Pintxo in Bath and North East Somerset

Don’t be fooled by the people on Xiaohongshu. This restaurant is very ordinary and very expensive. A small tapas dish costs NT$500. I traveled to Spain for 18 days. This is Spanish food that has changed. Don’t come here.

Wow, this place was disappointing. I can't speak for the entirety of the menu as we only ordered a handful of dishes but based on what we had, I'm glad we didn't splash out more. This place feels like it should be great, cosy intimate settings, bustly interior and a queue out of the door. It's sadly more style than substance though - most dishes lack spark and are inoffensive but unmemorable and at these prices that shouldn't be the case. Pick of the lot were the sausages which were generous in portion size and spicef pleasantly. £11 for 6 smallish prawns was the low point of the meal. The garlic butter sauce was great though but then, it's garlic butter sauce - it always is. Much better value for money elsewhere

Fantastic restaurant, really well run and fantastic food. Wine recommendation was spot on and couldn't do enough for us. First time here on a visit to Bath for the weekend and so glad we found this place. We had the goats cheese and beetroot salad, pardon peppers, mushroom croquettes and spider crab croquettes, selection of cured meats, tomato con pan. Every dish was fantastic in taste, portion and price.

Good food but some things could have been better. The gambas was excellent, Pork shoulder was great, as was the chorizo croquettes. Patatas braves was big, but the tortilla was a bit bland and disappointing. A little too reliant on the same tomato sauce for too many dishes. And there is a ‘voluntary’ 12.5% tip automatically added, which is a bit much. No real opportunity to remove it.

This is one of my favourite restaurant in Bath to date! I took my pal for tapas a few of weeks ago and was blown away by Pintxo’s mouthwatering Basque-style menu. We enjoyed a jug of Rosé Sangria whilst facing the difficult task of choosing what to eat. After much deliberation, we decided on the following: Garlic & Chilli Prawns Meatballs in Spicy Tomato Sauce Crab & Saffron Croquetas Dates with Goat’s Cheese & Crispy Jamon Beetroot & Blue Cheese Salad Baked Garlic Mushrooms with Manchego Top notch tapas, great service and a lovely relaxed atmosphere, as always. I left with a full belly and a desire to return when my wallet looks a little healthier.

Very good tapas. The meat tapas were only so so but everything else is great.

The male waiter was really grumpy and was behaving like we were asking for too much. He tried to clear away my dishes more than once after I told him I wanted to keep them for the sauce, he didn't like that. Such a shame because the food was delicious.

All the dishes I ordered were very delicious! Pets are friendly and can be brought into the restaurant. The average dish is about 10 pounds.

Delicious food, cozy ambient and lovely staff. A flavourful taste of authentic Spanish tapas to escape from the UK for a moment. Highly recommended!

The food was good a bit over priced though. We felt rushed by service to finish our food as they were looking over our shoulders every 2 minutes and just waiting for customers to leave and replace with new ones. The place was very over crowded with tables making us and other customers feel uncomfortable when moving around. Also, it makes it difficult to hold a private conversation without getting overheard or overhearing others. We didn’t want to tip but I guess you don’t stand a chance when they charge you 12.5% for service fee…Very disappointed with this experience to be honest.

Delicious freshly prepared food, excellent service - recommended!

It was our first visit, and we were not disappointed. We chose a large selection of small plates and devoured the lot. My favourite was the pork belly, so tender and juicy that it just fell apart, combined with stick molasses that complimented it perfectly. I had a glass of their rose sangria, which was delicious and sweet, and I could easily have enjoyed more. No reservations were taken for small groups, as they say on their website, just turn up. The staff were knowledgeable, really friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was relaxing with music from the 70s being played, which we enjoyed and related to. We arrived at around 12.30 pm, and by the time we departed, it was full.... always a good sign. It was a great find, and we will definitely be returning..... sooner rather than later! Had a fabulous meal with a friend, we were the last people left in the restaurant but weren't hassled to leave! Food is different and delicious.

