The most delicioso Moroccan food we've had in the UK. Excelent food, service and drinks. The atmosphere transport you far away. Muhammed was excellent. Thank you, well come back again!

Had a delicious meal tonight at Moroccan restaurant Zhor in Bath. Had the owner advise me about the menu choice and did not regret it. Both starters and main menus were shared with my wife and everything was excellent in taste and beautifully presented. It was more than sufficient for two people. Recommended starter dishes: BRIOUATES M'NAOUINE and TRADITIONAL MOROCCAN MEZZE; Recommended main courses: BEEF TAJINE BEL KHOKH WA LOUZ M'KALLI and ZHOR BREAKFAST. Highly recommended!

Came here again on 21st April and had another fantastic meal with excellent, attentive service. No doubt we'll come again. We have only eaten here once before but kept saying that we would like to visit again. So we visited with friends on a Sunday lunchtime and had the lunch menu. It was excellent value for money, the food is well flavoured, authentic and had lovely depth of flavour. The service was excellent too. We love the restaurant themed in a Moroccan, North African decor. We're already planning our next visit.

Best Moroccan food I’ve had outside of Morocco

I eat out a lot and this was the best restaurant meal I’ve had in a while. We had the early evening menu £29 for two courses and a glass of wine. Good selection of starters and mains. The mixed mezze starter was a lovely selection of Morrocam flavours; the baba ghanoush had such a smoky flavour - delicious. Both tagines were so flavoursome and authentic. Finished off with mint tea expertly poured by the charming owner. Zhor was his Grandmother after whom the restaurant is named. Mohammed our waiter was attentive and really welcoming. All in all a great experience. If you’re in Bath you must eat here. Lunchtime & a la carte menus too.

The best restaurant in Bath in terms of food, service, and location, worth a try

The food had a large amount of choice, with many vegetarian options. The portions were very generous sizes, and the wait staff were attentive throughout.

The food did not live up to the reviews sadly. The baba ganoush, houmus and falafel were pleasant and the meat dishes ok but nothing unusual. The rest of the vegetable based food lacked imagination and Moroccan flavour. Restaurant was almost empty at 7pm on Friday night.

I had an appetizer (mezze) and it was just ok. Not particularly fresh. Clearly had been in the fridge for a while; it was a bit of a pile of goo on a plate. Pita was not fresh and a bit hard. Couscous was very average. I have had much better morrocan in multiple countries.Touristy and pricey - non quality food.

Mostafa and his team are just superb, it's a very friendly homely place and you can tell Mostafa lives for incredible hospitality. 25 years with this gorgeous restaurant and serving genuine Moroccan cuisine. Came here for my birthday and was treated like a queen! Meal was so delicious and recommendations were spot on. They have a lovely boutique where you can buy bits and bobs too, and a roof terrace! Worth noting toilets are downstairs for those less able. Cannot more highly recommend!! I will be back very soon.

Had a fantastic meal at this authentic Moroccan restaurant. Host was extremely welcoming and the smells were amazing from the minute you walked through the door. We ordered from the 2 course menu for £30, both starters were delicious and the tagines were huge, full of perfectly cooked meat with a rich sauce. We finished off with baklava and mint tea, poured perfectly from a height by the excellent waiter. A fantastic restaurant.

Zostałam poproszona przez kelnera bym pisała po polsku nie po angielsku .wiec to robię Piękna kameralna restauracyjka , klimat Maroko, miła obsługa pani właścicielka restauracji jest bardzo przyjazną osobą , Mieliśmy jeden starter i dwa dania główne , porcje okazały się ogromne i ciężko nam było pokonać ale daliśmy radę . Ogromnie polecam jeśli chcecie znaleźć się przez chwilę w Marco udać się tam by posmakować niesamowitych przypraw i napić marokańskiego wina lub piwa

Great food, friendly helpful staff. The restaurant is small & quite loud when it’s busy & when we were there too warm! They were helpful with gluten free options but need to learn that if someone is gluten free you cannot place food containing gluten on the shared mezze platter.

Very beautiful restaurant, the walk to the toilet is so beautiful with all the decoration. We had a booking for 10 people, once arriving there we realized we took up like a third nearly a half of the restaurant. Sorry for that. They are a busy restaurant so I do recommend booking in advance. Service was a bit slow, there was two or three waiters however at one point people kept coming in and there was only one waitress, we couldn’t order and had to wait some time. Food was good really recommend going there, however I don’t recommend the meatball tajin (forgot the name) it was just tomato concentrate with meatballs, that’s it nothing else, didn’t taste like tomato sauce but just pure tomato concentrate. However the other tajin were really good !!

