During my visit, I had an unpleasant interaction with one of the waitstaff members. The waiter in question was condescending and disrespectful. Their tone of voice and demeanour made me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable, which significantly detracted from what should have been an enjoyable meal.

After a friend recommended coming here, and with it being literally a stone's throw away from the Hippodrome, we decided to give it a go! We love Japanese cuisine, so were excited to see such an array of choices of food. As you can see from the photos we had dragon roll Maki, crunchy spicy salmon Maki (both chef's specials) & a bento box. My two favourite pieces were the crunchy spicy salmon Maki and the pumpkin croquette (which I'd never had before, a new love!). I've had better dragon rolls before (from Inamo, London). The salmon was a bit dry but the bento box is definitely best value for money I think. All in all the prices are over inflated due to it being right next to the Hippodrome (I imagine!). Quite a few people came in, looked at the menu and then made a swift exit! The ambience in the restaurant was nice, and I enjoyed the (authentic) seating (it was different anyway!). Two of the three waiters were friendly, with the other one being abrupt. I would expect slightly better service for the price you're paying, it wasn't bad though! I would visit again and recommend to a friend, for a special occasion (or if you're well off)

Friendly and helpful staff, fresh food with a fast service. It’s not cheap, but neither is it extortionate and you can check the menu before you book to know what to expect. Perfect if you have tickets for the Hippodrome. My only slight negative was I was a little chilly sitting in the main area at the front of the restaurant, not sure if that would be different if seated elsewhere,

Lovely little restaurant with fantastic food and friendly staff. This was our second visit here, and it has been a great experience both times.

Appalling attitude from one of the staff this evening. 'Soy sauce sachet isn't free, we are giving only because we want to give' was exactly what I was told! As an Asian who know sushi culture more than that particular non-asian staff, please note that soy sauce and wasabi are part of a sushi meal. If getting some soy sauce would be so tricky I suggest Yo Sushi stop serving sushi altogether. If the area manager is looking at this, please check and educate your staff. N.b incident took place on Monday 28/10/24 around 9-930pm.

AVOID - had a booking for a friends 40th which we paid £70 deposit. They even called up the week before to check if still wanted booking. We arrived at 7pm on a Saturday night and it was all shut. Called number and chased our deposit numerous times and had no response. Turns out they closed in July due to a fire and must have been chancing it with our deposit. Shocking customer service!

The lack of options & willingness to accommodate for gluten free is seriously poor. Yo sushi has gone backwards in their ability to accommodate gluten free, considering sushi can very easily be made so. However some chains have had managers that try to help. At Selfridges Yo Sushi it was truly painful to speak to them about it. Yo sushi - in this day and age it shouldn’t be so hard!
