Have eaten here a few times over the years. Always very friendly service. Food has always been good value with good portion size too. Could be improved with menus on tables instead of having to look at the boards behind the counter to choose what to eat.

Stopped in here by chance, walked past and viewed the all day breakfast sign, that caught our attention. Went in and ordered two breakfasts, one with tea, the other with a latte. Food and drinks were hot and very tasty.

Absolutely fantastic food here. Giant baked potatoes and very decent coffee. It's great to see local independent places still thriving. It's well supported by the locals

I go to Leicester from time to time and in my last visit I ate their lovely vegetarian ravioli three times in a raw! I am Italian and happy I don't have to go all the way down if I fancy eating good pasta. And what a tomato sauce!!!

Nice place . Friendly staff . Quick service and pot of tea was nice and hot too . Breakfast was grim sadly . Sausages -deep fried and one was pink in the middle . Bacon-rock hard and inedible . Beans -cheap and devoid of any sauce . Tomatoes -tinned, nice . Mushrooms -slimy. Egg-slippery with grease . Toast-not served separately and was soggy and soft . Not great at all. No check back from staff after serving and I left most of it . Shame .

This cafe had a fan during the heat wave which we managed to get a table right next to so the cafe felt lovely and cool. The breakfast was good, egg slightly too well done but otherwise lovely.

First time visiting this cafe. Really nice layout and decor inside. Very friendly staff too. Ordered at the counter and had a window seat in part of the shop that used to be a separate shop (where I worked) over 20yrs ago. Not sure if our order had been forgotten by the waitress (as other tables were being served that had ordered after us), but after a glance over to our table from the man who had taken our order our drinks arrived swiftly. The hot chocolates were wonderful with a dish of marshmallows on the side. Our sandwiches came with a bowl of crisps - all very tasty. A very nice cafe with reasonable prices to boot.

There’s been track and trace here since re-opening, hand sanitiser at the entrance, tables are more than 1 metre apart. Tables are cleared and cleaned after each sitting. Only issue is some customers move chairs and tables at will outside, ignoring social distancing! This is a great established cafe with all the will to create a safe visit. Will definitely be coming back.

Where do I start with what used to be a great little cafe, how this place has gone down hill. Arrived to no Track & Trace form, no hand sanitiser and table layout inside that at no time maintains social distancing of 1 metre. No floor arrows for guidance or direction and food that has been placed on the track and trace table that everyone is walking past. They are not giving out menus on an individual basis that can be used as a place Matt and disposed of afterwards, so they say that each of your party have to go inside to pass all the tables of people eating to view the menu and decide. Who ever has made the decisions for safety in this place is clearly backward or very inexperienced. If you are conscious of Covid and want to stay safe avoid this place at all costs. They should be shut down on public health grounds. Won’t be visiting again !!!!!!

Ordered a flat white and what I got was a very weak latte (closer to warm milk than coffee). A flat white should have 2 shots of coffee, not 1. It should also have less milk than a latte. Needless to say, my ‘coffee’ ended up in the bin

On our first visit to the continental we sat outside, next to busy road with lots of traffic passing by, but the sun was shining and the coffee was good, next visit was for breakfast, we sat inside in window with a view onto the street, we where met with a warm greeting and orders taken, didn't have to wait long before food was at the table, as good a breakfast as you could ask, highly recomend, but one criticism, food is put on top of toast, toast should not be soggy, ask for it separate,

The waiters and who i believe to be the manager 'Paul' were the most friendly i've come across so far in Syston having moved here in May of 2018. The waiters were friendly and it seems there were students earning money, now while most young students may not put it a good job theye youths were very helpful and welcoming. The breakfast i had was nothing short of perfect and i am sure to visit again. Bacon, sausage, egg, beans, tomato, mushroom, fried bread and all the works.

I visited the cafe for a bit of peace and a coffee on my own (yes - I have a family but also happy with my own company for an hour sometimes...deal with it!) and it was such a pleasant surprise! I sat on the comfy sofa in the new bit round the corner from the till and it's tucked away and peaceful. I had a lovely coffee and surfed the news on my iPad (they have free wifi). The staff were very friendly and didn't rush me away even though all I had was a coffee. I'd definitely give the food a try next time as I saw some people stopping for a bite to eat and it looked very nice! The place is clean, friendly and cosy and it serves good coffee. There is a sign outside this place that proudly states ‘We Make Great Coffee’: it encouraged us in but it’s a hollow boast – but more of that in a moment. Our paninis were fine, but pretty titchy for the money (high-end big city prices in a small satellite town?) and the small ramekin of salad could’ve done with some of that new-fangled dressing stuff you may have heard of. Now for the ‘great’ coffee: I suppose I can’t really comment because our lattes didn’t appear to have any actual coffee in them. Also, the milk appeared to be skimmed, as well as boiled (we didn’t order skinny lattes….or coffee-less lattes for that matter). To be fair, I think I did detect a miniscule essence of coffee right at the bottom of the milk, but it turned out to be stray grounds.Being someone who knows a little about ‘great’ coffee, I’m guessing that whichever berk made our lattes didn’t put fresh coffee in the portafilter basket and simply ran thru some old stuff instead. Not only did they fail to notice this glaring error and start again, they then proceeded to mercilessly pulverise the milk with steam and glibly pour insult onto injury. Then they had the audacity to actually serve these insipid, coffee and froth-free monstrosities to paying customers!I suppose we should’ve just took them back and complained, but the place was busy (lord knows why) and well, if they allow rubbish like that to be served then you don’t know what reaction you’ll get. So we just ate our little paninis and naked salad (it didn’t take long), drank our watery hot milk and left (15 quid lighter).Expensive and slapdash – go elsewhere.

Possibly the best latte I have had in Leicestershire (up to this date of course), I don't know how they do it...especially as I'm borderline addicted to the things If you get a chance try the vanilla latte and let it cool slightly. Worth every penny. The foods decent as well and the premises is very quirky but unique.

A group of us booked for lunch and ordered in advance. The staff were very pleasant and helpful , service was good as was the food with a choice of portion size for some dishes. My meal was missing peas but this was quickly rectified. The cakes looked delicate and tyere was one desert and ice-cream om offer yoo. The tea rooms are warm which was good as the weather outside was awful. There is outside seating for good weather days. There are a few charity shops on site and walks in the grounds, weather permitting and a model railway open on Wednesdays and Fridays. Definitely worth a visit.
