Tamalada in Charnwood

We wanted something different and we got it. Delicious food - I had the XimXim which was rich and creamy with a medium warmth to it. Our food was well presented and the staff friendly and polite. I would highly recommend a visit.

We have had numerous takeaways from Tamalada since we moved into the area and every one without exception has been fantastic. Delivered on time, piping hot and superb quality. Each dish is unique, packed full of super tasty ingredients, decent sized portions and loads of choice on the menu catering for every taste and dietary requirement. Cannot recommend this place highly enough. First class.

We had booked to go somewhere else but passed Tamalada, and were both impressed by how good it looked. We cancelled our other booking, turned around, and went back to Tamalada. On arrival we were warmly greeted. Both members of front of house staff were friendly and polite. We were seated promptly and given our menus. A bottle of water and two glasses were brought to the table and we were asked if we would like any drinks. When our drinks arrived I couldn't help but notice how immaculate the glasses were, and then I noticed the silver-wear and these also were immaculate. The restaurant not only looks fantastic but its clearly being looked after to a very high standard. Our food order was taken, and, literally "wow". The food was incredible. We both tried a little of each of our starters and mains as they were just amazing. Whilst we were there the restaurant got busier, but at no time did it feel too busy, or too noisy, our food and drinks arrived in good times, not too quickly, so we didn't feel rushed, and not too slowly so you were left wondering what happened. Considering this was a chance occasion I can honestly say it was a fantastic experience, and we will absolutely return again soon. A big thank you to the front-of house staff who looked after us, and, to whoever did that fantastic work in the kitchen, the food was amazing.

Visited here mid week for a casual meal with friends. Menus were given quite quickly, drinks order taken. Took a while for the drinks to arrive. Food order taken We order the 3 plate for £20 to share as starters. Nice sized portions. Halloumi, wraps and jambalaya which had a lot of heat in it. Then we had xim xim, friend ate this I am glad I order the burrito as the xim xim was too sweet for me. The restaurant itself was clean and tidy and decorated nicely. There was no urgency so if your looking for a relaxed place this would suit you.

We have had a few take aways delivered from here and always been pleased. Ate in the restaurant, really peaceful atmosphere. Vegan options were good. Chicken fajita and burrito both great. Nachos lovely. Chicken quesadillas and tacos good, preferred the taco, would order a side with the taco but quesadillas with nachos was enough.

Rocking venue, great staff, flexible management (we were 'delayed' in nearby pub for over an hour late for booked table of 6!) and solid, authentic, food. Reasonably priced too in this day and age. Clearly appreciated by local regulars! Unlike my headache!!
