Take A Break Cafe in Bolsover

My mum and dad are receiving meals delivered by “take a break”. I can’t speak highly enough and thank them for what they offer. Obliging and caring. Delivered hot and the previous crockery picked up. My mum is used to cooking meals but she says how tasty and delicious their food is. Very important when you are not on your best form. The meals have fresh vegetables and certainly are a generous plate full. All the meals go down well. Thank you to the team and keep up this important service.

We call quite regularly for breakfast which is basic but good. Beans or scrambled egg on toast. The brown bread is delicious. Nice, friendly staff and nice décor. Lovely selection of cakes so our next visit may well be afternoon tea. The café has a lovely feel about it - comfortable and welcoming with the added advantage of supporting a local charity.

Nice to just walk into the village rather than get the car out, really good value, food was all home made and tasty. Good service and friendly staff means we will be back soon 👍

Large bacon butty served in a huge sub roll. when i went to pay i thought that they had under charged me. I've heard good things about the dinners that they deliver as well. I'll have to try it.

Have visited a few times for breakfast or Sunday lunch. Very good value especially the 3 course Sunday lunch menu x

The weather was awful outside so I told my 12 year old to go ahead in and order our breakfast while I went I the cash machine just a few feet away. When I returned my son told me they refused to serve him until he could prove he had money to pay. What a dreadful way to speak to a child of the community. We left without ordering and I spent my money elsewhere. Will not return!

From J Boy of Derby I could not believe this place for less than £5 I had a superb lunch plenty of turkey, 3 veg, roast and mash potatoes, and a Yorkshire pudding plus a dessert of apple pie. Lovely food very friendly owners and an attractively decorated room. I only wished I lived nearer to visit more often. Full English breakfasts are also available, always hope cafes like this do well they deserve to.

This place is lovely..actually couldn’t wait for kids to go back to school so I could call for my breakfast.they are so down to earth.its a lovely place to have a chat and more to the point a lovely breakfast..kids are more than welcome which I thinks great..Chaire and Darren are lovely people and nothing is to much trouble.

Menu board say only small medium large etc breakfasts. No description. No mention of whats included, no list of extras. Service slow and there was 3 of them! Yes it was busy but this is not my normal cafe as it was closed today. They are often as busy and only 2 of them and 3 x's as quick. Tea arrived weak and with half a cow, think milky coffee! He asked if i wanted sugar (he had just put a little pot of sugar on the guys table in front of me!). I asked for a tea with less milk it came back with less milk in now only third of a cow lol and said oh I've put sugar in, at no time was I asked how much sugar! It was way too sweet. Had one sip and left the rest didn't have the cheek to send it back again. It was like syrup. Toast arrived this is only the positive bit as it arrived fairly warm and with a little blister pack of lurpak. Breakfast arrived. Sausages were awful of the 3 left 1 and 3/4 as couldn't eat any more. One egg was totally hard as over cooked, bacon almost undercooked although ypu could tell it was good quality. Didn't enjoy at all and my score includes an extra star for the lurpak. Next time if cozy corner cafe is closed I'll go without.

Thought we'd try it. Brilliant, two courses and a drink each for under £15 !! All staff super nice and food was great, Two roast dinner then treacle sponge each ! We'll be back for breakfast and sunday lunch next week.

Really good value for money, and nicely presented. Good choices on menu with friendly atmosphere. Really enjoyed the sausages, nice quality and tasty. Overall good pricing

Brilliant little hideaway, redecorated and cosy with lovely new owners. Lovely hearty food, good portions at amazing prices. A great place to meet friends or just sit and relax by yourself. Definitely recommend.