Amazing great Moroccan restaurants, love the vibes in the music super friendly staff. My phone almost died and they gave me a phone charger so thank you to them lol. The food was really delicious, highly recommended

Good food, ambience was authentic too. They kept a few Moroccan items for sale which are overpriced. Closes by 10 if I am not wrong. Chicken Tagine is recommended

Nice little resteraunt. Service was very friendly and good selection on the menu. Tagine was a little disappointing as a little dry but starters were very nice and atmosphere was great.

Truy excellent Moroccan food, shared mezzo starter is a must, love the lemon chicken targine. The food is served quickly and piping hot. Highly recommended if in Bath. Booking advised.

We always do the same two dishes here (preserved lemon chicken with cholla bread and 7-vegetable couscous with side of merguez sausage) when we come, once every couple of months. They never disappoint! The lady at the front of house is lovely and the food is authentic, freshly cooked and delicious.

I really enjoyed this spot. Saw some positive reviews online and gave it a shot. Lovely place with delicious food. I did the kofte tangine (basically meatballs with eggs in a tomato sauce) and it was perfect. Pretty big portion and I could not finish it all. All the tangines coming out looked amazing. I’d definitely send people here.

The tangines are one of the best meals i have had for a long time wholesome and filling. Ate here new years day evening was busy but gladly we had booked earlier so no problems. Space is tight but not intrusive. The owner appears a little grumpy but is actually friendly and helpful. If you like seafood try the tagine d’essaoulra amazing packed with seafood and fish./

Most of the food was delicious. The mixed meat sharing platter (can't remember the name) and tagine was delicious. The cold mezze sharer was not great, it was all slopped on to a plate all together, that was really disappointing. Given it was New Years eve, the atmosphere was just like any other evening. Service was quick, but the waiter and the waitress didn't seem to want to be there (fair enough really as NYE), but disappointing when you go out for a meal.

The atmosphere may seem a little dark to some, with the seating arrangement a bit tight and uncomfortable for those that require a bit more leg room but the food undeniably makes up for it. Really generous portions with incredibly scrumptious flavours. Took part in the lunch 2 course set menu, chosen items were the classic mezze menu, with fresh earthy flavours and with special notice to the humus, simply amazing!! The beef tagine was my main, which was cooked with apricots and sultanas and despite being hot as hell (in respect to the serving temperature) was incredibly flavourful. The meat was a little tough but having soaked up the delicious flavours, was well worth it.

The place is decorated very well and gives an authentic feel for Morocco. There is outside sitting for Sheesha smoking. Staff was friendly. We ordered 2 cocktails and the expresso martini was served warm. The starters were - hollumi, squid and babagonush. The hollumi was not grilled/cooked at all and they took it back and didn’t charge us for it. The squid was not fresh and very smelly and fishy. They redeemed themselves with the mains. Their tagine was to die for. We ordered the duck tagine and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was the perfect balance of flavours and the meat was falling off the bone. One tagine dish is enough for 2 persons. Recommended for the tagines, not the hot starters.

We visited this restaurant by chance 8 years ago whilst on our honeymoon... Having come again today due to how amazing it was the first time, it was absolutely fantastic yet again. The food is delicious and the staff are so welcoming and friendly. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that wants to try something different to the usual chain style food of the high streets.

This establishment has been giving us culinary joy on every visit to Bath for the past 20 years. We love Maghrebi food and always make a point of dining here on our visits to Bath. Consistent high quality of food, wine, service and ambience over many years, is a considerable achievement. The spirit of Madame Zhor the founder of the family business, seems to smile down approvingly.

Having had two holidays in Morocco and having fond memories of the cuisine we enjoyed on its major centres, I was delighted to discover a Moroccan restaurant in Bath. However, it wasn’t quite the culinary experience I’d hoped for because the food was overcooked and rather dry as a result. The portions are massive, far too large, and as result the quality suffers. In the past, the attention to decor and ambiance must have been immense, but the interior now looks rather tired and a little grubby. It’s b shame, because this could be a breath of fresh air amongst all the chain restaurants in town.

The beef tagine was a novel experience, the cooked raisins and dates added a sweet tang to the savory dish, topped off with a dash of almond nuttiness. The couscous was however, a little too dry. The tagine meatballs were not really memorable. Overall though, including the starters, it’s a yes from me!

Amazing ambiance and food , we have ordered meaty platter and lamb couscous which is the best I had so far , the chickpeas are cooked to the perfection and the lamb is tender just how I like it , I have seen few visitors review and worried a bit but non of those matter after you experience this place, a golden gem in bath . I recommend it 100 percent .

