Wasabi in City of London, Westminster

Better flavor than other franchises of the same type. Very satisfactory and agile.

Went in at 2pm and they stopped making sushi entirely, no options out at all. Fine, I get a curry and the lady at the counter named Manjushree seemed frustrated at me immediately when I asked if a bag was free or if I’d have to pay for it. I had my student ID ready as well but wanted to ask if I could show her first, but she rudely said “Can you just bring it up and show me when I hadn’t even brought my ID up yet. She was sighing and looked angry at me even though I had not even said a word to her. How weird… I always enjoy Wasabi yet this was a letdown. Don’t let your frustrated employees be at the counter if they can’t be nice.

Comfort food, and good value for money!

Everything was great, the sushi was delicious, as was the mochi. I recommend it to everyone.

It was nice but nothing special. They had a few vegan options which was good to see. Wouldn’t revisit, service was cold and the atmosphere of the place wasn’t nice.

Typical wasabi, food as good as always but since it's set portions they've got a lot smaller

Food is cheaper than the usual restaurant. So it's the best place for students. Place is clean and good.

Early dinner for the win, food fresh, hot and delicious, perfect treat for a cold Monday night and still good valve for the slap dab in the centre of London.

Food tastes average. Once when I was paying for the pork chop curry rice, I was looked at and stared at by an Indian male employee. I felt confused. But the female employee who paid me the bill was very kind and nice.

Unfortunately, I became very ill last Tuesday 5th March 2024 after eating the Sweet Chili Chicken & rice from the hot food counter at Wasabi, 19 Kingsway :(

It’s my first time buying Sushi from Wasabi, I took it to my residence, and I found a few (literally )hair on the Sushi. I called the store and reported it, they required me to return the Sushi today or otherwise I can’t get my refund. It’s really ridiculous because I am living in East London and I won’t go to the store again just for returning the gross Sushi. I am an international student here and I don’t know if there’s any channel I can report to the officials.

Wasabi is always undermined I think. Curry chicken bento is cheap and hot. Nothing we can ask for. It’s even cheap in Morrisons.

They should work on their service.

Great and cheap sushi It’s a great option if you want to eat something cheaper while you walk. They have different options.

I just want to take a moment to express my gratitude for the excellent customer service I received today in Wasabi store in kings way .I was served by a lovely lady.  Her name starts with Ven or something like this. She was really friendly and very professional . I would say,  the food was really delicious. I had actually sweet chilli chicken bento . It was really melting in my mouth. Even the price was fair tbh . Thanks wasabi

Love their sushi, but they often have issues with their card machine and accept only cash. Ridiculous how much waste it creates.

Nice place for have your late breakfast because they open 11 am and lunch… good music and atmosphere inside shop. So you can relax bring you computer and do your work then you have your breakfast or…,I was saying if good management so you bring 5 ⭐️ servings for customer!!!!! Went in for lunch at 1pm Tuesday and the whole fridge section was empty. I asked if I could get a box of sushi from the trolly to a female staff with tree tattoos on her arm but she ignored me. I asked again and she said with a sharp NO and continued placing the sushi to the fridge section. I left.

Al momento de entrar al sitio veo le anuncio mitad de precio, entre escogí un plato caliente y me cobraron lo normal 7.95£.

Fresh tasty food. Fast service. Love it.

I can only speak for the sushi coz that’s the only one we’ve tried - but it was really good for the price (we paid 10£ for 2 ppl), it also had a variety of different pieces to try in the box. Another nice thing is that they close at 20:30 and we got there 20:25 and they still took the time to serve us and were being so kind :’) so thank you!!🍣

Bought salmon poke salad bowl for lunch and got food poisoning! Will avoid at all costs, health hazzard.

Food is typical wasabi but staff at Kingsway are awful

Usually good service but this evening a staff was very unprofessional in handing over the take away package; he only put the food in after my request and was extremely rude in handing it over.

Good alternative for a fast food. Tasty sushi or a hot meal for a good value.

Liars and manipulators. You CAN get ANY fresh food at 50% OFF in the last HALF HOUR. Worst experience at a Asian fast food/restaurant. Usually the Asian food places I go people are well mannered and upfront and I like this customer service culture, but this wasabi just deterred me from ever stepping foot here again, and not only me but other friends that often used to go there had bad customer service experience. And when I mean bad, it's bad. They'll try to play with words and "I'm not sure" but just get what you want and at the counter tell you can it at half price and it's in their policy. That short Manager deceived and lied me and in the end I had to pay it full price when I clearly asked about the 30 min policy. And had the audacity of laugh about me with his untrained employees WHILE I was paying full price in front of them. The disrespect. Man I know how retail works so alright I can just come back after confirming the offer at another branch but what bothers me is why insulting me like this? It was demeaning and unnecessary. And no I wasn't a Karen, I simply asked about their 50% off before 30 min closing time and didn't insist when I saw the manager being all unsure idk etc, and after that acting he tells me he can only do it on the most expensive item there, a clear way to desist me. And no I wasn't a Karen even after, I just paid for what I wanted, ignored their smirks and left.

Lied to me on the phone, don't go here. Find another location

Extremely bad customer service very rude, this women is racist, unattractive, rude, and weird and has 0 customer service skills

Absolutely disgusting. Literally the worst katsu chicken and noodles I have ever tasted, extremely soggy and with that oily aftertaste. The brown katsu sauce was virtually tasteless. The noodles were not even Chinese takeaway level: cut into small segments, overly cooked and, most importantly, utterly BLAND. They didn’t taste like soy, they didn’t taste like dashi, gosh they didn’t even taste like salt. I forgot to add, the kale (kale?, really?) was undercooked.

