If I could rate this zero I would. Booked this for a special Xmas dinner with my family. They scammed us by taking our deposit before then not taking it off the final bill for the Xmas dinner. We had to follow up continually after the holidays, they also charged us an"optional" tipping amount without our knowledge. I could forgive all of this if dinner was delicious but no it was so bad, missing most of what was promised and totally inedible... would not recommend on a good day much less on such a special occasion. Shame on the management of this place.

I am sorry to write this as I am sure they are all very nice people, BUT the service was non existent: had to ask for menus 3x, had to ask for our food, had to ask for our sides (2x) wine (2x) and check (3x again) The food was Awful. Oddly spiced - luckily there wasn’t much of it! The puddings lovely - but I don’t normally go for a pudding. The music was great! Sadly not enough of an incentive to return.

Food is ok, nothing too special. I have to say that the two stars for the service are only for the curly-haired guy. He was truly lovely and professional. I cannot say the same about the girl, who was rude and arrogant without any reason. It is not my problem if you hate your job. First of all, you should at least now the services that you offer. Not to mention that when clients even tell you that they have to pay some additional stuff you should be thankful that they do not want to cause any trouble.

5 stars. Lovely restaurant with attentive staff and delicious food. Beautiful decor and the Christmas decorations are subtle but pretty. It wasn't very full which we were quite surprised about as the whole experience was lovely. We went for dinner and drinks. The desserts are big so I would share in future but everything else is just enough to fill you up.

Had Christmas dinner here with my colleagues, and it truly was poor. The smoked salmon starter was literally five tiny slices of warm smoked salmon on a plate with some dill and tasteless sauce. The main dish was a disc shaped lump of lamb, that had a strange consistency, on the thinnest layer of mashed potato. The "chocolate mousse" dessert was the consistency and flavour of Angel Delight. Portions were tiny, wanted some toast when I got home. £55 Service was inconsistent, and when the waiter delivered a shandy in a wine glass, he claimed it was a "new beer glass". What a strange experience.

Typical soul-less restaurant, focused all on looks, rather than substance. The place itself is fairly nice and stylish, especially around the bar area, but that’s pretty much where the positives end, for me. The menu offers a relatively small selection of dishes, including a bit of everything (which I always think is a bad sign), from mussels and oysters to lamb stew, and seems to have been put together with no rationale behind whatsoever. My partner and I ordered a baked goat cheese - which had a thick and slightly soggy breaded coating that made me think it had been frozen, and added nothing to the taste, and was served with bits of nuts and flavourless pear - and a ham hock terrine as a starter. After saying they had to double check if the terrine was available, the waiter confirmed after a little while. When they came back with the dishes, a good 20 minutes later, the terrine was not there. We naturally asked for it again and they, slightly puzzled, replied that it should also be about to come and that they would go and double check with the kitchen. Five more minutes passed, then the waiter came back, apologising that a mistake was made and the terrine was not going to come. I stress that nothing was offered to my partner in compensation for his hopeless 25 minutes wait for food, not a starter or a glass of wine on the house, nothing. I honestly never experienced such a bad service in a restaurant. My partner, reasonably speechless by then, decided to skip the starter and just have the burger he ordered, which obviously was also underwhelming and overcooked. I instead had some pumpkin and sage tortelloni, which were honestly quite nice, but had their potential totally frustrated but how they were served with a bit of runny broth, including a very small amount of diced shiitakes, in a very bad attempt at giving the tortelloni an Asian twist. I summary, in our experience the food was mediocre and badly thought-of, and the service terrible. We will never go back.

Just dinned here recently and had a wonderful time with friends and family. My husband ordered the lamb (not his go to choice) and absolutely loved it. The way it was prepared, it took the "gamey" taste away and it was unbelievably tasty. I ordered the polenta and it also did not disappoint. It was very creamy and flavourful. For dessert I ordered the vanilla creme brulee and it was great. Greatly accessible from the main busy street. Very cozy and warm place. Service was excellent. Drinks were for all people.

We came here for dinner. The service and ambience were fantastic as is the location. We got the olives, artichoke tempura and Arancini to start. All were amazing but the artichoke tempura really stood out. For mains we got the ribeye and fillet steak. The portion of meat was quite small and it did lack some salt but the chips were well seasoned as was the salad. Peppercorn sauce lacked some salt and was slightly too watery. We had an offer so our bill totalled £50 which is good value.

