Tailors Eating House in Cheltenham

So, Tailors has some new additions to the menu! Last week we both tried the Shepard’s pie, absolutely delicious! Big chunks of lamb and really creamy mash! Yesterday, I tried the toad in the hole and was once again really pleased with my meal. Really tasty sausages and home mad Yorkshire pud, really lovely. Comfort food at its best. I’m moving on to their new range of jacket spuds next. See you soon team Tailors!

Nice atmosphere pub for watching live sport in centre of Cheltenham. Food is good. Service ok.

We are from Chicago and wanted to watch the Bears play in London. A TripAdvisor search came up with Tailors as a place that televises sports. We made a reservation online and followed up with a call to secure a table in front of a tv to watch the game. Tailors staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. We had a delightful Sunday Roast and as a bonus our team won. Many thanks!

We came for dinner, found the ambience warm and welcoming. The bar staff were attentive, and everywhere was clean. We ordered food, and had a slight issue with the pies, but it was dealt with swiftly and professionally. Would recommend.

Highly recommend the roast dinner. We 3 all had different Pork,Beef and Lamb. Meet and greet was great shown to table. Table service throughout was exceptional. Food presentation was top level. Taste superb. Aspall cider on tap was a bonus and reasonably priced. Overall. Yes yes yes. Top Sunday roast you will not be disappointed. No pictures. Just enjoyed it.

me and my friends went to watch the football this weekend. throughout the match the rest of my group of 6 ordered plenty of pints and we were having a nice time. up until a member of staff came up to me and said that i hadn’t ordered anything the whole time and that it is selfish and rude of me to watch the football and not drink anything. i tried to explain that my friends had been drinking plenty but she wasn’t interested in listening to me, only getting in my face and talking about how rude and inconsiderate i am, she also spoke about how abhorrent it was of me to leave to get something quick to eat, i did this only because we had asked a different staff member if they were still serving food and he said no. after she finished berating me she went to other tables near by and loudly told them how rude and inconsiderate i am and asked them if they agree. i sat there for a moment quite taken aback by how she spoke to me and she loudly said form the other side of the bar that if i felt guilty i should just leave because i was “winding her up sitting there” she never gave me a chance to explain that i have many personal for not drinking or she just didn’t care. i left in tears at how horribly she spoke to me and have absolutely no plans to go back as long as that foul woman is still there.

We were so lucky to have our wedding reception at this beautiful venue. The staff have been amazing from start to finish, helping us make our wedding the most magical day ever. We can't thank each and everyone one of you for your help, support advice and for generally making it happen. The buffet food was AMAZING 👏 the guests were so complimentary about it. The person who decorated the venue did a fab job and the personal touches were lovely. We were both speechless. We can't thankyou guys enough, we will be back without a doubt for the next event, love the new newlyweds Steve and Jemma Hawkins.

Called in for a drink ended up staying for a Sunday lunch as it looked amazing - can confirm the food was as good add it looked!! Service was fab too the found us a table and looked after us and our dog would defo recommend

Popped in to grab some lunch whilst I worked in between meetings. Chicken burger was fantastic (with Stilton). Great service from the usually smiley Tailors' Team. Great place to grab a bite a do some work .....really good internet access and WiFi coverage

Needed a quick feed before a theatre trip, stumbled upon this place. WHAT A WIN! Lovely staff with a very warm welcome and incredible food. I went for the chicken burger while my mother decided on fish and chips, 10/10 for both meals. The batter was thin and light yet crispy and perfect on the fish. The burger, wow! Where to begin, come hungry if you want one its huge, juicy and absolutely delicious. Well done team! Thank you for the lovely meal and service. Highly highly recommend and I will be back!!

Absolutely disgusting meal. Ordered two meal's, both steak. We we're polite but staff were not trained, no steak knife to start, didn't ask how we wanted the steaks and when they came tough as old boots and raw. Mentioned to the young girl, and never replied or Mentioned it to management so it could be resolved. Would never recommend to anyone. Waited a couple of days, what a surprise, no reply from the management, or maybe an apology. Even though they might have offered money back by bank transfer. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE OF THIS POST.

Wither with the boys or the family, this pub ticks all the boxes. Food, service and general atmosphere is consistently top. One of the go to places when my family or friends come from out of town.

