Amazing cozy Morrocon restaurant, it was first time to try Morrocon food, and I was happy and satisfied with the experience , th owner was helpful and generous. He kept suggesting dishes, and his recommendations were amazing, the staff wee also nice and friendly, the owner gave us free rice and tea, we tried 3 different tagins one with lemon chicken and one with kofta meat, and one with meat and Apricot tasty, also grilled chicken and meat I think called brichotte or something, and ended with Morrocon tea tasty, A little pricy for service , but deserved 👏

The food is too bad. The lamb is so hard that one cannot cut with the knife also forget eating with mouth. Now let’s come to chicken. One cannot eat its so chewable it just doesn’t finish. They have served all half cooked food. Very bad experience.

Nice, cosy little number for fans of Moroccan food. Definitely more on the unassuming side than glitz and glam, but the food is awesome. There are limited tables so book ahead. The menu has plenty of options, including several types of tagine - more than the usual lamb tagine. The service is friendly, attentive and yet measured. They don’t pester you every 5 mins asking you how the food is, when your mouth is full! Apparently they have shisha, although we didn’t try it. There’s also some sort of shop downstairs which takes you to another world.

First ever time trying Moroccan food. It was absolutely amazing, the flavours and quality of food were out of this world and the service was sooo attentive. Can't recommend this restaurant enough for quality, quantity and friendliness. Will definitely be back 👌🏻👌🏻

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. The portions were very small, and the kids’ meals were spicy, making them inedible for children. The food tasted bad and was heavy on the stomach. I dined there on Sunday last week, and I’ve been feeling stomach pain ever since. Additionally, the prices are high for the quality of food and service provided. I do not recommend this place.

Lovely Moroccan food great service and a Bazaar shop under the restaurant usually but loved it! Two course set dinner £32.50 per person which was delish. However of course you order off the main menu. Personally some background music would have added to the atmosphere. I will return for sure.

My overall score is 4 stars, not because the food or the service was poor because both were excellent. My 4/5 stars is due to the stairs down to the toilets that were very slippy and being quite steep,made it a little dodgy.

It feels like this place is quite under the radar. But it was really nice. The service was very friendly and attentive. Food was really lovely and priced well. If I was more local I would be back very often.

Our meal started with mint tea, which our waiter presented in spectacular fashion. He taught us that this traditional pouring technique actually macerates the mint! Next came an appetizer featuring olives and many tasty spreads. Seems simple, but we'd never tasted better. For mains, we each had a tagine - lamb for me, and chicken for my girlfriend. Both were unbelievably tender and well-spiced, with fruit and sauce complimenting the meat perfectly. We have both had Moroccan food before, but never this good. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

One of the most finest tagine I’ve tasted outside London. Absolutely delicious and succulent the meat was tender cooked perfectly in the right temperature. Served in the Moroccan cutlery dishes. For a second, I felt like I’m in Marrakesh. They do serve alcohol unfortunately but it’s 100% halal so don’t need to worry about the dietary requirements. You’ll enjoy the mint tea in the end. Please do make time to visit at Tagine Zhor.

Fantastic, well presented tasty food. Lovely, friendly staff. Portion size very good. A gem of a place. Would definitely recommend to those wanting to try something a little bit different.

Unusual little place with room for improvement. Our cold starters were fridge cold and rather a mess on a plate with lots of different things plonked on. We asked for extra flat bread which was quickly taken away despite us being charged and wanting to keep for our main courses. One of our main courses had a blue elastic band in it that we fortunately spotted. We alerted our server (quietly) and he removed it but failed to apologise! I would have expected a gesture like our mint tea to be complimentary - but no nothing! Mains were also rushed out before we had finished starters. There are plenty of better places to eat in Bath. We won't be back.

Absolutely delicious meal selected from their wide range of starters and mains from the two course evening menu. My wife and I both had different tagines for the main course and her lemon chicken and my lamb dishes were aromatic, moist and very tasty. Portions were very generous and the staff very polite and attentive. Service was swift and we loved the authentic decor. £30 each for two courses seemed quite reasonable and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening there.

The owner was born in Casablanca and has owned the restaurant for 25 years. The plates are plentiful, the vegetable tagine delicious.

We tried the meat maze starter for 2 with a taguine to shared with couscous and Moroccan deserts. Food was excellent drinks expensive. £103 for 2 with only 2 Alcoholic drinks was on the expensive range but it was an experience but I think the cost is 20% too high as they also charge a 12.5% service charge. I would go back but probably look for 2 course lunch deal

we went to this place in our recent trip to Bath. Restaurant was centrally located with traditional decor. But food was disappointing , we were expecting traditional moroccon food , full on flavours. But chicken tagine (TAGINE DJEJ B’ZETOUN) lacked the freshness of lemons, olives and herbs, rather strong chemical aftertaste from preserved lemons and bitter olives. chicken shawarma, nice and elaborate presentation with wraps and sauces but looked like stirfry chicken rather than what we were expecting as thinly sliced meat with BBq aroma. Hummus and Batata harra were really nice. meal was overpriced so overall disappointing experience.

