Excellent service. Food is so rich in taste. Superb overall❤️

My wife and I went in on a Wednesday for my wifes birthday. The staff were very attentive and I'm sure this is the case all the time. There was only three couples including us dining (not busy midweek) the food was amazing and it only cost us £51 for meals, sides, breads and drinks. I would recommend this place and look forward to returning soon.

Not eaten in at this restaurant, however have been collecting takeaways for quite some time now and are so impressed not only with the quality of the food and selection of dishes but also the service we get from the staff, all very welcoming. It’s now our regular weekly port of call. Tonight the restaurant was really busy (an Elvis tribute night evidently) however our order was ready on time and as usual hot when we got it home. Can’t fault it at all. Update from two years ago, can’t collect a takeaway as regularly as we used to, however it is ALWAYS a treat when we do. Same good food, excellent selection and such lovely staff, it’s like we’ve never been away! Another 5 stars still 👍🏻👍🏻

I travel all over the country & today, after driving 260 miles, the BEST place to eat is Taj Mahal in Sandy which also is my daughter's favourite local Indian restaurant & take away. You have the friendliest staff & delicious food from an extensive menu. Just what I needed after a very long day, thank you!

Tried here for a takeaway tonight as we’ve just moved to the area. Easy ordering online and a 10% discount for collection which was good. The man who met us at the restaurant and got our food was polite and friendly and the food was delicious. Very impressed.

Lovely place Very kind staff And delicious 😋 food

I have dined in the restaurant, and had takeaway delivered on a number of occasions. My food has always been excellent standard, promptly delivered whether to table or door. The severe allergy I have to one single ingredient has never fazed the staff, they simply prepare my meal accordingly. I'd highly recommend the Tajmahal for service, anbience and food standards.

We went for a meal here last night with a large group. The service was fab, food was out in good time and tasted amazing! They also had a dart board where you could win free food which was a nice bit of fun for the evening! 10/10 will return!

We had a lovely evening, they catered for 10 of us and got us involved in a game of darts to win free starters, drinks and mains. The food was great and they were really kind, would eat here again!

Slightly odd experience. Rarely have I had to request a menu in a restaurant as its normally the first thing you are given when you get there. The food was OK, although a bit bland. Service was adequate although I got the sense the staff needed a bit more training. The prices are good and you do get value for money. The beers were nice and cold too. Overall an OK experience but nothing stood out.

Prompt, polite, couldn’t ask for more. Amazing!

Average food, questionable portions, incorrect item, didn't respond to me when I emailed - which was within 20 minutes of delivery, 4 days ago. King Prawn Puree - not even a child's portion (see pic) and burnt chapati. Seekh Kebab - good size, but dry & lacking taste. Aloo Gobi - very little taste Chicken Korma - ok. Some dry, chewy pieces of chicken. Vegetable Biryani - asked for Korai curry, instead of vegetable. Got the basic 'vegetable' with 2 pieces of potato, a few pieces of sweetcorn and 3 pieces of cabbage. Curry itself was of a very poor quality in taste. Tasted like they'd just made it with bog standard curry powder, instead of from scratch with spices. Not recommended.

Haven't ordered here for a while as it has been hit and miss since new ownership. Tonight was a really good pathia and tikka massala. However, what has happened to the chicken tikka cheese naan? Won't be ordering one of them again at a fiver for a bit of bread and a sprinkle of chicken.

Best Korma we've had in a while. Garlic mushrooms were strangely Italian tasting, rather than Indian... Veg biryani was fine. Garlic naan was tasty.

Having been to India 15 years ago I went off British Indian cuisine overnight, it’s not a patch on authentic fresh Indian. However, this restaurant is one of a rare handful I actually enjoyed. Realising I had no food in the fridge, I ordered as a takeaway and was pleasantly surprised by just how fresh and delicious the food was. Yes it’s still British Indian but it didn’t taste over processed like most I have tried. The delivery driver was very nice too. Think this will be my go to Indian from now on.

