"I recently ordered from here and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The packaging was secure and eco-friendly, keeping the food warm and fresh upon arrival. I tried the Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Rogan Josh, Garlic Naan, and Vegetable Biryani. The Chicken Tikka Masala was rich and creamy, with perfectly tender chicken pieces that absorbed the flavorful tomato-based sauce. Something very very different about the food from Rajan rowing Balham these days- I have been having regular weekly takeaways from here ever since I moved to Balham 9 years ago and the food has always been excellent however, my last two experiences have not been so good with my regular dishes being so hot they are inedible. Not sure if new chef or new supplier of chilli’s used but come on chefs please taste the food before passing onto loyal customers. I did complain but it fell on deaf ears so I have decided to try another restaurant in Balham.

Had the Tandori mixed grill for 2 people there were no prawns humerus amounts of onions there was no poppadoms r nann bread that used to come with your meal was cold if you want rice you have to pay extra my partner had March kebab was cold and yet again loads of onions wasn't worth the money I paid won't be eating here again

After ordering from here on just eat, was over an hour late. Food was cold, ordered a mixed grill that was not cheap! Bit into some chicken tikka which was extremely chewy and taste funny. Looked inside completely pink and raw. Complained and sent a picture to just eat who have still not refunded me. Stay away from this place unless you want to get seriously ill.

An underwhelming experience. Having lived in Leicester which boasts some of the finest Indian cuisine in the UK, after ordering a clearly microwaved meal from here, I got a touch of the runs! Never happened before. Won't be ordering again!

I order regularly for Indian takeaway and cannot fault this company in any form. We have just taken delivery of our order this evening and realised the nan bread was missing. It was not a big problem as so pleased with the service but called them to state. Within 15 minutes, there was a knock on the door with a hot replacement nan bread, 2 poppadums, onion bhajis, and one Kingfisher beer. That is what I call SERVICE !Thank you guys

I ordered food 28th October. The person on the other end of the phone was polite and professional. When the food arrived it was in an impressive trademarked presentation box. The food was warm and a delight to serve. The puff pastry on the simosas were light and crunchy the chicken ru ru was divine. The rest of the meal was a delight, so much so that I had to call the restaurant to compliment them. An overall positive experience!

Do not order from here: I placed an order on 28th October which was rejected as I ended up outside the catchment area. I received an email saying the order was reject and I would not be charged. I have in fact been charged and despite 4 attempts of contact I have been ignored and not given any refund. Horrendous customer service and company conduct.

So so bland, over cooked chicken, rubber naan. With so many options for Indian food these days, don't waste your time here. For the price they are charging, more than anywhere else, how are they still open

I went here cos I had heard good things and went through the reviews, they are good! They have very high quality food, the price is fair. Starters were delicious beyond my exceptions, the sweetness and the tartness of the sauce was perfectly balanced, curries were delicately made and the tasted great. Basically just get the Asian inspired flavors! My impression – this is a great place for takeaway.

You know a place is good when you get multiple recommendations from various friends. Four different friends recommended . I definitely wanted to eat Indian food but from a good place , so I was determined to try Rajah Rowing. It took me three tries to order there, but when I finally did have order from there, I was not disappointed.The chicken were extremely tender and exploding with rich seasonings. A blackened crust on the outside forms a layer of purely blissful taste that gives way to the moist, soft thigh meat underneath. Fantastic dish! The spices really bring everything else to life, and gives your meal the kick it needs. The mutton is very tender and the sauce really penetrates the meat. Even the naan is amazing at Rajah Rowing. Amazing garlic-y flavors- soft, fresh, and doughy. Service lighting fast. Also this place is VERY AFFORDABLE. A+ in every regard.

I will definitely have to give it a few more goes, I really don't like to review based on a limited number of experiences, but after two visits here I'm going to say I'm wholeheartedly sold and can already say this will be my curry place of choice. Absolutely different to any Indians around, glorious, packed with flavors. All in all I'm thrilled this place is top class and can't wait to try a few more of this offering. Must try!!

An amazingly delicious and outstanding food, were treated like King and Queen and experienced a wonderful evening. It is worth the splurge. The menu here suits anyones needs. It is such a delight to find this place that wears hearts of their sleeves. Can tell this will become a local of mine.

A must in South London, definitely not as sort of a punchline to a bad joke. Food is in reality hearty, delicious and suited to the terrier. If you like things that are actually tasty at a really affordable price then this spot is worth a order. Service is friendly and lightning fast. Amazing!!

Easily my favourite takeaway! I should have written my review many time before! Each dish is so good how do I do it justice in words alone. I can't really think of anything bad to say about them. The presentation with the box has never been more vibrant, I don't know how this could ever go wrong and it was pretty magical. Super fast delivery......Highly recommend!