Terrible customer service, great white wine and very decent food (includes 50% off on food promotion via The Fork). Husband and I went for a double date night out with a visiting couple from Scotland to give this place a try and, unfortunately, I’m afraid we won’t be returning. Upon arrival, The Manageress (she never introduced herself, sorry if rude) offered a table by the door. We kindly refused and, after a couple of long faces, accepted to move us away from Narnia. His colleague, The Server (he didn’t share his name either - a habit in 28-50, it seems) came and offered us to try some options for white wine and so on. He was forgettable but kind and polite. Then it was time to take the food order, for which The Manageress came into the scene again. Even though she seemed happier this time and offered us some lovely suggestions, she forgot to check the order back. That meant that one of my guests (who doesn’t eat non-veg on Tuesdays -a Hindu thing-) was presented with a dish containing animal protein - such a killer move 🤦🏻‍♂️ When we approached The Manageress to let her know of the issue, oh man, she wasn’t happy (again). She agreed to change the main to what we thought my guest had ordered originally, not without making us feel how annoyed she was for the whole thing (walking away without a word, carrying her bad vibes away from the table). In the mean time, the mood at the table was going down hill. I had to apologise at my friends for choosing the wrong venue, my guest had to watch us eat our food for +10mins while he was having some sides to fool his stomach and, surprise surprise, we had to steal the cutlery from the table next door because The Manageress forgot to prelay him with fresh cutlery. Fast forward to the bill, I stepped aside to try to share my feedback with The Server. The Manageress, aware of the scene, comes around very casually to see what’s going on. I decide to face the situation, assuming I’m dealing with a professional, and let her know how my guests and I feel about our experience and I made her aware that, apart from her lack of warmth, the main issue, we feel, was not checking the order - to which she responds that she did check the order… oh, dear… When I let her know about my guest’s choice not to eat meat nor fish on Tuesdays, denoting the fact that had she had indeed read the order back, we would’ve mentioned about the veg Tuesdays deal and avoided the derail of our evenings, she became increasingly irritated (bless her). “Okay, fine.” she exclaims (perhaps acknowledging her fault) “… but I’m only going to remove the service charge”. As if removing a forced tip is somehow a discount… ehem, ehem. Next to us, The Waiter is watching the scene, unaware of how unideal our experience had been until now. The Manageress leaves frame and takes her bad vibes along, while I give The Server a cash tip and I appreciate him for his care. I also gave him some feedback regarding some of the dishes we tried. I must say, apart from the +14 unopened mussels my husband had on his main meal, food is actually very yummy here!!! Shame it all got sort-of-ruined by the fact that the leader of this ship was, presumably, not having a great day. Which happens, don’t get my wrong, we’re all humans - but this is just a sincere run of events told from my point of view. Dramas aside, the Verdichio wine was superb: hyper smooth and great with the starters. We went for Malbec for the mains and the guests also loved it. I recommend the seared tuna, the runner beans side (you get like 1kg of them, together with 6 almonds) as well as the roast potatoes. On the down side, my veggie guest (bless him) did not enjoy his polenta main course but, of course, it may have also been influenced by the whole order-taking fiasco I mentioned before. The question is: in such a saturated market, with so many good options to choose from in the block… will a restaurant like this make it to January? First time visit, met up with friends to visit London for the first time in about 3 yrs. The menu looked good... sadly, was average imo. Service was incredibly slow, we were comp'd a bread basket for the incredibly long wait. The food came after just over an hour, wife's steak was cooked incorrectly and my burger was subpar, definitely nothing special. The staff were professional, but not talkative, not engaging, and everyone was speaking very softly for some reason. The place wasn't busy, maybe 7 tables being used, so not sure what was going on, but wasn't a great experience. Most likely there will not be a sequel.

Went for a works dinner. Food was really nice. I'm particularly fussy and I cleaned my plate on all 3 courses.