We ordered the vegan tagines. The quality was not consistent. My husbands dish was different from mine. His had chick peas, mine did not. I mentioned to the waiter, who was very pleasant and he brought me some chick peas, unfortunately they were hard and I couldn’t eat them. I mentioned to the manager, who said the chef must have forgotten. Menu said 7 original vegetables, i had half a small potato, a slice of aubergine and a couple of chunks of squash, a thin slice of cabbage and not much else in vegetables.The sauce was tasty but not adequate. A large bottle of still water total for this alone was £40.65 I complained that I was not happy and he said next time he would ensure I had chick peas…! We paid the full price and assured him there would be no next time. Quality and price did not match. I am astounded that good reviews were written. Rickety restaurant, squashed together tables, dark and dirty.

Delicious food and friendly staff who offered valuable recommendations.

We had a wonderful dinner at Tagine Zhor. We have not had a lot of experience with Moroccan found and decided to try it based on other people's reviews. We were glad we did. All of our dishes were delicious served in tagine pots. We especially loved the Kafta Tagine and lemon chicken.

Amazing tasting food with great service. We got to speak to the owner and he was really friendly and made our mealbeven more special as he even sang me happy birthday. Def worth going to if you visit Bath.

Been here a couple of times, the food is very good, great flavours, very generous on portions (perhaps even too much so!). Atmosphere is nice if it’s busy but music is very loud and not exactly background or traditional in style. Waiting staff friendly but something was a bit lacking, quite expensive too.

Food was beautiful and full of flavour. The venue is quirky and cosey. Over all it was a great experience. The young man waiting on the table was lovely, but the chef was quite aggressive and moody both times we encountered him and the rest of the staff didn’t exactly deliver a great service. Having said that, I wouldn’t expect to be forced to pay a service fee when the service wasn’t up to scratch.

Really flavourful food and reasonably sized portions, though perhaps not that authentically Moroccan. Also pretty expensive for what it is; expect to pay at least £20 a person. Some of the bread is just toasted pitta, the type you can buy in a supermarket, and the same with the cous cous being the sort you just pour some boiling water over. Not really the celebration of cous cous you might expect from Moroccan food. The waiter also wasn't particularly friendly or knowledgeable about the cuisine. The tagines are probably the standout menu items

The best Tagine I think Ive had, even better than when I was in Morocco. Their portions are decent, the food is cooked with tons of flavor, and the restaurant itself ins very charming and quaint. We also had the falafel & pumpkin pastry for appetizers, and the baklava and mint tea for dessert. All in all, a great night out!

This is the kind of place that makes me sad because it's so good. As I'm on a trip, itll be a while before I'm back, and that'll take entirely too long for my liking. Great food - I love tagine, I love duck, guess what I thought of the duck tagine - and lovely staff. Gosh, it makes me consider moving to Bath..

We had the vegetarian Mezze Plata. It was good! Great variety of flavours and textures, plus plenty of food for someone who doesn't like meagre portions. Desert was fab too. We both went for mint and traditional baklava . Well worth it. Flavours.so good. I want to come again

What a lucky find! We had a duck tagine and a sea bass one , both absolutely delicious and expertly cooked. The dishes were piping hot, but the meat and fish were perfect (not overcooked) with lots of interesting and subtle flavours . The staff were friendly and efficient. The restaurant itself was like an Aladdin's cave. We felt we had visited Morocco for the evening and would strongly recommend it.

The food is absolutely delicious, authentic Moroccan flavours, hearty portions, tried 3 types of tagine and each was flavourful, couldn't pick which one we liked most as they were all so good. A must visit especially if you are looking for a halal restaurant Service was okay, an elderly oriental lady who didn't speak much, didn't feel she fitted in with the moroccan restaurant

First time at a Moroccan for my family and the food was amazing. Very friendly staff and beautiful decor. The lamb meatballs were to die for and chicken shawarma very tasty. My children said it was the best food they'd had in a restaurant! Definitely finish off with Moroccan mint tea! Highly recommended.

This restaurant is great and cant say anything bad. Always hard to find traditional Moroccan place with authentic food but this place exceeded expectation. My wife is Moroccan an she said is was 10/10. Décor is great and both waiters know the menu inside out.

Very great experience not only for the food but mainly for the passion that the owner transmit you and the love va Maroc… Tagine are great and also cous cous. Leave a little space for the tea (mint tea) an you’ll be be translated in real Maroc.

My stars are only because of the food and particularly my main . When ordered Baba ganoush on the menu it is in 2 places ,but with different prices, Under nibbles sections is ( what is made of and pita bread..)and the price On side dishes it's only the name and price ...well I ordered that ,and when I got charged the higher price the explanation was because it came with pita bread which I didn't order I order as side dish, the problem here is that the person didn't ask which I am ordering he just assumed....2nd outside were no lights or heating lights it was freezing...tables and chairs were damaged, (definitely could do some investment on the outside exterior).

Food was amazing, I went there in march, been a long time but really wanted to appreciate. There was only 1 waiter and the place went busy it was too much work for the guy. Hopefully they should hire more waiters so less burden on current staff but the food is highly recommended.