I just ordered a takeaway from just eat using this restaurant, considering I live two minutes away the food was cold and the popodoms were burnt , sadly I will not be ordering from this restaurant again

Sorry but disappointed. I have ordered vegetable samosas and I have received lamb samosas and I don't like lamb, so husband has had it all. Chicken Tikka Masala and Korma based on coconut oil, so sweet, too sweet, like a dessert! Had loads of Tikka Masalas in different restaurants and never ever could taste such a strong coconut flavour. If I would like to have chicken in coconut sauce, I would order one. Food was on time but only just warm.

Not sure what's happened to the taj but I've just possibly had the worst indian takeaway I've ever experienced in my life! Late delivery, Luke warm food. & Paid £15 for the top quality curry that was full of bones and flavourless I won't be ordering again

Extremely friendly guys, I walked in and we had a great conversation about the us (I’m American) will definitely return, I believe in supporting businesses that show amazing customer service which they did, very clean and good food.

Very clean, friendly staff and mostly well cooked and tasty food. I would return if only for the sweet buttery delicious onion bhajis and the delicately flavoured chicken tikka. I suspect its hit and miss but the dishes are mostly of a high standard, well seasoned and not greasy or over-spiced. I found the chips to be a little dry, additionally the tarka daal was flavourless, almost as if they had boiled the lentils, thrown in some coriander and dished it up. Of all the restaurants in the area I would say they are probably the best as, similarly, the tarka daal from biggles lounge in biggleswade can vary from watery to thick porridge depending on who makes it. I will be returning and will recommend to others.

We returned here after a long absence and had a fantastic evening . Starting with the tasty homemade chutneys , wow far better than we’ve had in other restaurants in town. We made a good choice of mains , I had my usual jalfrazi with prawns , an exceptional dish , accompanied with special fried rice , very tasty . The staff were so friendly , polite and made it a splendid evening

Used this place for 10 years and recommended many people in the past.Taj provided a fantastic banquet for my partners 40th birthday.for 40 people and then a further banquet night for twenty. This was our go to place once a week on top of this. I place an order from there tonight and it arrives 25mins late, cold and burnt. I speak over the phone but they do not care and then the guy hangs up on me.. Well you have guessed it, bye bye no more business from me. I will spread the word and this restaurant will now be avoided from this point on.

I have had the same meal from here at least twice before and enjoyed it. Absolutely awful last night, no flavour in anything and no sauce in the curry. Best part was the plain naan bread and that’s saying something!! Shame, threw half of it away.

Not sure on this now, seems to be under new management. I have had the same dish for the last 3 years and it has always been tasty. Last night, it was far too hot, despite my asking for medium and tasted a bit bland. A mention to the waiter was met with "i'll mention it to the chef". Disappointing really as it used to be great.

We love the Taj Mahal in Sandy. Wonderful, friendly place. Food is really tasty and spiced perfectly. Staff really polite. We had tandoori mixed grill, chicken shaslik (a favourite of mine), bindhi and saag bajhi (sorry for the wrong spelling), Naan served with Cobra. Top place !

Usually excellent but tonight tasted like it was made yesterday but we all have busy weeks and need to cut corners now and then.

From start to finish it is always a great experience going to the Taj Mahal, the staff are always welcoming and provide great service throughout the meal. The food is fantastic and in great portions. The price is very reasonable. I would definitely recommend it to anyone in the area.

We celebrated my father in laws 60th birthday here this evening. Every dish was just perfect(there was 8 of us) with starters and mains. We had a vegetarian and a fussy teenager and they were both well catered for. The atmosphere is so welcoming in the restaurant and the staff went above and beyond. Thankyou Taj Mahal for a perfect evening with amazing food. Highly recommend!

Excellent food in decent sized portions. As a group of 7 we had quite a range of meals at their Thursday evening banquet, and we were all content and unfortunately most left some as there was just too much to eat! Definitely a place to go back to again 🙂