We had a lovely experience at this Moroccan restaurant. Small place but rich blueprint. The atmosphere was friendly and cultural. We loved the food; delicious and clean. And the service was very good as well, the people working there were friendly and respectful.

After a week in the UK sampling traditional pub food, as well as Indian and Italian menus, we decided on something a bit off the grid. Fantastic choice! Best combination of food, service and value on our trip so far. Highly recommended.

Amazing place, the decoration and atmosphere is lovely. We sat outside on a warm evening and we were transported to Morocco. The food is delicious, great portions and so much flavour. I recommend the Moroccan wine. When tasted with the spices of the food it pairs so well. Service is great, very attentive. All over a fantastic experience. Thank you!

I visited here on 06/08/24. The Tangine Zhor uses traditional recipes that have been passed down from the owner's grandmother Zhor (who the restaurant is named after). I dropped by without a reservation and was greeted warmly by a young gentleman who happily showed me to my seat. I was dining alone but given no less attention for it. On explaining that I had Coeliac Disease and needed to eat gluten-free I was assured there were options for me. I knew that Moroccan food is naturally gluten-free usually but was pleased to be told by the manager that I could have any main course shown but with rice instead of cous cous/bread. You could get 2 courses for £29.99 and he recommended the kefta m'kaouara (meatball stew) as a starter and I ordered the zhor brochettes (chicken & lamb skewers) as my main. I got a Marrakesh cocktail (vodka, raspberries, peach puree and guava juice). Cocktails had deals on two if you wanted several but I stuck to one. I got a complimentary side salad and glass with lemon water to aid digestion which I thought were nice touches. The decor is authentic and sitting there listening to traditional music and enjoying the tastes/aromas of Morocco, I quite forgot I was in Bath! A really special dining experience and wish I lived locally to visit more. Thank you for your warm hospitality.

Everything was amazing. The food was exquisite but unfortunately my family came without an appetite but we still finished everything on the plate! Service was equally as good, and waiters Mohammed and Hana went out of their way to make sure we had a comfortable experience. 5/5!

We came at 3:30 PM, they told us to come back at 5:00 PM, the restaurant should have these at the door step and update the same on google maps, it was waste of time !

I had Batata harra, Marinated fresh olives, Maroccan fresh salad, Moroccan Kefta M’kaura and Vegetarian tagine. Everything was delicious! Cooked perfectly. And Mohammed who served our table was extremely nice and welcoming!

Really enjoyed the food and interior here. It's a bit small and we were quite squished by the window with a small table but the taste of the food and friendly staff outweighed all of that. The meatballs were my favourite, they tasted unreal and would love that in a bigger portion as a main meal.

The tagine here is amazing on flavour, though the meat is tougher than expected. In general would recommend, though a bit pricey.

Must say I was expecting better. Had the meat platter for two at @ £42.95 plus 12% service charge was poor low value items. 4 prawns in oil, 4 small chicken wings, few meat balls and two very hard chick peas balls with small pot of tomato dressing plus small pot of yogurt. Could have been so much more for the price. We had 4 pieces of flat breads the size of one pitta bread, hummus and baba ganush dips for two in very small pots for £8.50. Please give twice the bread and dips to make it worth while as it was insufficient for one. Had better in tourists spots at a lower price. Don’t mind paying more for quality and quantity and more people will book. I would miss this one in future.

Tasty food in a lovely venue with friendly staff. I had the Kofta Tagine for my main, but asked for no egg. A trip to the toilet reveals more sights, with various items available for sale.

This sparked our curiosity. A cozy restaurant Moroccan decor (note we've not been to Morroco yet). It was busy when we came. We had the 2 main course special and the hot veggie mezze platter. First time trying Morrocan food, surprisingly pretty good. Very well flavored food. The beef tangine came out very hot and was good. The "spices" in the food were new for us..it's not heat pepper spice but aromatic. Had a great brief conversation with the owner..learned a lot about the restaurant's history. Keep up the great work Mr. Benjelloun!

We came here for dinner with friends and had a great time. The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere, the decoration made us feel like we were in a whole different culture and place, it really made the ambience special. The place was pretty much full and although it’s not a huge restaurant, we still felt comfortable. Staff were friendly, the owner gave us good recommendations. He was clearly passionate about the food they made there and so it felt like an absolute treat to try different mains and sides together. We had two starters and a main each to share (for the 3 of us) and we felt completely full by the end. Food was delicious and well-prepared, maybe more on the expensive side. Good vegetarian options. The cocktail (Marrakesh) we tried was lovely too. We wish we had space for dessert but we simply couldn’t manage anymore - the menu was impressive regardless. Overall very happy with everything, would recommend the place!

