Three of us called in last night we were on table 58 ,ordered a large mixed grill a gourmet steak and a chicken burger and drinks ,we didn't wait long the food was well cooked hot and very tasty, pub was very clean and staff were very polite and professional *****

Well we love it , what you see is what u get , as a whiskey drinker I love the malt whiskey 🥃 specials , excellent VFM. On a late January sunny brisk midday we popped in for a breakie and hot drinks warm up. This wethers ticks all the boxes and the toilets are pristine, right next to the castle winner winner all day long. 👏👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿👍👏

Came with my husband, we are locals, the staff are friendly always helpful the food always comes out hot and the drink is served quickly

Working here in Gwynedd for over a year now I am a regular at Tafarn y porth and would not go elsewhere, the atmosphere is welcoming and professional. As a Shropshire non welsh speaking customer trying to learn, I can only say diolch yn fawr 5/5 for this Wetherspoons

Ideal for breakfast. Good choice, tasty food, and quick service at a great price. Always regularly have evening meals here and drinks. Very spacious, plenty of seating and a magnificent bar!

Ordered a chicken basket with the soy sauce and chips. Came out without the chips and the wrong sauce. Waitress tried to say the manager said the sauce had been ordered as coleslaw. Clearly hadn't. Chips and correct sauce came 5 min later after the chicken had been sitting on the table getting cold. The Beyond Burger that was ordered wasn't right either but couldn't be bothered complaining at this point. Given that it's a tenner now for most things it should be better. Felt slightly sorry, for about half a second, for the miserable waitress that served us. It vanished after she tried to argue with us though. The BBQ panini had half the bread missing and no BBQ sauce. Ignored at the bar for 5 minutes as well. Don't give up the day job guys. It's your day job? Awkward. On a positive note though, the guy who cleared our table smiled and thanked us for stacking the plates. 1 star for him alone 0 stars for the rest.

The beer garden of this pub was beautiful, however we arrived at 9pm so the tables were a bit messy but I can imagine the staff were busy. Our table was cleared of old glasses as soon as we sat down. The food was brilliant on the evening, and we went back the next morning for breakfast - it was the best spoons breakfast I’ve ever had!! thanks guys :)

The garden is a relaxing place for a drink on a warm and sunny day. No problem with the service here or with the staff, most of whom are happy to speak in Welsh to a learner!

The restaurant looks like a bingo and it is very busy. There’s a lot of waiters too, and they are very kind. The menu is full of staff, and you can order via the app or online, this is vey easy to do, the food usually doesn’t take so much time to be at the table. Prices are very low and some portions are a little bit small. But for a quick meal with the family, is recommended

Please, please avoid this place it is truly awful. I have not experienced customer service this bad anywhere before. There are some lovely places to visit in Caernarfon, this is not one them. The staff working here should be ashamed of themselves.

Kieran the duty manager was so helpful. Understood the issues of eating out with kids. Went above and beyond to help. Felt really safe, distanced, saw them cleaning regularly even though we came in on a Saturday and it was busy. They were coping really well. Would recommend if you want great, safe service

This hurts me to write this review as I am a fan of Wetherspoons and Tim Martin. However, our meal was just horrible. It was Luke warm and had obviously been waiting a while to be served. We should have sent both back as my curry was also tepid. So disappointing. You don’t come to a Wetherspoons for a Cordon Bleu but I do expect a basic hot meal. The only positive of our visit was the favourable drink prices and great Punk IPA.

As a group of 4 adults and one child we arrived at Tafarn y Porth for a meal. Asked yo fill in thr usual track and trace forms - no problem. Then told that each individual member had to produce ID. I had nothing with me, neither did my son in law but my husband and daughter both did. That wasn't good enough. If we didn't all have ID then we were not allowed in. "It's the rules." said tje very aggressive member of staff. Came back home to Pwllheli to the Pen Cob where all we had to do was fill in track and trace forms and we were welcomed in by very friendly staff.

My self and 5 work colleagues had walked Swowdon and decided to stay in Caernarfon, (top location) we'd been for food and decided to go to Weatherspoons for a last drink as it was the only place open. We were greeted by the security guy who showed us to a table, still full of empty glasses, eventually someone came to clear and clean it, spraying one of our group with cleaning spray along the way, but hey ho!A very polite member of staff took our order and we paid. Eventually after waiting a while someone came to apologise for the delay said the drinks were on the way. The drinks came, we'd ordered 2 pints and 4 shorts with mixers.Sadly not one of the shorts came with ice! Myself, I'd ordered a gin and tonic, it came, as I've stated, with no ice, to cap it off, the bottle of tonic was not chilled. I asked for ice but was told, "the ice machine is turned off on Saturday's!"I didn't have any opportunity to complain as the round was paid for before being served and the person serving it, put it on the table and disappeared. Surely on what is perhaps the busiest night of the week, they can provide ice? As previously stated, Caernarfon is a great place to visit/stay, there are lots of great bars but this Weatherspoons is downright poor. It's a shame, the hospitality industry has been hit really hard during covid, some outlets have gone the extra mile to get customers back, sadly this place hasn't!