Vomit. That’s what you see in the first picture. Disgusting. The toilets are (by the way) 1 mile away from the dinning room and I can still smell them from home today. Now, I’ll try to post a review objectively. Service was excellent, a waiter was with us all the time making sure all was OK. It would be good to see it they can maintain the standards when the restaurant is packed. Food was awful, we had a cheese and charcuterie board and, apart from two cheeses, everything else was horrible. Tasteless meats and cheeses, it wouldn’t surprise me they were unbranded. Then a fillet and ribeye. They claim it’s aged for 28 days but I think it’s not aged but expired for 28 days. Tasteless, chewy and pretty badly seasoned. Comes with a ready to eat rocket salad. We also had reheated sourdough bread which would have been better if it wasn’t off. Comes with an average butter (again, probably unbranded) Tempura artichokes weren’t too bad but you can smell and taste the vegetable oil they’re fried with. I’d expect a decent olive oil at least. Price was insane, about £200 for the three of us without any wine. It doesn’t surprise me that the restaurant was half empty on a Saturday night. I can’t believe how this has more than 4 stars.

La comida estaba riquísima, la presentación, el sabor... El restaurante es muy acogedor. La barra en el centro es chulísima. Sale un poco caro si no utilizas la app, aunque pienso que vale la pena. Lo recomiendo si pasas por Londres!!

If your looking for a break from the hustle of Oxford Street head here. It’s an Oasis of calm for weary shoppers and those who work locally. The food was great, had a Tuna in a broth with Pak choy. Beautifully presented and the taste sublime. Friend had the lamb shoulder, which was described by the waitress as a brick. It looked like one but my friend said it was delicious with a hearty bean stew below. Drinks were good too. My Long Island iced tea kicked in a few minutes after drinking it. The follow up Chablis was the correct temp and lovely. The best thing is the service. All waiting staff were friendly and happy to help in anyway. Thank you !

Had dinner here with a friend, and we were both very impressed. Great location, close to theatres, shopping etc. The food was full of flavour and great texture contrasts. The chef knows his stuff. All the staff were attentive, without being intrusive and the outdoor seating is extensive and comfortable. Inside was similarly classy and intimate. All round great experience.

Had a lovely lunch here today. The food was really very good, well seasoned and tasty. The staff were friendly but the service was a bit slow and needs to sharpen up a bit-thats all! Overall, an excellent meal!

Acceptable food for starters and good service but the mussels were SO sandy! Every bite was full of stones and sand unfortunately.

Food was great and beautifully presented, loved the goats cheese starter and the steak was perfectly cooked with a fantastic peppercorn sauce. The wine was OK and quite overpriced and I found the struture of the wine list a little confusing.

My partner and I went for dinner here the other day. The food was good, especially the desserts. Loved the choice of seasonal menu. Unfortunately while giving us menus, the waitress broke a glass on our table and the shattered glass went onto me, cutting one of my fingers. The staff immediately moved us to another table and changed our waiter to a different one, although I'd hoped for something extra after such an accident. Overall we had a good time and might come again.

Friendly staff and felt welcome. The food was exquisite as always and had the best pistachio crème brûlée ever. Love the Tuna tartare, ceviche & oysters. I'll definitely recommend this place.

Absolutely stunning place, people and food!!!! Totally worth the quality of food and service by Radu and Ruben were just amazing, friendly, attentive and anticipating. Location is central but fairly quite to sit outside, beautiful interiors too. All of it was really good but my most favourite are the artichokes starter, oysters, mussels, and all fish dishes really, had them before and broccoli was delicious too.

Great place to have a relaxed dinner on the terrace and meet old friends! Efficient service from our waiter Ruben and good food quality.

Food was excellent I booked lunch menu but was given main menu had to ask for it And there was a small bone in my chicken breast.

