This is one of our fave restaurants ever! Chef is superb! We have visited many times for the set menu and also tried the wine pairing. We are always super impressed by the flavours and excitement of each course. The black pudding bread is the best in the world haha! Decor isn’t quite fitting the ‘fine dining’ description but it’s certainly unique. Perhaps a warmer, more intimate atmosphere would add to the ambiance and general impression. Service can be a little hit or miss, sometimes takes a little while to be noticed or receive drinks including top ups and last time we visited we couldn’t understand the waiter very well as he had a very strong accent. We also found the restaurant very cold and had to keep our jackets on which was a shame as we had dressed up for the occasion. We would LOVE if there was some sort of shuttle service to the city centre which would allow all parties to enjoy the gin/wine pairing. 5 stars because the food is to die for and with little tweaks this could be the best dining experience in Inverness.

We were lucky enough to dine here whilst staying at the Castle. To be honest I wasn't sure what to expect before arriving, being more of a burger and chips person I thought this might be all a bit too fancy, with small portions etc. I couldn't be more wrong! The food was fantastic, we had the 3 course menu with wine pairings and every dish was amazing and I left feeling completely full and wanting to return as soon as possible. The staff were always on hand but never there when you didn't need them, perfect in my opinion. I cant recommend this restaurant enough to anyone that wants a quiet meal where you leave feeling completely spoilt.

Dined in this restaurant while staying at the hotel. The restaurant is based in its own building, pleasant environment. Food is outstanding, awesome blend of textures and flavors. Service is good without being overbearing. Pricing is reasonable. Portions tend to be on the small size, thankfully one can ask for a second portion of bread.

I was here with my family on Wednesday evening and what a great experience it was. The food was amazing we all had the 5 course menu with wine and a few extra wee courses thrown in. From start to finish every course was executed to perfection, beautifully presented and amazing flavours really top notch. The word hidden gem is banded around on this site far too much but this is a HIDDEN GEM cause it's kinda hidden haha. I shall be spreading the word top work chefs. Only 1 wee niggle was that the wines were not really explained by the waiters, didn't bother me at all but would round off the amazing service. Many thanks Keith x

We had a meal booked along with our stay at the castle manor and can’t say we were disappointed, excellent service from the staff providing snacks prior to our meal while we decided on our choices. All courses were amazing but in particular was the monk tail and scallops and you’d expect to pay 3 times what was stated.

Our group enjoyed two lovely meals in this restaurant and congratulations to the chefs for producing such delicious and beautifully presented dishes. Very reasonably priced for the quality. Slightly unusual in the the choices are between tasting menus without A la Carte options albeit possibly to make the whole offering manageable.

The food is very good and it shows that the restaurant has ambitions. However, the wine package selection was straight out bad with small glasses of ok-ish, wines served at bad temperatures. On top of that, the staff had no knowledge in wines and especially not in these.

We had yet another fabulous meal - this time with friends who were astonished at how reasonably priced the tasting menus were. We opted for the full 6 course menu although with the amuse bouche and various other bits and pieces it was closer to 8 courses I think. Everything was beautifully presented and tasted superb but the lamb in particular was outstanding and the dessert with white chocolate and even caramac was out of this world. Our friends left saying they would spread the word in London about this gem of a restaurant.

We had an impeccably presented 5 course dinner, including drinks, for £50 per head. That’s exceptional value for money considering the quality. Adventurous and delicious, portion sizes just right, and good service. My only criticism is the rather odd name, which almost put me off booking in the first place - but I’m glad I did and will no doubt be back.

My husband booked this for us after reading about the restaurant in a guide to Inverness and what a fabulous find. There are 3 menus to choose from 3,4&7 courses (I think) we decided to have the 3 course at £30 per head , the alternatives at £40 and £55 were also good value. We also opted for the excellently priced wine flight at£12.50 for 3 glasses of curated wine to complement the food . The food was excellent and the venison an exceptional dish beautifully presented and balanced. I also enjoyed my salmon starter and my dessert The dessert was very light and interesting Nick had cheese which was good although he’s not sure he likes pickled walnuts! I would recommend going here if you are in the area for a good meal out . If you are celebrating or just fancy treating yourselves . Go you won’t bedisappointed. Just one point We had a slightly tricky journey through the woods on the way there. We came out a different way which was much better so if you’re using google beware!