I had a meal with a friend, i ordered a dessert after and the guy that was serving us was very rude. Came towards us asking if i had ordered a pudding because there was one sitting in the kitchen for five minutes then I replied saying that i did order one and his reply was ‘well unless you show proof that you have then you won’t be getting it’ then he made me show my online banking for only £1.90. I showed it, It came out all melted. He put the receipt on the table and said ‘next time do it right’ , im only making a complaint because not any waitress should talk like that.

Initially impressed on entry with the COVID restrictions and what was required explained by the doorman who took us to our table. Ordered the meals and Drinks without too much issue on the phone ap . Waited and waited and continued to wait , asking the serving bar staff twice to be told busy . After over half an hour the food eventually arrived but no drinks ? Told be with you soon. Had almost finished the meal before they arrived ( without an apology ) We had planned to stay there for a few drinks but no way were we going to be left waiting like that . They didn’t deserve the custom . In fairness the food was quite good but the service truly shocking .

A great job with track and trace and monitoring the bar area for social distancing. Lots of cleaning in evidence too. Somewhat oddly the table service is cash only (odd: why not card, less to touch?). We popped in for a quick pint (only £1.79 for a Doombar) and then came back the next morning for a cheapie breakfast. Very good value with free coffee refills.

We used this place a couple of times whilst staying in the town, and found it to be OK but with varying degrees of social distancing being practiced by the customers we felt, at times, un-easy, especially on Sunday night.We did have a curry on Thursday, and it was very tasty and good value for money.The drinks as you would expect were very reasonably priced.

Started off ok with a doorman passing us of to a member if staff to be seated but he went off shift later and it became a free for all, people walking i n and sitting where they liked without tables being cleared or sanitised.

We arrived and were shown to our table. We had been directed to the hand sanitizer on entry and given straight forward instructions on how to fill in the Track and Trace information. I felt completely at ease, as we were separated from our neighbours with physical dividing partitions, with perspex tops. Social distancing was easy as every table had its own section of the room. Hand sanitizer stations were dotted around and informative posters were carefully positioned in and around the lounge. Staff were superb and with the App already installed, there was no reason to leave the table. The food was delicious and the whole experience was reassuring and completely relaxed. I would highly recommend a visit, as it was extremely well organised. Definitely happy to return. We'll done, Tafarn y Porth.

Visited Tuesday night manager on the door controlling capacity and movement of customers which made me feel safe, Track and trace customers located everywhere and staff reminding all customers to complete forms and keep safe. Food, drink and service was excellend and will definetley be visiting again. Thank you

Visited tonight with the intention of having food as there seem to be so few food outlets open in the town until after tomorrow. Went in but decided not to stay. The entire place was very crowded without a spare table. As there were so many people in the space available it was very hard to socially distance. Didn't seem to be doing track and trace. Just didn't seem to be worth the risk of staying.

Usual Wetherspoons . The tables are very close together which makes it difficult to access the disabled toilet . The food was good so was the gin . Its clean and welcoming . Also has a small welsh menu which was very good

It's a Wetherspoons so, you don't expect to be overly impressed. I was overly impressed. The drinks were as drinks are, the food was better than imagined (the batter on the fish was perfect.)Why score a 5? The man I took to be the manager, (collared shirt, tie and a heavy bunch of keys on his belt) was solicitous as were his staff. Three seperate staff members checked everything was to our liking for the start, middle and end of the meal and, the questions and aside banter wasn't forced or an automatic reaction.Top marks to the motivator behind this.

Probably the only place open early on a Sunday morning in February so that was good. Unfortunately this is a rather dated spoons and it felt a bit dirty. The staff were lovely and the food was hot.

Great value for money. Massive seating area out front really well thought out must be brilliant in summer / autumn. Yes it is a wetherspoons yes it has wetherspoons menu but for value you can't knock it. Some maintenance going on but it didn't detract as there was entry if seating. Would like to start by saying the food was very good along with 99% of the staff who did a very good job. That said came across the most rude Manager I have ever encountered., (you know who you are, guy in the White shirt) I have visited various Wetherspoons all around the UK and found them overall very good, however on this occasion not the case. Improvement on CS required with regards management training on this site needs addressing ASAP Visited 02/02 evening.

My wife and I just called in weatherspoons,and decided on the turkey dinner ,which when it arrived was cold ,and the parsnips and carrots were inedible when this was mentioned to the manager he said odear can't understand that and carried on with his work was not bothered in the slightest ,we were not the only people to complain about Thier meals ,I think the only thing any good about this place is the drink ,shame but most certainly will not be eating there again