I am a huge 28-50 restaurant fan…. And have been to most of them. We booked the unlimited oysters and champagne offer in 90 minutes, I even called ahead to find out which restaurants were participating and booked Market Place - Oxford Circus. It was with my cousins from New York. When we sat, I even said this to the staff and confirm that we wanted unlimited oysters and champagne. Initially we were served with 4 oysters, which we finished and asked if they could bring out more at one time. They said this was the policy, so after 15 minutes they served another 4 oysters. Each time we finished we had to get the attention of the staff, even though it was an unlimited offer the food was not topped up automatically. Incidentally there were 4 tables at the time and no one else was having oysters. After 1 hour we had 20 oysters between 4 people, which clearly was not unlimited, in fact I could have asked for two dozen oysters in a normal restaurant and would have been served this immediately. After 1 hour we then spoke to the manager who seemed to say that this was a problem with the marketing department of 28-50! I said whilst we understood there was no reason why they were unable to serve us a dozen or so oysters each time. I also said I would be happy to speak to the marketing department, she suggested I send them an email!. Even after the discussion another 4 came! Then finally at the end we were given a dozen with a bottle of champagne we could finish. Then after the time had passed they gave us 6 more. I am just totally confused as to why this was not done at the beginning? It was an embarrassing experience at a such a lovely place. If it’s unlimited it should be unlimited without having to feel like you have to beg for food especially when it’s £70 per head, about £105 or if we included the other food we ordered. Hope this feedback is useful. I tried to leave review on Openable but that does not work.

I’ve had a really good time here, the restaurant is located very conveniently and the food was excellent. I’ve had the goat’s cheese and chicken supreme with new potatoes which were very tasty. Everybody from the table complimented their food which is a statement to the place. The service was a bit on the slow side as there was a mix up and our mains were sent to the kitchen very late; however, the staff made sure to turn our experience around. Special shout out to the manager of the venue who made sure our food came out asap as well as treated us to complimentary drinks and a further discount. Will be back for sure.

Forgettable experience. Service was confused, not fully aware of the table for two voucher. Food was hit or miss. Nothing amazing or terrible. Steak was really salty and not of best quality. Lamb shoulder was slightly better. Unfortunately it’s not worth the price tag.

Having read the reviews, I was unsure what to expect. On arriving, we were taken to our table and had to wait 20+ minutes for someone to take our drinks order. We had ordered a bread, starters and mains. Unfortunately the bread never arrived. The starters were nice, but the mains were a big let down. I had ordered the lamb shank but found it dry with a very watery gravy. Fortunately the waiter had comped some of the food to compensate which is the only reason I won't give them 1 star. I expect better at these prices!

Had the best time. Great atmosphere even though for a Friday night it wasn't too busy. Cocktails made by Simon, spot on. Great food. All the staff were so lovely and welcoming from Helena the Manager, Miles, Christina and one other lovely guy whose name I forgot, apologies. Anyway cannot fault this place. I would highly recommend and I will be back.

Happy hour cocktail’s definitely worth visiting for. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re down that way.

Stopped for a meal on Saturday - when heading for a show & said were on a tright schedule. Very polite & attentive - but initially slow - however once highlighted everything arrived quickly (and in good time) and as an apology didn't charge us for the meal too - now that's service - and way beyond what we expected - thank you very much!

I really like this place and wanted it to work. But service on this occasion was terrible. Was hosting business guests and had promised a fast turnaround. The team was polite and pleasant but did not recognise the need for efficient service. I arrived ten minutes ahead of guests gave a clear brief and yet it took 35 minutes to get anything more than water, 45 to get a menu. I had to constantly stand and approach staff when I should have been hosting. Terrible and nearly 500 pounds for the pleasure. This is the closest decent place to my work - but FFS - I am a pretty relaxed customer but this was one of the most annoying dining experiences I have had.

The atmosphere is nice but the service was very slow under pretty normal (I.e. not significantly busy) circumstances. Our server was very absent minded and continuously forgot to bring out simple orders of wine and small starters. Would recommend customers go elsewhere for lunch.

Absolutely amazing place to visit in this restaurant. Great British food to choose from. Absolutely love the grilled octopus tasty! Worth coming here for those who want some experience in central London.

A small group of us visited 28-50 Oxford Circus for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. It was very well located just off of Oxford Circus (the name gives it away) and it’s easy to find. Upon entry, we were greeted by the very friendly staff and sat at a lovely table for three. There were several things that made our visit special. Firstly, the staff – they were very friendly, and nothing was too much trouble, they genuinely seemed to want to give us the best time possible. Secondly, the food – we ordered some Charcuterie and other light lunch bites to eat alongside a bottle of wine. I cannot convey how delicious everything we had was. The Charcuterie was next level, and was one of the best I’ve ever had – the table agreed to. Finally, the restaurant itself – it was gorgeous and felt really exclusive. What was booked for a light lunch and drinks with friends far surpassed all of our expectations, and it was truly a fantastic experience from start to finish. I will certainly return again in the future, and I would highly encourage you to plan a visit yourself!

