A pleasant experience, but so much potential to be much, much, more. There was no-one to greet, eventually got shown to a table with seating very cramped. This was quickly resolved. Service for drinks and poppadoms could have been much quicker. You can bring your own drink and pay £10 corkage. The lighting and ambience was that of a lunch/bistro venue, dinner felt out of place. The food and beer was excellent, and the staff were extremely polite, relaxed, and friendly. I would 100% get a takeaway, but needs some aesthetic improvement before a possible return.

Delicious food, beautiful restaurant and excellent service. We had poppadoms to start, which to our surprise were made fresh in house, they were served warm with chutneys - 10/10!! For main we had chicken bhuna, chicken karahi with garlic and chilli naan and mushroom rice. Extremely flavoursome!! The atmosphere was nice and relaxed for a Saturday evening - would definitely go again!

This is one of, if not the best hidden gems in London. We sit on the terrace in Battersea Square and while away the afternoon sipping ice cold beer, Delish crisp pappadoms and the tenderest of tender baby lamb curry - WOW !!! Love it and can’t wait to come back !!! Hassan the owner is a total legend, very warm welcoming and genuine guy !!!

We went as a large party to the Rickshaw for old times sake and , sadly, it is not what it was. We were a party of 10 and had booked a month ago so it's not as if they didn't expect us. The restaurant was very quiet but the food took an age to come (50 minutes) and when it did, it came in dribs and drabs leaving us to sit without rice and without side dishes until someone in the kitchen got things going. The food was passable and the atmosphere a bit sad; it has seen better days. Not cheap.

Our order included Chicken Tikka Biryani, Paneer Makhani, Butter Naan, and Lassi. The biryani was disappointingly akin to tasteless fried rice, and its sauce was spoiled. The Paneer Makhani's excessive sweetness made it resemble a dessert rather than a traditional curry, prompting us to return it. The Butter Naan, on the other hand, was similar to Tandoori Roti and was quite acceptable. I generally don’t leave negative reviews, but after our experience, I cannot recommend this place.

I can’t fault this curry house, it’s the best I have ever had and I’ve been to some amazing places including one that has a. Michelin star, Rickshaw knocks than all out of the park. The owner is super friendly who can help with suggestions, how hot 🌶️ you like your curry and just a super nice guy. High quality and very reasonably priced. 24 hours later and we are still talking about how amazing it was. I can’t recommend this place highly enough, it’s 150% give it a try wether dine in or take out.

After having visited Rickshaw 4 times, I can no longer contain my love for this restaurant. First and foremost, the food is INCREDIBLE. Every time I have visited, the owner Hassan has given incredible recommendations and never let us down. He creates a fantastic atmosphere and provides first class service. Secondly, the value for money is brilliant - pints literally cost FIVE POUNDS which is a rare phenomenon in London. The restaurant is located in Battersea square and I couldn’t think of a more picturesque place to spend a chilled summers evening. If you’re unsure whether to pay this restaurant a visit, do yourself a favour and give it a go. You won’t regret it and you may well find your new favourite restaurant. I certainly have!

Haven’t had such bad food in a restaurant for a while. The dal makhani was oversalty boiled lentils, the ‘veg karahi’ was mainly potatoes and onions with 2 small squares of green pepper. The chapati was actually roti. They did replace the lentils when we complained but it could not make up for the bad food unfortunately. It was all bland and tasteless. The waiter/owner was however nice and his service was good. But it was a wasted £120 for us.

Went for the first time yesterday evening. The staff were lovely. Attentive without being intrusive to our meal. Tge food was excellent. And the restaurant is in a great location in Battersea square. We hadn't finished all our food, and they offered to box it up. My wife mentioned that it was mainly sauce and the waiter offered yo put some more chicken in for us before we took it away. We politely declined as we were so full, but great service. I'd recommend chicken karachi.

I am pleased that the rickshaw reopened. They continue to serve original dishes which are slightly different to what you would find in nearby curry houses. The flavours are not as bold/intense as when they first arrived on the square - the beetroot lamb has become quite a gentle dish - but the food is still delicious. Their staff, especially Nikita, are very friendly.