So expensive, beware! Left there hungry and went for a burger at £4,50! Six of us ate, they tried to charge £28 service, which we removed mainly because the bill was esy too much anyway! Won't return here, sorry.

Delicious and very sharable snacks, my favourites were the croquettes and calamari rings. The sangria was also super refreshing. Unfortunately the fried potatoes had too much sauce but not enough salt.

There are 7 dishes, the portions are average, and they are all snacks. The two boys, who had big appetites, were quite full after eating. £35 per person.

Absolutely brilliant restaurant, serving authentic food and wine at a very fair price, if you like food you'll love this, it was just like being back in San Sebastian

Amazing tapas, great choice of dishes. The pork belly was absolutely delicious. Staff were really friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed and cosy. Great choice of wine and cocktails to complement the food.

Can’t comment on the food We tried to eat here and they were rather unfriendly and we waited in the doorway a while and eventually decided to give up. Probably need to learn a bit about friendly welcomes

Stumbled across this place in search of a light lunch. What a find! The food was delicate and so full of flavour, and the accompanying wine ( apparently from the home town of the owner) was the best wine I have tasted in a very, very, long time. I should mention here that I do drink a lot of wine! The staff were very attentive without being intrusive and made the visit an unforgettable, albeit short, experience. Just wish I lived closer, but It's a definite visit whenever I'm next in Bath

Best Spanish food I've had outside of the country, a real authentic experience

Bu Hao is crazy, I am very excited, eggplant is the most delicious! Don't have to take a hard trip! The service attitude is terrible! The service fee is optional and you can feel it yourself.

This place is a real gem. We were in Bath for a few days from London and walked in on a rainy Thursday night to a very busy restaurant, without unfortunately, a booking. After a short wait, we were led to a table downstairs, which was admittedly a bit underwhelming, being close to the kitchen, a bit claustrophobic and quite loud music. However, the food and service that followed was wonderful.

One of the best meals in a long time. Food was awesome, service swift and attentive, staff cool and the garden made us feel like we were on holiday. So cool. Pretty much faultless... oh except the kitchen fan really puts a downer on it. Blows right into the outside steps. Pinxo, just put a flue system in the vent higher?

The tapas is surprisingly tasty 😋! Love it a lot. Especially the pork belly having both the fatty part and tender part, the sweet sour pickled apple slaw is definitely a genius complement 🥰 I also like the asparagus having its skin removed, which is really special! And the blue cheese sauce. However, it feels a bit too salty for me having the sauce with the jamon. Luckily, they do have the pan on the house🤓 The service was super nice while I ordered with one waitress but not so welcoming when I paid my check with another waitress. The atmosphere is really nice, definitely will come back again!❤️

Great place with a relaxing atmosphere and fantastic food.

This tapas bar left much to be desired. The portions were ridiculously small for the steep prices, with the octopus and roast potatoes dish being particularly disappointing—tiny, bland, and lacking in flavour that you would expect from the Iberian cuisine. At £14.50, it's nowhere near good value. The wine servings were also meager, and the venue was so crammed with tables that moving around was a struggle. I won’t be returning.

Tortilla de patatas, lentils stew, croquettes were all excellent. The salted caramel brownie to finish it off was lovely. Cosy atmosphere and friendly service. Can’t go wrong really and no wonder it’s such a popular place!

The staff were lovely. The tapas portion size was, in my opinion, too big. I didn't like one plate. My taste, not their food, but they took it off the bill anyway. I would definitely go back.

Pintxo is located a stone’s throw from the more touristy offerings of Bath’s old town, but offers a considerably more laidback vibe from the usual. Delicious small plates come thick and fast - lots of tapas favourites (like patatas bravas), both hot and cold. The spider crab croquettes were a highlight, full of unctuous seafood loveliness. A glass of sherry is also a must. Well worth seeking out.