Amazing sushi and efficient service. Be sure to try the pumpkin katsu as it is the best menu item and will not disappoint! The beef teriyaki is a hit or miss as it is sometimes crispy and delicious but sometimes cut too big and ends up being chewy however I would still recommend.

Came here on a Friday night for dinner. The cocktails were quite nice and some entrees like the prawns and arancini were tasty. The mains were a different story, the cod I ordered was just not pleasant at all.. the flavours left a horrible taste in my mouth and I couldn’t eat more than a couple of bites. My friends all tried it too and said the same thing so I’m not sure if it’s just us or the cod dish is simply just not a good dish. Aside from that we still had an okay time, the staff were a bit slow though (we had to ask multiple times for things like water, our cutlery and bill)

Cannot fault the restaurant. This was my second time visiting 28-50 and the food remained high quality. Ordered the cod with mussels and saffron for mains and was delicious. We got the truffle arancini balls for starters and these were great as well. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

I had an excellent celebratory birthday dinner here last night with 3 girlfriends. The mushroom vol au vent and the chicken supreme were delicious. We were looked after by Helena & Ruben, both of whom went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed and had a good time. Thank you to them for making the evening so successful. We all agreed we will be definitely be returning & look forward to sampling the cocktails ( decided against it for Monday night! ). Professional, fun, relaxed, knowledgeable, good food and lovely atmosphere. Well done 28-50.

Restaurant atmosphere is good, not too loud and was not busy when we went. We utilised a Time out 3 course meal offer. Food was very disappointing. The fish and chips were quite disgusting with very stodgy batter which tasted uncooked. The rest of the food was very average 'pub food' but the portion sizes were quite good. We have been a regulars at Chelsea branch for long time, as we were in the area we decided to try this branch out as the fork app suggested. We are so disappointed, we started a conversation with the new manager in charge asking for wine and cocktail suggestion but she showed very unprofessional and she basically charged for the most expensive wine/cocktail without telling any price or anything(she actually had to look at the bar book for ingredients) Good octopus from Galicia but terrible suggestions of Indians lentils as a side which didn’t match at all. We have been ask for the payment a couple of times with restaurant completely empty where we had to interrupt their chat to be served (?) When we started to put our coats they finally realised that we where leaving. Where do you really need to push in a restaurant to be charged? Service charge applied.

Place was not busy for Sunday Brunch, the staff super friendly and helpful. Food good and good price

Lovely bar hidden away, went on a quiet day, beautiful decor within the bar. Only downside is the staff lack any personality, blonde girl behind the bar may have been a manager as she didn’t have a uniform on was licking her fingers and didn’t wash them when sorting out all the garnish. Very nice decorated restaurant, great location (very quiet despite of being in Oxford Street) Amazing stuff, very welcoming, polite and professional. We been served by a Portuguese lady, she was very nice and told us about the wine bottles decorations aswell. The price was good too as we had a discount for the food and we couldn't drink alcohol. I will definitely come back here.

Tiene buena carta de comidas que no siendo demasiado amplia tiene variedad suficiente para atender todos los gustos. Además hacen muy buenos cócteles. Christmas lunch experience…UH-mazing!!! Food was delicious and high quality, value for money was amazing, 5 courses served with wine and port, when they saw that I had late teen kids with me that could not drink the alcohol that was included in the package, they amended the price. Finest attention to detail, amazing greeting from the Maître D’ , relatable…could not find fault. Thank you for a wonderful experience for a winter Christmas away from Melbourne Australia.

Worst $350 I’ve ever spent! Christmas dinner set menu was horrible. To make it worse the items were over cooked and tasteless. Service was mediocre at best but i get, they would have preferred to be with their loved ones. Every family that came in I wanted to scream RUN! 2 stars because I’m feeling the holiday spirit

Food was great! There is an online wine list that shows quite a few older vintage wines and the only list we could get in person did not have most of the vintage wines. Very nice place but could use a little noise abatement making conversations need to be loud to overcome the background noise. Service was pretty good. Again, Food was great!!

