We were so disappointed with our takeaway....we have been eating at this restaurant for years and during lockdown we would have a takeaway every week...it kept us sane ....but tonight we ordered a takeaway via deliveroo ...we were so disappointed with what arrived....two small plates were dried up and inedible and the fried rice was such a small portion it was tiny ....I rang the restaurant who said I could get a refund from deliveroo but after ringing them they refused and after that I could not get through to the restaurant despite ringing many times ...... We never complain....but this was just unacceptable....very upset about it.

Food was okay. Service was quick but very rushed - table for two booked for 6pm and they asked us to leave at 7.05pm - they said someone was waiting for our table even though there was plenty of tables left and our table was booked for 2 hours. Rather strange from a customer service perspective.

This restaurant has some really lovely flavour-some Thai food, the prices offer good value for money. The restaurant is small, relaxed and casual. The staff are attentive and very friendly. This is a good choice for an affordable lunch or dinner.

Dined here recently, the food was absolutely incredible. Service, the whole experience was off the charts. If you're looking for good authentic Thai food in York, look no further

We had a lovely dinner at this Thai restaurant in York. We ordered the Beef Pad Cashew, Pork Belly Pad Phed, and Tom Yum soup. Everything was delicious, especially the Tom Yum—it was heavenly. The only downside was the aubergine, which made my tongue a bit itchy, but the rest of the dishes were superb. We were so full that we didn’t have room for dessert. The service was excellent, and although we didn’t have a reservation, we were fortunate to get a table as there are only a few available. This meal truly satisfied my Thai food cravings. Thank you! 

Wonderfully authentic cuisine! We had 3 curries that were perfectly seasoned and prepared. The service was super attentive and polite. The ambience is wonderfully decorated.

Very glad we stumbled across this gem in York! The menu offers a variety of classic Thai dishes with a range of spice levels to suit every palate. We went for some of the menu's recommendations - duck spring rolls, udon hoisin with duck, and massaman curry with beef. Everything was absolutely delicious; the dishes were fragrant, light, and the portions were really reasonable so that we left full without having any leftover. Washed down with a couple of Singhas each, we left very satisfied. The restaurant is tiny, so booking is essential.

Very delicious, i rarely leave comments but it really worth a compliment! i had the udon hoisin with roasted duck (my frd ordered udon hoisin with pork belly) both are very delicious! It’s the most tasty meal i have ever had in UK so far! Highly recommend!

Attending a course in Micklegate and this cute place caught my eye. I asked for a staff recommendation between two of their special dishes and went with their suggestion of sticky spicy fried rice with beef. Absolutely delicious mix of sweet, salty and spicy, all the great features of amazing Thai food. Thanks for your hospitality and speedy service, I will definitely be coming back!

Really, really nice food and lovely little place. Cool spray painted walls. Staff are super friendly too. Pork belly starters, fried chicken. Amazing. The battered chips are a nice touch too. Would definitely eat here again.

I was in York for two days and happened upon this place for dinner. It was so good that I came back the next day for lunch. The crispy pork belly was excellent. The *** spice level was great for me.

Absolutely delicious Thai food! Generous portions, fresh flavours, well priced and great service. Would recommend the Crispy Mushrooms and Gor Rang coconut prawn dish, all dishes were delicious but these two were stand out. 100% recommend if visiting York.

Beautiful little spot right next to where I was staying. Quiet, good location, good vibes, and well priced. And genuinely, some of the best Thai food I’ve had in my life. If I’m ever in York again, I know where I’ll be eating.

We have been here several times but I have never reviewed and thought it was about time as each time we have visited, we have never been disappointed. The restaurant is very cosy and the staff was very friendly. As for the food, it was heaven, we always have the .beef noodle soup and that never dissapoint. We tried the Nue Foy today and this was to die for, crispy beef that melted in your mouth. Awesome!

Me and my partner happened to stumble upon this hidden gem whilst in york for the weekend. 10/10 Thai food. Lunch menu is amazing value and the portions are the perfect size. Service from Sarah Anne was fantastic, she is a credit to the resturant. Most definitely recommend!!

Another must eat at a small (12-14 tables) restaurant great tasty food and mank choices. Will eat here on my next visit BUT you need to call and make a reservation! We had 4 starters and 3 mains jumbo fried shrimp and egg fried rice

A lovely evening meal on every level…don’t normally write recommendations but I want this place to stay around…went looking for something different in York city centre and by chance found this little, slightly tucked-away gem of a place. Hadn’t booked (table for 2) but they cleared around and fitted us in. The boss chose her own starter and main, and I asked the waiter for his personal recommendations. We were not disappointment. All the dishes were different, delicately presented and delicious in their own right - and we were pleasantly surprised by the portion sizes too. We shared a sumptuous dessert, and left feeling fully satiated and having been charged a fair price for the quality and cooking of the food.

Tah Tien is a hidden gem and one of my favourite places to eat in York. The food is phenomenal, it is served tapas style giving you the opportunity to try different dishes. The atmosphere is fun and the staff are friendly.