Thursday afternoon popped in for a drink . Wife had white wine, I had 1/2 Horizon, friendly barman, let me have a small taste first. More lively then Cotswold inn we were in earlier. Also a young barmaid stopped to chat I had a map with me which was a quiz and she was very helpful but said she had get back to work, she was interacting with customers.👍👍

We held a private party on Saturday 10th August , the food was amazing, the staff are all incredibly friendly, helpful and welcoming. Ames was absolutely fantastic and helful with anything we needed. 5 stars all round

I've been here before 3 years earlier. My old workplace were celebrating 20 years. I liked the vibe and spacious rooms but 7 quid for a pint of IPA!! Cheaper in Birmingham! Won't be back for another 3 years if at all! Spectre, spoons, Bentleys, Yates cheaper!

This can be a brilliant place and on this occasion the staff were impressive and the food very enjoyable. Sometimes it can be over crowded due to sporting events and be aware that if there is racing on it almost always takes precedence over football. Rugby comes 2nd. Understandable due to income and punters so check in advance if looking to watch football and always try to book a table. Generally a really good place with very hard working staff.

Went to your venue on Sunday, for lunch,admittedly had not booked,you graciously made up a table for myself and daughter,food and service was very professional!! A great venue,beautiful building plenty of staff ,nice atmosphere, and amazing well cooked food,will definitely recommend to friends and family and go back again.

Ordered food and beer at the bar. We were confused by the price and on checking, it turns out that a service charge had been added. Apparently the service charge is ‘optional’ but it wasn’t mentioned before being applied. Also if you get a beer from the bar, there is absolutely no case for adding service to the beer anyway.

Ordered from the new Tapas menu, can totally recommend, delicious and good portions. Staff friendly and welcoming, see you again soon 😁

Not only is this pub the best in town for a Sunday roast & live sporting events , they’ve now gone and raised the bar even further & smashed it with fantastic tapas. Popped in yesterday evening with some friends , great selection and amazing flavours. Well done team Tailors .We will be back

Lived in Cheltenham for 41 years and always forget to pay this place a visit. First time visit today with my daughter and its a fantastic little venue! Fantastic food. Their white chocolate cheesecake was the best cheesecake I have ever eaten (and I have eaten a lot!) Staff were extremely helpful and were very friendly. The atmosphere is great. Plus they are dog friendly.

This has to be my favourite pub in Cheltenham! Had the Sunday lunch for the first time on Sunday and it was 10/10. They have live music and show all the sports and racing! Staff were great! Can’t wait to book in again!

I can't rate the food because we didn't eat. It was easy to sit out late at night. I have to say that Cheltenham was not a particularly pleasant place after 11pm. That is not the fault of the pub.

Just had Sunday lunch with the family, and as usual Tailors delivered 100%. The food is amazing, the service is outstanding. It’s not our first visit and will not be our last. If you want a top notch Sunday roast with very attentive staff then look no further than Tailors. Yet another superb Sunday lunch followed by what is thee best I’ve seen and tasted, a traditional cheeseboard, absolutely amazing. Don’t hesitate to visit Tailors the excellent host and her great team will ensure you have a great visit…

I have eaten here several times over the past year, mostly for a Sunday Roast. Their roasts are amazing, good tasting food and huge portions

Haven't visited this place for a while but it won't be long before we're back again. The four of us had a fantastic Sunday lunch, in fact the best we've had for a while. Excellent service from an eager young group of employees and a brilliant place to watch live sport. Highly recommend giving it a try. I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

An absolutely lovely pub/ restaurant. We had a lovely welcome from staff, which continued for the whole evening. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was delicious, we had the lamb shank it was perfect.Prices were very reasonable. We had advice on the wine menu. We would like to thank the staff and chef on their hard work. Full English breakfast with my mates yesterday 13/3 was not good. Sausages were under cooked mushrooms over cooked. Its a shame cause I eat there alot. And generally it's well cooked after they released one of their chefs.

Had a fantastic afternoon watching the Six Nations rugby in the Snug. Really attentive staff, great food, beer and atmosphere.

I've always liked coming here for drinks. First time eating here, great choice of roast meats. Service was so friendly from all of the staff.! Table service which I wasn't expecting. Food was great with top quality presentation. Banoffe pie was homemade and delicious. Definitely recommend and will be returning.!