Enjoyed the food and service. Reasonably priced with a good mix of usual food offering and other dishes. The only downside is the loudness of the music that was playing during some of our visit there. Gracias Battersea rickshaw! Volveremos muy pronto :)

Lovely setting in Battersea Square, however I felt that Battersea Rickshaw is a little over priced for what it is and they don't like people going there just for drinks - there is a 'secret' £10 minimum spend on cards.

On a Saturday night no more than 3 tables of about 20 were occupied at any one time. This was a little surprising as the food was very good, although maybe a little pricey. The service was efficient and pleasant enough, although obviously the staff were hardly stretched. The location is excellent (in Battersea context) and the restaurant room is good enough. So why so few locals? We saw no evidence of a roaring takeaway trade either. Maybe they went through a bad patch and the locals deserted them. One does feel however that if the management could by some marketing/pricing initiative get people back in, there might be a much needed momentum to turn this round. If we are representative of their potential market, they do have a big problem, but one which can be overcome. We would not go back here now simply on the basis that we do not enjoy eating in an empty restaurant, especially on a Saturday night. For the same reason we have to warn others if they feel similarly. If however we knew that the place would be populated with a few more fellow diners, we would be happy to return for the food, even at the prices we paid, and recommend others to do so. Just a thought.

This used to be a lovely restaurant, lots of choice etc, then about 5 or so years ago they decided to 'do it up' and change the menu. Ok, fair enough, however the menu became very limited and it hasn't changed since. We thought we'd try it again as it was a nice evening and you can sit outside. We went past and saw they had a bbq on the go. We asked if in fact they were doing a bbq and they said yes. LIARS!!! We ordered our food FROM the bbq menu but there was absolutely nothing going on on the bbq. We were puzzled, the restaurant was basically empty. Anyway our food arrived, how was this bbqed? It was not impressive to look at, in fact it was really 'scrawny' we sat and waited, and waited, and waited for our sides, no sign of them. We asked where they were and were told that they had a lot of takeaways!!!! SORRY, I have thought people sat in a restaurant with half their food would have taken priority? I now know why this restaurant was empty, it deserves to be. NO apology, no drink on the house and it certainly isn't cheap. I think the only way this restaurant gets any custom is the fact that it is the only one in the area. There is an empty restaurant just opposite I pray that someone opens a decent Indian restaurant to show Battersea Rickshaw what service, food and looking after the customer is all about. Seriously, don't bother!

As close to daylight robbery as I have ever come. I would have been happier being mugged for the following reasons:Both of us were ill this morning.1). Pay £3.50 for poppadoms - when we were half way through these the starter was brought and they took the poppadoms away. You never have to pay for poppadoms (even in London).2). My chicken Tikka bbq starter - charged at the price of £6.95, contained 3 cubes of chicken. Price of chicken and spices cannot be more than £1 at wholesale prices - markup = >600%. This is unacceptable even in London.3). Chefs special BBQ Asian meat. I assume this was a poussin or maybe partridge (it could have been rat). Either way there was barely any meat on it and for £8.95 I expected something that might have some substance.4). Cobra beer - £5.90 for a big bottle. This had been bought wholesale and was near its sell-by date end.5). The service were surly and seemed inconvenienced. When it came to pay I had to work the card machine myself for both payments because they left the machine on the table and went off to who knows where.

Interior decor is relaxing and makes you feel immediately comfortable, not bollywood and not too OTT either.Food selection is very good, but slightly over priced for what it is, having said that, we were in Battersea near the river so a little extra cost is somewhate expected.Good wine selection and service was swift and attentive, even though I had to repeat myself a few times but when we finally started understanding each other (the waiter and I) the service was above average. Will be returning here for sure, well worth the visit for general or special occasions as it has a large dining area which looks as it can cater for parties up to around 50 separately from one half of the restaurant too!Food by the way, was excellent and very tasty.
