My sister and I had a potter around Charlestown this morning and called into the Tallships Creamery on our way back to the car. What a lovely, quirky little place this is. We chose a cheese and onion pasty and a slice of chocolate fudge cake to share. What can I say, the pasty was absolutely lovely. The combination of the cheese with the flaky pastry was absolutely yummy and the chocolate fudge cake was gorgeous. Definitely a place I would go to again.

Been coming here for some time and the staff are always so welcoming and helpful, they make the best pasties around and hot drinks are yummy too. Love the new pods as well for covered seating, this place is a real asset to Charlestown’s locals.

My friends and I meet every week at Tall ships Creamery and have done for a few years now. I have quite bad social anxiety and actually don't leave my house very often. But Tall Ships is such a friendly place and my friends and I always feel very relaxed there. We usually have three dogs with us, so with it being an outdoor venue it's great for them and they're made to feel very welcome as well. Over the years we've sampled cakes and pasties and they've always been top notch. The staff are friendly and kind and are a big part of the reason why we return every week. With the addition of two wooden pods with a sea view, these provide a cozy feel if the weather is less than ideal. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this lovely venue to friends or tourists. Hot food, cakes, ice-cream, hot and cold drinks - there's something for everyone. My friend's daughter sometimes joins us in school holidays and she always has the waffles which she loves. If you want a family friendly place look no further than Tall Ships Creamery.

We decided to visit on Monday afternoon for a chilled afternoon experience. I ordered a waffle with vanilla ice-cream and was shocked at the price !! 12.50 for a waffle im not sure wether the man did it wrong or it was realistically that price but the waffle was undercooked to the point i asked for a remake! The staff seemed very stressed and did not look as if they knew what they were doing… when the second waffle came out it was burnt but not just where its a little crunchy it had black engravings onto the waffle!! This should not be sent out as this reflects onto the look of the business and their work ethic. It was very cold in the cafe and was not inviting. There is a much nicer ice-cream/ desert place just a couple mins walk from the creamery and was much nicer! I dont know how they will handle the pressure in the summer of customers and Im sure I’m not going to be the only bad review… 0/10! Do not recommend what so ever. I wish i spent my money on a McFlurry much nicer and cheaper!!!

I am utterly appalled with by this small business I went here with my 4 year old son and he just wanted a waffle on his birthday. when our waffles and my coffee came out may son pointed out hairs in the ice cream on top of it and my coffee the milk was curdled and gone off. I am disgusted by the lack of hygiene and I didn't witness the staff member wash their hands after washing their hand. the service was appalling as I had to wait in the rain as she rudely shouted out my number and rolled her eyes and coffed onto my food as she walked away. this truly did ruin my sons birthday and my experience with Tall Ships Creamery.

We spent the week at Pentewan Sands, where Tall Ships have an ice cream van/trailer. They are very reasonably priced, especially for the quality and taste. They have a huge selection of cones and lots of different flavours. They do some vegan ones too. We tried most flavours during the week and not a single one disappointed, they were all absolutely delicious! My favourites had to be the pineapple ice cream and also the cream tea ice cream which had actual pieces of scone in! We ran out of time to visit the Charlestown site but will definitely be back again soon.

Location is nice, food overall was very nice however I didn't give it 5 stars due to management issues. They ran out of pasties and bread rolls, the waiting times for food was considerable and we ordered a millionaire waffle that was caramel sauces and salted caramel ice cream but on collection I said that's not the right ice cream to which she said they ran out so I had to have chocolate and proceeded to look at me as if I shouldn't have an issue and take it, not great but luckily I don't mind that flavor. Overall a good place for a snack

Popped in for ice cream. Partner has a dairy allergy - so she was taken with the sorbet. Lady was superb and understanding - even cleaning the scoop when changing flavours. I had 2 flavours of ice cream. The flavours of both the ice cream and sorbets were absolutely out of this world - fresh, distinctive, clear and balanced. Prices were about what you’d expect from handmade produce. Can’t wait to try the fudges when I eventually get home. Don’t miss this wonderful place if you’re in Charlestown - I won’t when I return!

I went on to the Tall Ships Creamery website in June and noted that it advertised ice cream for sale for special occasions, so I sent them an email asking to buy some. No reply. Fast forward to today. I was passing, so popped in to see if I could pick up a tub for this weekend. I spoke to the bloke in there who said he remembered my email (but didn’t reply) and that they didn’t sell in bulk. I pointed out that the website said they did and was told the website had been out of date for ages. Rubbish.

While on our way back from dinner in Charleston’s historic harbor area, we stumbled upon a local gourmet ice cream cottage. From our first sample tasting, we were hooked. The award-winning elder flower and elderberry ice cream was bursting with floral essence. Our next tasting was Black beards blackcurrant. While the combination was not quite as exotic, the flavors were just as impressive. The intense fruit flavors seem fresh off the vine. Perfectly blended with rich Cornish cream. We ordered a two-scoop cup and took a seat at one of the convenient picnic tables. As we were enjoying our ice cream, we were fortunate to strike up a conversation with the owner and founder Victoria. She graciously invited us to sample a few more of her signature flavors which were all amazing. Her ice creams use all natural ingredients and up to half the sugar of most ice creams. Instead, she incorporates more of the natural sweetness of the ingredients, which also intensifies the flavors. For anyone visiting the Charleston area, Tall Ships creamery is a must!