I was recommended Pintxo by locals and after checking the reviews was disappointed by the food there. By no means the best tapas in bath and judging just by the food, was overrated and pricey. The ingredients were of good quality but the preparation of the food was not very well executed. Patatas bravas although covered in sauce looked sad and fried aubergine absorbed all the oil without being crispy. The crab croquetas didn’t really have much crab in or much taste. The pork belly was not my taste (I love pork belly but this was just fatty with no crisp and nothing to it apart from fat). The service is great and the garden amazing but I wouldn’t go back for the food.

A great little reminder of the atmosphere and warmth of Basque country. Food was fabulous and the staff were wonderful. If you fancy good tapas & pintxos, this is the place! Our favourite restaurant in Bath, for good reason.

The food is exceptional, the best tapas in town. Specifically we had: calamari, crab croquettes, patatas bravas, octopus skewers. Puddings excellent as well: pistachio lemon cake and crema catalana. Service was excellent and we didn’t wait for a table more than 3 minutes. Very well priced. We are going back!

Have tried to come to this restaurant three times during opening hours and have been told they aren’t open.

Delicious tapas the Spider crab croquetas were to die for, it was fairly expensive but worth it and we were celebrating so what the heck, it was a special treat and would definitely go again. Although my Staffie was at home with my husband I noticed it is also dog friendly so extra stars for that 😊

One of the two reasons I would always revisit Bath. The shrimp is simply superior and the specials they have could just never go wrong. Would recommend to visit during the afternoon when there are less people.

Came here on 29/06/24 to finally show this place to my boyfriend as i’ve come here a few times before and again was not disappointed. We got 6 plates between us (more than enough, we couldn’t finish it all) and a jug of Tinto de Verano (a staple with tapas). Even though it was super super busy staff were so attentive and accommodating which with a terrace that full is hard to achieve so really well done to the staff that day! We had an issue with the bill with was quickly rectified, I work in hospitality so I completely understand that this happens! If you’re visiting Bath I highly recommend. If you’re local, how have you not been here yet?!

Very nice people, great food, great choice. Delicious desserts and Pedro Ximenez to finish the job. Waited 1 min at the bar. Just across the street from our hotel, nice since it was raining. But that's not the reason for my positive review.

The food was so nice ! The one waiter, on the other hand, was so miserable and had the nerve to add a service charge : / which is really rude to add without permission, the place is tiny as well so seemed crazy to charge that But food wise it was great.

This is my partner and mines favourite place, the food, service and atmosphere is always amazing!

The service is excellent, it’s a busy trendy place to pop in to eat some tapas and have something to drink. The wine list is a bit limited. I was expecting a big variety of what I know as a pincho but not even one 🥲.Pintxo/Pinchos are usually 'spiked' with a skewer or toothpick, often to a piece of bread. The patatas bravas sauce were ok, the best tapas was the shrimp fritter with salmon , avocado and siracha mayonnaise.

Absolutely delicious tapas they served here with cozy atmosphere and friendly staffs. The highlight from us tonight was definitely the Gambas Al Ajillo (prawn cooked in olive oil and garlic), Croquetas De Cangrejo Y Azafrán (spider crab and saffron croquettes) and Cerdo A Fuego Lento (slow cooked pork belly). The prawns were succulent and the pork belly was nice and crispy and soaked with great flavour. The croquettes were full of umami aroma as well. Overall, we had a great dining experience with excellent foods.

Lovely stuff, wish I could try it all

We did not expect to get top shelf Basque tapas in Bath, UK but we were pleasantly surprised. Each plate we ordered was excellent and while Pintxo was really busy the service was friendly and efficient. We were there on a Tuesday evening and every table was full; after a short wait we got seated but the locals said the weekends there are crazy busy so plan accordingly. We only had a few days in Bath but had we stayed longer we definitely would have returned to Pintxo.

Great food, friendly staff and reasonably priced

An amazing tapas with great wine and friendly staff.

Food: ordered a bunch of plates(see image) all were prepared well, not over seasoned or dressed. All dishes were more than enough for 2 people to share. Sangria was ordered ( red and rose’) Service was good, all staff members were attentive, but allowed space for my friend and I to visit. The staff kept things clean and tidy and were appropriately warm. Atmosphere cozy and comfy inside. There is a garden out back but it was closed. Also they have a bar but it looked tight. I sat at a 2 person table.

