Me and my family booked their hall upstairs to throw a surprise birthday party. Food was great as was the atmosphere. The owner himself, Mr Singh, was very helpful, accommodated to our needs and provided excellent dishes. Our guests were very pleased, will be sure to go back to have the food again :)

We did dinner tonight at Tadka and we saw small hair in the chicken and the food was very bad and the customer service was really really really very bad 👎 and the toilets was very messy and smelly and i just waste my money and ruined my mood

Everytime I go to this place and ask chef that I need to try something new and He never disaapoints me.I have tried alot of Indian restaurants in Leicester but no one can match the perfect taste of tadka. The staff is amazing and friendly too. Bakra on the bone and chicken 65 are my all time favorites.

I tried Tadka for first time and I must say you definately gotta try. I was here for a holiday and I bored of trying non authentic and less spicy food. Worst ever experience. I am a businessman and been eating out very frequently almost 4 times a week for 20years. Never had a worst dinner experience in my life. When explained the problem staff started to argue. In my language, Bhai koi or restaurant dekhlo kai sare restaurant honge. I wonder owner keeps sich chefs. How can he afford it ! MY SON’S TUTTY IS BETTER THAN THEIR SHAHI PANEER.!!

Was not good at all. The mix grill for £17:95 was not nice 4 pieces of each meat and the fish lol dry like dessert. Won't be coming back. Hope I can save you from spending your money at this restaurant Don't go there.

Well we planed a surprise birthday of my wife birthday over there and I dropped cake before 2 hours ago .and bring when we ask as to make her surprise but they brought the cake when we been in wash room that was surprised for us how they can do this if we are not there.but food was okey.

Went on Friday 7.00pm (peak time for Friday) and we were the only customers. It felt empty and cold. On top of that, the food was terrible and expensive....Sheek Kebabs worked out at £4.20 each, the Methi Lamb was awful...very salty even though we like salt in our food. The lamb was grisly and tough, lot of the lamb pieces were left on the plate. Got 3 slices of cucumber, a tomato and a slice of lemon for salad! Complained about the lamb and all we got was sorry. We have been here before when it wasn't Tadka, and the food then was excellent.....NEVER AGAIN

The location is good very nice quaint little restaurant, the food was very tasty and flavourful, staff is friendly and it's a clean place. The only downside by is they took nearly an hour to bring our starters, then one of the waitress threw our leftovers away when I asked to pack it, the other thing I don't like is a 20% on your bill - for what. Won't be going again unfortunately.

The things which are required in good restaurant is food, cleanliness,good service and safe and friendly environment. I found all these things here. If I talk about food it is authentic Indian food with great taste and everything is neat and clean as well as staff is very presentable.

Nice place, food is nice. Nothing to shout out about. Pretty standard. Havnt been here since pre covid. Menu has changed. Not sure if new chef. We had the butter chicken and masala fish and day makhni. Butter chicken. Portions are fairly small, but then prices are reasonable so I guess balances out. Its OK.

I don't know where to start so many things they can't get right at this place. Firstly and mist importantly the food doesn't taste right, for example the butter chicken tastes nothing like butter chicken. Mixed grill just has raw onions chucked on top and several other dishes do not taste how they should. There is a 20% service fee which is extortionate for the lack of service!. For example one dish not arriving, no cutlery , having to ask for bill several times etc, works out more expensive than other places which have a better standard.

Fantastic food + very good value. All the dishes tasted distinct with a delicious amount of spicing. The menu had a good range without being too long. Really brilliant service! The bathroom could be improved.

Lovely food. Starter portions were very good, mains decent sized. Sweet lassi was way too watery, but will still return here as was definitely worth it overall. Staff were really nice👌🏽 will be back soon.

It was closed for a private party!

Restaurant much better than the normal Bangladeshi run Anglo fake curry houses, the food was far more authentic North Indian style. The restaurant is more like a large cafe and rather brightly lit so not a romantic place and there's no tablecloths. The bar is rather Limited in the range of drinks with just Kingfisher Lager on draught. However the prices are not very high and all portions were most generous. We had papadoms and pickles, starters paneer tikka and seekh kebabs both were really good. Mains were mutter paneer and Rogan Josh again both were very good, accompanied by pilau rice and plain buttered Naan. This restaurant is a member of tastecard so one main course and one starter were free so 2 really can eat for the price of one. Service was decent enough so in all a very pleasant evening and I would have no hesitation in going there again so I can recommend this restaurant unreservedly.