A quiet little cafe with outside seating. We made a few visits during our week stay in Charlestown. The range of ice cream flavours is amazing. It was difficult to decide which to try first. I have visited TSC many times, cream tea, ice cream and pasty. Being Cornish i have tasted many pasties and indulged in jam and cream. I have also had the salted caramel, vanilla and in the past rose ice cream, all of which tasted delicious and quite obvious only quality ingredients used. I have had a steak pasty, which was tasty and again you could recognise that quality ingredients were used. The cream tea, was delicious with a moist, homemade scone. Ive also had the beetroot and chocolate cake (last year) which I thoroughly enjoyed. I think it’s apparent that I really enjoy TSC food coupled with excellent service, top marks. See you again soon.

We had 2 coffees and 2 scones last week The scones looked very nice but were sadly heated in the microwave and were very stodgy and not pleasant.. We were surprised to have them served in 2 quite substantial plasticised card boxes which, considering we were sitting at a table right in front of the servery, seemed very wasteful and over the top. We were then shocked to be told that none of cups boxes etc were recyclable and that recyclable ones were too expensive. We are horrified at the thought of how much waste will be generated during the course of the summer. Is it not possibly to use plates? Even paper ones would be an improvement. Maybe then our coffee break would not have cost £12.50.

Visited here following a lovely visit to Charlestown, which is a wonderful and interesting place to visit. We stopped here for coffee and a sit down in the sunshine, which was pleasant enough and a personable young man served us at the counter. What was very concerning, was that we sat and watched a few tables come and go, and not once did anybody come out and clean down any tables in between customers. Working in the hospitality industry in normal times, this should be a standard thing, but during this pandemic, it is an absolute must. Felt uncomfortable thereafter as to how clean our chosen table was. Pity, as it appeared a nice place.

Fantastic little cafe just above the harbour in Charlestown, Cornwall. If you are a Poldark fan, you'll recognise the location instantly, as my wife and mother both did. This truly delightful gem served us 3 cream teas (ok, two coffees and one cloudy apple juice) and their homemade scones and locally sourced clotted cream and jam (NO! I'm not even gonna go NEAR in which order they are placed on the scone, or even if butter should ALSO be included!) and they were fantabulous (and, surprisingly, very good value for money! The gentleman running (and working) the Café and his waitress were very engaging and a pleasure to talk to.I'd heartily recommend a visit if you are anywhere near, even if you're visiting Eden Project, it's worth the drive to here. Quick tip though, don't pay for more than 2 hours in the pay and display carparks, you'll be done (the harbour etc is tiny) within this time frame, even if you walk very slowly and/or take LOADS of piccies!

2 cream teas - homemade scones (I would have liked a savoury tea but they had all gone) Well presented and very pleasant to sit on the benches watching the world go bye

Very nice ice cream. Not too expensive and a cone only added an extra 5p to the cost. Good choice and some Poldark gifts on sale as well as traditional sweets etc. Cute place.

Stopped for drinks towards the end of our day out. Fantastic service, very friendly young lady served us. Bought some takeaway pasties for our tea, and they were delicious. Would definitely recommend you stop and enjoy their lovely pasties. Will try the ice cream next time.

While on a flying visit of my home county of Cornwall I thought I would pop into Charlestown for a spot of afternoon tea. I really didn’t expect this to prompt the creation of a tripadvisor account. Leaving the food and service aside for a second, if you seriously think you can sell third rate food by stitting heavily on poldarks coat tales you are sorely mistaken. Once I looked past Aiden turners visage I was met by a thoroughly disinterested young male sifting through the contents of his phone. Thus follow a tepid coffee and a rather sad ice cream. Such a shame for a spot with such retail potential. To think even a chain such as costa would have offered more.

We can't recommend Tall Ships Creamery ice-cream enough, words don't do it justice and it has to be tasted to be believed! Knowing we were visiting Cornwall for a couple of days recently, I contacted Victoria to ask if my favourite flavour (pear and ginger) would be in stock at that time. Such a treasure, she made sure it was available that week! So after a five hour drive our first stop in Cornwall is to Tall Ships Creamery for our fill of delicious ices, it's always our last port of call before we set off back up country too! I can't think of anything nicer than a delicious ice-cream served in a beautiful country coastal setting, in fact it's so lovely the actual experience seems quite surreal. TSC have ruined me though, i rarely eat ice-cream elsewhere as it just can't measure up. The pear and ginger is to die for and the coffee is a very close second!

The staff are so friendly and helpful, they assisted me when I had a transport problem and needed a taxi number urgently. The café which is situated close to the museum was in its previous life a weighbridge, the seating is all outside, formed of benches but it all adds to the atmosphere of being in the heritage port. The Cornish pasty we had was one of the best I have ever tasted. The building where you can purchase sweets, ice cream etc is just a few yards from the café.

Let’s face it, it’s hard to go wrong with ice cream. This place didn’t go wrong so 5* it is. Locally produced ice cream and a friendly guy serving - although he always seems to be off hiding somewhere when I go in there. Many a time I’ve been tempted to make my own cone. I think I might try next time now I’ve given him 5*

Sat here waiting for the disappointing canon... But the coffee was superb, so much so, I had to find a shop nearby selling the beans!

Absolutely wonderful visit. The cream tea was the best I think I’ve ever had. Warm scones, huge pot of cream and delicious jam, must be homemade. The tea was piping hot and came with an additional tea bag should you like it strong.

Great little cafe (presumably a Longstore offshoot, as it’s attached). A small number of tables inside and more outside. Nice seaside blue and white vibe. We had tea, cappuccino and two sourdough toasties with roasted mushrooms, tomatoes, Emmental cheese and truffle mayo - with a refreshing but hot chilli and carrot salad in the side. £13 per head paid for very good quality. Food and drink was great and service fast and friendly. Other customers had young children and dog with them. Would recommend for sure.