Delicious dinner tonight at Moroccan restaurant Zhor in Bath. Had the owner advise me about the menu choice and did not regret it. Both starters and main menus were shared with my wife and everything was excellent in taste and beautifully presented. It was more than sufficient for two people. Recommended starter dishes: BRIOUATES M'NAOUINE and TRADITIONAL MOROCCAN MEZZE; Recommended main courses: BEEF TAJINE BEL KHOKH WA LOUZ M'KALLI and ZHOR BREAKFAST. Highly recommended!

Came on a Saturday night and was able to be seated straight away, lovely atmosphere, so cosy and vibrant and unique. Vast menu with a lot of options but amazing traditional food, we opted for the 2 courses for £29.95 option and we thought was a great for how much food you got, so delicious! The house red wine was amazing and a lovely big glass. We absolutely loved it here thought it was a gorgeous ambience, amazing food and lovely service, such a unique and gorgeous spot that we would definitely return to!

Came here again on 21st April and had another fantastic meal with excellent, attentive service. No doubt we'll come again. We have only eaten here once before but kept saying that we would like to visit again. So we visited with friends on a Sunday lunchtime and had the lunch menu. It was excellent value for money, the food is well flavoured, authentic and had lovely depth of flavour. The service was excellent too. We love the restaurant themed in a Moroccan, North African decor. We're already planning our next visit.

Best Moroccan food I’ve had outside of Morocco

Best place to enjoy real traditional Morocco's delicious food 😋

I eat out a lot and this was the best restaurant meal I’ve had in a while. We had the early evening menu £29 for two courses and a glass of wine. Good selection of starters and mains. The mixed mezze starter was a lovely selection of Morrocam flavours; the baba ghanoush had such a smoky flavour - delicious. Both tagines were so flavoursome and authentic. Finished off with mint tea expertly poured by the charming owner. Zhor was his Grandmother after whom the restaurant is named. Mohammed our waiter was attentive and really welcoming. All in all a great experience. If you’re in Bath you must eat here. Lunchtime & a la carte menus too.

The best restaurant in Bath in terms of food, service, and location, worth a try

The food had a large amount of choice, with many vegetarian options. The portions were very generous sizes, and the wait staff were attentive throughout.

The food did not live up to the reviews sadly. The baba ganoush, houmus and falafel were pleasant and the meat dishes ok but nothing unusual. The rest of the vegetable based food lacked imagination and Moroccan flavour. Restaurant was almost empty at 7pm on Friday night.

I had an appetizer (mezze) and it was just ok. Not particularly fresh. Clearly had been in the fridge for a while; it was a bit of a pile of goo on a plate. Pita was not fresh and a bit hard. Couscous was very average. I have had much better morrocan in multiple countries.Touristy and pricey - non quality food.

Came here for my birthday and was treated like a queen! Meal was so delicious and recommendations were spot on. They have a lovely boutique where you can buy bits and bobs too, and a roof terrace! Worth noting toilets are downstairs for those less able. Cannot more highly recommend!! I will be back very soon.

Had a fantastic meal at this authentic Moroccan restaurant. Host was extremely welcoming and the smells were amazing from the minute you walked through the door. We ordered from the 2 course menu for £30, both starters were delicious and the tagines were huge, full of perfectly cooked meat with a rich sauce. We finished off with baklava and mint tea, poured perfectly from a height by the excellent waiter. A fantastic restaurant.

Zostałam poproszona przez kelnera bym pisała po polsku nie po angielsku .wiec to robię Piękna kameralna restauracyjka , klimat Maroko, miła obsługa pani właścicielka restauracji jest bardzo przyjazną osobą , Mieliśmy jeden starter i dwa dania główne , porcje okazały się ogromne i ciężko nam było pokonać ale daliśmy radę . Ogromnie polecam jeśli chcecie znaleźć się przez chwilę w Marco udać się tam by posmakować niesamowitych przypraw i napić marokańskiego wina lub piwa

Great food, friendly helpful staff. The restaurant is small & quite loud when it’s busy & when we were there too warm! They were helpful with gluten free options but need to learn that if someone is gluten free you cannot place food containing gluten on the shared mezze platter.

Very beautiful restaurant, the walk to the toilet is so beautiful with all the decoration. We had a booking for 10 people, once arriving there we realized we took up like a third nearly a half of the restaurant. Sorry for that. They are a busy restaurant so I do recommend booking in advance. Service was a bit slow, there was two or three waiters however at one point people kept coming in and there was only one waitress, we couldn’t order and had to wait some time. Food was good really recommend going there, however I don’t recommend the meatball tajin (forgot the name) it was just tomato concentrate with meatballs, that’s it nothing else, didn’t taste like tomato sauce but just pure tomato concentrate. However the other tajin were really good !!
