This was our first meal after landing in London and we were overwhelmed with the amazing food and service. The manager was kind, helpful, and pleasant. My husband and I love Indian food and this restaurant is at the top of our list.

Went to this restaurant to eat in for the first time as we always order a delivery and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of food and service. The final pleasantl surprise came at the end of the evening when the bill arrived. Very very reasonable for amount and the quality of food we received. Highly recommended!

The food was tasty here. My brother and I ordered, a vegetable samosa, garlic naan, keema naan, pilau rice, butter chicken, lamb bhuba and saag paneer for £32. All were flavourful and we left happy! I will come back again

I used to eat here many years ago so was looking forward to my return. Shame the Restraunt wasn’t looking forward to having customers as much. Asked to sit looking at a wall, no thank you. What would you like, err not sure how about one of these 3 dishes, they are all different which one you want? Hmm hoping for a little bit more than that. Can I order off the menu, if you can do a Tandorri chicken off the bone Bhundia Balti I’ll have that. Have chicken tikka balti. No tandorri? No this is the same thing. Giving up I agreed. I must have been speaking with the owner as his suggestion was more about profit than giving the client anything like wheat they asked for. The chicken was all ready to go into any dish people ordered. As we all know this means there is no currying, so plain chicken dropped into an even plainer sauce. There were no positives but being hungry ate quickly and left. To have someone so uninterested in the food they are selling is a true first for me. But having now tasted the food I get the lack of enthusiasm. Sorry one positive was the food was very clean tasting and fresh just no identifiable taste.

Seven PM on a Friday evening. No other customers (we should have got the hint). Four of us plus a baby in pushchair wanting to order takeaway and have a drink whilst waiting. Proprietor very rude - didn't want us to sit inside (it was raining outside). Left him and his bad attitude, but no other customers, to go somewhere much more welcoming.

Very disappointed. Food was average it's just a big standard Indian with not much about it. Wine is reasonably priced. Food suitably average. As Putney oldest Indian retained by the same owner you really would have thought the service would be better. They now cater more to their takeaway business than the only table in the restaurant on what wasn't an even busy night. I have been a Putney resident for over a decade and have to say I would rather eat at the Munal at the bottom of the Dover house road. The food is far superior the portions are bigger and the staff actually care about their clientele. Go to a restaurant that cares. Avoid here it's average a best! Sadly....

The food was ok.. the baji's & semosa's certainly frozen and the chicken tandor was not cooked in a tandoor and was not even red... When we asked to order we received a grunt from the one waiter struggling to service the one of the only other 2 parties in the restaurant.. when we asked another he barked 'when I am ready' ... when they he eventually came back he popped his head round the corner and goes 'what?'. The chicken was pale in the chicken tikka but the sauce and the nan's good. The Chicken Pathia (ordered Medium) came as a lamb pathia and was incredibly hot. The kitchen can order one set of meals at a time so do not order after a party and be expected to wait your turn... 'The oldest curry house in putney' should extend their mantra; 'And we haven't changed a bit' if the service / staff don't change this place will not be here much longer

Found this on our first night in London! Wow, it was so good! Requested the red lentils to be a little spicy, they were excellent. Had sag paneer, coconut rice, and a lamb dish in a cashew sauce. Garlic naan was delicious. Everything seemed to be made fresh, not a quick serve but worth the wait. Every time we walk past, it appears empty, such a shame people are missing out on an extraordinary meal! We highly recommend it.

Called by to get takeaway on our way home and decided to stay and dine. Had a great time - Zaafer was a fantastic, attentive lovely waiter and we had a great chat with the owner at the end of the night - it is the oldest restaurant in Putney owned by the original family that started it! The peshwari naan was the best I have ever had in my life! Thanks for a lovely evening!

The fact that this place promotes its score of 4/5 for cleanliness on the door is something of a warning. It IS very clean - but the service is haphazard, bordering on bizarre, and the food is decidedly average. Not the worst Indian meal I've eaten, but a fairly pedestrian experience. Don't go on a special occasion.

My husband & I love this restaurant for a take away...we can't sit in the restaurant because they've had the same music playing on repeat in the there for 4 years, argh!!! That aside, the dishes are great & fresh, the chicken bhuna & the prawn puri are fantastic. The naans are light & airy too. I'd recommend they'd start giving complimentary popadoms with orders over £20, like most indian takeaways though.

As a group of 16 we attended this restaurant for a Christmas party, we arrived at 6.30pm and asked if our tables could be split to make the bills easier. The drinks and starters took over 45mins to order and arrive, and our other table were served first and the drinks and starters all arrived where as no one has come to even take our order from us.We then had to wait over 2 hours for the mains to arrive, again there was a 20 min gap between the two tables, when we eventually received our mains the other table has finished eating! All our mains arrived cold, some were sent back to be re-warmed. Then a friend found a curly hair imbedded into the naan bread, we informed the assistant manager who came over and advised us that she could not see a hair, she then ran down to the kitchen only to say that there was nobody in the kitchen with curly hair so it could not be one of her staff, after firstly saying there was no hair in the first place. She then advised us that it must have been off the brushes that they brush the food with however this hair was long and curly and was imbedded within the food. We were so disgusted with the food and service no one ate any of the food, we paid for our drinks and left.We were also advised by the assistant manager that if we were unhappy with the food we should have said from the start if not we were not to come back! Our whole party advised at the start that they were unhappy with the cold food that we had to wait over 2 hours for!Id you are looking for a indian restaurant with good food and excellent service stay away from this one!

This is nothing special but is well situated in Putney and I believe is one of only two Indian restaurants in Putney, the other of which looks positively dreadful from the outside. However, this lack of competition may explain the food, which was ok, but nothing special. Watery curry, watery rice etc etc. This may also explain the price, which was a staggering 39 quid for THREE people. An absolute bargain, but don´t expect a great curry. You won´t get it. I would like to thank them for staying open so late though. Good people.

We had never been here before and so we rolled the dice and took our chances. I have to say that I was quite surprised at the overall quality of the food, albeit the portions were a bit on the small side.Three things that let this place down are that they are stingy on the chutneys - way too little for 4 people, the service is a bit on the slow side and they don't seem to like working late - at 11pm they really wanted us to leave and close up.I wouldn't rush back, but I would say give it a try if you happen to be in the area.

A place definitely go to if you like South Indian food! They do have Indo Chinese menu but not after B’fast hours. I was a bit disappointed with that since I wanted to try a few of their food. Otherwise their food was delicious and not too pricy. I would recommend you reserve a table if you going later in the day as it gets busy. I ordered their Chole Bhaturas and man was I not disappointed with that at all. The Bature was the size of my whole plate. 😎

"I recently ordered from here and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The packaging was secure and eco-friendly, keeping the food warm and fresh upon arrival. I tried the Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Rogan Josh, Garlic Naan, and Vegetable Biryani. The Chicken Tikka Masala was rich and creamy, with perfectly tender chicken pieces that absorbed the flavorful tomato-based sauce. The Lamb Rogan Josh had a deep, aromatic flavor with succulent lamb that fell apart effortlessly. The Garlic Naan was soft, with just the right amount of char and garlic flavor, perfect for scooping up the sauces. The Vegetable Biryani was a fragrant blend of spices, with each grain of rice separate and full of flavor, offering a great balance of vegetables. What stood out the most was the authenticity of the flavors and the quality of the ingredients. It's clear that great care goes into preparing each dish, making it a standout choice for Indian takeaway. Whether you're a fan of spicy curries or milder dishes has something to offer everyone. I highly recommend it for anyone craving delicious, authentic Indian cuisine at home.