It was second time in the row hot food is not hot and very dry , the second time they delivered wrong order ,I paid via Deliveroo £15.88 they sent me someone else food and receipt for £7.95 When I phone them she told me that they will not deliver missing food and I have to come in person to collect .Person from Wasabi told me she has to speak to manager , when I phoned second time half an hour later she told me manager is on holiday . Very disapointed with Wasabi it use to be nice place before , now is terrible food ,wrong orders ,missing items and poor service . Their only excuse was that they are busy ???I will never order from them again . Alex

The vegan things are not nice I wouldn't recommend

Used to come here a lot but since they changed to pre-made boxes will not anymore. You don't get as much choice or cannot "fine tune" your order. The portions seem to be smaller and depending when it was packed it might not be as warm as it should be. Mine wasn't. Shame really.

Brilliant food great choice for vegetarians and vegans

Used to be great, but they downgraded from fresh to premade boxes only. That means significantly smaller portions, less options, no customising.

I was charged two times, and even when the bank reject one of the payment because it was 2 payments in the same date time, wasabi has charged me again the day after. The cashier didn't hear me even when I show her that information. Very rude, she didn't stop to explain me anything about it. She just told me to leave.

La revisión es de la sucursal de Kingsway. Ha habido un gran cambio de personal y las porciones son más pequeñas, pero el precio ha subido. En comparación con hace solo unos meses, no todas las cajas están abiertas y no hay suficiente personal. Recientemente solo había uno abierto para todo a la hora del almuerzo, mientras que normalmente se filtra entre alimentos fríos o calientes. Cuando hubo un cambio en la administración, se podía ver las escalas que se usaban y al personal que se le decía que la porción era demasiado grande a pesar de que era del tamaño anterior. Es obvio para los clientes que están reduciendo pero cobrando más. Solía disfrutar las ensaladas, pero ahora están hechas fuera del sitio (pregunté por qué habían cambiado) obtienes menos pescado y se corta en rodajas, así que parece que obtienes más, además hay una adición de mayonesa / cangrejo que diluye el sabor, aunque obviamente esta es una decisión comercial de la empresa. Sin embargo, el curry de Katsu sigue siendo una buena opción. Un consejo, llega temprano. Ahora King tiene una gran presencia en los estudiantes de Strand, tanto de LSE como de King, gravitan aquí y puede encontrar que están haciendo cola en la calle desde las 12:00 p.m. Sin embargo, esto probablemente también esté relacionado con la falta de personal y cajas.

These guys clearly don't know how to scale the number of staff members based on number of clients, so people have to wait for ages. And they lose clients

Brilliant food good price the only thing I will say it is does get very busy at lunch time I had to wait for 20 minutes for get my food BUT it was well worth the wait !! Staff were very polite as well !

Pretty good. Noodles were a bit dry needed more sauce, but overall would reccomend for q quick bite.

It's a OK pit stop for good healthy food voice for a bit on the go or to get something to bring at work. It's tasty, service is good and quick, live sushi really like the place.

Now that they have sushi with brown rice it's fantastic. But not all outlets have it.

I have been in wasabi last Monday and I can tell I had a great customer service. Soraya and Liliana were so welcoming and caring. It was almost closing time and they were still happy to welcome us and let us eating in. It was lovely spending time there. Thank you

Pretty standard Japanese food. Closing time is a bit later than usual at 9pm which makes the half price meals a bit too late for dinners. Food is great but a bit too salty though

Good for a healthy bit of sushi on the go!

It is good because you get your food quickly. But it is not a place to talk. I went there with a friend to talk but too crowded and noisy.

I could live here... i cant get enough of the food. Huge portions, expensive but everything I could ask for. Wish we had them in Scotland!

Popped in for a quick pre-theatre snack. There weren't many vegan options and I found the lighting pretty harsh. Food was ok and the sizes were decent, but I probably won't go again.

The service is brilliant; My only disappointment is that the food does not taste very good. It's not this store's fault, it's just that Wasabi's recipes are not very good, and I've tasted the same at every outlet. In fact, I can get better tasting food from street vendors. So in short, I have nothing against this place, do come here for lunch, the service is excellent but don't expect tasty food. Furthermore, to some of my fellow reviewers, what do you'll have against students who come here for lunch? They are customers as well, and have a right to be served.

Go get 50% off here if you show up just before closing, gave me a nice surprise when I went to pay

My all time favorite when I was studying

Llamado aquí para una comida caliente pero al sentarse con mi selección (después de hacer cola) la comida estaba fría. Inmediatamente traté esto a la atención del personal del mostrador que se disculpó, acordó que hacía frío y ofreció recalentarlo en lugar de cocinarlo en fresco. Naturalmente recibí un reembolso inmediato y me fui a otro lado.

好吃又便宜 米飯的煮法是真的亞洲的煮法 不是那種一粒一粒的乾米.. 咖喱飯生魚片壽司味噌湯珍珠奶茶通通都有

일식 요리 체인인 와사비. 주변 대학생들이 많이 찾는 지점. 점심에 간단히 식사를 해결하기 위해 찾은 학생들로 매우 붐빈다.

Schlechtes Essen a la Mc Donalds auf asiatisch. Selbst das warme Gericht hatte eine künstlich-schleimige Sauce und Tofu der bereits eine harte Außenhaut hatte. Es gab nur eine Toilette. Danach musste man sich mitten im Esslokal die Hände waschen.

Planty of space to seat in, but no toilets. Nice staff, great food like usual apart from the teriyaki chicken. Found some bone sprinkles in it.

Seems to have more variety than other branches, having recently introduced brown rice sushi. However, place needs to be cleaned a bit more frequently. Staff are brisk and efficient.