The most shocking chilli paneer I have ever had. The paneer was not cooked, just a watered down sweet/sour sauce. The worst chilli paneer I have ever had. Do not order the chilli paneer from here. Not sure about the other food. Portions for £5.99 here when compared to other places in Leicester are small. Would never order again or recommend to anyone. Sorry that’s my honest opinion. Credit where it’s due they allowed me to order at the resturant for a takeaway but very disappointed and a waste of money.

Food was from one their virtual kitchens called Seoul kitchen. Food was average and felt like oven food and the staff thought I was a deliveroo driver picking up food instead of a customer.

The Tadka restaurant In Leicester offered the Meerkat deal on the Meerkat website. I rang to book a table and confirmed whether the deal was still available, they agreed it was. We arrived, one of the staff suggested we order 6 starters and 6 mains for 7 adults and two children. When the bill arrived they only discounted 1 meal, we queried this with the manager/waiter to be told that’s the only discount we were going to get I think it’s unacceptable to use to Meerkat as an advertising platform and not adhere to their policy of two for one meals. They agreed at the time of booking and completely changed when it came to paying. I will never go that restaurant again, they misled my family and the purpose of Meerkat. Please do not eat there. They have no principles or morals!!

The staff in this place are totally dishonest and are using MEERKAT as a platform to advertise their restaurant, this is a way of luring customers in and not actually delivering what was agreed in the contract. I contact the restaurant to book a table for 7 adults and two young children. At the time of booking I asked them whether we are able to use the MEERKAT OFFER, they stated yes. Arrived , reminded them again, the staff advised we should order 6 starters and 6 mains. Which we did. When the bill arrived they only deducted one main meal. We paid and left. It’s appalling they can get away with it. I’ve checked on the website today 25/8/21 they are still on the meerkat website. Offering 2-1 up to 6 people, another website states 8 people. I will not be going there again, the staff are dishonest and liars.

Portion are very small compare to price. Over priced everything. Meals come very late after ordering, nearly an hour. Charge more then many card pricing. Extra £6 charge on bill god knows for what? Very poor service. Don't recommend anyone go there, it's ripe off. Test of food like stale and not enjoyable.

I chanced upon Tadka almost by accident and I rang to speak with them to discuss some food options. The owner A Singh answered and he was very friendly & enthusiastic and advised that orders take about 20 minutes to prepare and ALL food is 100% vegan - winner! I ordered the vegan chick kadhai, a vegan cheese naan, a plain vegan garlic naan and the curries came with a small salad & rice as well. They also gave us some pappad (poppadoms) with a delicious achaar (pickle). As promised, the food was ready within 20 minutes and I rushed to take it home. If first impressions are to go by - the packaging and design was awesome! It looks so good and then when you taste it, Wow! *Chefs Kiss* - the food is DELICIOUS. It was so tasty, full of rich flavors and aromas and it was hard to believe it actually was vegan. Delicious. I couldn’t get enough. I recommended Tadka to a friend who ordered it yesterday and his words were “BLOODY DELICIOUS”. Whether you’re vegan or not, try it. You won’t be disappointed. Amazing food, great service. We will be back very soon!

So we ordered from Epic Vegan Chick leicester on Deliveroo who are apparently using this address and telephone number. Wanted to write a feedback review for epic vegan chick but couldn't find them under that title. All the details brought us to Tadka Restaurant. We ordered a few portions of fries for £3.50 each only to be given a small portion of those cheap chicken shop chips. Extremely unimpressed. We also ordered vegan fillet burgers only to have them be those flavourless quorn fillets, nothing restaurant made, drowned in sweet bbq sauce and coleslaw in a bid to add some flavour. These flavours were not a great combination. I wouldn't mind but during the month of veganuary we wanted to give support to vegan businesses and this was just a complete rip-off for what was delivered. Over priced and food was shockingly bad. Worst vegan food in Leicester by far.

I've had several takeaways. Mr.Singh's service with a smile followed with good food packed neatly, is adorable.

