Rosa's Thai York in York

Friendly staff, but mistakes with made with the order. We eat Thai food a lot and this was the worst we have had so far. We tried Rosa when it first opened and found it average at best. Years later due to high reviews we gave it another go, sadly. The curry was runny like soup with little flavour, and there was a sweet and sour flavour on the noodles like you get in a jar. Prices high in comparison to many places. You can do so much better elsewhere. Not recommended

sooo i ordered the green curry and asked for it to be mild. it was NOT mild. second, the waitress didn’t come around often so while my mouth was on fire and i was completely out of water, i had to sit there helpless and in pain lol waiting for water. finally, the beef was SO FATTY. i took a bite and it was entirely, completely fat. i wanted to puke. pls js get chicken, whoevers reading this.

Lovely relaxed restaurant, with great food. Some interesting cocktails. Fair warning they are strong! Excellent recommendations and wonderful service from Pookie. Thank you, we had a great time.

The food is absolutely fantastic.

3 of us for an early, pre-theatre, meal. You know anywhere that ais already busy and buzzing at 5.15 on a Friday has something going for it. The food and service was excellent. I am no Thai food expert but I know that I appreciate the fantastic combination of flavours and textures. We were offered a range of meat and vegetarian dishes; all beautifully presented and perfectly seasoned and spiced. Very reasonable price and great service and ambience.

amazing food! me and my flatmates went for york restaurant week and were very impressed. had multiple people serve and interact with us and everyone was so friendly and lovely. even when we were accidentally there a little past closing they stayed completely gracious and accommodating. especially thankful to Pucca who served us most of the night. will definitely be coming back + thankful for such a great experience!

Por el precio, nos dieron porciones muy generosas y el servicio era excelente - amable y eficiente. Nos sentimos muy bienvenidos. Para empezar, compartimos un plato vegetariano; luego para mi principal tuve el revuelto de pollo de jengibre - frito; luego para mi postre tuve el mango y el arroz pegajoso de coco. Todos estaban deliciosos y muy frescos - sabor. Me impresionó mucho la comida y la experiencia en general y me encantaría volver. Gracias a todos en Rosa’s Thai York.

Our first time at Rosa’s Thai did not disappoint. I am terrible with spice but my husband loves it, but Kaew very kindly offered to make it the least spicy curry possible, but also offered to give me something else if I couldn’t hack it! She was amazing, made our experience really great. Great cocktails too!

The food was soooo good, 11/10 on flavour and portion size. The crispy pork belly bites were incredible and the pad kee mao has solidified its place as my favourite Thai food dish. Our server, Pucca, was super lovely and friendly, more places need staff like Pucca. Thank you! 😊

The only thing better than the food was the service. The whole experience really topped off the perfect day in York. Couldn’t ask for better! The starters were perfect and the mains full of flavour sweet spicy fresh and great value. If you’re thinking about coming here do it you won’t be disappointed.

Honestamente el curry rojo era básicamente una sopa. Lleno de hierbas pero sin judías verdes y sin sabor. Galletas de gambas se supone que tienen una salsa de cacahuete, pero vino con chile dulce en su lugar. Los rollos de verano de langostinos eran cacahuetes. Lo único decente de este lugar son los pinchos de cerdo. Golpeando. El resto no es auténtico tailandés en absoluto Pad Thai no tenía sabor. Sólo un plato de fideos. No volveremos aquí de nuevo. Triste como nos encanta la comida tailandesa. Fui una vez... no muy bien... beneficio de la duda por segunda... nunca más.

Food doesn't cost its money. Repetitive music is annoying. Service didn't even bring us spoons and forks.

We booked last minute for a meal during a weekend in York, we have never been before and were very pleasantly surprised. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with smiles. Our server Luke was so lovely and provided excellent service throughout, checking that our meals were ok and that our drinks were always topped up, he was a star and really made the meal a great experience. The lemonade was super refreshing and as me and my partner were very hungover it was the perfect pick me up. The cocktails also looked amazing but due to our sorry state more alcohol was not on the cards for us. I had the Tom Yum noodle soup - one of my favourite meals - and it did not disappoint, I was so full I brought it home and cannot wait to finish it off on a later occasion, the spring rolls were also delish. The food was so tasty and refreshing. I had the Thai churros for desert which perfectly rounded off the meal. 10/10 place and can’t wait to go back to one of their locations closer to our home. Great food and great atmosphere at what I thought was a really reasonable price. Extra bonus point to the recipe card you get with the bill, im going out to buy the recipe book as soon as possible (hoping the lemonade recipe is in there!!).

Had a really warm welcome when entering, server was really kind and helpful.The restaurant itself had a lovely atmosphere. I ordered the Thai fried chicken as a side and for my main I had Chicken phad king with Egg fried rice, and to drink the Passion Fruit & Jasmine with Strawberry bubble tea which was refreshing and chilled with ice. Overall a great experience I definitely plan to come again.

Lovely place (didn't realise how big it was inside!) and the food was really tasty, had the mixed veg platter and mango sticky rice. We were served by Chompoo who was really lovely made sure everything was Ok. She also listened patiently to us talking about a trip we did to Thailand - thanks! She told us her name is the Thai word for rose apple, which we hadn't even heard of, so we also learnt something. All the staff we spoke to were nice and it was a lovely experience... we'll be back for sure :)

The food was pricey but good, I just didn't appreciate the extra £5 they added for "service". I bought some clothes earlier and received a lot of service, did the clothes shop charge me extra for service? No. What makes restaurants entitled to charge extra for service? The whole concept of "tips" and service charges is an American thing - it's not a part of British culture whatsoever. Just get rid, please.
