One of the best Omakase in London, from the founder of celebrated Jin restaurant in Paris. Awesome cuisine and experience. Amazingly fresh and incredibly tasty. Nice wine-list, skilled and friendly sommelier. We had THE perfect Omakase experience at Taku.Looking very much forward to another visit. Make sure you have a booking, as it is rather small (16 seats by the counter).

I have to agree with Pt, with regret - most of the food was great, but 80% sushi, and frankly forgettable, including the saki, which I enjoyed at the time, but will never remember - the bill however I will remember - I’d say at least twice what it should have been, maybe three times . My advice - go somewhere else - food comparable and you can go three times instead of once

𝗧𝗮𝗸𝘂, the Michelin-starred sister of Jin Paris, is a sushi haven in London. Head chef Watanabe, trained in Sapporo, brings his expertise to the omakase-only menu. The sleek, wooden counter seating allows a front-row view of the skilled chefs, including the talented sous chef John Park, who curated my dining experience. From tender Cornish sea bream sashimi to perfectly sliced Balfegó tuna, each dish showcased precise craftsmanship. The sushi sequence, accompanied by palate-cleansing ginger, featured delicacies like Cornwall's tender cuttlefish and sweet Orkney scallops. A standout was the lobster claw with green asparagus, adorned with a luscious egg yolk and white wine vinegar sauce. The sushi rice, served at the ideal temperature, elevated every bite. Dinner concluded with delightful desserts, including strawberry Cochin noodles and a sublime miso financier. With attentive service and a memorable meal, Taku impressed me and is certainly one of the London’’s top sushi spots.

We are huge omakase lovers and have been chasing omakase experiences from Japan, NY, London, Australia, Canada and many more. My husband had booked newly Michelined Taku dinner for my birthday. Sad to say, the experience felt like kitchen table with staff making sushi like a production line which is not what an intimate omakase should be like - and chef Taku was not even there. We recall every omakase experience, chef was there to make the sushi (yes, even Jiro in Japan!). The Sommelier was too focused on telling us how prestige the wines were rather than the taste profile or how it pairs with the dish - too pompous in our opinion. Overall, disappointing for £700pp (premium set plus pairing), and the staff were a little too hard selling by broadcasting price point of wines.

Seated, served and presented to the highest quality. Wonderful food. We all had one of the bowls towards the end of the menu - I recommend.

Bad experience.I’ve been to many Wasabi locations before, and today, when I passed by this one, I picked up a box of sushi in the store and told the front desk for takeaway. I was wearing headphones, so I didn’t say anything else afterward. After paying and leaving, I noticed the price charged didn’t match the takeaway price. At first, I thought the items might have been misplaced, so I contacted the manager. The front desk claimed I said 'eat-in,' and the manager also insisted I said 'eat-in.' Her attitude was extremely poor, and because English is not my first language, they kept saying, 'I don’t understand what you’re saying.' I’ve been in the UK for a long time, and this is the first time someone has spoken to me like this. Also, why should the customer pay for this mishearing mistake from servers? It made me very angry, and in the end, I just took the sushi and left. For people want to come, please double-check the price when paying—if something seems off, don’t proceed with the payment. Is this some new way to make extra profit😊?