Delicious food, great place for tapas

This is easily one of the best tapas bars we have ever been to. The menu is exactly what is needed, and the taste of the 6 dishes we had was fantastic. It was very busy and a little cramped, but that should not stop you from visiting this excellent restaurant. Staff were very friendly and attentive when needed.

Dropped in without a reservation on a Tuesday evening. Place was hopping and after a drink at the bar we got a table. Variety of dishes was wonderful. Started with olives and bread. The skewer special with goat cheese beef and tomato was lovely. The star of the show was the pork belly dish. Succulent inside and crispy outside. Worth a visit if you are visiting Bath.

What was once a great place, has shocked us. The tapas we ordered was oily, barely warm and not freshly prepared. As if it was re-heated in a microwave. There was little to no flavour. All together we were very disappointed as it was also very over priced. We weren't even full from the dishes.

Brilliant! Walk-ins only & sometimes a queue outside, but don't let that worry you. They do a really good job of fitting everyone in. Excellent friendly staff, great food. Sherry garden out the back, a great sun trap. Ate dinner here twice in our 4 night stay in Bath. Highly recommended.

Great pintxo (tapas). The Pintxo de Datil (dates and goat's cheese, wrapped in crispy jamon) is brilliant. And the Calamares Fritos con Alioli were juicy, tender and crispy. Good portions. Great selection of sherry. Small but perfectly formed wine list. Lovely team of servers. Great veggie options. Recommend.

Really delicious food and sangria. Very busy little spot but we were lucky with the timing and got a table very quickly. The service was super fast and really friendly. Absolutely loved the specials that the waitress recommended. Would definitely recommend!

A restaurant serving tapas with wine. The grilled mushrooms with cheese are super delicious; the fried potatoes with hot sauce are average. The waiters are handsome and friendly.

Visited on a Saturday evening, the first thing to note is that they don't take bookings, so expect to queue, plus, it's not the biggest restaurant, so expect to be crammed tightly, there's not much space for diners. Stranglely, they also turned the lights down mid-evening and I mean right down, resulting in us needing to use our phones to see anything, let alone the menu. Atmosphere was good, but loud, very loud and although the menu is somewhat 'limited', food appeared fresh and was tasty, but hot items could have been hotter. I suggest that you avoid the tinned options, i.e., anchovies, olives, etc., as they're expensive and one can buy them anywhere. The txistorra/octopus 'special' was good, but far too expensive at £7.50 per skewer, but then Bath is a tourist hotspot, so you know what you're in for. Service was manic and fragmented, with dishes coming out intermittently, (as they're cooked, which is understandable), but pricing was astronomical, resulting in the four of us being presented with a bill for £160.00, which, for what we had, (soft drinks only, no alcohol), seemed ridiculous. My benchmark for any restaurant is whether I'd return and sadly, on this occasion the answer is 'no', but that doesn't make it bad, it just wasn't our thing, plus, our wallets are still heavily bruised from the experience, I do question whether we were taken advantage of on the night, but I'll put it down to experience and move on.

We had a delicious dinner here with excellent service!

Arrived at weekday around 7:30 pm. Wait for a table for a bit. And another 15-20 minutes to get the food. The service was a bit slow, and the plates were small. Need to order 2-3 plates/person. And the place is really small, just enough to move around. Recommend: prawn & fried calamari. If you live nearby, you can walk here for afternoon snack. I won’t come here just for the food.

Absolutely love this restaurant, can’t tell you how many times I’ve visited with my husband, friends, and family. Even when strangers travelling to Bath have randomly asked for a good restaurant I always highly recommend Pintxo! Live it here…

This was our fifth visit but our evening was spoiled by their awful loud club music.

Delicious food and fantastic service the gentleman behind the bar/counter. The portions are generous and the restaurant and food have a very authentic feel.