What a great spot this pub is! Booking a table was quick and simple and the staff were more than great whilst we were there! The place was packed, as there was a rugby match on but that didn’t affect the service for food or drink! The atmosphere was great and I have to say that the staff were great! I would highly recommend for drinks, food and or watching sport!

Following recommendations I booked to go for lunch with a Friend and I’m so glad we went, it was one of the best roast dinners I’ve eaten out recently. We had the mixed meat and it was generous and perfectly cooked full of flavour, lovely selection of vegetables the cauliflower cheese was amazing and a large homemade Yorkshire , roasted potatoes crackling and parsnip, staff were so friendly and welcoming, great atmosphere I will definitely be returning!

2nd time we’ve been to Tailors for Sunday lunch and it didn’t disappoint. Great food, really attentive staff and nice atmosphere. We’ve booked again for 3 weeks time and bringing the parents and dog!

We can’t stop visiting! When I need to have Sunday lunch cooked for me and don’t have to worry about my yorkshires rising this is the place to be! Not my first review and won’t be my last. We’ve visited with just the two of us, with direct family and a full gang of friends just before Christmas. Every time we’ve visited the food has been excellent. The team at Tailors are wonderful. We held a last minute 32 person meeting in the downstairs function room and they pulled it together perfectly. The owner was incredible getting everything sorted for us.

My sister, gran and myself went to Tailors to have food and watch the football match. We were able to book a table and although running late due to having travelled from Oxford they kindly kept our table. My sister is very fussy with food but they were very helpful and her food arrived perfectly. We all thoroughly enjoyed our food and certainly would go back when we’re next in Cheltenham.

I really want to like this place, but it lacks character. Some tat arranged to look trendy does not inspire. Where's the USP?

One of our locals. We had a family Xmas meal on Sunday. The food was spectacular one of the best roasts over ever had out. Service was top class. Overall a wonderful experience.

Sunday lunch was amazing. The lamb was tender and full of flavour. The staff are awesome so friendly and helpful. So if you want a great eating experience book a table. You won't regret it.

The place I was intending on going was closed, thankfully I found this place. Quiet but pleasant, and a nice portion of fish and chips.

Went for Sunday lunch for my son's 18th birthday, food was great & generous portions. Cindy looked after us very well though all the staff were friendly & attentive. Lovely atmosphere & the landlady made an effort to go round chatting with people which was a really nice gesture. We felt really welcome & would definitely go there again when we're in Cheltenham!

Currently disappointed... Firstly, I have had some really good meals here, and have always been made to feel very welcome. However, my latest visit here means I am going to give it a break for a while. I had the fish and chips, which was only ok, by previous meals. But it was the service and blatant overcharge on this visit that has left me with a sour taste. The server charged for 2 pints of lager, I only had one and then had automatically added, not asked for, nor indicated the addition of £2.39 in service charge.

Bar staff are great, landlady has an issue with northerners so I’d avoid if you’ve travelled down, shame she ruined the pub, probably in need of a management switch up.

Came here expecting any old pub, but the service was very welcoming and thoughtful. Waitresses who said they would remember something or bring us something later did and promptly. Great experience!

We love lamb. We had a fabulous Sunday lunch. We chose garlic & rosemary lamb with all the trimmings. It was delicious. Followed by sticky toffee pudding & cream & ice cream. Perfect

I recently visited Tailors Eating House, a pub located in Cheltenham, United Kingdom, with some friends after a day of activities. Our overall experience was quite pleasant. I would definitely recommend it, and I'm giving it a solid 4-star review.

Not a great experience, will not be returning. To serve just vegetables and a Yorkshire pudding as the vegetarian Sunday lunch option, in this day and age is appalling. Not only that but the menu is extremely misleading, it reads to all (certain all in our large group) that a meat alternative is offer, not that you get the Sunday lunch just minus the meet and stuffing. Laughable. The response from staff when the issue was raised was nothing short of aggressive and frankly extremely unprofessional. Its a shame as the facilities were lovely and other dishes enjoyable.

Absolutely fantastic lunch as always!!! Staff are always so welcoming and friendly, food is always top notch!!! Sports always available on big screens, I love booking here!!!!