As a surprise for my wife I chose the Table Manors restaurant at Achnagairn for her birthday and our wedding anniversary dinner. I thought it a fitting venue as we had our wedding at Achnagairn. We live in Inverness so we had to take a city taxi either way which was approx £22.00. The restaurant itself is set within the grounds of the estate in one of the lodges and looked very nice from the outside, nice fresh decor and a warm welcome from the staff. We chose the 7 course meal with accompanying wines..... it was a spect occasion after all. I can honestly say it like to singles out one of the courses and say it was my favourite however each course was exemplary in its own way and the accompanying wines only enhanced the dining experience. Fantastic in every way.... we spent the week following or night there trying to remember when we had finer food and better wines. Chateau Mon Dèsir in Mauritius came close as it had exquisite service it is Michelin star restaurant however Table Manors as far as both my wife and I are concerned can not be beaten. We have dined is some wonderful places far and wide on our adventures and we found the best practically on out door step. No photos im afraid my wife informed me it would lower the tone of the fine establishment so you’ll have to go a experience Table Manors for yourself.

This was an excellent meal! The staff were friendly and generally competent - although some of the younger ones need a bit more wine training. Saying that the wine pairings chosen by the sommelier for the tasting menu were brilliant. The food was well cooked and the portion sizes were perfect so that it wasn't until the end that you felt replete. A very enjoyable experience. I would be very happy to eat here again.

My spouse and I were staying at the nearby lodges, which include a family style kitchen for eating in, but went to Perfect Manors one night. We had excellent service from a very inexperienced but eager crew. We found the menu very highly limiting; one could choose a 3 course, 4 course or 7 course dinner with no other options. Normally, being up in years, we generally split a dinner but that is not an option here. We chose the 3 course dinner, for each of us,and were truly delighted with the quality of the food presented. It was absolutely first rate. This is NOT a place you would go for a quick bite or a burger or fish n chips, nor would you take picky kids along, but it is a place you would go to be delighted.

Without doubt the best restaurant in the Inverness area for me.We went for the Sunday lunch and all 4 of our dishes were irresistible. For the main course I had the Sunday roast which at first I was wary of, but had total faith after tasting the quality of starters and even just the bread. There was no need for the roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding because everything already on the plate was perfection. The panacotta desert was gorgeous as well. Interior of the place, the service, the quirky characteristics of the place was all fantastic too. Couldn't recommend highly enough and we will definitely be back.

There was only one other couple in the restaurant so I would expect the staff to be more attentive to our needs.Decor - not my cup of tea- however very clean and tidy. (Gain one star) .

My partner and I visited Table Manors last weekend, we chose it because of its good reputation however it let itself down. The food was absolutely amazing and I couldn't fault it at all but the service was horrible! We arrived and several waiter staff walked passed without saying hello until we eventual stopped one and said we had a booking. The restaurant was only half full but it seemed like a massive inconvenience we had arrived. Like I said the food was lovely but the waiter staff were rushing around with no smile on their faces clearly hating their job. At the end of our meal the manager arrived at our table and demanded to know how we booked and then wanted to see my email confirmation. I have never been treated so rudely! I don't even understand why it was such a big deal the restaurant wasn't full! Is it normal to print out a email confirmation for a seat at a restaurant? We'd booked on the phone a week in advance! Low and behold the bill came and it was a little expensive but it was what I would pay for the food quality but I wouldn't have expected such awful service for the price and quality of the restaurant. There was also a big song a dance because we had 15% off vouchers but it was sorted. I am really disappointed and I think the staff need A LOT more training. I'm afraid to say I will never go back despite the food being amazing.

We were staying at Achnagairn castle for several nights, so Table Manors was our local. It is smart, modern, well decorated and comfortably furnished and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The menu is very limited; ok, that's the nature of the place, but some of the dishes on offer seem a bit esoteric for these parts. Fine for subtle tastes, enticing flavours, provocative aromas, but you can't help feeling it's all a vehicle for the (very good) chef to show off his creativity. The main problem, though is that when we visited, there were only two or three couples. The feeling of isolation and the echoes, and the long silences spoil the otherwise welcoming ambience. Perhaps if Table Manors extended its menu a bit, with more choices, even adding a couple more vegetarian dishes, then it might bring in more customers. However, all that aside: Food excellent, service smooth and friendly, and value for money very good, with a particularly reasonably priced and well chosen list of wines.

