This pub no longer serves food even though they advertise they do. Beer is excellent. Garden seating overlooking the river is very relaxing and tranquil.

Lovely 17th Century Pub that backs onto the river soar, with great selection of ales, lagers and ciders.. Castle Rock Harvest Pale was good as always, then tried their always good guest goldon ale too. Theakstons on as usual and the guest Camden Hells been on for a while but always served fresh and cool👌 place was busy with friendly locals and their dogs.. lovely friendly staff who are always happy to talk and are very knowledgeable about their ales and fine array of bar snacks.

Great atmosphere and very busy and popular for the locals who live nearby also dog friendly ( treats for your four legged freind are at the bar).

Characterful village pub with a garden backing onto the river soar. 5 Excellent cask ales frm both local and national brewers on offer at the time of my visit.

Very locals pub. Sat at a table for a couple of hours for drinks and whilst sat there a reserved sign was placed on it. Didn't ask if we were planning to stay longer. Not very friendly bar staff

visited the swan lnn with my wife and sonand daughter-inlaw and my assistance dog. the swan has a fine selection of real ales,and a warm, cosy and welcoming atmosphere, spotlessly clean throughout, also very dog friendly. the landlord is a great guy he, he has is own micro-brewery on site and crafts some fine real ales. Yes the swan is a truly 5 star proper village pub, a excellent asset for local people and visiters alike. give a try.

Such a cute traditional English pub, great selection of gins including titantic plum gin ( you must try it!! ). Not eaten in here but the food looks lovely from what I’ve seen. Highly recommend.

Great food, great beer. Tried the Old John from Soar Brewery. Had to have another one, beautiful taste! Came back, another couple of pints of Old John. Consistently very very good!

In the sunshine, in the garden, good beer...what's not to like?

Excellent selection of real ales, good choice of wines, and spirits. The building is over 300 years old and the current owners have been mindful not to rip its guts out and chalk paint everything. Lovely original features, gorgeous garden with the river at the bottom. Food is pub snacks, cobs, sausage rolls, and yummy local pork pies and scotch eggs. Regular monthly themed Bistro nights. Staff are friendly, and knowledgeable of their products. Love, love, love this local pub and very lucky to live so near to it. Use your locals while we still have some great ones left!!!

I love this pub so much - the garden is so pretty and the staff are awesome. so pleased its my local! Food also a step up from regular pub food. DELICIOUS. cant wait to spend my summer under the weeping willow with a pint and some chips!

Absolutely delicious takeaway food during lockdown, especially the vegan kebab! Decent price for beer too. We'll definitely be back, hopefully to sit in soon.

Well aren't we dirty stop outs till 8pm 😂was a really nice evening at the Swan nice to have a bit of normality it looks absolutely brilliant what Danny and Helen have done with the outside space .And the gates look good finally 😂.

Only stayed for one drink so not a comprehensive review, but from our time spent there we found it a cosy, welcoming pub and a quick look at the menu suggests it will be well worth revisiting.

It's been 2 years since last been in because we moved over side of Leicester but it's still as good as it used to be, beer kept well and great bar snacks! And friendly staff, We will be making more of an effort to go back!

Lovely pub, well set out for social distance, felt very safe and relaxed

An absolutely beautiful evening had by the whole family. Food was excellent, high quality and presented beautifully. I had fish cake as a starter, pan poached chicken for a main and the fruit crumble for dessert, I enjoyed every bit of it! Other family members enjoyed tandoori chicken salad, steak and chips and orange chocolate brownie. The staff were lovely and we all felt very safe while there. We will definitely be going again.

We had a wonderful three course meal last night . Gazpacho soup to start vege not chicken and vegetable pie and cheesecake. Menu on the face book page.Pie was absolutely gorgeous and probably the most enjoyed vege dinner I've had out for years. Would love to see it in the Sunday lunch menu one day . I'm so pleased this pub has survived lock down it's great to be back. Get a table booked for dinner it's consistently better than the grub in some of the surrounding villages.

Great food and great selection of ales

Tonight we went for fish and chips and our 7 year old had a burger. The food was delicious!Homemade chips were devine and the fish was cooked perfectly! I normally don't like batter but this was amazing and we will be going back soon for fish and chips!

Don't order the scampi. It comes in a basket filled out with paper to make it look fuller than it is, and the chips are a small portion, on a wooden board. Really just avoid the food, it is expensive and you'll still be hungry afterwards. The pub itself is pleasant if you avoid the evenings where it can get noisy. It could be a great pub if they sorted the food issue out and made sure rowdy people understood that it isn't acceptable.

Really welcoming pub in this delightful village, midway between Charnwood Forest and North Leicester city. Friendly clientele and no tumbleweed moment as strangers like us walked through the door on a quiet Monday night. Excellent curry night when we visited recently with a choice of three different recipes, inc a vegetarian, Thai Green Curry and Cambodian chicken for £9.95The owner could not have been more hospitable which coupled with his well kept range of real ales, continental lagers and ciders made for a mighty fine start to the week. Well done!

Tomato and basil soup to start . Fantastic roast with the best roast potatoes I have ever had including my own !! . Chocolate brownie and caramel ice cream . Delicious .

My partner and I visited recently for a some Friday night dinner. The menu was simple minded but full of choice, with a specials menu on the side. V, GF, Vegan being catered for. The scampi and chips were delicious (from the special menu), and the goats cheese man n cheese was the most moorish I’ve had in ages. There’s no pretence with this pub, just a traditional pub with a selection of beers and ales on tap, a cosy atmosphere and great quality and heartwarming food.

An old historic inn located in the centre of the village with a small car park to the rear through the coaching arch in the building, Nice characterful interior with original features serving a reasonable range of well kept beers and ciders including a few real ales.The food menu has a good range of typical pub dishes plus sandwiches. Food quality was very good with nice presentation and decent portion sizes.Service on Saturday lunch time was a little slow for our large group, but was well organised and friendly. Prices are pretty good considering the food and surroundings. There is a delightful beer garden overlooking the river beyond the car park.