Today I visited your restaurant with my friends, excellent menu, everything was very tasty. But there was an unpleasant moment when the waiter asked where we were from and found out the nationality of one our friend, made an ugly face in her direction and began to express a not very pleasant opinion ... it was very unprofessional, it spoiled our mood at the end of the evening spent in such a beautiful place .I hope it was just a misunderstanding and your restaurant is open to all nationalities!!

Hugely disappointing experience. We were not given menus when seated. When we finally got a staff member to bring us some, it took another 15 minutes to get someone to take our drink order. Finally after 30 minutes of being seated at our table we give our drink and appetizer order. At this point the staff informed us that table reservations only last 90 minutes. We decided to have our appetizers and leave for dinner elsewhere where we wouldn’t be rushed out. Two glasses of mediocre Chablis, 6 oysters, and a basket of bread was £75. The staff didn’t clarify the glass size and brought us the biggest pour of wine available at £21 per glass. Oysters came still stuck to the shell so we had to scrape them out ourselves.

Very slow kitchen but the food is quite good by any standard. Great vibes for a work lunch or dinner!

An amazing experience, I came here to celebrate my birthday-the staff made me feel very special, Mike was amazing and so was another lady but I didn't get her name. Can't wait to visit again soon

I love that this bar is tucked away behind the rustly and bustle of Oxford St but still has a great vibe! It is my favourite of all the 28-50's and that would be because of the service, particularly Pasquale's service. I am a regular and am likely to be for a while to come.

Pretty place, food was honestly good but nothing you couldn't do yourself at home. Not really pricey but pricey for what it is.

Very extensive and high calibre wine list. Mark up is actually very reasonable for the high quality on offer

Fantastic hidden gem of a cocktail bar,. Spectacular location, a head sommelier to be proud of (with a great cure for hiccups!) and the value on the cocktails at happy hour is unrivalled… the surprise was the quality of the drinks- curated, not thrown together. Will definitely be back!

It was ok. We were 7 and 4 of us had a problem with their food. But first, i would like to say that the waiter was very nice and professional and the place is really cool ! We started with some cocktails and food to share. No problems at all. But then the main dishies came. I've ordered the Lamb Shoulder but i came with. Same problem with the cheesburgers that my friends ordered : they asked for regular mayonese instead of black truffle mayo but the burger came with the truffle one. And finally, one of my friends asked for a well done burger but it came rear 🥲 At the end the waiter removed the 4 dishies of the bill and i really appreciate what he did, it's very professional 👏 It's so sad that a lot of mini mistakes like that happened bc the food was tasty and everything was good in general !

Centrally located and easy to get to. Modern and hip. Music is also very modern. We have shared starters and also lamb for main course. We have a big group and several bottles of wine. Altogether it works out to be around 55 gbp per person. Presentation of the food is nice and I like my lamb. Service is great. The waitress is not intrusive. Every now and then, she will come and check to see whether everything id ok and is our food ok also. Worth a try.

Quite disappointing overall I am afraid. Wine, mussels and fries dish were very basic at the most but definitely not the price. The service was also basic and careless. A very different restaurant than the one I know on Marylebone Lane

Served spoiled muscles that absolutely stank. Burrata was solid - not good! Felt sorry for the servers having to give out the food. Other courgette dishes we ordered were not very good. Would highly discourage anybody from dining here. The servers were nice though :)

The staff were nice and welcoming but a bit of a mixed bag. Forgetting things like cutlery. The food was very average. The stuffed courgette was overcooked and bland. The sides were alright though. Also, the restaurant was very dark inside

Had a thoroughly enjoyable meal, seated outside of the restaurant. The location manages to remain relatively quiet given its close proximity to oxford Circus, yet there is constant but not distracting or annoying level of footfall We shared a starter of hummus, olives, arancini all of which was lovely. My wife had a burger she couldn't finish as it was huge and I had stuffed aubergine & garlic potatoes. All really hot & really nice. Staff very welcoming & engaging, beautiful inside the venue, good prices (Fork discount is great) and the blush wines were perfect. Recommended by me.

Mia figlia ha preso una porzione di gnocchi e devo dire erano molto buoni, mia moglie ha preso il polipo con una salsina sempre molto buono ed io delle zucchine ripiene. Devo dire tutto buono locale molto bello ed accogliente, personale gentile
