Pintxo in Bath and North East Somerset

Really enjoyed our tapas meal here. We ordered four tapas dishes to share between two of us (baked mushrooms, calamari, pork & chorizo meatballs and patas bravas) and it was all extremely fresh and very tasty. The restaurant is small but they use the space very well with their tables. There was queue of people waiting to get a table when we left, so it's obviously a very popular place and I can see why! The staff were extremely friendly and attentive too. The vibe of the restaurant is also very traditional and fitting. Would definitely return.

Pintxo is the pinnacle of casual eating. Fabulous, Fabulous food, atmospheric setting and exceptional service. I wish I had pictures of the food we had but we just got stuck in, amazing quality.

Best tapas we've had in Bath, maybe anywhere. The Pintxo de Datil (dates and goat's cheese, wrapped in crispy jamon pintxo) is brilliant. And the Calamares Fritos con Alioli were juicy, tender and crispy. Good portions. Great selection of sherry. Small but perfectly formed wine list. Lovely team of servers. Great veggie options. We absolutely loved this restaurant and visited in mid February to celebrate my birthday. We arrived early, just after 5, when they reopened and were two of six visitors at this point but by the time we left about 1.5 hrs later all the tables were full and people were queuing at the bar. Our waitress explained that they are often busy with the pre theatre crowd and then it dies down a bit before the main evening clientele come in. I'm not at all surprised that it is so busy. The two members of staff who attended our table were friendly, chatty and helpful. The food was sublime. A great variety of different tapas/pintxo to choose from including a specials board and nothing disappointed. We even stayed for dessert. Having toured Spain last year we appreciate that tapas and pintxo, which are prevalent in the Basque region of Spain, are often free or minimal cost but this is an English version and each plate is sufficient for two people to share. We hadn't eaten all day and ordered six different plates plus dessert and left feeling slightly over full! Would definitely visit again if in the area

Great food, lovely atmosphere, very friendly, inviting staff. It was really busy but we were found a seat at the bar and had a drink while waiting for a table which we only had to wait about 15mins. All our dishes were really tasty and well thought out. Our waitress was super friendly and attentive, we would definitely recommend and look forward to returning in the future 💃🏼

This is, I think, my third visit to this Bath gem and it hasn't let us down yet. The whole experience is consistently excellent, the food, the atmosphere and the staff are all wonderful. On our last visit I had Patatas Bravas (I've had no better in Spain), Calamares Fritos con alioli and a mushroom dish that was delicious! The wine and sherry selections are great and a special shout out to Finn, who advised us on our selection of both and who is knowledgeable and genuinely friendly. The whole team in this restaurant are excellent and create a warm and friendly atmosphere, we can't wait to return; thanks guys!

We arrived at just after 6, it was really busy but we figured that was a positive thing - it must be really good! - so we waited at the bar, and only had to wait 5 minutes. A warm welcome from friendly and helpful staff and efficient service. The tapas were delicious and the portion sizes were generous; we had six tapas between two and we were very well fed! The deep fried aubergines were particularly delicious but everything was great. I wish we lived closer so we could come back to try more! We accompanied the tapas with sherry, great choice and very nice.

Popped in here after checking out House of Frankenstein for a bite to eat, turned out we were in for a real treat. Fabulous service, and delicious food. Would absolutely recommend.

Out and about in Bath for the weekend and had a table elsewhere booked for the evening so didn’t want to eat loads - Stumbled across these guys and it absolutely hit the spot. So much flavour in every dish and awesome team who clearly get on great, working at speed to keep everyone happy. What a thoroughly awesome experience, Basque cider, Smokey tomato bread and very delicious prawns and croquettes. Would 100% recommend, awesome to see independents run with so much pride and quality!