This was the first time I have had food from this place and it will definitely not be the last! Indeed it is now at the top of my list for Indian Takeaway food. The chicken biriyani was excellent as was the sauce. The Tadka dhal equally as good. The prices on the menu look on the higher side but that is deceptive. There is a 40% discount on on line orders and 15% discount on food ordered over the telephone. On that basis, for collected food, the prices are very competitive I am happy to recommend this place

I have ordered a takeaway from Tadka many times and my expectations have always been met. It looks very clean inside and would be delighted to eat inside when I stop shielding..

Had Dinner last night, amazing food, chill paneer, veg Manchurian, paneer makhni was delicious, however Dhaba Dal need little bit more richness. All over great food.I will definitely recommend this place 👍

This was the first time I went with my family. The food was absolutely rubish. The manager told me everyone has there own taste and its my fault I didnt read the reviews before I went as I have now seen others have said the same. It was full of oil and water and the manager kept telling me its cooked in a "desi way" . We cook desi food at home its never been like this. He did take the drinks off the bill and ask me how much I wanted to pay I paid the full amount but to be honest I shouldn't have. The dishes were left full on the table the naans were rock hard and we did not pack anything to bring him which is unusual for a visit at a restaurant!

The waiters were extreme polite and gave us free bottled water, the food was delicious and I could taste that all the ingredients used were fresh. It was definitely worth the price.I would recommend the butter chicken for anyone looking for a rich, buttery and very iconic dish. It was by far the best butter chicken I have eaten in my life.I loves prawns but sometimes am very picky about them and the crispy prawns from here were absolutely perfect for me and my family.Everyone working in the restaurant is wearing a mask and they have hand sanitiser when you walk in and leave and are following social distancing guidelines.Overall I would not want you to miss out on this restaurant that has the best local Indian food!!Thank you so much to the kind staff

Had a meal with the family here during the week.It was not overly busy and the social distancing between tables was very good.Not a great choice of drinks but the menu was varied.The service was really poor and everything seemed to take ages. This was throughout our visit.We had to ask for the plates and cutlery to be changed after starters, before having our main dishes.But the food was really good.We had a mixed grill and chilli prawns for starters which everybody enjoyed - though the onions with the grill could have been cooked more.We had a selection of main dishes including Lamb Karhai, fish curry, butter chicken and Daal Mukhni which were all nice but the butter chicken was a bit runny. The Red Leicester Cheese Naan went down very well. Portions weren’t great and prices were slightly high, but overall the actual taste and quality of the food was very good.If there was somebody running the floor with experience and better customer service I would rate this as 5 Star.

Just ate today. The food tasted good as always. Service from Mr Singh (the boss) was really good. Highly recommend. The social distancing and hygiene standards were well maintained. The waiter Victor was very attentive. While govt 50% off is on, still certainly worth trying.

My friend recommended this restaurant and we (4 Adult and 2 Children) went to this place for dinner. Both the children are autistic and we needed extra space to accommodate as the seating arrangement was cramped . The restaurant was nearly empty. We twice requested the waiter ( Yuvan) to join another table so that we will have more space . He refused, saying they don’t have enough staff and he is leaving work shortly. When I asked for the owner he said he left for the day. At last the manager intervened and arranged the table. The worst thing is the waiter accused me of being rude and asked for an apology from me. Won’t recommend and will never visit again.

Had a function here. The plates were served ice cold - made the food cold once served. 1 waiter made our group set up a table, he just said the chairs are stacked there and to do it ourselves.

I booked the function room at tadka for a surprise birthday party. The tables and chairs were decorated nicely. The food was served as buffet style and this worked brilliantly for our party as everyone could help themselves to as much as they wanted. The waiters were friendly and kept topping up the food. The guests thoroughly enjoyed the starters and mains. We brought our own cake and had it with ice cream dishes out by the waiters. Mr Singh who I dealt with in organising the event was very accommodating to our requirements. I highly recommend this venue and the food.

Dont deserve a single star! otherwise wont let me post. Staff not receptive at all, orders took ages to arrive, from drinks, starters to mains, not only late but things were forgotten/missed and arrived only if you called up a staff member and reminded them. Quality/taste/presentation of food not so good compared to other places. Portions were also very small for the price! I would never visit again, sadly!

Visited this restaurant for a Bollywood musical night Diwali bash ... The singers were amazing... But the food (buffet) served was absolutely Rubbish... quantity was less ..and when asked, The staff said that they will get more food but they never came back, Alcohol was served in Plastic glasses ( even though they charge full price)Will definitely not go there again
