Tafarn y Felin in Carmarthenshire

Excellent meal for 3 adults & child. Really tasty chicken burger, beef burger, gammon, halloumi, desserts etc. The chips were very nice and the service from Elliot was the best. (I believe it was Amanda in the kitchen, sorry if wrong) Look forward to returning

Always thoroughly enjoy visiting Tafarn-Y-Felin. The reasonably priced food is always well cooked and served with a smile. Kim and Vicky make this pub a pleasure to eat and drink in. The best bar staff ever.

Came here with the family after a recommendation and it didn't disappoint. The food was excellent and the burger was amazing. Kids loved their meals and the staff couldn't do enough. Will be back

Lovely meal last night. I had the fish and chips which were really tasty, batter was delicious and chips just right. My friend had a burger and said it was great. Well looked after by the staff and nothing too much trouble.

Best value for money around , the food was outstanding compliments to the chef Amanda Will definitely call again. Cheers guys

Friendly staff, good ambience. Great food and good value. Very quiet at one pm when we arrived but got busier later. Dad had scampi, I had lasagne. Both excellent.

Poppy the bar lady was lovely, extremely helpful and let us know the deals for food. Elliot cooked a lovely steak for me and the chips were lovely. Highly recommend

Called in while passing by for a drink and some food on a sunny Saturday. I ordered the cowboy burger and I have to say it was probably the best meal I've had in years! The chips and the burger were absolutely 10/10 and I'd have happily paid double the £9.99 it cost. Big shout out to Kyle the chef and the ladies behind the bar, top job and will definitely be back for more!

Terrible to see staff being bullied by the person who runs the place avoid at all cost . Also food was terrible and cold ....

6 of us went for a meal tonight. Warm welcome from Kim who looked after us all night. Food was good, 6 different meals and everyone enjoyed. Very reasonable prices. Lovely pint and plenty of choice. Will be going again...very soon.

Gammon was overcooked, the chips were hard like reheated ,peas hard ,pineapple burnt,my friend left half his meal,want be going back.

A quick spontaneous stop after painting the house. Cracking pint and fresh, hot food. Lasagne was delicious and, something which is rare these days, served on a hot plate!!! Amazing views over the Felinfoel, town and the Gower estuary. Will be back sooner rather than later. Thank you. Diolch.

Inedible food, (we had fish) kids had over cooked chicken dippers place is dirty, rude staff .. very quiet there and no wonder why

Had a few meals here lately and every time it’s been excellent, tonight a Family meal for my Wife’s Birthday and 10 meals all came out same time all superb, 3rd time I’ve had a steak and as previous it was superb, all meals were excellent everyone was delighted with their food, Satt is always attentive overseeing everything, Kim was thorough and as pleasant as can be she went the extra mile to ensure every one was happy and kept checking if anyone needed anything, all in all again a brill meal at Tavarn Y Felin

We had a family birthday meal for8 people everyone was pleased with the promptness of service and the food was excellent,we called again a few days later and had the same excellent service and meal.

Such and warm and welcoming pub,Food is always on point ,and the landlord can't do enough for his customers, with it being dry January for a few of us he has even made sure to stock up on non alcoholic options to show support, so much effort goes into all the pubs events my family and friends always have such a lovely time at the tafarn y felin would highly recommend 😊

It’s a shame this review doesn’t give zero stars, I’ve been going to this restaurant for many years as it being my local, however since it’s been taken over by new management this year the hospitality from the restaurant manager is appalling. The staff working at the restaurant are very friendly and they work very hard, however the manager is rude to staff and customers. The manager refused to cook children meals in September only adults when we visited, and yesterday, he made the wrong meal twice for a family member, we were a party of 8 and all had their meals before she had hers 45 minutes later. No apology from the manager, when asked to speak to him he kept making excuses, and refused to come to our table leaving his poor staff to deal with the situation. When a Family member went to the bar to speak to him, his attitude was disgusting, claiming we were rude to staff and started to point at her inches away from her face. When asking the staff if we were rude they all declined and said we weren’t. There was many witnesses to this. Totally unacceptable for a manager to be pointing closely at a customer’s face, he refused to refund us, and the late meal was inedible. We would of requested a refund earlier if it wasn’t for that member being diabetic with low blood sugars. I’ll never step foot in this restaurant again, not until the restaurant is taken over by new management. I would avoid this place at all costs.

We went for curry night, absolutely stunning. My little boy had dippers and waffles with peas and he cleared his plate so always a good sign. Been for meals before also and they are always spot on. Great food 😁

A friend of mine recommended me this place to have an evening meal. However, my food was ice cold, and top of that we had to wait over an hour for basic food. The ingredients did not look locally sourced and look frozen. My gammon was too chewy and had to waste most of it. I have heard that the previous owners were running the place a lot better! It’s sad to say that the new owner has really let this place down! I will not be visiting here again unfortunately. Therefore, I have given a 1 star.

Tafarn-Y-Felin isn’t as good as it once was when the previous owners were there. Food is great when we’ve had it. However kitchen closes early. The toilets need a big makeover as does the outside area. With such beautiful views it’s not a pleasant place to sit unfortunately with cigarette butts all over the small piece of artificial grass that’s there and furniture that needs painting with the real grass on the other side that’s not looked after. Such a shame. Sky sports has been cancelled which is disappointing too. And I’ve heard people say that it’s not the type of pub for tribute acts too. The girls behind the bar work their socks off and the landlord is lucky to have them.

First time visit with my fiancee and 2 young sons, a friend recommended it and I'm glad he did!!

food was lovely, the staff are horrendous! I work within the same industry and I would never treat a customer the way they did with us.. slammed the food down and was really rude.. also I’m sure when your working with food your supposed to be wearing your hair up so it doesn’t go in the food.. both girls had their hair down, won’t be returning I’d rather starve than come back here! Disgraceful

Called in for Sunday lunch, coke and lemonade was served my cheap plastic bottles from supermarket only one girl serving. Very little poor choice on carvery, the chef carving was nice though. Wouldn’t return for carvery maybe a main meal one day.

Let down before I even walked through the door. Opening hours not reflective of festive alcoholism in the community. Our group found it extremely unreasonable not to be accommodated for breakfast and a beverage before 12pm on Black Friday.

The woman who was serving us was very rude and then refusing to apologise to us. Wouldn't recommend to anyone and wouldn't go back again.

We were a party of 6, firstly made to feel very welcome by the staff on our first visit. We were initially impressed by the menu and when the food arrived we were not disappointed. The presentation of the meal was superb and the quality and taste of the food was first class. The chef of the day was Dan and the service from all staff was excellent. We will definitely return to the Tafarn Y Felin. Thanks!

Went to this pub for a couple of drinks but ended up ordering food as we became hungry, we were very surprised at the extensive menu and at how reasonable the prices were. Thoroughly enjoyed my steak and eggs, cooked exactly the way I like (and I am fussy), clean and tidy, polite staff and great value meals. Will definitely be back soon.