Spanish food has never been a favourite of mine. I appreciate the lines of tapas on the bar of an authentic Spanish bar, but the flavour combinations tend not to appeal to me. The reviews brought me in here, and they did not disappoint. It's a struggle to get in a lot of the time - go early, or by 8:45 to get the best chance - or wait, though there's not a lot of space. You are crammed in a bit, as they've squeezed as many covers in as they can, which is understandable. And yes, if you're a couple and there's a table for 4 coming free, you won't get it. It's worth it though, as the food is good and winning me over. Been twice now, had very different things and everything was good. The beef and bean stew (specials) was rapturously tasty, but tepid in temperature. Usually I'd have asked for a warming up, but I didn't want to let it go! I love a croquette (they remind my of my drunken youth in Amsterdam, munching on a "Febo") and theirs are lovely. It's a young staff and all of them are utterly delightful. Friendly and professional. We were about the last to leave and I so liked to see the staff sitting down in turn to eat their dinner. I bet it's a fun place to work.

I have tasted the best Spanish food, which is even more delicious than the food I ate in Spain. Shrimp and squid are both very tender, and the specialty dish cod is also very good. The seasoning of all dishes is great. White Sangria used white wine as the base wine, and the fruit diluted the alcohol flavor, making it delicious.

Superb food, excellent service and great ambience.

Dropped in for a quick lunch whilst out in Bath. Went for the four tapas of the day with some patatas bravas. The food was exceptional with the highlight being a red mullet tapas which was exceptional. All washed down with a bottle of sherry which was a great compliment to the food. Service was first rate and glad we made the choice for lunch.

Visited early evening on a very cold Tuesday, so wasn't too busy. Very friendly staff who advised us on how many plates to have. Delicious food, 5 dishes were great for two of us. Spider crab croquettes and the calamari both highly recommended. Would definitely go again!

I highly recommend this tapas bar. Although you can't book tables, which in my opinion makes a trip a little more exciting, the staff will always try to get you in. The food is very good and presented well. The atmosphere is, I feel, one of the best bits. Whether you're inside or out, everything feels very personal and comfortable. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. It is a go-to for us. Try it out. You can't go wrong.

Lovely tapas restaurant with hearty Spanish dishes!!

We were wondering the streets and looking for a place to have a seat and lunch inside and we picked this place randomly. It was full with people, but we managed to get a table for 2. I love everything about Spain, especially the food and this restaurant suits us. The atmosphere was very nice, warm and Spanish. The lady who served our table was very friendly. The food was very delicious. I simply love tapas! Yum! The toilet facilities were clean. It looks like most of the people there were students and not many tourists, or I might be wrong!?. One thing I would improve is the space, more space would be nice, I felt a bit squeezed. Average cost for the dishes and drinks. Would love to come back.

A very nice selection of tapas including some Basque dishes which was a refreshing change of pace. The prawns, txitorras and tortilla were standouts for me. The wine was very good and the staff were friendly.

This is a great little restaurant. My wife and I were there mid afternoon on Sunday the 10th December. The service was efficient, friendly and quick. It was a busy time of year, with the Christmas market etc, and the restaurant was very busy but the staff all smiled and the service was of a high standard and they made us feel welcome This certainly does not happen everywhere these days!! The food was of a high standard. We tend to look for small Spanish restaurants when we are out and about and we’re very impressed. Great tasty food, great wine and fabulous sherry. We were happy with the price too. I can not praise this place enough. A must if you visit Bath and we will most certainly go there again.

What a brilliant find - we stumbled across this gorgeous restaurant today on a trip to Bath. We enjoyed a couple of glasses of sherry and delicious dishes of tapas and pinchos. It’s a little gem and a must visit if you enjoy Spanish tapas. Real little gem in bath. The atmosphere is fab and for a Tapas bar the portions are so generous. Sangria really tasty and well priced given quality and portions. They did forget about our sangria and we had to chase it up so that was the 1 star mark down but i would return as i really enjoyed everything about it. Was also very clean.

I visited on Friday 1st December and had a truly disappointing experience. I understood the restaurant was busy and waiting outside with a drink was perfectly reasonable due to the heaters and the fact that this was explained to our table of two however the evening really went down from there. We were seated quickly however were sat in the centre of the restaurant on the smallest table so close to another couple we were unable to full move our arms and could hear every single word of their conversation. We were served by numerous people - all of whom we not particularly helpful and welcoming. We tried 3 different white wines- they were all average but the one we did get was warm when bought to our table so had to ask for ice with it. We ordered 6 or 7 small plates. The bread and dips had such awful stale bread it was hard and unpleasant. The prawn croquettes were mushie but burnt around the outside (although you could hardly see that as it was so dark in the restaurant), the squid was so chewy and the potatoes were hard and undercooked. I understand the staff were busy but we didn’t finish at of our food and when asked if everything was okay told them it wasn’t great and the waiter just said sorry and offered no other solution. Just shy of £100 completely wasted included a tip added to the bill that the staff certainly didn’t warrant.