This is an interesting restaurant. Situated as part of the destination venue of Auchnagairn House and Lodges, about half an hour drive from Inverness. Open to the general public but only for lunch on Sundays. Lovely, ambiance and with outdoor seating areas. Food was good quality, with care taken in the presentation with a rather modern twist on the traditional sirloin and Yorkshire pudding. Some aspect of the service were not so good. Drinks arrived promptly but followed 30 mins later with bread (freshly made) but only moments before the main course. The menu required interpretation, e.g. "Lemon" being a sweet choice and we did wonder if we were to be served a whole lemon. Coffee was good. The atmosphere lacked any buzz with so few diners, an area the restaurant is trying hard to address and hopefully will.

Visited with my wife and 2 friends. on a Thursday evening. There were one;y 2 other couples eating so the atmosphere was a little subdued. We had a good table in front of a bay window. The young lady waitress was very polite and obliging. The food was interesting, tasty and well presented. The only criticism I have of the food was that the vegetables that were arranged on the plate very decoratively we're rather cold. I could not decide if it was because the kitchen had taken too long to artistically decorate the plate with the vegetables or that the draught coming through the appallingly fitted windows had cooled the food. This is not that old a building but the quality of the window frames is appaling. There is no point fitting double glazed units in windows that are so badly made that there are huge gaps in the frames where a cold wind blows through. I would certainly eat here again but they must fit new windows as a matter of urgency if they are to succeed in becoming a popular restaurant in the Inverness area.

We've just returned from the most wonderful weekend in bonnie Scotland. On Saturday night we were treated to the tasting menu which combines Highland flavours with a contemporary twist. Using fresh, locally sourced ingredients, each well judged portion size arrived beautifully presented. The already infamous neep and haggis soup includes crumbly nuggets of delicious crispy haggis instead of croutons. The venison was tender and cooked to perfection and the scallops were sweet and nestled on a bed of creamy risotto – inspired. Pudding was a classic combination of chocolate and rasberry with a smooth fondant contrasting beautifully with delicious fruity scoop of sorbet. We returned for a very light lunch the next day before departing to the airport. It did not disappoint. Again beautifully presented, contrasting textures and flavours and excellent value.Would thoroughly recommend. I've been to many fine dining restaurants including a good few with Michelin stars both here and abroad. This place has some brilliant cooking, good service and a lovely atmosphere that matches some of the best I've been to. Yes, I'm sure if you want to be picky you can find a few things to fault. I can usually do so even in the two Michelin starred places. But if you are finding fault here I think you might be being a wee bit unfair.2 chefs who have won young chef of the year working with a team who are pulling out all the stops. And doing so at a price that is almost unbelievable. I think they are £20-£30 a head less than any comparable place I know of. If anyone knows differently please let me know because I will be desperate to try it.If this place was in London or Edinburgh folk would be queuing out the doors to get in for such a fabulous value meal. Seriously give it a try. We had the tasting menu and I had wonderful paired wines with mine and it came to just over £100. We could have had a great meal off the al a carte for little more than half that.I'll be back. No doubt about that.

The setting and decor is absolutely ideal for a nice up market restaurant but unfortunately the food and service isn't quite there YET. It's a newish place so can expect a few teething issues and when we saw "fine dining" plastered all over the website kind of knew what was coming. We found the food to be way too over complicated and generally imbalanced with certain things over powering the main part of the dish and a lot of it completely unnecessary i.e. Dehydrated cabbage leaf?? They are clearly using very good ingredients but as the title says, trying way too hard and not using them to their full potential. The service was a bit inconsistent, slow, mix ups with being asked for drinks orders twice, asking for the bill about 3 times before having to go to the bar to pay as our taxi was outside. I think we would return for another visit and hopefully they just need a bit of time to get the place spot on and pull the reigns in a little.

Visited for Sunday lunch with friends. Very surprised that we had only just heard about this place. Menu was not overly large but had a good selection and most options covered, Sunday roast was excellent, served beautifully and with an exquisite side of vegetables. As the main starters and desserts were also excellent. Good portion size and well priced. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back.