The food was incredible, so flavourful but lite. Wonderful portions with balsamic reduction. We enjoyed every bite and every course was worthy of five stars. For the price, it is reasonable for what they charge, can’t get much better than what they offer. This was one of our better takeaways! Definitely earned re- order!!

Ordered a delivery as a family treat, but was really disappointed by the lack of flavour in all of the dishes, both allegedly spicy and not. Unlikely to buy again in a hurry.

First time using this restaurant - it was recommended by a trusted friend who loves it. The food came very well presented and clean. However, it was cold. I ordered Chicken Bhuna and Mushroom Rice and they were both lacking lots of flavours which was disappointing. It was quite bland which was unfortunate because I enjoyed everything else.

Meal was excellent, best I've had for a long while. I will certainly order from them again.

The quality of food from Rajah Rowing Team is probably the best I’ve ever experienced from an Indian restaurant. Nothing is greasy, meat and chicken is tender and of high quality, and sauces are tasty. It’s a bit pricier than many others but entirely worth it, in my opinion. Highly recommended.

Very average considering price and reputation

Takeaway from Deliveroo. The food was lovely, flavoursome and hot. I had onion bhaji, the raita was delicious. Also ordered lamb tikka masala, a fab lentil and spinach dish and plain naan.

The best Indian takeaway I have ever had

I ordered two curries from and both dishes were tasteless, i called up the restaurant and spoke to the manager who simply said we don’t offer refunds. You could get a better curry out of a jar, taste like it’s a microwave meal. DO NOT USE THEM.

The portion sizes were perfect (full after eating with some leftover for lunch). The chicken portions were generous and of good quality meat and the sauces were tasty. Popadoms were nicely packaged in twos and the sauces were plentiful and delicious.

Very quick, nice staff and of course, excellent curry The staff are very flexible as well and know what is in each dish Can vouch that the bhuna, dhansak, mixed grill, madrasi fish curry, jalfrezi and madras are all excellent.

Please note, this restaurant is trying to rebrand itself as the “Giggling Ganesh”. Well, they may be laughing but we’re certainly not. Looking at the reviews below - they’re still up to the same old antics of unreliable service. Place an order at your peril... who knows if your food will actually turn up?! Today we ordered our food at 19:25pm and was told it would be 40min. 1 hour later, no sign of our food so I called up and was told the driver is bringing my food now and it would be with me in the time it takes to drive from the restaurant to my home. That should have been 5min (it’s an 11min walk). 1hr and 30min later still no food and now the restaurant isn’t picking up my calls. A little honesty goes a long way. Just say there’s a delay. Given the option we would have walked and picked up the food ourselves. We received no apologies. When the food finally arrived (after 9pm) it was cold, the king prawn jalfrezi had 4 dry chewy prawns... I initially thought it was chicken the gobi had little flavour and was hard/underdone.

I had lamb tikka masala and I can’t even describe the taste. no taste of any spices. a supermarket curry was better. also arrived in these containers with a stuck on paper lid so the reason my order was delivered early was obviously these containers were stuck in the microwave. never ever again

Myself and my girlfriend ordered a takeaway, the food containers looked like they had been pre-cooked. Frozen then taken out the fridge and warmed up in the microwave. DISGUSTING. My girlfriend ordered a chicken biryani and it tasted like 3-day old rice mixed in with tomato puree - had no flavour whatsoever

I got home from work and was looking forward to a lovely Indian meal. I usually get from another restaurant though made the mistake of opting for a change. Food arrived on time though there is more taste in the sole of my work boot. My friend got a chicken dansak and it can only be described as 5 pieces of chicken with half a can of sweetcorn with a foul tasting sauce. Will not make the mistake again of trying something new. Would not recommend this place at all.

Food was good but portion size was quite small

I'm not sure if Rajah in Putney has shut down or not - On a friday evening I put in an order through their website. 30 minutes later an email came through saying the order had been cancelled. Then they charged me anyway !! No-one picked up the phone that evening, so I can only assume they've gone out of business.

This place used to make easily the best curry in Putney, however over the last few months the quality of the food is sadly let down by the delivery times. Today, after yet another near two hour wait I went to the place and got my food. To be fair I got a refund and freshly cooked food but it's just not worth it any more. Food used to be amazing but now its only just average. The woman on the front desk just lies all the time, phone is broken, website is broken etc etc.

Absolutely great food and service

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. After one hour and a quarter (25mins after the delivery was due) we started calling the restaurant. It just rang and rang. After an hour and a half we realised it simply wasn't coming; and had to cancel the order and get a refund. Completely ruined and wasted our evening. Disgraceful.

Used to be my favourite curry house, now the service has deteriorated and food is tasteless. Waited 2.5 hours for my curry last night. In the end I drove there to collect and they had no clue what was going on. Interestingly there was another person returning theirs, claiming it was the worst curry they’d had. When I finally got mine it was cold and tasteless. Never again.