Busy tapas bar, Great drinks and food.

Welcomed quickly with a friendly smile. Honest waiting time given (I understand queuing is common due to no booking) but given a sherry outside. Inside service was quick, food selection delicious and filling. Well staffed for a Friday night. It's a cosy place with a good atmosphere, slightly cramped but still able to enjoy a relaxing couples date and converse with ease.

Before you read this review, you should know I am from Spain and I know my food I was reading the reviews of other customers before coming to this place, it seemed to have good quality and genuine food. I have been bitten in all the Spanish restaurants I have been to in England and this one unfortunately falls into the same place, pricey, wrong ingredients and mean portions. You can't say you are not able to get the right Spanish products in the UK. You can walk in any Waitrose and find the real Spanish produce. Well, these people can't even be bothered to go to the local Waitrose to put together some basic Spanish tapas. I must admit I only ordered two tapas for my Estrella Galicia and my partner's Alvariño white wine. The beer comes bottled so they can't get that wrong. The wine was served in a water glass, not even a wine cup. The size of the wine was ridiculous for £6.75. I know... The croquetas de jamón were tasty. Good bechamel and well fried but again, 6 tiny balls of bechamel costing £8.50 is a bit of a joke. Another thing to mention is how uncomfortable the place feels, all the tables are crowded next to each other. It was busy, well done guys I celebrate your success, but please, learn your tapas and try to use proper cantabric anchovies and real Spanish guindillas with Manzanilla olives when you put a Hilda together. Finish it with a bit of extra virgin olive oil on top. It doesn't cost that much to make it look original. Your bar is empty, where are the pintxos? Where are the proper tortillas on top of the bar to make it look like if you were in San Sebastian? How can you call your place Pintxo if you have nothing on the bar to show? Anyway, another Spanish restaurant attempt in the UK

This was a real highlight of our trip food wise, tapas was top drawer! Great portion sizes and enough originality in the menu to I make it interesting. Pretty well priced too. One of the highlights of my trip - 10/10. What a fantastic restaurant. We walked in and were offered seating inside or outside in the sherry garden. Being a sunny day we had to go for the garden option and it was sooo nice outside. They were playing really chilled spanish music which really set the tone for the meal. The food was amazing, and after a few dishes, we were so confident that anything we ordered would be great. We ordered: A jug of white wine sangria which was sooo tasty and refreshing. Prawns - this is usual order for me at Spanish tapas but these were the best I’ve had. It was served butterflied still on the shell, super tender, and flavourful. 10/10 Peppers stuffed with goats cheese and aubergine - I initially wasn’t expecting too much but again super soft and flavourful. Really enjoyed having this 8/10 Patata bravas - another nice dish, potatoes good size and fried nicely. Generous portion. I personally thought the tomato sauce was a bit strong on the tomato side but still enjoyable. 8/10 Wild mushroom croquettes - really nice. Would benefit from a touch of truffle! 7/10 The choice of food, the weather, the restaurant vibe just came together perfectly to give the perfect setting. The staff were super friendly and always around if you wanted to order more. Theres not much more to say other than I would 100% recommend. The patatas bravas were perfectly crispy and came with a deliciously spicy bravas sauce. The slow-cooked cerdo was melt-in-your-mouth tender, complemented by flavorful spices. And the tortilla de patatas was a classic done to perfection, creamy and satisfying. The restaurant's garden sitting area had a lovely ambience. Despite the bustling atmosphere, it felt relaxed and inviting. We enjoyed the evening surrounded by lush greenery, adding to the overall experience. To accompany our meal, we indulged in the refreshing tinto de verano, a delightful blend of red wine and carbonated lemonade. It was the ideal choice for a summer evening, balancing sweetness and tanginess.