I posted some thoughts about the new Table Manors restaurant when reviewing Achnagairn Castle Hotel near Inverness but realise this should really have gone under restaurants rather than hotels, so here's a bit more on Table Manors which I'd thoroughly recommend and was perfect after a hard day's fishing on the River Oykel an hour or so's drive to the north. The enthusiastic welcome and the funky use of colour are what hits you first. After a plethora of greys and neutrals in most London eateries, it was great to enjoy a funky, eye-popping mix of natural textures - silver birch trunks, exquisite little flower arrangements of foliage and pink roses on each table and zingy lime green paired with maroons and fuchsia pinks. It was a welcome antidote to the overdose of ultra-trad chintz and tartan you get in other Scottish country house hotels. The restaurant is justly proud that both their ambitious accomplished chefs had previously won Scottish Young Chef of the Year awards - no surprise there, judging by the quality of the food. The head chef even came to our table to describe the ingredients and how he had put the different dishes together - the service and A good deal less expensive than comparable restaurants in the home counties, the local specialities were particularly good, especially the venison, steak, scallops and smoked salmon.- I had the latter marinaded in lime and beetroot plus splodges of gorgeous creamy vegetable accompaniment and home-baked bread with (I think) pumpkin seeds. The splashes of bright colours and textures made it look like a work of art on the plate. One friend had a velvety haggis and neep soup which had the richness and robust flavours of haggis itself. The scallop dish was superb but best of all was the rare venison with roasted vegetables - an autumny taste with a delicious sauce. The portions were generous - a good selection of mixed vegetables and triple fried chips that were worth a detour. My friends' fillet steaks were melting and although I was so full I couldn't manage a pud, the coffees arrived with home-made fudge in little treasure boxes, so I got my fix of sweetness. A friendly welcome, relaxed atmosphere and splendid food.

Had breakfast here whilst staying in one of the lodges. It wasn't very nice at all. The décor is terrible - behind the wood stuck to the walls, you can see the painted plasterboard - and the unpainted plasterboard at the bottom where you would normally find a skirting board. Cheap finishes throughout and a buffet breakfast only.

The meal was brilliant, I had the venison which was cooked to perfection. As for a romantic anniversary dinner, the restaurant decor is a bit quirky and bright. The location is fine but not great view. But the service and meal certainly made up for it, compliments to the chef

Welcoming friendly staff, interesting and varied menu. Chefs are brilliant - my venison was perfect and was accompanied by a variety of interesting and perfectly cooked vegetables which made the meal one of the best that I've ever had. The chocolate ganache dessert was a thing of beauty with a variety of textures and tastes. Very impressed and I look forward to returning.

Beautifully decorated restaurant with friendly staff. Food was imaginative, tasty and well presented, with the Truffle Macaroni rated extremely highly. We visited at a time when the Early Bistro menu was available.Only suggestion for improvement would be more signage within the estate to the restaurant.

We visited Table Manors at the weekend because we were in the area, we married at Achnagairn Castle in January this year so it was lovely to return to what I think is the best place in the world (in my opinion). My husband started with She sells Seashells - King scallops with apple, hazelnut & Cauliflower and beetroot which he said was very nice . I had Haggis, neap & tattle soup with toasted haggis, something I would never have tried but was delighted I did as it was very nice, to follow I opted for the Truffle Macaroni (my husband hates macaroni so is never made at home) well it was absolutely divine, creamy, tasty and probably has millions of calories !!! My husband ordered the Allday Break-fish, Monkfish, spicy fish cakes & black pudding with a side of onion rings which he thoroughly enjoyed, he followed with Eton Mess whilst I had a coffee. We will definitely be returning to Table Manors. They believe in escaping the ordinary and the decor is certainly not ordinary. Well worth a try.

This was our second visit to the restaurant as we wanted to see if it had improved since our disappointing first visit. From start to finish it was excellent . We had the Fine Dining menu this time and can thoroughly recommend the ham hough starter , and the lamb which we both had . We had excellent service both from the Manager and lovely Gillian who could not have done more for us. Gillian is a class act . Such a pity that there is not more local interest . We live nearby ,and so being foodies ,it is fantastic to have a restaurant this quality in the vicinity . I love the decor !

