great value for money.

Had a superb takeaway tonight. Chicken Balti madras/vindaloo was stunning. I had onion baji starter, vegetable rice and a garlic naan. Can’t recommend enough 👍👍.

The chicken in the chicken tikka masala was dry and tough not nice at all. Won’t be having that again

Food was very late and food was lukewarm and rice was missing .. I rang and rice did get here quickly.. tried to keep to local business but unfortunately was a mistake

Delivered late, had to call and had not been even sent out. When food got here it was cold, lamb wasn’t tikka and tougher than my grandads boots.

The food arrived at 19.15 but wasn't due until 19.45 I always worry about the quality when the order arrives nearly 30 minutes early but to be honest everything was OK. I can honestly say it's not the best Indian takeaway I've had but it would be in my top 5. The keema nan was probably the best I've ever had from a takeaway but the curry could have been better.

Not used Kingsthorpe Spice before, found the food to be good and more than enough, overall very tasty. Good to see the food being prepared too, will be going back

Cracking food will defo order again

I have used this place from time to time since about 2007. The familiar staff are very pleasant and professional, they take pride in their cuisine, it is an 'open' kitchen so you can see what they are doing and how hygienic the premise is, the range of food and is preparation is top notch, portions are good. Prices are about standard for such an establishment but the quality is what stands out.

We ordered dinner for six, to be delivered at 3.00pm Christmas day. We were helped with ordering especially because we were ordering for vegetarians and vegans too. It arrived exactly on time, was absolutely delicious and we all really enjoyed it. There was plenty of it so we all had Indian food for Boxing Day dinner too. Our thanks to all the staff for making our Christmas dinner so special.

Excellent tasty food - Vegetarian options tried, and we had a good variety of vegetables in all the dishes (unlike some other takeaways that bulk with large chunks of potato). Quick delivery exceeded time advised. Very friendly and accommodating - even gave 10% off the order, and there were extras when we opened the bag. Definitely recommend.

Missing the pilau rice which was a share dishfor the Korma and Tikka plus we had a keema nan and not a cheese and garlic nan as ordered.

Great first experience of Kingsthorpe Spice - had heard good things so decided to check it out. Ordered online and got delivery pretty quickly, considering it's a Saturday night. We had the chicken xacuti, saag paneer, tarka dhal, pilau rice, peshwari naan and meat samosas. Got a couple of free poppadoms which was great. All the food was really tasty and fresh - 100% recommend

Treated myself to a curry while at work, but unfortunately it was too spicy (even though I've had the same dish from elsewhere) I could barely eat any. I spoke to the manager and he was fantastic, offered me a free meal the next day & explained they added extra spice due to the water that comes out of the prawns. He customer service was amazing.

2 1/2 late! Food cold and wrong items delivered. Not ordering from them again.

Wonderful food smashing taste and plenty….early delivery can not fault this shop.

Really impressed with this order. Our usual Indian has closed down so we have had to find somewhere new. Food came really quickly, and was piping hot. We had korma, naan, onion bhaji and poppadoms and all were delicious. The only downside is that the order was quite expensive, but I understand that prices have increased. Would definitely order from here again.

First time ordering from the restaurant. All of us were impressed, kids loved it too. Great customer service, lovely staff. The food was plenty, flavourful and you could even customise your food if you wanted. Very quick service, food was hot as well. The naan bread is the best we have ever tried in Northampton. This will definitely be our go to restaurant for Indian food in the future. I’m so glad we found it.

The Thu/Sun specials are stunningly good value for £13.95. 4 generous items that are a complete meal for 2, or a massive feast for 1.

Can't recommend these guys enough, moved to Northampton a couple of years ago and tried a few places before finding these. Super helpful for allergies as well, no nuts used and only coconut powders. Super friendly, helpful and ridiculously fast delivery!

Regular customer every week or other week, and the food is always flawless and freshly cooked. The service is exceptional, and they are personable with every customer delivering a unique and brilliant experience. I cannot recommend this place enough!!

Hadn’t had the opportunity / need to order a take away in a while. Absolutely awesome food. Flavours were brilliant and delivery was pleasantly faster than advertised. Reminded me what made me keep coming back :)

Delivery driver gave us someone else’s food!! However after speaking to the restaurant a lovely man said they were sorry and would be sending out fresh food and a driver would collecting the incorrect food. Great service from the restaurant and when the right order did arrive it was delicious as always.

The food was good but I was missing the bottle I ordered. I’m currently just out of hospital surgery so can’t go to the shop. I called and asked for it to be sent to me as I paid. I was told not to order from them again if I’m going to make them deliver it. And it’s never been delivered or refunded. So the food made be good but you get ripped off.

Order was late despite putting directions on the notes. Because of this food was lukewarm,paratha rubbery and inedible and popadoms soft. Disappointed.

Shocking food tonight sorry to who owns this business but food was shocking quality and taste isn’t the same! Starters were okay but not as tasty as before and the mains we barely touched! Thought we’d order here as it used to be good but sorry but this will be the last! Very dissatisfied.

Excellent menu Excellent service and you can watch your food being cooked. Excellent authentic taste they will make it milder or hotter for you . Excellent service both in house or delivery.

Generally good food, well balanced spices. But I made the mistake of ordering lamb delight. It was from the specials section of the mains but you could easily have it as a dessert as what I got was some lamb in what seemed like some cream based sauce with a whole lot of pineapple in it. And it lacked any hint of spice, the very selling point of this take away.