We had the bistro menu and had a starter and main with drinks and the bill was very reasonable at £45 x thoroughly recommended (would also book as even on a Sunday it was quiet busy)

We had dinner as staying at the Achnagairn Castle and as it is few min walking distance. They say to the hotel staff they are fully booked (and guests from the hotel should be sure to get dinner there!) while they keep tables empty... The menu has few choices. It not typical scottish. Staff is kind.

Had a fantastic meal here and will definitely return. We had the fine dining dinner menu and it was very impressive. Loved the clever use of words to describe the dishes - the kitchen staff were clearly having fun. The early evening bistro menu also looked really good. Service was good too. The prices were excellent considering the quality.

Part of the Achnrgairn Castle Hotel, this restaurant would be worth the trip even if you weren't at the hotel. The locally sourced menu features both bistro and fine dining fare, depending on how early or late you're dining. We had the bistro menu. It's full of fun familiar items -- with a twist. A burger or fish & chips is hardly the same old same old. The "Chef's whimsey" is also a treat. (You have to ask :) Deserts such as the Eaton mess is light and decadent at the same time. And the home made ice cream is a must have.

Tasteful, contemporary decor, fantastic food, couldn't fault anything. Mainly young waiting staff but all well trained and efficient. Prompt service and well priced. My only gripe would be the (small print) statement on the bottom of the menu that for parties of 5 or more there is a mandatory 12.5% gratuity added - this seems a bit out of order. Recently opened I think this will go from strength to strength if their food remains as good as we were served tonight.

The service is friendly but very clumsy: we had to remind the staff for our drinks well after the first course was served, cutlery was constantly forgotten, our kid's food was brought one hour after ordered, etc. The food is eventually ok, with good ingredients and well prepared, but trying to be fine dining without really being it.

We are local to the area and were looking forward to our first visit to Table Manors . First impressions are "Wow" as the decor is very modern and colourful . We had a nice welcome and drinks while we looked at the menu . We all found our food was ok . But nothing very special , small portion of salmon , macaroni was bland . The White wine was not chilled and neither was the water . When black pepper was requested , they took a long time to produce some . We were the first people in the restaurant for the early evening meal . For the most part our desserts were lovely apart from the fig pear and frangipani tart which was a disgrace . It came as a muffin with a small jar of clotted cream with the label still attached . Final black mark was mint tea - teabags had to be sourced from the nearby hotel ! And coffee was cold These small details are what make the difference . The restaurant was busy and perhaps the staff are inexperienced . I so want to be positive as it is on our doorstep and would be very convenient . Initial teething problems as it is a new restaurant and hopefully they will be addressed .

My partner and I, sister and her husband recently visited on a spur of the moment decision to go out for a meal. My sister had hear of Table Manors through her colleague and I had seen it on face book so we thought we would give it a try. We were not disappointed! The food was delicious, the service was great and so friendly. We met the chef at the end of our meal to give feed back which was a lovely touch. We were also sitting next to the owners, they asked our opinions of the restaurant and the food and really seemed to take on board what we suggested which was a lovely end to a excellent dining experience.

Vielen Dank!

I visited Table Manors a couple of weeks ago, just after it opened. I had high expectations – the whole of Achnagairn Estate is amazing – and they were exceeded. The food was as good as any I have had and the décor worked really well. Staff are friendly, service is prompt and we came away determined to go back frequently in the future. I had the beef dish, and my girlfriend chose the lamb, both from the fine-dining menu. Food was delicious, and meticulously presented - highly recommended!

With six in our party we managed to book a table last night and we were all blown away with the cuisine. We chose the evening menu, which is served from 7pm, there is also a bistro menu for earlier diners, both excellent value for money. It was clear there was a desire to please from the moment you walk in until you leave. The service was professional and friendly making for a relaxed atmosphere. We were delighted to have had the opportunity of being introduced to our Chefs who are to be commended for their passion to prepare for us a menu showcasing the best locally produced and sourced food. Highly recommend the scallops and beef. Well worth a visit.

We had a lovely dinner in this restaurant. The food was delicious and the staff incredibly kind. We feel welcomed and very well attended all the time. I tried the wee haggis for the first time ever and it was delicious. The mussels were really good too. Also the Geographer hamburger was one of the best burgers I have tried. Food and service were good. The ambience has absolutely nothing to do with a restaurant. It was freezing cold and the radiator running didn't make much difference other than noise. You should dress warmly.
